My wife Teresa to help you see yourself the way God sees you fellas don't go away if you ever wonder why you have a tough time communicating with that important woman in your life. You can learn today how they think that's today. Thanks for listening to this Edition of Living on the Edge coach with Living on the Edges of international discipleship industry treatment daily Bible teaching of adjustability chips wife Teresa will pick up nurseries precious in his sight part two of her message Cinderella to a princess today shall provide some really struggles both men and women deal with on a day-to-day basis and how you can begin to see yourself the way God's will that hears Teresa with the rest of her talk a couple years after I were married. He was able to adopt my two little boys never forget receiving their male and ground on their first anything anymore. It was no longer legal and where father's name birth fathers. They were born now into a new file name along to my belong to and they were eight years now and the only school in the old life is gone and that her life is God's children into the family of God we become heirs of together and all that he is an old life is gone forever.

So we have a new entity. We have a new name and we belong to the family of God before Christ. I was unrighteous I was unrighteous. I could try to make myself righteous by doing good things I could try to make myself a good person that I can ever make myself right with God. In Titus 35 it says it, not by works of righteousness is done by saying he saved us, not like anything we have done because we only through Christ that we can be adopted into the family is not by anything we can do.

We can never earn our way we can ever get anything good enough to earn our way to get to the family after Christ. I have been declared righteous been declared righteous God stamp of approval is now on my life. Second Corinthians 521 says he made him is no sin to be sent on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in him.

You see, at that moment that moment that I accepted Christ into my life. All out on Christ and he took them to the cross and he paid the money for everything that I had ever done wrong. Everything I ever do wrong paid for clean clean person and because of what Christ has done on his life for me. I'm now on for this forgiveness and this gift of eternal life, and only had to do was open my heart and receive God had done for me by faith alone. By trying to do anything and I didn't have to get my life altogether before I did that because he knew that I can anyway knew that my life was on the staff that I needed him what he could make out of me by faith I accepted that free gift and immediately I was declared righteous. See over here. I was unrighteous. Now I'm flared righteous on good person, God declares I'm a good person. Isaiah 6110 says I will rejoice greatly in the Lord my soul will exalt my God, for he has clothed me with garments of salvation, he has wrapped me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland and as a bride adorned herself with her jewels.

I love that verse I think about how he closed with his righteousness were different for different now given new close casinos and Rela rags are gone forever on forever and I'm a righteous standing before God, and you will never change. You will never change no matter what I do. I have a new position. I have an identity and new nature that I didn't have before and I have life. Now I want to take a little parentheses here and just define something that important for us as believers to understand just so that we don't get confused about the difference between positional righteousness and practical righteousness. There is a difference.

I wanted to make sure that he understood.

Good that when I was when I was born again by faith I accepted Christ came and hung on the cross for my sins and I came into my life at that. I was declared righteous.

I was declared a righteous person.

I became a member of the family of God in my place and family will never change is secure secure for all eternity. When God looks at me he looks at me through the robe of righteousness that he's given to me. He sees the life of Christ in a Erica Jason Mike Mike, my twin boys became ships sons out of his love for them and always be a sense always a sign they belong to him and he had his name in there in line to inherit all that should has ever replaced just they had that position and that's how it is with us and the family of God.

When we are saved we are declared righteous. We had that position were part of the family will never lose it and that is called positional righteousness. Another word for its justification, just as if we had never send were declared righteous and I've given you by definition there in your notes and the difference between these two now the children and family disobey yes they do, and do they make mistakes. Of course do they need to grow. Do they need to learn all of those things and in our spiritual lives. We in the process of learning to live out on a daily basis.

What we already have points are true about us say is called practical righteousness. Another word for that you may come across is called progressive sanctification is important that we understand this and this practical righteousness is that process of growing to maturity in Christ. That process forward transformed in our lives in obedience to God and we want to do his will.

Instead of wanting to do what we wanted, dealing with the world tells us to do. Now that's not achieving perfectionism is not being perfect will never be perfect this side of heaven were all God's children, we belong to him that we still live in these earthly tents, and there we these natural bodies, and we have a tendency to want to do things our own natural way because we've always done that way and then we had to learn way to do and in the power of Christ, and we live in a corrupted world and we had an enemy, Satan, who is always trying to tempt us and to get us to do wrong and then we put that all together with our natural flesh. 20 to 22 Have Things Our Way and in everything. We don't need God. We do things we do things outside of his will.

Still in the family position is secure as we grow in that relationship with God the thinking begins to change in our outward actions to begin to reflect who we really are the children of the living God, and I seen a lot in my life.

I don't know about you but I still sin a lot when I do I know that I can run to first John 19, which tells me that if I will confess my in that he is faithful to forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness that all I have to do on try to earn my way back to God because I'm already securing my position with him that I need to go and confess my sin to him. Sin in a believer's life does break this sweet fellowship with our Lord. It's like when a child disobey and ascending to Israel and the fellowship is broken for a while still. It's restored with repentance and sustain our relationship with God. He hated man man and he cannot bless our lives are not obedient to him. So it's important that as we go through each day that we continually confess the sins that come to our mind.

Now today I a lot less than I did 10 years ago and as I continue to grow in Christ. As I continue to allow him to have control my life. I know that 10 years from now will see an even less than I do today but I know that the part of my life and will never be perfect, but you know want unforgiven and am secure in my position in the family of God and that will never change and I know that in heaven that I will be perfect and I will have a perfect body by which he to understand the difference between these two positional righteousness declared righteous physician and never changes.

In practical righteousness living out we already are on an everyday basis are true and they are a little bracket or something says I am now a righteous person in God's sight. Since I have trusted Christ, I am covered with the robe of his purity and his goodness. Since I have a new nature I'm a good person in my general practice of life. As I continue to grow in Christ that about yourself. You're a good person that you are righteous in the sight of God.

Your convert with his robe of righteousness. I'm going to share tonight.

The rest of my Cinderella story and Lumina learn some tools tonight of how to change our thought patterns how to reprogram the way that we think we can live out our lives, according to whom God says we truly are. Before we in this morning. I will answer some questions to know what does embracing this truth that I am a good person in God's sight. Since I trusted Christ denying righteous about embracing this truth and what what makes a difference anyway know what difference does it make if I believe this or not. And so if I embrace this truth, it should affect my life.

It should affect the way I live in two major areas in the first one is I no longer have to trying to earn God's approval and acceptance because I already have it to try to earn it anymore. I already have it. We have Ephesians 289 there for by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God not as a result of works, and knowledge, and though she seemed can earn away to heaven, we can earn our way to salvation, and now our position is secure as we live out our life as we live out our Christian life is pain we are secure. We can earn that position anymore.

We can earn what we already have in us that we are righteous no matter what we do know matter how we mess up with this truth in mind that I know it no longer have to try to earn God's approval and acceptance need to expose to greatness that sometimes Christians that had either consciously or unconsciously about themselves and is that God only loves and approved, may when I do certain virtual activities and God approves of me or ECG approves me more when I read my Bible and when I pray and when I go to church and when I serve him and I fellowship with other believers. Sometimes I think and I live like he approves of me more when I do that because it is easier righteous in his sight.

Any approves of the loves you do you see because your position is secure.

You are righteous in his sight I can do anything bad enough in my life right now to lose my position in Christ. I have it is secure nor does doing certain spiritual activities of Bernie brownie points with God now. It's a great thing to read your Bible is one the most important things we can do in our lives, but it is not herby brownie points with God because I'm already secure, I already have it now. I do know things I spend time in God's word and I pray and I serve him because I love him I serve him out of that relationship that we have an I have a desire to grow into no him and it pleases God. When I do that and he blesses blesses those things. But you see those things do not get me brownie points and they're not earning me anything because I'm already secure in him.

The second death. If I make a mistake or fail at something, then dynasty of failure and should be punished well if we go back to our truth if I'm already approved of. And I'm already righteous and that means I don't have to do everything perfectly right and it needs it is okay to fail that when I make a mistake or on sale that does not make me a bad person. I'm going to fail. Sometimes we all are going to fail sometimes but I cannot failure and you are not a failure last summer we were at barcoding. The books in the library and we took on this huge task of them computerizing the library to church and so we got everything ready I everybody lined up in worked in Louisburg for hours and on a few weeks later we discovered that we had barcoded 700 books wrong about feeling like you are a mess and it was so wonderful I was talking to my sister for Dana on the phone and I was telling her what happened she ran" that she had just ran out of the cheese and she said failure is the opportunity does start again more intelligently know how much that helped me a lot about 90 better than I did before. I understand how to do it now know God can control it is okay. We got that work done a lot later than I thought we would gain God's timing and God's timing. We got it doing it all the ladies at work. So much fun being together… Just great, but fail sometimes things fail sometimes but that does not make you a failure really need to remember that I can learn I can learn from my failures. I can gain the experience. It helps me grow means that I am the wall around in discouragement and getting down on myself because got down on the exact cause of my team for me to coach and he's cheering you on. Is not down on you when you fall. He says that he immediately reaches and holds the spine and let us fall very far. We seem to grab hold and he never ever gives up on his children. He never gives up on you, so don't you ever give up on yourself because he never gives up on you. Third myth is that I need other people's approval in order to be happy. Now tell you right now that that is a big fat lie. We don't need everyone's approval in order to be happy. I got the approval and that's all that really matters all that really matters.

I'm free to be who God made today. Now there's always someone seems like comes along and are our lives.

It has a good plan for your life right then you know just exactly what God's will is for your life and what you're supposed to do and they know you're supposed to be involved in ministry. You're supposed to be doing that and there's always people that will come into our lives like that and number never going to make everyone happy and pleased by the decisions that we make. It means that sometimes I'll disappoint people. It means that I say yes every time someone asked me or expects me to do something means that I have the freedom to say no freedom to say no and not feel guilty. I remember times that I told people that I couldn't do something and just condemn myself for a week and felt guilty about letting people do you finally realize you know what God wants me to do and it means that I have the freedom to determine what God's will is for me and then to do it on someone else's disappointment, and even if that means that you need, especially by me and it means that I had the freedom to set boundaries in my life that are reasonable and good for me. It will help me become the kind of person was me today is running around all the time doing everything everybody except me to do.

I'll never know what to do and what he wants me today we see Jesus set boundaries in his life that he set boundaries. He said no. There were many many needs that Jesus didn't mean many many people that he didn't talk to love his people and he cared for them, but he didn't stop and meet every need.

Did the will of his father did exactly what God wanted him to do and he knew God's plan for his life. He knew that that would mean say no to some very good things God respects your boundaries. Have you ever thought about that he respects your boundaries in Revelation 320. It says God says, I stand at the door knock that just Margie and stands at the door worth your heart.

He says if anyone hears my voice and opens he waits for you to open. I will continue and be with him. So God respects your boundaries and we should at least respect our own boundaries and others for this leads us to our second, the truth second truth, the way that this should affect my life and it is I don't have to live with guilt, condemnation, and defeat over past sins and failures because I'm already forgetting then down every now bring up on his garbage all the time. Isaiah 113 says that though our sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white clean clean Psalm 103 says as far as the east is from the West. So far as he moved our transgressions from last to completely remove the slate is wiped clean all the fans listed next to my name were embraced. They were a race never to be entered again when displayed in your mind with your slight deed keep writing up sand CRE asked God to forgive you for putting it back up there to compare your slight with God's ladies clean.

We must stop condemning ourselves because God is not condemning us.

Romans 812 says.

Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. No condemnation.

Now there are some of us who have done terrible things in our past, and we done things that we wished we had never done but if you have accepted Christ payment for your sins and you need to ever bring those things unthinking.

The slate is wiped clean and couple of things in my past some things that I wish that I had never done some things that I'm not really proud of and every so often in just the right circumstances.

Satan will bring this thinking. I still wanted the game in our lives and bring those things to my mind in a vivid way else rolling it over and then accusations, the condemnation comes master condemning myself of who I am and then I begin to feel like a bad person and I feel undefeated like an unworthy got monies my life and how we use someone who did things like that. But I've come to really embrace that I have a righteous standing before God.

That is who I am and that those sins that I committed a long time ago for Neil to the cross.

They were paid for and remembered no whereby God and I'm free and free from the guilt and punishment in the condemnation of those sins.

I'm free and often listen to the lies I don't have to listen to the lies of Satan brings to my mind and I've learned that as soon as is condemning thoughts come that I need to write and stop them. I need to refuse to dwell on and they remind myself that I'm forgiven, forgiven, forgiven, need to focus on what's true and sometimes does a picture of something in my past will come to my mind and I've learned to ivy learning is my own pictures in my mind like I just picture stand the place right over that picture that is forgiven and I desisted a little game that I played in my mind. I think the spiritual one think because of the truth that when the subconscious sisters and approved forgiven you are so wonderfully forgiven and now we need to live as live in the freedom that we possess as believers we know are still in the sand because we live earthly bodies that are, we can we still try to do things our way instead of God's way don't have to live with condemnation and live that way. We just need to run to God adjusting around him with his dear heart and confess our sins in our fellowship with him will be on lately restored immediately. The process is and it is a process is lived out through our lives, and it takes time.

It takes time for God's truth to penetrate our minds and into replace those negative beliefs that we have with with his truth and to realize no longer a Cinderella at that now were God's princess and we belong to him and that's who we truly are is a little song that hides the sing-along, Tommy Gourley, my Christian life and it goes like this is little by little every day. Little by little every way. Jesus is changing me since I made that turnabout phase. I've been growing in his grace. Jesus is changing me changing me, my blessed Savior. I think person today always been slow going, but there's a knowing one day perfect.

The 20s doing in our lives.

What we get for our sins for our lives of the things we've done that we know are wrong. The wages of sin is death, but the free gift.
