Let's focus more on the individual and some of the things that you as the hero center founder have seen and some success stories that you might want to share with the listening audience in reference to some of the guys are women who have come through and how the hero center has benefited famine and you know what they are telling people you will again this is an in stock but as I noted last week, we reserve women vets women serve honorably in military they deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and so they often experience the same combat trauma the same PTSD and the same thing happens and there's a way that is just a gap between you know, getting out of the military and all that structure and trying to find their way and and and they really get hopeless.

They really do follow the despairing and that maybe this is a good time to do the shot on use another pandemic going on in my country that most of America may not be aware and it's called suicide. It's a big deal. The military, there are 22 suicides every day while just the startling statistics that there would be that many who were quick to fight their trained killers, but they can't contain the enemy from within that rages that voice as images so you can go through depression and then you kind of get despondent because this is no marketing my benefits of marketing were also nearing despair. Then you feel helpless.

But if only it's hopeless in a different bring her to his helpless means I can help me.

Maybe you can help me. Hopeless means I can't help me and you can help me either right or not there to help me but I can't see it. I just can't see.

I can see everything is all around me because I succumb mentally mentally it's a war of the mind and so just to shut out all vets just take care of each other.

If you're thinking about it.

Get help. But that's it's beatable and let's get it out of the closet and say you know you really need to want to come to the hero center doing and we have trained people there. Especially social worker benefits of my wife in the camp director she so good at giving people hope giving them tools that they can use to help them but the issue is isolation again to get themselves isolated and then all of a sudden they feel that hopelessness and it's a stunning certificate. I was in Vietnam and there were probably 57,000 were killed in Vietnam, but the last count, which is a year older hundred and 18,000 cards while those more killed from Vietnam to suicide than it was to combat wow so one of the things that we want to help people who come to the hero center is to give them hope and end on both fronts. Not only is it a faith-based hope, but it is a hope that there is success awaiting if you will come through and do the homework is a learning curve.

Good tools to how to deal with anxiety and and and those things and stay connected to other veterans and deal with this issues long time to do some cleanup that these fats need to end up at our center perhaps is a DUI that they're sitting on. Maybe a felony euros or something back there that has kept them from employment. So now there don't have a car until they don't have a job and that's how you help homeless and so we take command and and and will typically give them a months free rent you know where they're in there and then we will help them. We have one in there right now that is completing his months. He likes the deer had like to stay but you know it's like raising kids, raising Robin is the sparrow some point time we want to give them a foundation and give them wings to do that well. He's looking at a couple job opportunities.

So now he is got the hope is usually significance when you're not working and so we we really do help them again prepared to be a good employee and so he's looking to start work on a Monday so now he again doesn't have the car yet and he doesn't have the money to repair that and and and so were inclined to extend him a little bit to do that.

What happens is some when you come out of military and then you could find a job I go to work like landscaping or some day labor that kinda runs out of gas and those of the first to fall.

So, now 27 years old and I just lost my job.

Okay so I just am stuck. I don't know where to go. I'm still millennial.

I'm still terrible. I don't have the tools I don't have the money to go to university so that's her job training program really really does fit with them to do that so they can come in on on the short six, eight, 10 week program and get themselves some some help with her benefits to give them some help with that, there are issues that they're facing. We bring people into them know VA has been little bit more flexible. I do a shout out to the Kernersville hospital. They are value. They have come out in the field. They have a mobile benefit truck and no bring out the whole truck there and you could just like you have to go to Kernersville and and so I do or do appreciate administrators been out a number time to speak for us to Erica is made those benefits available so they need to benefits. Oftentimes we can get them compensation that they been turned down for so we provide advocacy connected with people that do that so it really is getting them the foundational pieces that that any of us need in society. We need to clean up our wrecker. We need to deal with her personal issues. Sure I and then we need to make ourselves attractive to an employer and a just really can't do it by themselves and then a lot of times there.

All of a sudden the wife will back away from. So now the divorce and so now they are homeless… Can create a homeless. I was in a home and kids at all that Linda because I wasn't dealing with my issues I become homeless by virtue of divorce and and so again we will we will help them with with with housing and.this is an organization I mentioned last week called NC servers run by USO that will help some with this. We are one of the participants in the program with job training with transportation though we are happy to do that and were happy that this female that is disk community.

This is still there. She's not paying rent, so that's a good thing this other gentleman. Another success story is so is already hoping to start his first job in the deer on Monday you can to see his whole transformational department. His whole energy. I can imagine. And he pulled weeds harder in our gardens now because he's excited that so we do a shout out to him and to the galas. They are there great success stories but they just need a hand up, not hand out as needed will lifted will gap a little bridge between where the roar they can see it they wanted. They're motivated to do it or just need a hand over to bridge that gap. They're currently in and put back in on their feet back into society with some tolls now to deal with the things pulled him down before sure about what have you talk to about a buddy last week how important it isn't just if a person is in the likeness you got a man and a woman from here to correctly is currently there do you help align them with somebody as their battle buddy on the civilian side that's maybe not in your center. That's people are volunteering to come alongside those folks to be house that would be better. That's a great question, then the first thing we do is match them up with the people to make a change in her life so will bring out a VA rep unemployment rapper volunteer coordinator over and above that and that's where we have monthly meetings.

We have a meeting every month for female vets and incoming women who have their own issues and and so in those settings, six, eight, 10 of them will come together every month and out of that they form social relationships redo men's coffee again will start this up. The first of the year were guys can come out know every first of the month they can come out. We also do it again great outdoor activities that they like to do and in so doing, they built friendships and we want to go up to the warrior form so those are not unexciting activities for them to do. But the whole design is saying. Exchange emails we get connected with each other and you know make sure that you don't go away without having a friend at this point that weekend her party had net breakfast with a coffee and then we follow up on will obviously when people come in for coffee. We take a roster and yet we have the contact information and then we can make them aware of other activities were going, but we can distill personal call and follow-up. How you doing I'm doing fine. Well how you really don't want your mentor when the commander flickered, lost all hope your next gateway if you will, hopefully, next improvement of the first improvement in their life.

How do you incorporate this salvation story perfect Lamb story part of the introduction. Yeah well when we talk about healing because we mentioned last week, a ghost on her heel and hire that heel. This is driven by a personal relationship and so even in the basic counseling were able to incorporate that into our social worker did. She says right out. There's hope and that hope is to come by faith and and so we do a conversationally we bring the people and to mentor them or their faith-based veterans that do come alongside is a know that's with the healing comes from is a personal relationship in our church when our denomination went on a religion but is all about the personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the ultimate about eggs absolutely folks, we are given come up and bike just a few seconds with the problem. Thank you so much for being here folks. Welcome back to man talk radio and we are in conversation with the founder of the Center, Bob Hoover and before the break we were talking about this thing about my faith and see man if you're getting the hiring piece the healing piece donning piece you getting all these pieces here at the Heros center and but the piece that you need above any other, is the piece that PIC PEA see the peace of Jesus Christ, amen.

And once you have that piece Dan.

You are victorious in whatever it is that you plan to do because he's the Prince of peace. He gives us what we need when we need it so Bob we were talking a little bit during a break and you had mentioned John 1010 the thief come to kill, steal and destroy, but I've come that you may have life, and to have it more abundantly. So how do you incorporate that into the lives of the men that come to the Heros for military veteran is exciting. How much there is about the military in the Bible how much it is about warfare absolutely and clearly there is a war going on for the heart and soul's veterans and men everywhere now and so Satan's goal you know is to set up strongholds in your mind. What are some addiction to pornography. Drugs are or fear or doubt what it may be Sita Swanson seeds your mind to set up set up a stronghold and so is you alluded to that verse. It's interesting when I talked to man, and I say you know you we all know the verse of John 1010 the abundant life, but what this does, part B. What is part a and and and so they don't know. Present company included that okay Bob you this house was to be blessed so it is that the thief has an agenda for your life absolutely yelled out the reputation you hope steals steal your joy, steal your peace and destroy story reputation, destroy your ministry.

It it's all about the only has one agenda and you can look at the dinner thief. Just look at the newspapers. What I know is you can see kill still destroy the is all about us what is going in our cities and so as we are near the battle up. You know we talk about the whole armor of God, that's all about being in the warfare.

So I'm saying is that if if if the key in warfare into the abundant life I think is how we are able to successfully engage and neutralize the safe. So if that's the case, the neutralizing thief. One of the weapons that we have consumed military is all about weapons and slowly absolutely other individual weapon somewhere individual handguns and rifles or individual weapons under things that we can do individually.

How to keep yourself strong but but most are crew served weapons machine gun takes three minimum sometimes six people mortar is got the plate sums up the tripod. Somebody got the tube in somebody's blog and ammunition so it's it's a crew served kind of a thing and so that was actually my assigned weapon was the M 60 when I was in my my unit at the same in Vietnam. We are trying to get so hot we could cook bacon on the barrel but anyways back to so how do we keep the sleeve from engaging taking over territory and I don't think of the things that you thought about before you heard before, but number one is this whole idea of forgiveness see what Satan wants to do is take over territory by bitterness and by offense and anger and and kill relationships and bitterness becomes a friend like bitterness always agrees with me. You're right, they were wrong, and so same mistakes over your whole life. But forgiveness frees him up. He can have access to the territory. If you already forgiven someone a father or meat or coworker is otherwise hurt you Chayo just easier for Rita to forgive you to do that. The second thing is is generosity. Generosity frees us from the love of money frees us from the materialism, but this frees us to help others.

I very interested to see come and go quickly is that if if we say 200 men if they outlawed retirement village could never retire ever.

I how many of you would change the horrors that you're not writing on answer is 62% are really stuffed into a cage and not fulfilling the purpose as Amanda God is called them to do and so what does that do generosity while I'm out at 55 and I got my formula that's always so many years on mother 55.

So if I give to our mission trip or something if you want to know I can than afterward 50s for years. You know, and so frustrated at my job 62% don't like what they do and secondly, a somewhat generous and I come home without exercising my gifts likable frustrated I don't want volunteer I don't do anything just get out of my work as quick as I can. God forgive us for not finding that so that we can be generous with our guests generous with our time and indigos on that you're doing a clear conscience. This is another one of those. If you have a clear conscience than you do not access the Satan. So whether in the military or you're not in the military. We do recognize that that Satan does have his sights locked right on the back of your chest, and he does want to take you and no matter how long you been ministry how long you serve even even as a combat sniper military guy you know you can you can relax and put your guard down and not the whole armor on, and you can step on a mind to do something and so that's where again the battle body can send you all need help. You all need to be in in a group what it's like minded by activity like minded by profession. You really do need in spite of the virus find ways to continue to connect with your battle body continue to have somebody just got your sick somebody that's going to ask you the hard questions and help you stay on point okay and staying on track and stay on the narrow way that God is laid out for all of us and that to recognize that you can defeat Satan but these weapons that we talked about are simply designed to take strongholds down take territory back and and and engaged thief into doing that and you know Bob when you talked about the armor we only have one offense, a weapon, and that's the word of God.

If you look at all those other pieces of the armor from Ephesians chapter 6, it's all about defense helmet breastplate belt shoes girding up your loins. These these things are defensive weapons, so if we don't have the word of God with in us, then we have no offense of weapons. We are targets we have the shield of faith, but what are you fighting the enemy with because the enemy as you as you stated he wants to kill still and that's his modus operandi to to steal, kill, and to break you down so veterans, spouses of veterans. If you listening right now. Friends of veterans. If you listening right now and you want to get involved. You can and donate.

You can donate donate time donate money donate whatever it is, if you got a car that's laying around and you know that there's a vet out there who needs a car because he's getting his life together and that car is running. We don't want a job now but let God bless you bless you and donate that car come down and and talk to Bob at 1500 Bridges Dr. in High Point and and work out some details with it so there's always all kinds of opportunities that you can give and do in order to support port the better the Bobby to be clear, 501(c)(3). Yes, we are okay good so than that, that there your folks is a tax deduction helps you out if it's something sitting around and if you have a cash donation that you need just by year in receipt of your website. It's a hero center but is spelled HEROE asked a lot of people forget that the hero center.org and you'll find us there to get hold of us. That's great. Will Bob know how long is this been a long have you had the campus there. John Wesley just over two years I might have had this foundation for nonprofit for about nine years but I just gave us his property two years ago.

So were really excited never actually renovating the building to implement residence programs, but the other thing you still would like to bring out the community. We have a 500 seat auditorium so willing to do a lot of unity things for city help the city with justice and and unity and faith so were center that the city is found, but were focused primarily on veterans and in helping them transition and deal with their issues and that there's another thing to scout the mind by the way, I think you missed the earlier folks would like to use your facility certainly could come talk to you about that very affordable rent to use the facility for an auditor for a weekend to put on whatever conference you may have would be a great place. Plus it would help the veterans because revenue comes back into the unitization and then it helps fund the property for the week and for the month, absolutely, absolutely. You know Roy, it's it it's just battling being a veteran myself and just having the opportunity and I'm so glad I'm at the opportunity meet Bob and Jess share with him and to visit the center down there. We had meetings down there we going to have some future meetings down there so it's it's a very, very's nice set up that Bob has down there for organizations and for people to come and and meet and Jess share the gospel or share your thoughts seem in special thanks to Jerome, who was a brother of ours in the ministry and the bees want to ask you reduce this to Bob SEB of weeks back so we thank you Jerome for that shout out to you brother you enough for your obedience to God in the matter. What is you always follow whatever godliness did Jerome for that. We appreciate that he's doing a unity event October 3 trying transformer sitting there for years that their love and faith in the graceful campuses October 1 not to think about so if you'd like to join Asher drama love to have you leaders in our community as well as the church. If you listen to show you not currently a follower of Christ, we are you gonna do is admit in the center of recognize he rose, and the third day he lives again sits beside the father time for the sins given the body fellowship process can be part of life here to support, visit www.tawcmm.com would love to have your questions and feedback to others will think it's been great seeing Bob a great time with you think that I blessed him and will see you guys next week.
