Jordan secular, breaking news, brand-new legislation has been proposed in the U.S. Senate to provide vouchers to families during the pandemic so they can choose the right school education program for their child live from Washington DC Jay Sekulow line phone lines are open for your questions right now: one 806 843-110-1800 68412, your host, secular books we got breaking news here is you know we been taking orders over 1000 families that have contacted the ACLJ in well over a note over 25 states probably close to 30 now contacted the ACLJ because of educational hardships. Other students in public schools will be facing because of the what plans have been announced or there has been no plan announced and we have been were dealing with those you don't a case by case basis individually because of those hardships different parents face whether to special needs child. Whether it's virtual school, but you don't have the Internet access. The food programming the childcare issue. If you got working parents are single-parent. And there's something even more absurd happening in Arizona. There were to be talking about in the next segment of the broadcast with Cory DeAngelis he is the school choice director at the reason foundation is also an adjunct fellow at the Cato Institute, you will not believe unless you live in Mesa or Gilbert is the one other place now in Arizona is doing this you will not believe what public schools have done and are doing to parents their and will talk about that the next segment with Cory if you got questions, 164 3110 but then Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina and Chairman Lamar Alexander of Tennessee.

He's the chairman of the education committee. He they have put forward legislation to do pandemic vouchers basically.

So they think there's federal action now for us to support and for government affairs team really to get behind user vouchers specifically during the pandemic so that so that students so the parents will have the choice of where to send other students to school or home school funding if they need that were to bring in to bring intruders to their home if they have to do that but it basically would be a pandemic voucher during absolute right. This is extremely encouraging news from the federal government. It honestly Jordan is exactly what we have been asking them to do in this proposal is called the school choice now active put forward by as you said by Sen. Scott chairman Lamar Alexander as well in Jordan there's a couple of components to this but the most important one. In my mind is what is called emergency education, freedom, grants, and these are dollars that would flow through the corona by virus stimulus funding which is being worked on right now to states to provide to scholarship granting entities. What is that mean Jordan means that parents would be eligible to receive these funds from the federal government through their state entities to choose the schooling for their children of their choice erotic and can include homeschooler can include private private schools include charter schools, Jordan, the total dollar amounts in this act would be 10% of whatever is allocated toward education going forward. So if you just look at what we announced a couple of days ago that leader McConnell has says there's gonna be $105 billion in his proposal in the next package, Jordan, that would mean that more than $10 billion are available for this purpose.

Now, of course, that still has to be worked out, the negotiations have to be finalized but Sen. Scott language of and talking to people on the hill Jordan and it's very much sounds like the framework in Sen. Scott's language is being embraced by leader McConnell and I think there's a very good chance we could see it inside the neck stimulus package.

Okay folks, this why what you do retake that school choice petition that we've got@aclj.org and now we got a way to utilize that at the federal level not signed that petition yet. Go to ACLJ.org and I would hear your thoughts about the idea of kind of pandemic vouchers at the federal level will keep providing information about answering your questions about it throughout the show date 1-800-684-3110 in coming up next expert on this issue. Cory DeAngelis from other reason foundation. He is the director of school choice there later in the broadcast will be joined by former ambassador to Japan Bill Haggerty is also a US candidate by Donald Trump in Tennessee were early voting is Artie started the primary hope is later the broadcast to support the work ACLJ ACLJ.org building today. The American Center for Law and Justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom.

Protecting those who are persecuted for their faith. Uncovering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy and fighting to protect life in the courts and in Congress ACLJ would not be able to do any of this without your support for that. We are grateful. Now there's an opportunity for you to help me way limited time you can participate in the ACLJ's matching challenge every dollar you donate $10 gift dollars $50 gift becomes 100. This is a critical time for the ACLJ the work we simply would not occur without your generous record in our matching challenge to make a difference in the protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms you forgive today online ACLJ only one. A society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice. Is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life, we've created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn Gold mission like it will show you how you were personally publication includes a look at all major ACLJ pro-life cases were fighting for the rights of pro-life activist ramifications 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the what Obama care means to the pro-life discover the many ways your membership in a sealed is empowering the right to life question free copy of mission in life today online ACLJ/Jay Sekulow line. This is Jordan secularist is just talked about were breaking the news was released last night. There's federal legislation has been proposed by Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee. The school choice now act basically to provide a pandemic or coded voucher so that parents can choose how to educate their children. During this time of uncertainty about public schooling in private schooling and end homeschooling all this so that they have the funds available and it could be used for four public schooling charter schools that are allowed to open private schools can also be utilized for homeschooling, but this would be at the federal level during the pandemic, so it would affect states, even though states that do not have school voucher programs because of the need that we've been tight.

We know about the need because we have over thousand of folks who have contacted us for legal assistance and were joined right now by very special guest and someone who's provide a lot of expert assistance for us.

He actually was on a conference call with our entire legal team that's handling these over thousand context of company did a call with our legal team yesterday is Cory DeAngelis. He was on a right after me on Fox news this past Sunday. He is the reason foundations, director of school choice, Cory. It's great to have you on the broadcast crabmeat garden court.

First, I want to talk up a forget this federal legislation just came out to it but but I wanted to talk as I taught by the first segment something that you alerted us to yesterday and now we have a folks who are potential clients of at the ACLJ, it's what's happening in now. I think it's three different Arizona cities and school districts tell people because it is outrageous yeah I got it working.

ALJ blood Bay competitions require the government to provide some type of adequate free public education to their family and the Harper state government.

The data they're doing that their schools are reopening in the path of the ACL date for taking all of those legal inquiry that a thousand right now but did not enter thing one that I thought 98 that we talked about yesterday with Gilbert public schools in Arizona Cape Creek unified school district in Arizona and also make the public schools in Arizona. The governor said that the public schools cannot open until at least August 17.

So what's happening at the public school. Elementary schools are reopening but they're calling them childcare centers and by the way they're charging families hundred and 50 to 200… Hundred dollars per child per week for something that the party paying to the property tax system so it actually a form of extortion, but private score doing it.

They took your tuition dollars instead of by the way when I can open and let you pay us double time when I can give your tuition dollars back in by the label will reopen bubble childcare centers. I think most people think and be ridiculous for private school and absolutely ridiculous.

Especially when the Arizona Constitution says that the government must provide a free, free public education not doing that this change in the name of schooling. They're not giving people the educational services are giving people less services than they were before. There is watching the children and their charting family double charging families double it would be $640 per student, months, or $160 a week that's one of the programs and incorporate this is starting when school would've been starting and of course that's public school you wouldn't be paying anything extra for. We pay for with our taxpayer dollars but you would be paying an extra fee. So there starting this program. When school would've started which is August 3 or fourth in most of these cities, and so there starting it when public school would've started calling it something different and charging you hundred $60 a week per student for me.

That's what is so absurd here. I need to think about that EMA public folder charting $200 per child per week, you multiply that by 40 week per school year. At about the same amount that that Arizona public schools are spending per child per year. That 8000, $9000 per child per year.

There literally charting the family double and think about it, that the family talking about be most negatively affected by that party. Lower income families that rely on to income to get by, to provide other services for their children food and shelter and otherwise, and often a single parent household that were relying on them to provide that childcare service to begin with that truly a tragedy for families in Arizona right now and it seemed like it it it it would be a constitutionally allowable thing that's going on in Arizona right now the starting families twice for something a plus B.

Some folks were on this. I want to know that were on this topic and works with Cory Cory's assisted the ACLJ. With that said, because remember for us to do anything. We gotta have clients to represent and people in those districts in those school students in those schools. He's assistance with that he is again he's at credentials is the director of the reason foundations or school choice program is also an adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute and the Executive Director of the educational freedom Institute, the court held that the bigger picture as well because we we've been working on school choice and defending it in court for decades but but we what we watch also like a legal initiative.

This was before we initially started doing these closure cases as well, but a legal initiative to expand school choice.

What do you think, what about the new proposal and it would just came out from Tim Scott and Lamar Alexander Lamarr examiner that the US senators to provide basically like pandemic vouchers to families so they have a school choice option at least during this pandemic, even if they're in states that don't have school choice reopening today. It is ridiculous that people get to keep your money even though the real thing to think about it. With that Walmart doesn't reopening can take your money elsewhere in the community college that reopening can take Pell grant your G.I. bill elsewhere, but anything with K-12 education but like at a school twice now at things very interesting. I will had been On federal torchlight before because I don't think the federal government has a legitimate role in education. The word education is in the Constitution, but luck was practically speaking, this money is already going to be spent for the stimulus bill.

I think a large and substantial portion of that should go directly to families instead of school for them is already money that's already existing.

I think a good idea to allocate those dollars directly to the families that are in need. Right now, not to the school for some better to escalate the money anyway. And I agree with you. Education is up to the states and and that's who decides their voucher programs. What kind of school choice programs they have that what the courts have said is basically they can do it and they can do it very widely way to do it's as well, and that whether it's you want to give vouchers, tax credits, of what level how expansive you wanted to be religious schools cannot be excluded private schools.

Charter schools homeschooling included as well but but then to that that bigger picture as well.

Cory because it's something you worked on for much more than just how people can focus on it during this pandemic because everybody's rushing to figure out what they're going to do about a school whether they're concerned about their grandkids their own kids, their guardians of children or just in general, but because of society and the breakdown of society if we don't have an education system.

School choice in general as director school choice. The reason foundation with the organization you are the Executive Director of it Cato as well. I know you got a new book coming out October 7 because we get calls all the time and we talked about school choice about what won't this destroy public schools and well isn't this going to beat Mina a government takeover of the private schools or private religious schools. You have a new book coming out on October 7 I tweeted out the links.

If you go to at Jordan secular you get out you can see what Cory's Twitter account. There you can follow him there.

But you can also get the link to preorder is his a book. It's out October 7 but you can preorder it now.

School choice myths setting the record straight on education, freedom. Cory tell people about that because I will. I'll tell you we have this a very conservative audience supports Yale school choice. Generally, we still get a lot of call saying but if hey, I know I go to my kids go to private school if we allow this is my private school could be taken revised that that the, the, the federal government or the US government or the state governor now is voluntary at school level voluntary at the family level and involuntary at the state level that you don't have to but it the strings are 200 anything. A lot of programs that don't have a lot of regulation, the type type fund, but each individual private school and family to build a make that cost benefit for themselves or the funding worth the additional regulatory thought, and I will do yet there's a lot of other methods will select the date that run rampant that there is enough school school 20 defined public schools or stipend lay money from public schools, but the reality is that the public will fit them tight and delay money from family, school, plaintiffs return that money in the hands of the rightful owners we can find the student than not them fund equity and he can even call universal basic education income you BEI if you want a lot of people pay off the similar method that will place will harm the unit left behind in the public schools and that nothing is further than the truth.

20 think the 28th that he is on topic find that can edit pressures from school flight complete the better outcome in the public school system folks really do take your phone calls on this on the federal legislation was just proposed to to follow Cory DeAngelis it's DeAngelis Cory if you go to my twitter account right now. You can follow him because I put his twitter account. They are his and the link to his new books you can preorder it on Amazon like I have a new book is school choice myths setting the record straight on education is the director school choice for the reason foundation is also seeking find out more about his writings at reason.or, if you look under experts just go to Cory DeAngelis reason.org Cory, thank you so much for your assistance. The ACLJ legal efforts in picture below. They are with us will have the on-again souvenir book comes out. Only one of society can agree that the most vulnerable.

Is there any hope for that culture to survive.

And that's exactly what you are saying when the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life. We've created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn Gold edition will show you how you personally. Publication includes all major ACLJ were fighting for the rights of pro-life activist ramifications 40 years later, when Obama care means many ways your membership is empowering the right question for mission life today online/the American Center for Law and justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom. Protecting those faith uncovering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy fighting to protect life courts and in Congress. ACLJ would not be able to do any of this. For that we are grateful. Now there's an opportunity for you to help me way limited time you can participate in the ACLJ's matching challenge every dollar you donate $10 gift gift becomes 100. This is a critical time for the ACLJ. The work we simply would not occur without your generous record in our matching challenge make a difference in protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms you forgive today online okay Jay Sekulow Jordan secular was great temporary autonomy that Arizona example to go through that again. She got three school districts that Cory identified force that arts saying that well since the governor said we can't start school so far until August 14.

That could of course go longer were going to start school when it would usually started which is like August 3 or fourth for most of those cities over to quality childcare and instead of school really use the same building that you pay for your taxpayer dollars, but for your kid to go to that elementary school student to go to that when it would usually be the time of the schools open so for them to actually still go to the school just call it a different name.

You gotta pay somewhere between $160-$200 a week so you're talking about $640-$800 a month per student and that's to go to the same school with the same kids, but the schools are shut down because the pandemic now that if they were offering the service at no cost that would be such a totally different matter.

If they were saying hey you know which week we can't do full scores. We can bring all the teachers right now because the health concerns, but we can we can provide care and since you arty pay your taxpayer dollars to fund the school and fund the fund the staff to keep the school going. If you want to you can send your kids you can send your kids in. That's one thing but to to charge $160-$200 per student a week within it's just I get there creativity and again nights I'd say I would say kudos to them if they did it at no cost because they've Artie got taxpayer resources and federal resources, but to charge parents money for this change the name and use the same building to me is just one of the most absurd stories I've heard yet of what's happening in states across the country.

Why would ask a couple of questions and then Jordan.

First of all I would ask what are you using the tax dollars that you continue to get if you're not going to use them for this creative solution that you put out there if you can require private dollars dollars for people who are already paying tax dollars to provide education for the service where those dollars. They Artie spent where are they going Jordan. But look, I think there's really only one solution for this, and that is that if were going to issue additional dollars during the pandemic pandemic for states and localities to come up with creative solutions Jordan wheat wheat we just can't give it to jurisdictions like this who are going to spend it this way, we have to make sure that it follows the students and that parents get the opportunity to decide, and quite honestly, that's the thing that I like the most about this legislation from Sen. Scott that the conversation you had just a minute ago with Cory.

Usually when we see pieces of legislation come from Washington DC Jordan.

It means that the feds are making all of the decisions without the dollars are spent, and that's exactly the opposite in this. In fact, I would encourage people to go read the bill, it's only 24 pages long, and if they read a short section between pages 11 and 13. You will find all sorts of prohibitions against the federal government away and then they say that that that anybody who takes these dollars cannot discriminate against private schools or homeschooled or or or charter schools, and cannot be used to exclude a faith-based schools door and so essentially what it does is it takes the money that's going to be spent already and turns it over to parents to decide how they are gonna spend the dollars and honestly Jordan, I expect we'll see more examples like Arizona really the only way to fully get around it is to make sure that new dollars come forward don't flow to jurisdictions, but it flows. Instead, the parents folks over garage or phone calls way hundred 684-3110 galore in Texas online one lar welcome to Jay Sekulow live your on the air guard and crank them.

I Appreciate being here appreciate all your particular outline will differ nine in a school district. Fort Bend INT in Texas different school districts are doing different things are the defendant on order creative the way you just talk about Arizona. I don't know if they'll be a cost that they are going to the learning center so the kit can go there and then log on to their teachers from their online and that learning patterns are to be staffed by I'm reading this classroom a extended learning staff, which is before and after school care people and well-qualified drivers. So here's my challenge that special needs kid. He has an IEP education plan even inclusion child but most of that class that, though he's not in life skills, and you know they're pretty much tell me you have to go to a life skills class or he's gonna have to do this or do it from home, none of which meet any of his individual education plan.

So what I want to listing right now. It's important what you know what the IED the individual education plan to suffer, but what a life skills class would be to some people who may not be in that situation understand what you talk about different school district are called in different things like that was basically it. When they just learn the basics like now activities of daily living. How to get through life. It's minor. There's much less academic. In some cases very little and so my child exactly what that higher functioning than some of the children in their in different cases until he even inclusion which means in a regular Janet classroom with assistant modification so he could be with his peers. Learning the same types of information they would learn in general education content and inclusion minute mark something as soon as they Was completely taken out and back and had to just do online staff with the special education class which is the life scale class or he had a teacher that will come on and work with them a little bit. Tina Pearson beginning in March and I am an individual education plan. And I've been told I and final like online learning and change all appeared planning and because impacted. Not all school districts have the same impact 1 mile from where I rented another district that is opening school on day one. Furthermore, we have little I have one that we supply cave that can help children like him, but I certainly is a single mom medical healthcare worker and a nurse practitioner Fort Bend and there without help. So I want you to do this because I seek you just mention two things. One might be important to have this federal legislation available to you because these other school districts that are offering you the right next-door but to I want you to go lar specifically because your story were hearing to it.

Too often, as I see too often we hear about those students with special needs who have of federal protections at the federal level, there are laws about its education, that individuals with disabilities education act, other state laws to protect those students.

There's the individual education plans that states offer that.

So they put this into both the federal and state law as things they must give you, and now they're not. And it's not satisfactory to use. I want you to go to ACLJ.org/help lar I need you to add ACL data/help you fill out the contact form so we can contact you and ACLJ attorney can contact you and make sure you know that you spoke to me. They spoke to Jordan you are live on the air today on Jay Sekulow live, you told your story to our whole audience about what's happening so it ACLJ attorney. One of us can reach out to you and Ed tried and see what assistance we can offer you are, but I so appreciate you calling and telling the story as well. I we we come back folks. We will continue second half hour to take your calls at one 800 684 31 to we'll talk more about the school choice now act and former US ambassador to Japan current U.S. Senate candidate endorsed by Donald Trump, Bill Haggerty will be joining us in the next are the broadcast fuel to check that out. As always, it's a matching challenge, but that ACLJ.org we need your financial support donate online ACLJ.org the American Center for Law and justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ matching challenge for every dollar you donate, it will be now $10 gift becomes $20, $50 gift becomes 100 you can make a difference in protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms to you and your family. Give a gift today online okay live from Washington DC Jay Sekulow and secular Port Angeles. From the reason foundation is the director of school choice there. He's got a new book coming out as well.

October 7.

You can preorder now at Amazon, called school choice myths setting the record straight on education freedom. These also been involved helping our team one on the policy side of this to even on the client side of this.

He's identified that Arizona issue, where the schools are that we talked about whether they are changing their name even though the governor has said, you can't open in Arizona at least till mid August they changing the name of the school to childcare center.

The public school at the elementary level changing the name using the same building, but charging parents hundred $60-$200 per student a week so up to $800 a month or $9000 a year if these closures continue to go to the same place. By the way it starts when public school would've started but to go to it.

You've got to pay and so check out his new book as well. School choice myths I can preorder it at Amazon and taken find out more about his work@reason.org. If you look under experts will see Cory DeAngelis and see all his work on school choice coming up later in the broadcast as well. A former US ambassador to Japan and current U.S. Senate candidate Bill Haggerty. He is been Bill Haggerty's been endorsed, endorsed by Pres. Trump. He was also I get is a former US ambassador to Painesville.

The broadcast before talk about all these issues because a former US ambassador Japan dealt with China significantly. So on the covert issue, especially at as it was a candidate who's having to campaign during a pandemic.

You always got interesting perspective as well. Something in Japan. He was also as as as what I'll talk about with him yet. He was the investor Japan at a time is nominated by Pres. Trump is been endorsed by Pres. Trump that you can arty vote in Tennessee now. Early voting for the primaries open of the actual primaries August 6 for election day but you know he was.

He was in Japan as ambassador and there was no investor yet confirmed because of Chuck Schumer at a for South Korea while North Korea was launching ICBMs and testing hydrogen bombs.

So it really talk to him about that talked about covert as well and the education issue. The economic issues so that's coming up to fuel to find out more about him its team Haggerty.com team Haggerty it's H a GER TY.com that's come up later. The broadcast, then we got this question Facebook I want you to just readdress it. It's in the new legislation by Sen. Scott and Alexander school choice now act Jean on Facebook said. How would these vouchers work is a full tuition. Would you be left with the balance of the private school about how what you what would the government be covering here it's great question Jordan. They would not be one-size-fits-all, so not to be able answer this question specifically to a specific purpose.

Here's how it would work as the various coronavirus stimulus packages move forward and there is expected to be another one debated, maybe even finished as soon as next week that might be a little ambitious Jordan were talking about a very short timeline. It is almost certain that there will be money inside there for education purposes. Leader McConnell is proposing 105 billion. I would suggest to you that's probably the floor. What this legislation put forward by Sen. Scott would say is that for any dollars in those stimulus packages at least 10% that is allocated for education purposes have to go to this what were calling a voucher program he ski calls it scholarship program in Jordan and essentially states would have to give those dollars to private entities inside the state that are allocating those scholarships. Now they could not discriminate against homeschooling or private schools or charter schools, but it would be those private scholarship granting entities that would make the decisions I would just apply very specifically to caller.

We just had from Laura.

I think there would be plenty of those organizations that would love to consider someone like Loris child for a scholarship and then Laura could use those dollars for whatever curriculum and for whatever program she thought met the child best Jordan it's not federal control. It's not even state control its parental control using federal stimulus dollars. I think it's a win-win on both ends of the backward take your phone calls 164 3110 come up later broadcast Bill Haggerty for investor Japan and current U.S. Senate candidate Tennessee over a thousand families or contact us. We can provide free legal assistance because of your support of the ACLJ donate online ACLJ.org the American Center for Law and justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad. This is a critical time for the ACLJ the work we simply would not occur without your generous take part in our matching challenge make a difference in protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms you forgive today online ACLJ only one. A society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice. Is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stay with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life, we've created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn Gold edition will show you how you personally. Publication includes all major ACLJ were fighting for the rights of pro-life activist ramifications 40 years later, when Obama care means to discover the many ways your membership is empowering the right question for mission life today online ACLJ/Jay Sekulow like this Jordan secular's are good people to not only the right to phone calls.

The new federal legislation is been proposed a seat like a pandemic voucher invincible explaining what would be available.

There's proposed by US Sen. Tim Scott and Sen. Lamar Alexander Tim Scott of South Carolina Lamar Alexander of Tennessee is called the school choice now act I'm holding my hand for Facebook and periscope audience. This would basically be like a parent. Dimmick voucher a covert voucher offer for parents afoot to utilize for their students because of all the issues surrounding education. As we well know, at the American's are flawed justice that's happening at the federal level and of course we now are or have been contacted by over 1000 families in more than 25 states across the country who believe they may need legal assistance because they're facing some kind of significant hardship. Whether it's like Lars qualities that special-needs child or its economic hardship that were that were there's no school being offered or there's no plan or a week that that the list goes on and on and we talked about that will continue. Talk about that were able to assign what is he a huge team of attorneys handling all of those coming in@aclj.org/help were able to do this absolutely free for everyone. By the way, those are like the only cases that come into ACLJ.org//help every day we filed just last week in California. We sued the governor and other state officials because of their ban on singing in church we represent three churches there. It's at no cost those churches because your support of the ACLJ we do all the pro-life cases at no cost those clients is your support for the ACLJ. This is a matching challenge month and we are inundated folks, that's great why we exist is to help people and I'm excited that we are able to provide a service during covert during this pandemic at no cost to people who really need help to provide them with the same cut same attorneys that represent the President of the United States before the United States Supreme Court same attorneys to represent the present United States during impeachment trial U.S. Senate.

There he will get that same legal assistance at no cost. Because of those of you who financially support the ACLJ it's a tax-deductible donation and this is a matching challenge month now.

I know some folks are in tough financial times right now. Don't donate. If you are, but if you're in if you are able to visit matching challenge month so it is a great time to support the work of the ACLJ as we are inundated with cases and expanding where you having to potentially expand attorneys out in states across the country to handle all these potential cases that are coming in in just the last 10 days. If you donate today and ACLJ.org. Your donation is effectively doubled.

So if you donate even five dollars. That's like $10. The ACLJ because we have a group of donors that say for every donation comes in the month of July. We will match that. But you have to take that initial gift take that initial action.

There's no match without your initial donation. Welcome to Jay Sekulow live call. I am the parent of the child in one of the classes I'm also a special education teacher trying to meet the need that my PhD student in my food that they eat on.

I think in a nonpublic school that is designed for students who are too violent for regular classroom and they think I'm wondering about the fight (and aren't really thrilled with the idea that I have to come to like mine because it can be a little. I don't know what to call it 30 point say luck. You either take it home and homeschool them directly because he cannot bear danger to other students and teachers that take place in and give them the ability to say no.

My son is not on my daughters not going to go to that school was going to.

We want them to stay in the program or taken to a private school that may not have the facilities and the ability to meet their needs.

There credit can use it any other way to kind of bludgeon pools and get into parking their children into places where they really don't think this is all as well as those issues of people get concerned about, which is trying to force it and by the way, Lisa, thank you for your service. As a teacher and we talk about teachers unions a lot here but that's not about the teachers themselves as a special needs teacher trying everything you can put the fan.

This legislation is not about bludgeoning parents or or or forcing students into sump into a place they aren't what unfortunately were seeing is that happening too much at the state level yet know it's about making dollars available to parents to send their child to the place that best meets their needs.

I would say this to Lisa I I'm quite certain that the school she is referencing would qualify under this act to receive dollars that flow down from the federal government through the scholarship granting entities, but Jordan it we will not be the authority of the scholarship granting entities to determine who is eligible and who is not to use the dollars they will be actually a receiving dollars and then making them available for parents and students to apply for to use it. The institution of their choosing.

So they are knocking to be in the business of telling a student where he or she must attend. There can be in the business of offering scholarships for students that apply according to their criteria so I don't think Lisa has something to worry about as far as the bludgeon goes a but I will say that entity will not be able to force a child to go to her errands, addition, nor do I think we would want them to go to Jerry and Rhode Island on line 5 Jerry welcome to Jay Sekulow live your on the air clear on the on the situation you don't think building at the same school times, but call the character whose care for the kids, teachers, or separate contract caregivers can walk like… Like about it is probably a mix. I think you are probably not forcing teachers back because a lot of teachers unions have various reasons why they will go back and some teachers might be doing it but still they're paying think they would have the resources with taxpayer dollars regardless if it's the students that if they will not provide a program like this at no additional cost because they are to get your you're already paying for it.

We all pay for. Even if you don't use public schools.

Even if you don't have kids in the schools anymore or you don't have kids, you still pay for public school and usually pay for it.

You're in your state tax dollars local tax dollars federal tax dollars.

And so if they would've said he really do this program and is not to be additional cost. I think that's thinking outside the box in a good way because, go to start exactly the same time as the school year would've started what they're saying is, since the governor said we can't have school until at least August 14 that could of course get pushback and we usually start August 3 or fourth will do this child will will change the name of the public school to a childcare center and you can send your kid even though you'd usually be free at this point so that like a special summer program you have to pay for. This is during the normal school year so but now you gotta pay for it so I mean there's the clarity for that's the difference is that unlike a summer program that might exist where you do have to pay. Additionally for your child to be part of that make exist in a public school there, specifically starting these cost programs that you have to pay additional money for at least 160 in one city in Arizona up to 200 in another city sets up to $800 a month per elementary student. It's starting the exact same time public school would be starting their what does that mean you would be paying.

Additionally, she having to pay twice you're still being taxed. School can't technically open but it is opening and you can send your kid there as long as you pay $200 a week with that is that is how outrageous a play like a sword goes from Vicki outside the box in a good way to to being something that I believe it. Again, this is just early assessment of violates potential laws at the state level the Constitution as well, as is again potentially federal laws as well. We are already aside, working with individuals with kids in those school districts in Arizona.

We can do all this work folks because of your support of the ACLJ with a matching challenge right now@aclj.org had over thousand of these families contact us in just 10 days.

When it is great actually to join in the studio assume it is been a guest on this broadcast is been a guest on the broadcast.

What I posted Sean Hannity's broadcast, as well as my Gallagher's broadcast fellow Tennessean is in the studio with us today that is former ambassador to Japan current U.S. Senate candidate Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Tennessee Bill Haggerty Besser Haggerty is great to have you here with us, please call me Bill is great to be back with you a bit. Let me just say this to you, we attend even the same church here in Tennessee but we it interesting enough just for our audience to know that while we had recently moved here where production studio is a and and joined the church regarding the investor in Japan and you were nominated by Pres. Trump and you were that the leader leader lead of the Trump campaign in Tennessee back in 2016, but that you every day every Sunday during the liturgy at church. We pray for our leaders and we always prayed for ambassador Haggerty and his family and so we didn't we didn't get a chance.

I should meet in person. We talked a lot to regular things because of coven, but that but we do attend a lot of the same places and now here we are finally back in the studio together and it's great that it's great to be with you and thank you for your prayers for me and my family was the greatest privilege to serve in the Trump administration and represent our nation and the third largest economy in the world. And frankly Jordan it's the point we deal with all of the threats in the Asia-Pacific region. So every day is a senior American. There I was dealing with issues related to North Korea and most importantly China you were just endorsed by someone that a lot of folks who listen to this broadcast around the country really likes it or a Marsha Blackburn also Sen. Tom cotton but do I want people know little bit about your background as well so they know now that you've been the investor we talked about that before we know the issues facing it with China and coven.

I will talk about that a second, but your background as well, fourth generation Tennessean. I was born here in Tennessee I'm from Gallatin, Tennessee, a small town, Sumner County. We have a small farm. There my parents are both products of the depression. My mother started teaching high school days, 19, my dad got a work permit back when he was 14 years old to begin work in the farms there in Sumner County and made his career in road construction that never had a college degree but he worked hard, so did my mom and they taught us strong conservative Tennessee values the trust will have a Christ. They taught us to love our country.

They taught us to love one another, and they certainly taught us the value of hard work.

Tell people about your decision to talk to Pres. Trump about you been endorsed by Pres. Trapani. One of the first candidates in the country and especially because it is what I've worked on like campaigns not a lot of primary candidates specially at the U.S. Senate level get Presidential endorsements, but this present present Trump endorsed you, but you talk to them as you made were making that decision with your family to leave the role as investor trip to Japan during what was you were there during a time with.

I want to tell that story about North Korea and in that you told us that you missed for K-1 air but but talk about experience and why you decided this was the time to run for U.S. Senate in the Jordan. I'm very concerned about where country is, I feel like were at a crossroads right now you just turn on the TV night you see it you see chaos in our streets, writing, losing their turndown are statues trying to destroy her history for going after our religious freedom through you know you got black lives matter, calling for the removal of Jesus Christ from our churches got Planned Parenthood right here in Tennessee burning the American flag me there is no greater act of disrespect on the present Trump burner flight. You should go to jail and frankly I got a better idea than than the Democrats plan.

The Democrats want to define and dismantle our police should defund Planned Parenthood once and for all, but it's that sort of challenge that to put into us with the Democrats are trying to do is align with the socialist organizations and pushes over the cliff into socialism and we lack leadership on the Republican side to stand up to it. You got Republicans like Mitt Romney marching with black lives matter.

This is a Marxist organization that wants to tear America part, by its very fabric got Republicans calling for the removal of Columbus Day. We need Senators with guts with leadership in the backbone to stand up and say enough's enough to stand what makes America strong. That's what I want to be a tigress in a different cemetery function. We like to bring you interesting guest on this broadcast people there to provide you your information that you wouldn't hear elsewhere mean so you former ambassador during the situation of former Besser to Japan with art, with the largest US military base and in the form in the world during what was happening with North Korea at a time when there was no investor to South Korea to try to bring these guests in this broadcast not to tell you week we can tell you to vote for. But what I can tell you is that if you want to learn more up and you are Tennessee voter or arts and supporting Bill Haggerty you go to team Haggerty. It's H a GE RT wide team Haggerty.com and to get ads Bill Haggerty, but talk people to before providers before we get to the covert situation and schools because I think that's the economics I think that is what's on the top people's mind.

That story told about taking your family. While that you say what happens with that while you were Besser, Japan no investor in South Korea from the US at the time because of Democrats holding up confirmations and North Korea launched ballistic missiles and testing hydrogen bombs and what you did, what was it was a terrible time in our nation's history and Barack Obama was President. If you think about it, leading from behind was their theme and with North Korea. They called the strategic patients was. I can translate for you. What that means means looking the other way. So Kim's and insignificantly ramped up his nuclear ambitions. While Pres. Obama was in office.

Then what happened. He wants to an account ballistic missiles over Japan detonated a hydrogen bomb and I can tell you the tension in Japan was enormous. It was so bad because Japan is the only nation in the world is ever been on the receiving end of a nuclear weapon schoolchildren wearing hard hats doing evacuation drills in central Tokyo. We needed American leadership more than ever. At that point time so I worked with our local military there and that US forces Japan and with US forces Korea made the arrangements and I took Chrissy and her four kids over to the border of South Korea. My children were eight 1012 and 14, together with the US military escort, we crossed the border from South Korea and North Korea. Why do we do that because I wanted to demonstrate my complete confidence in the US military's ability to protect me and my family the same way the US military was going to be able to protect the Korean Peninsula the same way they were going to protect Japan. That was an important message that only an America consent and that it just underscores the fact that American leadership is needed throughout the world is a prime. The primary is August 6 here in Tennessee for the Senate Republican private early voting already going on right now if if you're like to go in November were still good to be facing a lot of the situations I know your talk about right now to people as you travel the state's were talking people on radio every day. One is with schools not maybe not reopening virtual I we were representing right now. We had a thousand people contact us last 10 days, just about a potential legal representation because they're facing a significant hardship that could actually be actionable in court, or at least at the state level administrative level so we were inundated with this. The ACLJ is all related to Covina. Of course it has the economic impact so it when you make it to Washington DC and after you win in November you had we had we addressed this bill yet about a minute 50 left but but I know this is just on the top people's minds. Make no mistake, China causes pandemic. They took our jobs taken millions of data taken millions of jobs and hundreds of thousands of lives were on the go round the world. I want to hold China accountable. We need to get our schools back. Open again with most innovative nation in the world. We can do it we can afford another shutdown of our economy, we need a person like me with real solid business experience and knows how our economy works want to be that representative for Tennessee. The true conservative that has present Trump's full endorsement there.

The choices in this race but I'm the only true conservative. The only one endorsed by present Trump enforcement endorsed by Sen. Marcia Blackman Bill Haggerty is great to have you.
