Gentlemen, welcome and I missed you Morgan you doing well yeah yeah yeah you had code you know I have not two shots and a booster and I mask up quite a bit. Yeah I got my booster yet, but I didn't. I didn't feel too good. We went skiing and came back in was low under the weather for couple of days and never got tested or anything, but I'm hoping that was just just or just a regular cold again.

We went to Wintergreen as I had in the Wintergreen in 20 years we got up there a few weeks back we got up there right before big snow and about 622 60 so I'm pretty dangerous on skiing this picture of health way your 260. That's mom is my parenting plan I want my boys to be able to go anywhere and do anything. At least have something to reach back on and so this part of my plan so that when they go skiing in youth group or college trips will know how to ski will be afraid of it. So, so we did that, but did we all got a little something on the way back with another family and and I never tested but hopefully was just a cold.

It came in came and went, but I know a lot of folks here at the office we seen a lot of the omicron come through and seems like everybody's getting in Jane you guys here lately. I ask I have ducted here lately did not do a great job of ducking it early on. I actually, it hit me in the face several times is probably the reason why I've been able to duck it lately and you catch it so many times and it it decimates you. I think you just get used to it and then it is not much you can do to you after that point so but you have been fortunate enough to duck it like you said lot of folks around us. A lot of folks in the office. A lot of the clients we work with tons of people have come down here lately with omicron knock on wood. Fortunately seems to be a bit milder than than what we saw before you know it doesn't seem to be quite as intense but yes, I'm sound. My goal is to continue to duck it. How how unlucky can you be man. I don't believe that at some point I just stop getting it in my family stops getting it and ride off into the sunset of health until the next terrible disease comes out. I predicted I had predicted to my my wife are trying to molest my predicted that this next like this week.

If people can't get in testing like we were just we went in. I'm not a mandate guy don't. I'm not a big finish that stuff down but at some point we will have anybody's to do anything, you know, everybody will have to take a week off just just get back. Back in the play, but yeah I was I was shy was just curious.

After like everybody has it right now inside of sub wants and that and then I've been watching you know I'm I grew up here in the Raleigh Garner Fuquay area and Joe, we know you're from that, click Garner area. The billing a lot about this is nothing to do with the wall. By the way guys this just on my been thinking about. I can't remember ever being this down on an ACC basketball season.

Being from this area. Like I've said like I have no yeah I get to get the state game go in my not watching on TV enter Carolina they're not doing really well, which is great for me no problem with that but let you know I do guy is doing okay Joe, from what I can tell, but her roots doing just fine. Josh, I have never been this did they beat Clemson last night right yet Eddie Clinton is a closer game than you would think they were down a starter so we can be too upset with them but I think what you're trying to get Josh and I agree with you it's it's not it's not just state. It's not just Carolina. It what it is. Is it the entirety of the conference like I can't remember a time that top to bottom unit outside of Duke.

Obviously that there's been so much just mediocrity. Man, there's no that the lack of rate teams and you know you can look at Miami's plane pretty well right now for states playing pretty well right now. Of course Duke's plan pretty well right now. Outside of that it's a crapshoot man in some you could you would think that might be more entertaining like there's a lot of parity. Anybody can beat anybody, but I just I just think it's it's boring man as I review it's really lost my interest in or the Panthers this year really bad and I say football is really good at a lot of fun was say football is great. Happy you deserve that some and looking forward to next year basketball you have the Gaza plans ours they can like don't think you watch the state team. There not being lazy there there giving it their all. You know, so I had a horse and injury man, you can't out plan for unit. Arguably, your best player to go down and I mean that's tough for anybody to overcome. But what I started thinking about is really hard because the other night we watched for those who listen often you might not have married into the bills rights of the Buffalo Bills. Not my home team but I married into Buffalo Bills fandom, my family's big Josh Allen folks, but I was at Bill's cheapskate my site. I have never watched the size of the state.

Carolina football game this year like I can't last time I watched a college game that kind of energy that kind of wild momentum swing so that was a good A. That was it on you mean you can watch any there's very few games in any sport at any level there to match that game hen and just the insanity of it just just sheer insanity of the last the last minute and 1/2 of regulation that I've never seen anything like it and people are going to talk about that particular game. But not only that game guys you mention it the entire weekend all the other games were decided by a field goal mean and last-second, and there upsets and wanted me out of points but manually the crescendo is the end of the weekend. Manson are going holy yet with nuts man I tell you, you know, Josh, you're under your wife's big bills fan I know you guys probably felt like a lot of stress and a lot of tension during that game, I can tell you who had more stress and tension during a game and that was sports bettors because that was just that it did the back-and-forth man. It was just insanity. What was the way I don't know the wind was the line on my game a little line. I want to say that the line was, I think it was. I think the Chiefs were favored by 2 1/2 points of amounts. It may have been. It may have been three points may been somewhere in that range is what it was, it was not. They were not a heavy favorite. I think they anticipated being a pretty close game but yeah, crazy man crazy.

It will be tough for this coming weekend's games to top the games from last week but very super entertainment makes up for the doldrums of the ACC here late. Yeah, just as what I'd I was going to jump on the ACC guys and just agree with you when we only have you as a conference one in the top 25 and is Duke and you see postgame press conferences from you know Hubert Davis worries concerned about the energy of the team and mean these are things you just don't hear and in the Atlantic Coast conference and you we get pounded on when it comes to football, but we always have basketball to hang your hat on his being the elite conference and this year we are not.

If you don't. If you have basketball. No, I don't know, to guide them and that's the sore none. For I have taken some solace. The hurricanes keep grinding it out. They seem fine. You know what I'm I think about the law man unanswered the statement.

I think they are doing fantastic but yet so when I think about law take solace in sports and and and so anyway I guess since we are that low lawyers we should talk about the law. Today we've got a couple things on on on deck.

We're in a talk a lot of updates. There's been a lot of things of the past couple weeks. Things that we talked about will for that, moving through the legal system, money is important thing to mediate as a bad job of this setting is important to keep up with them and see what's happening in the appeals process you know it's it's more than just the one one-shot story. A lot of these things and so you Supreme Court's doing a lot of stuff to a lot of cases it's coming in stork depending on what side you you you fall on here will be whether it's good to stork about a stork, but W historic US Supreme Court session. So where do we start Morgan Maxwell to join Maxwell trial wrapped up a couple weeks ago. I think we talked about on the show. She was found guilty of a couple accounts. Just a reminder that was a federal criminal trial not only some the things we talk about her happening in state court. Joe we talked about it before these federal trials don't get a lot of times the same coverages estate trial just because of their not as accessible right. The judge might not allow cameras in a courtroom in a federal court. You know, just try to protect jurors in a different light. So reporters even. I guess if we assume that they're trying to do really good job access is always a problem federal versus state. Yes, right, Josh week we talked about the fact that these these federal trials don't seem to get the same level of coverage and I think a lot of that. Like you said, is to do with the lack of access.

And you know we as a society when you don't when you're looking at secondhand accounts and you know roughly sketch drawings of the proceedings. It's it it doesn't capture our attention. It is a captivate is quite as much but but even beyond that mean this is something that you know we we talked about should be super interesting news and something that you would think would be getting heavy coverage in the media and in it didn't didn't seem to get the same level of coverage, especially in in the US as it did in other places it was and is as heavily covered.

As we anticipated it might be and yet I don't know if it's a combination of factors. If it's the fact that there is that that different level of access that reduced level of access from if it was a trial were you could have recording of every single thing taken place, or the subject matter. I don't know exactly what it was but but strange to say the least. You know my undergrad I know I missed this before my undergrad was focused. I was a English history major and English, with a focus in journalism over NC State University and and so I always find it interesting how things get covered it in this one. She was convicted faces that she hasn't been sentenced yet 60 up to 65 years in prison. I think most people or estimation is a lot less in prison than that, but suddenly know where I first caught wind of the juror who was talking to somebody over. I can't remember what the outlet was but they were interviewing a juror in the juror basically said that they had not revealed.

I guess one of the questions on the questionnaire for prospective jury members was. Have you ever been a victim of sexual assault. Obviously something the defense would want to know during war Dyer owned their picking a jury and so this person had not revealed that information and then, in an interview this juror mentioned that they use that in fact had been a victim of of sexual abuse and that they use this experience in getting the jury to all come together and mix is actually being a big deal. The defense attorneys had no notice of this is the current news on this trial. The story is that there you Maxwell's attorneys have requested a new trial. I can't remember where I got first wind of the story. I picked it up somewhere my normal routine so American new sources but then I had to get to the BBC and Al Jazeera to really get what I think is good coverage of of that but yeah just interesting that that was it should've been a bigger story than it was, I think are some conspiracy theories out there. Why was I getting coverage but I don't usually buy into conspiracy theories thing is just you know is just the way it is. But is that you have to go international get covered good coverage of a US event US trial yeah yeah it's it's it's a little disconcerting, but but but I'm glad you were resourceful you could go pull that information for some bring it back bring it back to the states for us anytime I'm I'm going to Al Jazeera for for news. You know just fills anybody do a good job on a lot of stuff outside not to disparage them, but it always feels weird when I can get a AP New York Times and the Wall Street Journal order. Even the scene ends and the Fox news is soaked anyways. That was that was one thing that we been following closely will continue to follow it. I think they probably had a pretty good argument for new trial will see what the judge doesn't hip out the appeal process goes, but you know just had a left field new trial.

United is crazy to me that you but it's facts that came to light after the fact, that would in theory have maybe affected the outcome of that strike that juror without knowledge and put a new juror in place but don't want to spend a little excellent bold prediction is that the, the, if there is a new trial granted it gets 50% even less coverage than this trial. Did I think it'll be even less less covered and less the in the public eye.

That's my prediction. Let's get prediction exist in the hearts card out on it was 65% less coverage to be hard to measure that one course we had a show here recently will read. We talked about Alec Myrdal, the owner that we had yet to hear that he gets upset if you don't pronounce his name and yet I was doing that during the whole show in the name Alec Chloe Murdoch believe you got more charges this week right so he's got 19 more charges dealing with stealing from his client stealing from his trust account. We talked about as as attorneys. That's like the worst thing you can do you know you murder somebody I think the bar will come out lighter than you stealing from your own trust account. That's a super big mentor for attorneys and he's got like 19 more counts and 8 1/2 million dollars that that he had taken from clients above and beyond what he's already charged with so disguised stories not not getting any better howling and to this I would say that it's going poorly for him and and it looks like my notes show these new indictments actually bring bring his total of charges 271 total sleep looking at is to be getting close to breaking some kind of record.

Man, that's a so you're saying they are just so you're saying the potential to turn this thing around in his favor. Not very good. It's funny this this is, this is off topic and is random but it reminded me somebody. I don't remember who so active in social media sent me a tick-tock and you know we love the tick-tock Josh and it was it was an attorney at a client in court and it was upon hearing and the client had 69 previous convictions and the attorney.

He was like it is argument for why was that sound like a guy that showed up to court, 69, and a great wit is let your eye a correct, this guy is not a flight risk.

69 the Murdoch's got beat by two man I just this story just we waited a long time before he talked about just because I want to see everything, come to fruition and so is his wife and his son who were murdered as are still, that's still being investigated.

There's no he's not charged with that.

There's no charges filed right now for their murderers, but manages one or how someone kept something like that going this long and how I would amend ended in a presumably OPM opioid induced haze to like you know that's that's a I don't know if we should be impressed by that but had to be a stressful life man had not even mentioning the suppose it you know the alleged ties to murderers within the family and then the botched suicide scheme. There's a lot going on and it's a busy guy is. I can't remember that I care in the name of the song leaves me, but there's a good country song talks about you being able to sleep at night thing is inerrant to consult, but a real man if I can't go to sleep at night like I'm done I need like eight hours of uninterrupted sleep in my old age I can't.

I can't. I can't do it the next day, you live a life like this series shows like 72 country songs about not being hypocrites. I could help you with now type in beer and country size and see how many songs, working outward and have more results than Alec Murdoch has brought the thing when I'm thing about its adding it's Aaron Tipton.

I can't name the song is killing me not to get a stand for something song day but anyway talks about the good old fashion if you live your day so you can lay down and sleep.

You don't have any worries or concerns you know you've done everything you can do like anyway. I don't think our friend Alec Murdoch's name things built like that is not spelled like that in the almost dislike and for that pronunciation more than I do the crimes. To be honest with as as a man who has for my whole life mispronounced even the most simplest name them at something like a phonics problem or I don't hear right, but I'm the mispronounced 50% of the names that come before me and that is really trips me up when your name doesn't sound like what it smelled like right Aaron Tipton, you've got to stand for something that has mass was that's what it is. So Alec Murdoch's got a lot going on. I will keep an eye on him. This is an interesting story, especially if you follow true crime type stuff that's that's just interesting but the other officers and George Floyd you I have a Babbitt federal case going on now. They were charged with denying Mr. Florida civil rights, and so that's kinda kicked off and of course the defense is doing everything they can on that one. That's can be interesting to watch to you know the show that is is got his federal charges coming up to us a guilty at the state level but were watching those officers. So it's there's three of them and their charge of depriving Floyd of the civil rights that trial has is well underway course of employment there, blaming their children because he's Artie been convicted and obviously is the one on the video that you see taken the most action course or charges stem from their inaction.

Writing is to be a tough case for the prosecutor's.

These are always kind of tough. So this will be a really interesting one to watch. Probably one it will dive deeper on once it's done kinds of collectibles present for the jury. But it will be interesting. I think yeah I agree. Tough kid. I think it's a tough case for the prosecution, not just because it's it's difficult because you're looking like you said you're looking at in action. You know they're not the primary actor in the situation you're looking at their inaction and yet you put that together with you the potential public pressure that's gonna be associated with it just because it is such a hot button item and I agree an unenviable task for the prosecutors there yeah my bulldog to make a prediction on that one yet to have and I haven't seen enough.

I don't know which way it'll go just just this is coming difficult for the prosecution.

I'm not a huge not a huge fan, but it's not my least favorite genre of music. It's like my second least favorite so we know growing up I did not not like I grew up in the late 80s early 90s.

He did not like country music.

Growing up violently did not like country music. Growing up and I got to college was going to break up my game at best a Hank Williams Junior CV and an old country took over. It's a cover everything Allison says new country like the new countries anything past like 98 for me, maybe 96. I don't like hang out. I try to like some stuff when Scott 96 cut off point random, but I like you read this, if the city there we went to that Luke owns concert. I tried to like I wanted to like it so badly lizard man you are. Like you are in physical pain are member looking at you and think and is Josh is his appendix can expand. I was worried about you.

What you think. If I understand correctly like the guys born in North Carolina is North Carolina guys done really well for himself play the bars. I would have stayed 80s and asked a guy I want to reform so bad man. I guess I still am alone and be successful. But who you can read form. You can root for them and then just denote not be the biggest fan of his music.

I think you can we talk about separating the artist from the art on here and if you can. If you can still be a fan of the Cosby show, you can be a fan of Lou Combs, the person was light reversal Cosby right because I'm separating the art and not liking the art is the same concept, though, man. It's the same thing. It goes both ways. Well, for some reason if Lou Combs listens to the outlaw lawyer. I really I'm a fan of you personally, and one day I hope to grow to the point where I can enjoy your music thereby seems like today I and and I'll just make one comment about Lou Combs and I do like country music did not grow up liking it as classic rock hard rock and then coming out in the country but but Lou Combs and and again country music fans will cringe when I say this I want to say his first 10 releases not from you all the songs that were released went to number one. And I don't think that's the main that's that's incredible. I mean this George generated shedding light in. It might be more than that by now, but it just seemed like everything he released went to number one and this the guy that was playing the Klondike café up and get up in Boone for quarters.

I made it really is an incredible story. Eric church also cut is to have invented yet another guy. I've seen him a couple times and in man is not there yet. I'm to get there. I got a key to success for an artist is for Josh Wicker to hate their music strongly that if you can get that. I think you're on your way to do a big industry. 20 years from now I'll be there. I'll look back. That's why I think you're struggling with right now me and this is a curveball right out of the mean pure blooming. Your throne that Joe the well you know what I actually want to talk about the segment Morgan. I know we were about five minutes and I haven't gotten there yet, but I want to talk a little bit. We talk about a lot of legal topics as the purpose of our show. Here we talk about legal topics that maybe don't get covered in the news quite the same way an attorney might might look at it as we did that some first segment but were also major were practicing attorneys like you say we are the managing partners of Whitaker and Hamer Whitaker. Hamer has six offices they were going to have some announcements in 2022 about some new locations that were going to be branching out into here in North Carolina so we got a lot of it.

Exciting news be a good year in 2022 but Joe I was I was doing, you're in evaluation of of what we took in his law firm. We spent most of our time handling and so the final stats are pretty impressive week we got six offices, which were very proud of. We got nine attorneys over 30 support staff in last year we did a lot of real estate transaction works if you're buying a home your refinancing.

You got a real estate issue a homeowners association issue real estate law took up a lot of me in Joe's time. We did that we had over 4000 residential and commercial real estate closings in 2021. And that's that's a pretty big number. If you don't if you're not in the real estate law attorney game number might not mean a lot to you but that was 4000 clients that we helped purchase a home refinance a home buying office building by investment property sells a lot of people that does not even just the tip of the iceberg unit were thousands of other clients that we help with all kinds of things right or that's right, you know, we are goal, for the firm has always been to to be the communities law firm, you know, not unit were not a true one-stop shop.

There's things that that we don't do that that you are going to have to go to someone who really specializes in that field unit we don't touch any kind of medical malpractice there some other things that that we don't do, but for the very most part you know any any, legal need that you have you know any any day-to-day legal need that you may come across that you have a need for your life. The goals always been note, come to us unit were right here in their community were trying to be in every community.

Frankly, that we can be and we don't want to have to go out of town to take to get whatever help you need and we want to be very very adaptable, very broad in the things that we can assist you with and I think we've done a good job of adding folks to our team and really cannot spread their wings on the things that we do do and and just trying to kinda broaden our horizons to to help a wider range of issues, so we know some of the practice areas. We help people in 2020 when I was going back looking at it. We handled and I will I will do numbers here but with out a ton of traffic tickets. Criminal charges. Well I will go into it, but you couldn't call us will be with personal injury but I said it. Probate your will or administer your state and just a bunch of civil litigation all kinds of of legal disputes you may run into.

They cannot fall under what we would call general civil litigation, but we we helped a lot of people with a lot have a lot of attorneys who spend their time in different practice areas and we do that on purpose so that everywhere that we have an office we have someone new in most every problem a normal person would encounter in their life and like Joe said there are things that we don't handle but we we know very qualified attorneys and other firms that handle his practice areas.

So we take a lot of pride in that. Like Joe said, trying to really serve the communities were relocated so Joe you work you weren't around, you're too young when we first started this firm, we started the firm back in back in 2000 and and four and started our first office was in was in Raleigh all falls of the nuisance and we still maintain an office in Raleigh. But since then we've gone back to Garner where I spent a lot of time growing up we were in Clayton Joe where he spends a lot of time and you grew up. I first started practicing in fee quavering and sore in Fuquay and over the past couple years of expand outside Goldsboro and in Gastonia and I don't know if you're ready to announce it just yet, but fairly soon will have a new office to announce yet think it's safe to to announce working 1/2 a 40 we call it the 4042 area.

The I think it's technically Garner. I think it's a technically a Garner if if you look at the address it's it's a Garner address but I've always just refer to it as at that area where you know 40 and 42 intersect close to the Clayton office but it's kind of a different it's a different location that that will will hopefully be able to serve folks down that way be a convenient spot for for closings in the consults and things like that and and were were super excited about it. We should have that up and going on the website here soon and I think were looking at at early February being up and operational.

There will be great that we will have a full service office in Garner a full service office in Clayton and a full service office and at 40, 42 area and so again it is always been our goal me and Joe and the attorneys that that workforce and the staff all live and work in these areas and to be a resource for people you know I were in this to make money right at me that's that's why we own a law firm.

The plan is to be profitable, but we also want to be a resource for folks. So even if you have a problem that we can't help you with hope you live you live your life you have no problems and you never need an attorney. That doesn't happen very often. Usually duty attorney for something.

Your.com so Supreme Court guys and I got a lot talk about yeah to the US Supreme Court. This this term. This 2021 2022 term is shaping up to be one of the most interesting, be seen and not in a while and it's getting a lot of media coverage because of political events, which is not the goal of the Supreme Court. Your Supreme Court is supposed to be. It's supposed to be a political we all know is not exactly the case on how folks get appointed in some of the arguments during the Trump years. In the end of bioneers over appointees and and people getting confirmed but we we got ourselves very active Supreme Court is not afraid to take cases and and have some hard discussions about a lot a lot of hot button issues. We sing that already Joe with what yes of the cases they've heard on abortion sets a that's a big topic, and most recently and we mentioned this a week or so ago, but of course the court had some tough talk on the. The vaccine mandate on private employers with 100 or more employees. That was something week we saw them. I guess I mean strike down would be the best word writer. I think that's the yeah I mean I don't know what other term you would you would let use their ITS accurate because it's it's not in effect now so I think strike down works and I want to say we predicted that if we didn't then I meant to say. We predicted that you keep to keep our records perfect our perfect prediction record stand. If you if you go back and you look at the oral arguments in some of what Cavanaugh and and here, the majority new OSHA operates via statutory authority.

So Congress has the authority to regulate the workplace and they have delegated a lot of that authority to OSHA and OSHA is the one that actually issued this mandate for for private employers with at least 100 employees to to require the vaccine mandate or some really strict strict penalties on employers right so the reason it private employers to enforce his vaccine mandate and if they didn't do it by certain date certain time with certain exceptions that are big fines to the private employers angles like 14, 15 grant for every offense of this was very heavy-handed and a lot of people even if you support the vaccine.

A lot of people didn't like this approach, I write it like it is a private employer. I was we were subject to it quite that many employees yet.

Maybe one day, but if you tough talk from the Supreme Court this they said OSHA did not have the explicit statutory authority to do this and never do anything like this before. I resent there was in the authority and so they they said no dice, and so I think just the other day. OSHA finally withdrew that mandate. I'm sure they're looking for another angle that something they believe needs to be done, but so that was that I was big news here over the past couple weeks as vaccine mandate did not survive. A couple challenges to the Supreme Court.

That's right just just just like we predicted, just like we predicted, there's a lot of there's some other things going on as well and you I saw that the Supreme Court also on Monday agreed to reconsider the role that race plays in college admissions.

He talked a little bit about that Josh yeah so you know this is always been. I guess you wind up using a lot of buzzwords to cover complicated legal theories and and and I think over time we can all lose track of what these words originally meant in and eat you gotta do it yet a summarize things but affirmative action is is one that you hear a lot in this debate, but obviously in order to create a more diverse student population. Colleges have used race in the admission process to some extent and there's been a lot of case law over the past 2030 years about what colleges can use how they can use it and at nearby is kind of on the same page that a more diverse student body in a colleges is is a good thing.

I think a lot of people disagree. So maybe how we get there, and so the Supreme Court has agreed to hear a couple cases, one against Harvard one against UNC here in our own backyard, but my idyllic to deep into these yet. My understanding is these are based on Asian Americans are Americans of Asian descent who were applying and think the process kind took them down a notch.

You know not so race was used in in such a way as to prevent them from getting it. Which is kind of the opposite of the intent of of some of the cases that we've seen come before the Supreme Court will force it is going to be interesting. This thing if you look at our Supreme Court justices.

If you look up at the makeup of the court. Some of things they ruled on some of the things they've said in public. It looks like race this deploying I can uphold that you have free it again if we have to get on the predicted meter here and predict. Looks like this is you know if you support race being used in the application process to promote diversity if that something your four sounds like were we might be coming to the end of that are our own words and have to be really limited and in such a way but I get a feeling this is probably will survive. At that this is my guess. That's right, Josh, and it looks like the court is actually consolidated the two cases for for oral argument and that there can be argued early in the 2022, 20, 23 term which starts in October so I'm sure that's another one that will will in the following up on at some point the lawyers Josh Whitaker and SchellHamer Whitaker Hamer law firms where you can find them during the week managing partners there. It's fascinating for anyone who has the time to follow it, but especially here attorney adjusting how the court takes cases how they handle them and how to get reported on is again very interesting to me how things get reported and how things are. You know, reported differing countries, differing media outlets, and this trend we have to politicize the Supreme Court and I can tell you just from studying and following spring, or these justices to go either way. Do not politicize the court may want the court to be a you know, independent body, looks at things from a from a legal lens is very interesting to me and and part of that I came to light in others and has been reported in different ways, but that all Germans and I was mispronounce things with justice abortion and Sada Meyer either report Jerome if he saw anything about this. There is a report I got into maybe it may be of civilized disagreement, just discourse does not wear a mask during oral arguments are wise around is that he's a guy doesn't want to wear a mask anywhere just to Sada Meyer very concerned from her public statements. Very concerned about coded wears a mask of everybody they got read everyone every justice has their booster and vaccines is just as mask wearing thing and so seems like there was some disagreement just discourse does not want to wear a mask just to Sada Meyer does not so comfortable being in the same room unmasked and so she is kind of been participating via phone and via zoom in some oral arguments as there is as big flareup that there was some kind disagreement between them and it got squashed pretty quick and he said no, absolutely not. Nearby can do what they want and you will figure it out but the county closed ranks. What was it was nice for me is the justices, closed ranks didn't really talk to the media very much about it was an internal issue may want to handle it you like grown-ups and so did become a big news story is actually kinda happy about that but it was interesting to follow that for couple days and see what is going on but were having those arguments amongst yourself, you know, in workplaces and schools in southern are different from us, but I just thought I was interesting to see see that happen. See how the justices handled it and see how it was reported that was that was nice. I thought yeah like a peek behind the curtain man you know you get to see the inner some inner workings there and like you said. Interesting how they, closed ranks and they shut it down. Also interesting how the no NPR who reported on this, double down on hand and stood by and then kind of further like it. Like you said the politicization of all of this, they they kind of added in an and added political element in their response and commented on just the general workings of the justices in the court and kind of accuse them of of making stealthy votes taking after our actions and failing to clarify information for the public so they, they, double down on on their original report and then further dove in to you know some of their some of their I guess criticisms of the way that the courts been operating so very interesting man it, raises the point of what our original intent and purpose for our show is at eight. If you listen to our show. Of course you can tell very loose with our purpose week we go all over the place we we talk about almost anything that interest us, but the original intent and that the kind of I guess mission statement. If you would for the show is always been to examine issues whether they be current events whether they be political issues, whatever they may be.

But, look at things without bias. You know from a neutral perspective as objectively as we can because of the fact that a lot of the news and information that you get today is so heavily tilted one way or another and we wanted to, dissect things and look at them as an attorney would from a very neutral, objective standpoint, presenting both sides of the argument, not really taking strong positions. Either way, based on our subjective biases. That's really the purpose of what we do here yet we we really got her away. You know we we look at how things get reported Anita. I think the US Supreme Court is one of the most efficient parts of government, you know, it's a small body when I thought about the Congress in the house and the Senate all the folks in the executive branch and we got nine justices.

They hear things decisions are made, yet you there's a schedule you really hear this in order to make a decision and that that's it in a move onto the next thing in and I think that is so rare you know where you stood. I mean, I don't want to disparage anybody but me.

I'm in the private sector are not in the public sector, but we do a lot of stuff with with with government injured by its nature by its design. It moves a little slower than then folks in the private practice world and I like the Supreme Court they again really hear this. It's coming before us and argue about it make a decision. We'll talk about will do something else.

Next, as I really I really like that in and watching how different is media such maybe and maybe you'll get all combined together but it's it's interesting to see how the media gets covered as that's what the story was was so interesting to me Morgan but will it will keep an eye on this stuff. It's it's very interesting to Joe and I and hopefully we can convey some of that passion for these type of topics we sit here and then talk with you is always a lot of fun.
