Nothing says Christmas like a wonderful family in Asia, getting a water buffalo is like getting a farm truck while working getting the stand of the market. A water buffalo opened. More importantly, it opens the door to talk about Jesus and nothing says Christmas better than that.

CM is talking and walking in men's ministry there devoted to breaking down the walls of race, a black guy vacation for much needed rest and we just wish that will very Merry Christmas and a great holiday, but we got a guest tonight with assess on Horton will go to talk a little bit about the Christmas season and not continue our broadcasting discussion from last weekend at mass on song welcome to the show first, and those my listing are this is my recognize sans he was with us a few weeks ago the night. I was the day I was now to be here for recording for last show around child life but that sounds very active child like a big impact in young man's laws but saw thank you so much for joining us on this topic so I would like to visit leadoff with the question what this Christ birth mean to you in your life thinking about having my own children, that just beat the future.

I want them to have hope. The just the act of birth if the miracle of it alone and out. The joy that I would have the birth of Christ to me with all that good.

Hope the promise to the expectation that night and expectations just like what you bring to the world and when I think of Christ and how God knew his purpose when he had just a minute that someone would know that they're starting to have such great purpose. That would change the entire world and on how proud I would be even though that I would know he will go to a fierce battle and but that battle one save all of our soul and IME. I got what Christ birth needs me to the impact that he had the shedding of blood, forgiveness, everything is degenerative with that manger humbled that it wasn't good in proper circumstances. I think of now, no one knew about but just goes to what he would do it again I'm I'm just speechless about words well is no doubt bids and the gap was the most important, the most important thing for all of us that accepted hand restore the fellowship as we talked about in previous for us as followers of Christ to have that restored fellowship with God. Just amazing.

And just think about the sacrifice so will put sans son, you know you made a point.

But all the puffins circumstance in the there's different things going on. I guess you refer to the commercialization that we are experiencing and will jump to that right quick if you don't mind the how has that impacted you as a follower of Christ in seeing all the commercialization of Christ's birthday in affected your thought process in turn have to be delivered or not delivered. How is that affected you and your family doctor for children and I were married for 19 years to grandchildren.

We had all the decorations I went total Griswold on the account had a knife in our thousand dollars probably on AltaVista. Then when my son was born.

And that's how I would state that because I was like I thought I knew what a man, but until my wife could have fun and have no clue how he was put together. I thought if I could just do the right thing thing right thing to be a good personality to have like I have embedded manual now and and how Mike and I leave my son to be a man and not make mistakes I've made so when I look at Christmas conflict if not about August if not about how much better my house looked at your health delegate if that with me on the inside right and I was talking to the true electric last night but even we didn't have the people didn't have the cake we have the credit we need to have Christ here. This is all about his birth and and if you don't have Christ in it all the stuff which is laid away so that's what you gift this Christmas must be Christmas. We told them the story of Jesus. We have we have been put up a tree. Matter fact quite yet and the present are not that the priority we just want them to have their heart to the confident where they're going before day, put a price tag on that. And there's no price tag that could every put on it. The great is you cannot and so of I my kids.

I don't don't conduct Santa Claus. I don't know. I found out what you earn. It's not important what Christ given that that we focused on during the Christmas time.

Let's get some sun based which it surged to mom's gone I'm taken to a little bit. The later in life when you accepted Christ as your Savior correct. I was probably 2700 on, I bought a new Christ that I knew of him out yell but I did know him. Now I grew up in my mom's Catholic not really part then we bounce around different denominations, different churches or dad would take up this article. During our stay, and so I knew of an angry God that you know I would be held against me. If I get up around but you know the love got my grandmother. We walked down the road in North Carolina last night five years old and I remember a flattened frog and no other. They will kill happy during the summer.

She tell me that one day I'll be gone but I will always be watching over you and that there's a loving God and he So I do remember that but when I went through life. I didn't really hold onto it and I had some ups and down and I got to the point where I could find the I returned to the worldly things. The chart on Keith, then when I was tired my son I was looking around for men that went to store the didn't have to lean on alcohol or are some the other stuff that Dr. and I found the ghosting church so that's worth cutting torch now but you know what would they have that I don't have a mouse. Christ so you mentioned your father would drop you out but not stay, what would that look like someone in terms of seeds is not a follower of Christ to knew that you need to be in church but he wasn't leading. Is that what you're saying. It's complicated comfort in peril by father Mike, his mother died young.

Her stepmom and his father became a particular rep so he was immersed in the word used immersed in church but something about it. He didn't.

If you be the importance of it in his life. You want to show it to be exposed to. But he was enacted so that the poly how it got the lackadaisical approach that I show to church once in a while I'll be good right right time to make a decision before is your father still living, yet you still living and I will talk about it and is basically agnostic.

The different developing well well I'm sure if he takes a hard look at Jesus on the impacted crisis had new life in and that's that'll be our prayer that God will dissuade his heart out based on what he seeing you soon.

Actually looking at the decryptor with I'll have my health and I have my down where I go. Is this what's important, not where I will wear state right well will get a chance to talk a bit more, maybe a different program that's one of the things that the Australian from my standpoint Christmas growing up was was always a vague celebratory time but it wasn't for the right reasons. It was about getting gifts in that sort of thing.

And unfortunately, memories that go along with that which will hold for another program, but it was so was the holidays were celebrated properly. The weather should've been for my dad standpoint and it's because he never had a talk to him so he he was basically doing it in a way that should be done but hey song. So let's set the swing back you will get a few more minutes and thank you so much again for joining us. But the let's go back to your another questionnaire to form if there how can we overcome this commercialization trend is going on in our society and really true. The share show the true meaning of Christmas to your friends to her community. The people around us at work.

What would be your thoughts. There I think I could open up about what you your heart. Everyone just how to garner what if you open up your heart and told him your experience during indicative giver meeting to it all tell you that you don't need all the stock you'll need all the lights in the candy everywhere and make you happy to find that joy in the doorway could find joy it's really good. Be still and listen to look you look for those people can look for the circumstances that can give you joy and peace and normally if you are not the you're still enough you could feel it. Christ, nothing else can fill you if you buy everything and and that's called hoarding right right amended it in the Ugaritic all go yell. The purpose of it all the time that you understand that it all goes away.

3 what is a joy not sure if this eternal joy know that you should sign with thank you so much for joining us and we wish you the very best… Is your very Martin the MOM with love will have feeling wider community of men for breakfast every first and third Friday of every month and Bible discussions and fellowship at the best breakfast in town meeting location is in their voracious poster First Christian Church in Kernersville, 1130 N. Adam, are you in line with Roy hi Adam, I hope you're doing well. I'm doing well on your doing very good. Thank you. Adam Folkes is sitting out in Colorado and the getting snow out. Adam noted last weekend, but right now we goes goes pretty quick and there what I understand will have a first well Merry Christmas Adam, I hope you hope you're doing well and looking forward have a few minutes here with you, Adam.

Think the previous guess we talked about the you about what Christ's birth means to them and if you don't mind I will take this little bit different approach with you on this call I want to just come to find out from you what, how did you grow up to shoot for that for listeners and how did you grow up we women believers home or did you come the Christ.

Later in life. And then we'll talk around Christmas and how that was is your growing up. If you don't mind a good affinity of both my parents were also mom and dad think that that were believers and encouraged her to get to church young kid and they were very involved and active in the church that model without important the church not the community of church. The from a very early age within the church. Active with my family that's great Adam. So in so then let's come back to the question about what Christ's birth means to you now have a bit of the contacts about your walk with Christ. What is Christ's birth mean to you and and if you don't mind sharing a Windows US to come to be a follower of Christ. For questions to actually have a couple small. And one thing that there are in the Stephen with all the media everything that they get excited about Christmas particular time with our kids and what what we try to one modeling to talk to our children the importance of Christ in Christmas. The from a biblical perspective Christ filled a whole lot of Old Testament Scriptures to build library and a lot of the minor prophets were the way that he came in and outside the Bible.

From what others have done research on the very accurate event of his birth though trying to remind her kids and remind yourself that is not about what we're getting for Christmas for making sure that everybody else get something a gift for Christmas but ultimately thought is this bird I piggybacked that with our kids as we walked the advent of the family Christmas is certainly a highlight of Christianity, but I don't know if one is better than the other, but that certainly is just as critical to the faith of the Eastern, we as we talk with our children. I remind my wife and I certainly got gather, in the manner that he came however Easter came that we will only have opportunity in relationship with them. The next 20 means to me and what I try to really day and try to remind myself, despite all the chaos that happened in the world of reminding about did you get a Christmas present, though I am in your second question was about accepting Christ not accepted Christ in the first grade, I took her felt and talked with my pastor and family about felt like I had a good understanding certainly still today on him growing and learning. Learning will is a journey, you're exactly right that it is a journey that sends an individual relationship right is an individual license and finance were listening audience that sometimes we want to measure ourselves against other followers of Christ.

We need to be sure not do that because it's your personal relationship as long as you're talking walking with him daily and reading his word and and having fellowship.

He will manage your relationship individually. Just like any other parent does with each child is unique and personal, and special. So Adam back to the point of commercialization, peace in about that is you just mentioned there, but who's bought what gifting whom I getting get from Bali hope you bought me a nice Christmas gift this year significant benefit to mail the negative at this I just got a line of January and will call it have your Christmas present at the okay as long as I can choose restaurants will be all right. I found this distinction.

As you know that speaking on the commercialization. Adam, how has this affected your own personal walked yet in this year's like you been very deliberate. I get the Kevin Young children it requires to be very deliberate about remembering whole reason for the season is as everyone says, but how is it affected you in your walk in your thought process with his whole commercialization piece around Christmas and the fact that we really don't even celebrate publicly that is the stores and on TV and now of even so, when the drugstores there. They had a commitment then the commercial is the wrapping season. They going speak to his Christmas seasoning and then they are taking in and leading you into profanity, a thought process by each of the little skits that they have on there so how has this affected your thought process what he doing to come keep keep yourself in tune with what you wanted to be right development. One thing that especially is a life and I children we have tried a rhythm Christmas, but do little advent in a tip for next even if you are close to a Trader Joe's. There is a and advent calendar got 24 pieces of chocolate a good part for me is only a dollar and then for the advent calendar and so there's depressed the last couple years we've been able to get on the calendar section a couple of them were the children never once while they share with me but they data they get excited over the 24 days leading up to Christmas and we detect opportunity before you have chocolate with talk about our church does that then we were mentally preparing the every night of the kids are reminded about their chocolate treat we get the opportunity to do that.

That's something we rhythm, we try to do in our house to get us ready.

We do try to paying down some of the commercialization of the characters. Some of the traditions of that sort of floated into mainstream week. Try to manage that, not judging herself or anybody else balance are we spending too much talking about one character another end of the day. Make sure were talking about you as much if not more pressure than some of the other activities been exciting stuff happened because the advent piece that rhythm is the really good rhythm throughout that's excellent. I can see that would be very effective tool.

So how would you if visits are listening on its Adam what you said about the advent exercise, which is an excellent way to walk your children through the season of Christmas. What other things come to mind. If you had the opportunity to share with our listening audience. You do have answer now come the mind that you would like to say about Christmas and and how to share their stories individual stores that people really get the meaning of Christmas to those around them wanted an individual perspective initially) to remember for us to further take the weight so much of your management particular communion rights or reflect on it, a wire one we get the most of us have opportunity to have the 25th of the number off of work and why we get that answer we can internalize that indigestion. Understand that no an opportunity like the gospel. I think Ajanta share that excitement. You're not going the other is something we get something out. Encourage the audience to do one make sure you're focused on where you need to be focused and into an exciting time of birth. It is leading toward Easter but with the great opportunity with all the excitement going on have conversation with neighbors and friends and coworkers about even about what you know as as an adult I reflect back often times about going up Christmas time and then the difference it is today versus back tonight.

When we were growing up about how it was truly celebrated in even if people are Christ followers is still celebrated Christmas and nine made him a word just fine with you with it.

Merry Christmas all those things I think one of our guests earlier had said about being bold in the inner wall can be in bold in our positioning in basic I think that's what we need to take away for this Christmas as we really need to be bold you're being bold with your children are being bold in your workplace and be in bold in your community and that's that's what this is all about focuses is to share the love of love of God through his son Jesus Christ and that he is the bridge and was born to be. The bridge is shared earlier in for our heavenly father so that the fellowship was restored with him and then you have to accept him and follow him. In order to have that fellowship restored is not just a matter of knowing who God is not just a matter believe in God you have to truly acknowledge and bring him into life and thus the great great part about Christmas.

We have that choice. Without Christmas we would have had the choice right out of flatterers with a little closer any final parting thought you like to share with our listeners to River's life found a life for you to hear from you did to Adam and hope you folks have a great rest of year again, Merry Christmas. Thank you so much for your time and happy new year and guessing with forcing here in just a few weeks.
