This is Sam from Alaska journey podcast of our goal with the podcast was. Hope you try to find your way in this difficult world you chosen Truth Network podcast was starting just seconds. Enjoy it shirt but most of all, thank you for listening and choosing The Truth Podcast Network. This is good Truth Network welcome to mannitol and brought you by T8 W CM is talking and walking Christian men's ministry where they are devoted to breaking down the walls of race, challenging, and to take care God assigned as our host will Hardy and Roy Jones Junior, a black guy and a white man so they won't ask Roy what when you grab your phone listeners you got your phone in your hand you looking at social media you looking at Facebook you looking at Instagram you're looking at tick-tock you looking at YouTube you looking at all of these platforms that you have on your phone and what is that doing to your children what is that doing to you. This is our topic today. Roy would tick-tock your network with the secondhand doesn't clock will tick tock tick tock. Where did they come up with how money should be Roy, but you know the platform of what Facebook and all these other social media sites do is they have to be able to pull you in. You know, so, so there has to be like a hook or social media is totally Hooker item and everybody's on Facebook you speak about this so they will speak in social media. We were at restaurants couple sitting restaurants with their family and listen if you're paying attention were talking to you in the restaurant. All of the family and other funds out there sitting there messing with Facebook see what everybody else is doing and then they might might snap a picture of them sit table sling post until the world that their dinner with her sibling and with their children.

Hunger not speaking with my that will put that part of this little pink historians picturing social media look totally different.

What reality is absolutely tied up and occupied and seen at the end. The object is the Facebook is what they're doing.

So all these other social media platforms is what they're doing is they they are trying to get the content in this is why when we going to be talking today about Francis Haugen and I just say praise God for her.

God bless her, because what she did is she really it really took some courage for her to go in front of Congress and go in front of all of the prime time news media magazine shows, and she really put herself out there and she was she really put her interests, you know, because this is this is her future and here's a here's a Harvard MBA and well educated woman very verse understand the platform of what school Facebook was attempting to do and how they hired her. Some of things that she was pulled in the do and then she get in there Roy and then all of a sudden she find out that things are not the way that they presented it to her. This is why applaud what she did and what she's continuing to do because she cares about children and in the subcommittee that she sat on will talk to up in Congress, she it was basically centered around young children and so dad's uncles all granddad's that's out there. If you listening moms grandma absolutely dollars.

This is what your children are exposed to Facebook tick-tock Instagram to hooking them and polygamy that we lost the sense of innocence will there's no longer recognize the fact that the young minds very formidable very moldable and the stuff that were exposing them to do is basically creating a numbness if you will. It's creating a decent cetacean to everything is going going on ahead of them. There desensitized to sexuality desensitized to murder the value of life. All those things because of the social media blitz on such a young mind and not to mention it's creating a narrative based on what they're looking at that thin forms the future, which I'm sure we'll get into later in the show. The forms how the going to think in the future about different items right absolutely and see that's why applaud the subcommittee members with which was a bipartisan type of of panel if you will, or subcommittee they all were in agreement because the week before they had another VP from Facebook talking to the subcommittee which said a completely different thing than what Francis Haugen said. And so they had all these mixed signals and and if you if you listening listener. If you want to listen to the whole subcommittee talk that she gave you can go to YouTube is on narrow we can put a link to the website from the website talking and you can go right there, but it's very very interesting and it's informative. So this first clip we want you to listen to is this is what Facebook interest is in this is what Francis Haugen said based on her working in Facebook rights conflicts of interest between what was good for the public Facebook Facebook over and over again chose to optimize for its own interests, like making more money to see. That's the that's the gist of what it comes down to Roy.

It's about making money. So it see Saul where it didn't matter what Facebook did and in reference to how they are putting our children in harm's way, but what the bottom line was, it was all about the dollar bill. Of course, whelming most corporations or about profitability correct. It is an evening situation here and I guess this goes back to earlier conversations and ethically spoke to documentary on Netflix and which were not sponsored by or getting compensation for but was social dilemma. It spoke to that more about the not specifically by age group without shaping around individual's of Facebook recognize that there was some impact to the children from parents correctly right exactly in dates and it was brought to their attention with the potential impact was and then they chose the dollar interest versus the health and well-being of the listener because one of the observer or participant exactly because one thing she said Roy was $0.60 percent of teen girls and 40% of teen boys face negative comparisons. So when they're looking at Facebook and course the more content you look at that's in the advertisements. That's how Facebook gets paid and so the more you stay on their the more you absorb and so she's saying the things that's being presented on Facebook is having a negative comparisons against the teams because what happens is they look at these things on Facebook and now they want to take on the persona of what these things are and see. And that's the damaging part because it's it's it's glamorized Roy device by persona you're referring to what they're seeing in this particular illustration of this particular lifestyle. This particular way of doing things is what they will now become a part of. Now they want to emulate in their own life is that which works exactly and what and what is that all about. Went because when they go on their they're looking at celebrities Roy they're looking at singers there looking at dancers there looking at movie stars, if you will. These are the people who they're looking at. And so if there looking at these people who is basically way out of their income zone and now they're putting pressure on these teens to look like them and that's just one component behavior start behaving absolutely influences right or start looking like the influences or start you base it even mirroring back will. If we think about some of the negativism that goes on in social media. It used to be that the thumbs up was a good thing.

Now it's become a point if you don't get in the thumbs up.

This becomes a score near persona because of they don't like what I've said got your 200 down from 5000 thumbs. So now the old guy swimmer going to turn people that are don't like what sitter don't like me and so we're growing up. It didn't metal guess about the same today you believe the love your they don't love you.

That's okay you have to deal with her dislike of you dislike you will worry about goodness thumbs up on the social media post writer sites are apartment may be because I'm not on Facebook. I don't know if you are, but I'm not a Facebook have chosen not to be on my wife's chose not to have one social media accounts for the ministry in default on personal note this Instagram.

That's it only because this is a key, but with a few family members that you not get into Facebook. All that other stuff is just I can't do it.

Ministry has it's about managing some of the lessee in it and think about is is Facebook and all of the other social medias us out the Roy there. They are not. It was not designed initially according to what Francis Haugen said it wasn't designed initially for a lot of what is being presented now on Facebook and the censoring that's going on right. That's the other thing. It's one thing if you got a platform like Facebook, you let it run good, bad, ugly B and you don't have the algorithms been developed in the background so that shaping content is coming at you or your children that would not be nurses would not. This should be a bad thing right. If you have a platform that it was fully open and it ran like it's posted in this and this is basically what she said and so she said she went on to talk about.

She said there was 600,000 under age accounts. Underage and that's under the age of 13. All got under under the age of 13 and what your resistances and so this was here recently and so she said there was 600,000 under age accounts and once the news broke of what Facebook had you know with her coming out and talking about how this is harming children. All of a sudden the 600,000 accounts disappeared as and they just went away or they were hidden. Well that's the thing only Facebook knows for sure. Based on recent reports because there is nothing they could say they can say we deleted them. But how do we know for sure. And what happens to the data. What happens to all of the data from the 600,000 counts. So see again.

It's a lot of misnomer's but it's it's a exercising control at their discretion instead of back.

Back to our dismissing earlier freedom of speech, letting it run as a platform.

Is there decision and who are they, is the question.

And since it is their decision.

We don't know who that they is, but in the background right we don't know that that green exactly background, exactly, and so but back to the original point folks are you looking at what your children are looking. That's the point.

You as the parent should be doing that and you have the right to do it as long as they're under your roof as your child is who I trust my children will listen. It's a we don't trust her children but guess who's after your children who's after the children will the enemy enemy. And that's not just insane that's many others in in the world today there after children that are a direct result or lineage of Satan. So folks you've got this. You can't just brush it off absolutely and and this is never just blow me away Roy. We caught up on the break. So when we come back from the break we will want to talk about the amount of people. As of today that's on Facebook worldwide the number will blow you away with nothing surprising. Social will be right back with you folks think Joyce will use CM and would love to have you join their community of men for breakfast every first and third Friday of every month and Bible discussions and fellowship after the best breakfast in town meeting location is at their voracious poster First Christian Church in Kernersville, 1130 N. Main St. encouraged him a hard start at 7 o'clock on a hard stop at 8 o'clock. First time visitors eat for free. Join your host will Hardy Roy Jones Junior, a black guy in a white guy of affordable chiropractic in High Point. As you might tell from their name, affordable chiropractic, even for the cash. Patient Dr. Jeff Ricky has been caring for patients in High Point for 34 years, physical therapy, such as ultrasound and spinal decompression for disc conditions such as herniation conference of care for auto accident injury patients with no out-of-pocket expense. Remember, affordable chiropractic on the W. Lexington Ave. in High Point Hall 336-885-1987 with praise the Lord once again the social dilemma and you and so I I cannot imagine you know a lot of what people are maybe considering thinking about Roy when it comes to social media, but we wanted.

We were talking about the amount of people when we went to break that's on Facebook as of today, 1.5 billion. That's not million. That's billion with a B. That's the amount of people worldwide. According to Francis Haugen that's on Facebook today and so with with this subcommittee. I mean, I applauded all the subcommittee members Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee and Roger Wicker, Mississippi Blumenthal, who is the chairman of this this subcommittee and this subcommittee basically it sort of looks at those things and and a constantly referred to a section 230, which was a pack at and this committee is a provisions of the communication.

This discrepancy or or discretionary act, and it's like overseas, the things that are spoken about on's social media platforms, but they don't hold the actual platform responsible for some of the things that third parties might put on their platform and so you know when I started reading the section. It is kind of is kind of intense it's it's really deep and legalized, but what Francis Haugen was saying is that this needs to be fine tune because it's too broad right now right will risk would back up just one second on the population over the total number of users at one .5 billion okay so quickly did a Google on the total population, 20, 21 numbers were shown. 7.99 billion people, while so if you get 1.5 accounts for users and then I would guess them at your I suggest the circular cereal quickly how to exit Internet access or an Internet capability so worldwide.

Therefore, .6 6,000,000,004.6 billion of cultural .7 around 4.7 billion active Internet users worldwide as of 20, 21, while so you look at that from the terms of percentages while so that's roughly less than slightly more than one third right exactly to slightly more than one third of the total Internet user counts in the in the world that have a Facebook account attached to their usage not think about important folks you want you want to see how quickly something bad can go from bad to worse to the tragic where in the tragic stage right now because of the negativism that goes on in the negative influences over all impact in the slow fates are occurring step-by-step through the algorithms that are being built around these accounts.

The searches the interest although since think about that folks to stop for a moment. 1.5 billion accounts of Facebook out of 4.6 billion potential customers if you will, are Internet users globally. There's one .5 to already have a Facebook that you understand the magnitude of that. The potential impact globally flip that around. If we were as hungry and is eager and is energetic doing sharing the gospel and going after people in creating those sorts of things to grow the kingdom. Man, what a difference we can make exactly Roy anything about it is you know I think that Francis Haugen's heart for children and people at large is it that that she had a heart for them where she would not have basically sacrificed her career right which basically she done so that they had to be a lot of soul-searching you know from the standpoint of which she sat.

And then going forward to reveal some the things she saw. But to your point Roy is that if we had as many people who were open to the gospel and allowing the gospel to be spread. You know, through whatever platform or social media and we say that that is occurring because I see it in in my nieces and nephews and some of you dancing on the agreements were living a far away and and and there sharing the gospel there.

There are groups. In fact, I'm part of a group of that that they call themselves the next generation and and and they're talking about the gospel to get together and it's that the group is growing. It started out with like 40 or 50 and now it's it's I don't know you in a couple hundred thousand and these are people around the world and so they get together they ask questions about the gospel and then you have our pastors who were out there who look to answer some of their questioning. So social media might my point is this what is that social media even though an ask ask Francis Haugen stated she said that that because Facebook knows how to make it safer. They chose profits over people. Those were her exact words and so she understood from the inside and she said people who are never all will never work on the inside who never work on the inside. They'll never know what's going on? And so this is this is why I think she took a step forward.

So again close to her applause to her and I just thank God for the fact of what she did so in this next clip Roy we're gonna she's going to give you the reasons for the documentation that she took and presented out to the public buys or conflicts of interest between what was good for the public for Facebook and Facebook over and over again chose to optimize for its own interests more money.

Okay, you got to go to that second I seen a bunch of social networks substantially worsen Facebook for someone else might just quit and moved on and I wonder why you take the stand and imagine you know what's going on site facebooking unknowing on the outside house. I knew what my future look like if I continue to stand Facebook which is person after person after person has tackled this inside a Facebook and ground themselves to the ground when and how did it occur to you to take all of these documents are the company at some point in 2021, and I realized okay. I may have to systemic way. I have to got enough. No one can question this is real. No one can question so she she had to gather enough evidence of what was happening into Facebook so that when you looked at the evidence. The evidence was so overwhelming that you couldn't deny me and I was going to tag that in with with with what we as believers see when when you do a thorough search of the gospel and you start going down that that road just as you know in a couple weeks we were going to have guests who everybody will will know who's been in been out there reading you know anything about the case for Christ this without giving it away right now, but he he is going to tell you exactly the steps that he took being individual who was in the journalism field so he took the steps and then all of a sudden he said I'm just gonna I'm just going to let the evidence lead me to either say yes this is a Jesus Christ thing or know this isn't a Jesus Christ thing and so he found out through just straight investigation that this was a geez I think so.

The evidence demanded verdict. Same as Josh McDowell years earlier with the work cited harvest of the great service of folks. Be sure to join us. It'll be the Sunday the 21st forgot my math correctly will be the show that it will be airing Sunday the 21st and available for your listening pleasure to look back to the downloads back to the total number of users that something real quick and it's great for the slave to pull the documents and your somebodies will pick her up. It's obvious about that level of integrity and concern over humanity. Someone has to pick her up as I don't. If you notice this week.

The Bible out send out updates there approaching 500 million downloads. While there is hope.

Folks if you say 1.4 billion Facebook accounts are user sure people in the world. There's 500 million of the Bible has been downloaded and I daresay that that's having much will hold daresay I will say that that's heaven in a multi-time effect over and above what Facebook does in people's lives. If they're staying in and watching the reminders and follow the program anything about that. Roy is it's available in so many languages to Helen so now you have people all over the world who are downloading this Bible out and they're able to get you know it in their own language which is which is a blessing, but when we see what what Francis done Nancy there is laws that protect the whistleblower we want to make sure we get this in. So what she did what she did was not was not against the law and and Sen. Blumenthal, who was the chair of the subcommittee it he basically said we are going to basically do whatever we need to do. You know in order to ensure that there is no backlash against her.

So again, praise the Lord for the fact on this coming forward. Someone who was working on the inside so that we can look at safety for our children and ensure that we are not allowing ourselves to be disengage from the Bible, and yet engaging in social media, that's great, great point will you you think back in hindsight it's always 2020.

This was one of those things, along with the unit axis that you early on in our lives. We were soon will start develop. We talked about the fact that people should not have the simplistic people, children below 12 age of 18 should not have free access to all of the stuff that was on the worldwide rights. It should not should in some limits globally today. If you're doing this type of content to allow access to and that should got so far past that is out of control. Since everything goes.

Folks, we thank you for joining us come back next week.
