You believe in Jesus Christ, the risen Savior to Adrian Rogers. I want her to mother something wrong with your mind. Several of your heart. Jesus would save you your foolish and your heart is very slow if you don't understand the Scripture. The world is not true with Jesus, but I will say something this world is through with allergies. He is coming.

Welcome to Leavenworth featuring the lessons of the claimed pastor and Bible teacher Adrian Rogers, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is a known fact we fully believe as Christians. However, in the days following this miracle some of the disciples were struggling with part one of today's message. We learned of two disciples whose misunderstanding of Jesus resurrection led to disappointment. This led to doubt and discouragement.

Everything changed when Jesus met them face-to-face on the road to Emmaus. In Luke 24. If you have your Bible turn there now as Adrian Rogers shares part two of the week after Easter. A person who knows the true cross every day.every I can't spell. This is what I want to talk to you about how to have a passionate burning emotional love for Jesus.

Now let me Jesus was crucified but came out of that grave and was saying, but the disciples were commanders. Some of them the some of them not only fully conveys they were happily doubting had taken a journey to a place called Emmaus to Emmaus.

A number of times two beautiful little village about 7 1/2 miles from the city of Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified.

Raise and they were trudging along to the forlorn disciples discouraged and burned again in verse 13 and you pick it up there we met to in chapter 24, verse 13, and behold, two of them went that same data village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs X7 will more than 7 miles and they talk together of all those things which had happened and it came to pass that while they commune together and reason Jesus himself drew near and went with them, but their eyes were holding that they should not know him.

These people were discouraged to their trudging along now leaving half that they heard the story, but they were let down in body and in spirit and Jesus could tell by their cabinets that they were discouraged they were sad to see that there discouragement and the sadness at the source. It was a miss understanding.

I will talk a little bit about the misunderstanding in a moment, but that misunderstanding led to disappointment and disappointment led to doubt and now led to discouragement. What was there misunderstanding what they had been looking for a political Messiah. They were hoping that Jesus would come and redeem Israel.

And it had not happened and notice if you will burst when one that we trusted that it had been, he which should have read the trail. Now obviously they were looking for a political Messiah. They been looking for King and I want to happen to the K for King had males for scepter cross fourth row and his kingdom had contracted to the narrow confines of what happened to the kingdom, the prophet said prophesy the kingdom.

The poets picture the kingdom.

The Angels had pronounced an amount sticking and Jesus had breached the kingdom and they were saying this is wonderful Messiah serious Ray was going to be redeem and it had not happened and they were sad because this sad. This was rooted in misunderstanding and unbelief. And Jesus actually call them fools. If you look there in verse 25. It's it's a very interesting verse where he says to them all fools and and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets is now they believe part of what the prophets have spoken, but they did not believe it. All they did not understand it all. And so what what you have here is what I want called discouragement a confused heart when we get confused.

I don't understand the word of God that can lead to discouragement and I have met in my ministry.

So many Christians who get this because they don't understand the Scriptures, and they don't believe all that the prophets have spoken. Now is move from there and talk not only about the discouragement of confused heart and these men were confused but let's talk a little bit about the discovery of a challenge heart. Look, if you will, in verse 27 and see what the Lord Jesus Christ did for them. The week after Easter and notice he says, and beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself and that they do not enter the village where they went. And he made as though he would have gone further but they constrained him, saying, abide with us for distorted evening and the day is far spent, and he went into terror with them and came to pass, as he sat at meat with them. He took bread and busted and break it and gave it to them. I watch this, and their eyes were opened and they knew him and he banished out of there site now. First of all, in verse 32 we go to notice that he opened the Scriptures like in verse 32 and they said one to another, did not heart burn within us while he talked with us.

By the way, and while he opened to us the Scriptures_that is so important.

Our hearts burn while he opened to us the Scriptures, but it was not enough for him to open the Scriptures go back up to verse 31, and their eyes were open and they knew him.

Now there two things that the Lord hast open to us when we're confused and discouraged first thought hast open the Scriptures and secondly he has to open our eyes. Both are absolutely necessary now. He challenges them to the word of God and I want you to see how he chose the mold you notice the sermon that he gave them the method was to open the Scriptures and open their eyes.

Now notice the message looking to in verse 27 and beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning myself.

I look at it.

It doesn't say he expounded to them all the things concerning himself in the Scriptures now that that would been fine than what it says it says expounded them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself on the main reason Jesus is all the Scriptures, and not that he is in some of the Scriptures. Not all the things in the Scriptures, but in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. Matthew Wade Hibel.

You will find Jesus you missed go back, standing somewhere in the shadows you find Jesus to be the prophecy of me. Their preceptor will be there and probably will be there in poetry. He will be there. Somehow Jesus is there in the Bible.

All of the Scriptures about the Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled prophecy is such a wonderful thing.

Did you know that there are over 333 precise details prophesying Jesus in the old testament Citrix before Jesus was born his birth, his career is teaching is suffering, his resurrection. His glory, his ascension, his second coming. That was all prophesy now.

Don't take that for granted.

Jesus is the only person ever born in this world whose ancestry whose birth time whose forerunner whose birthplace whose birth manner whose infancy, whose manhood was teaching, whose character whose preaching those three section whose rejection whose dad's burial whose resurrection is ascension were all in a marvelous way before it was more don't pass by that. Can you imagine anybody painting a picture of an individual having never seen that individual him having never been born in paint that picture in striking and unmistakable detail, but then can you imagine not one person but 25 minus participating in the same picture and then when that individual comes, there is that exact likeness Peter Stone is a mathematician and the statistician who has written a book called science speaks and he talks about the law of probabilities without a man out all of the things concerning Jesus in the Old Testament Peter Stoner as a mathematician deals with a science called the law of probabilities, which is a rock along and he takes not 333 of these prophecies he takes them only, and then he shows the mathematical probability of all eight only a brief fulfilled by chance. And here is a chance it is one in 10 raised to the 17th power we say eight or nine exactly what the numbers and I don't know what it may just picture a tan with zeros going all away over the wall. A saying that one in 10 raised to the 70 pound now we can get him. I know that's a Peter Stoner gives an illustration. He says if you would take the state of Texas and cover the state of Texas with silver dollars, 2 feet thick from border to border.

The Texans would like that but at the silver dollars. This just as far as you can go. One time I drove across Texas from one side to that. If you've ever done that friend that is a drive drive all the way across Texas and I was going to straight line. The wind direction. I didn't go. Both direction crisscrossed just here's the state of Texas covered with silver dollars. They said you them are just one of those silver dollars*the mullah Mark one special and then blindfolded man and drop them in to Texas from a helicopter parachuting in a leading source for all those silver dollars and he by chance finds that one silver dollar of the entire state of Texas being covered with silver dollars.

That's the kind of probability were talking about a just eight of these prophecies being fulfilled. Just a 333 of when I talking about that friends are for.

Just the law of probability makes the Scriptures fulfilled in the Lord Jesus impossible to then fulfill apartment tanks often use this illustration draws and I speak almost every week with our children in Spain by telephone at about 6 billion people upon the face of the earth.

Not all of them have telephones when I say that all of them inevitable and I wanted to contact David and I don't know's number. I don't know the number of his country. The overseas number, but I know the area code where he lives not. I know the digits in his personal number. I suppose I pick up the phone and began to dial some numbers at random. Do you think the probability is on will reach David just made up Dilantin numbers they think is a holiday the day that a 6 billion people upon the face of the earth do you think that's going to happen. What are the chances what is the probability that I would get every number right in the complicated phone when I levitate how we going to dial Jesus I if you were to start. For example in the book of Genesis. You can find out that Jesus the Messiah is going to come from a certain race. Genesis 315 says he's going to be the seat of one right away when I was not some angel or some other creature is going really. So we dial the first number correct and that we get to Genesis 9. The descendents that come out of the ark and we know that Jesus is going to be a descendent of Shem. I should like our Semite so we have that here is the Messiah he's going to be of a race. And then he's going to come from a section of that race. Not all the peoples of the world are going to bring Messiah but not Whiteman.

We got to dial the next number and he he's going to come out of a nation of that section of that race. So we read in Genesis 12 that he's going to be a descendent of Abraham, but then we find out that Abraham is a has a number of descendents so there has to be a try of that nation that section of that race that Messiah now has to come from the tribe of Judah, but we have got all the numbers yet. So after dial another number because he's going to come from a family of that tribe of that nation of that section of that race and he's got to be of the house of Jesse Abbott way when not finished yet. We got to dial another number. Not all descendents of Jesse, but there has to be a particular woman. Isaiah chapter 7 says she is a virgin so you got a bridge and from that family from that tribe from that nation from that section from that race. But not just any woman. She has to be a virgin and not just a virgin and any place. But she has to be a virgin in Bethlehem. That woman of that family of that tribe of that nation of that section of that race and she has to give birth to a baby, but not just any time she has to give birth to a baby at a specific time prophesied by the prophet Daniel in Daniel chapter 9 and so if you just keep dialing these numbers. Just this minute and pick up the phone and only in this Jesus, the son of God that you think that just happens. Do you think that's just that just happens now you see the Scriptures when Jesus taught the Bible and he opened the Bible and began to show them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

He's willing to open the Scriptures to us and he opens the Scriptures and he opens our eyes now let me just before Passover. The third and final thing I want to tell you that the prophecies concerning the second coming of Jesus are going to be fulfilled just as literally as those concerning his first coming same Bible. Many miss the blessing of his first coming because they did not understand the Scriptures are. They did not believe all fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken, I don't hurt your feelings but there's something wrong with your mind is something wrong your heart if you don't believe by which Jesus would say to you, your foolish and your heart is very slow if you don't understand Scripture. The world is not through with Jesus, but I want to say something this world is through without feasts. He is coming again. Now we talked about the discouragement of a confused heart. We talked about the challenge of a confronted heart and now I want you to think about the declaration of a convinced heart.

Notice what happened to these people look at you in verse 28 now, after Jesus had been with them and they drew nigh into the village whether they went, and he made as though he would have gone further but they constrained you know most of us have about all of God. We want most is about all of God. We won't if we don't happen was because we don't want anymore that many times in the Bible where Lord looks like he will stay away from us. Jacob was wrestling with Angel.

Angel said let me go when a good night. You know that Jacob could and held onto an Angel Angel really want to get away five mistakes. Angel said let me go.

Jacob said I will not let you go unless you bless me as just what the angel wanted to hear so many times the Lord looks like EE doesn't care won't matter sorrowful nation woman headed demon possessed on. She said master do something for my daughter Jesus. It I just come the Lordship assets rose and I can take the children's bread and give it to dogs. Can you imagine in speaking that way should suggest Lord but even the dogs get the crumbs voices woman, great is your faith range is your thing there so many times as it seems as if the Lord is trying to get away what he wants us to do is depress all and the and we have about all of God.

We want Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled and soaked in verse 29. They constrained him, saying, abide with us for this. Toward evening and the days are spent, he was glad they said that any women to carry with them and came to pass, as he said it meet with, he took bread, and blessed it break gave it to them and they'd seen them do that before actual and their eyes were opened and they knew him and he vanished out their site and they said one to another, did not allow our heart burn within us while he talked with us. By the way, and while he opened to us the Scriptures and they rose up the same hour and returned to Jerusalem and found 11 gathered together, and them that were with them saying here's what they said the Lord is risen in deed and have appeared to Simon and they told what things were done in the way and how he was known of them in the breaking of the bread and as they thus spake Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and said unto them, peace be in you while on stop right there. But these disciples now are gathered together that talking about these things clear for us and the other disciple comes and they come the new conclusion and it.

Here's the conclusion that I want you to come to and I want Adrian to come to. I don't want you to come to the conclusion and I that Jesus is risen. I believe were about 100% only conclusion I want you to come to tonight is he is risen indeed. Not his risen me that that's one thing but they say it's a real idiot Israel. All is risen in deed and immediately went back to Jerusalem with this news, they shouted to tell it to sing it to share, and you might as well told the sun shine is a tell these people not to witness about a risen Savior. You know what I think most of us in this room made. We need to have our eyes open because the Bible has been open hearts need to be set aflame and we donated dead orthodoxy. We need a living faith.

He is risen indeed a man father bring the message to our hearts may waiter Lord to see you no longer with the eyes of the flesh Lord with the spiritualized issue open the Scriptures, open our eyes open our hearts to your truth.
