Today we have sort of a Christmas edition, were a madman and how fun it is to think about things this season and I always am amazed at how God takes people's passion and use it to build the kingdom and it seemed like we have so many opportunities this time a year to share all sorts of interesting things in so many different instrument interesting ways. Well first off, we have a gentleman I never met him before. His name is Jay Howard and he is with a ministry where was that his website is called focus on the faulty welcome J. Bradley, so I'm I'm guessing that that's a bit of a takeoff in Focus on the Family. I think we like to think that 803 and they did need a boot to the family can only focus on the faulty so what is focus on the faulty ministry called religious research project. The website it all the but for 35 years now, I've been ministry has been based in the area of calls apologetic world religion and I do seminars run the country, done international work for many years and we could be to teach on you know how to how an average Christian can share the gospel with the a Jehovah's Witness or more minority Scientologist or a person who is in the occult, like that because there is so many in a lot of told you. I think what you say in the beginning, a show and we just trying to find ways to get people and Avenue share the gospel with all kinds of people.

Now you can see that this an interesting discussion today on kingdom pursuits is what Jay doesn't know C6 and find out is it Robbie was in the sea organization that would be me of the Church of Scientology in Los Angeles. Jorg was well so I'm more than familiar with Scientology. Actually very familiar with and so it'll be interesting discussion we have.

Along those lines because I have experience on that that most people really have no concept of but anyway also with me today to take to round out my Christmas Advent show this today we have Ken heater when my favorite friends is been with me many many many times on kingdom pursuits. He is the Executive Director of the Winston-Salem rescue Mission and Christmas is a huge time for you guys is a dish I Robbie and it's it's really great to be back with you. I always enjoy it with you and share and and and talking to see what God's doing Christmas is an exciting time and I'm sure will be talking about some other things that as well and not as much to think about is your pondering like Mary did the inner heart these things about Christmas. Have you got a new believer that you know that's experiencing Christmas for the first time this year. I'm sure the rescue mission you got two or three of those guys and and all the sudden Dave got this heart that is just hungry for what you know they've experienced Christmas for 40 years like me one before I came to Christ. I haven't experienced it, but I never experienced it until I was born again and so wow if you got to me like that and we boot camp last fall.

Can we had a gentleman that got so excited he accepted Christ at the boot camp and he wanted to be baptized in the lake and then you know I gotta find what translation the Bible should like it. Robbie and and just to watch his face in his excitement at Christmas is like that newborn baby or that two or three or all that's opening that first Christmas present, which by the way, I got a really cute video of my soon to be two-year-old grandson opening up book for Christmas that was sent to me other than I looked up at about how wonderful I wanted for so speaking of Christmas you knew I was gonna get to the student. That's my personal I know you like this one. Why is Christmas just like any other day at the office as you do all the work and the fat guy with the suit gets the credit. When Natasha was going to say it's and in that respect it's Christmas all year long because a the greatest part really is seeing guys a come in broken without hope and just messed up. They really wrecked their lives and to see them get a hold of the principles in the relationship with Jesus Christ and start applying those in walking those it's they become new people I've seen such transfer make transformations from the physicals part of it to just be the attitudes the mental part and right now we have a a group of guys that are really serious about what they're doing there really focused in encouraging each other and paying attention and applying is just it's an amazing miracle you know.

And when Christ talks about it, you might have life that you might have it abundantly and the sea that actually live data needs guys and see that transformation that is the greatest present ever, while an inner left arm, jealous that you get to see that. But I you know all of us can have an opportunity that I couldn't recommend high enough sift you want to have a really fun adventure with your family this Christmas you could go down to the church of Scientology that would be an interesting time but I would bet if you go to the rescue mission. They will give you a tour and I think you will have a chance to see Christmas and in a new angle can set those tours to the rescue mission in a right when I first came to work for truth broadcasting. Many many many years ago. It took me on a tour and I never forgotten it. I've never gotten the men and how they responded and so that's available for you and your family this Christmas.

And believe me I I understand completely why they're calling me why they stay on the phone why you can't get them off the phone, you know, because I understand the principles that they been taught and what it is that they're trying to do what what what is your advice to to somebody in the church of Scientology. Well when I character Scientology over the years and got with them is more like EEM haven't even met uncle weird but you'll get regular unpaid people because you know that there's no real you know there's no real crossover between biblical Christianity and ontology. You know they believe in patent and being clear and all the things in hell unity sharing the gospel with them. Aaron taped it. Really, you don't really have to debunk their their beliefs, because taught to read the title insects had memorized the gospel of John. And they believe that's all part of the deal, but they don't really see you know they don't eat the same way the Christians do them all that there is no doubt they can make lines all over the place and there, but you do have an interesting conflict right there immediately because although sale you can be a Christian completely and still be a Scientologist and I love you I love that what you're doing Robbie I love your faith. That's awesome, but you can also still be a Scientologist well here to open a nine related to lecture with Wheatley went on and content quality in Clearwater Florida which is known as true the church. It is now I did yesterday but you and they were very aggressive toward the schedule and still not sure how they did that, but they had an agent in every meeting that I was in every meeting that Craig was in and they basically just glared at it from the front row neuropathy lien on the additional there's no camaraderie. You know that the they talk about you not heard the latest mean it, but you can be a Christian to be an antalgic conditional problem at their very hostile to biblical Christianity until there really is you know that there's no crossover.

There is no similarities things that you can now I wouldn't necessarily agree with you there. The word hostile. This is is an interesting word and I think a lot of people really fear the church of Scientology because they don't understand much about it and it it's like I imagine that if I came out of the. The Mormon church.

I would have a completely different view of it is well-liked.

Understanding the lies that there entrapped by an anytime you tell somebody that they can't save themselves you're gonna know the gospel is is confronting thing that that that really puts people mad enough to kill you. You know, but as far as you know what they are taught in whatever they're not necessarily coming in their as aggressively like I'm go after Christians. I don't know. I would my experiences, not them. That's what I could say to that but it is it is a fascinating thing and so moving and interestingly we also have Ken here with us and and some can.

I'm I'm curious on your take on all that I'm probably not I get too far into something I'm not as familiar with, but as you talk about the subject.

There's there's actually a lot of parallelism in any system right even your mainstream churches because if you get the focus and allow the focus to be on me and what I can do to get myself to heaven right I don't care what your teaching bases. If that's your belief in an activity and as long as I live a good life and I treat people right now given I'm kind I don't murder anybody in all, the whole list right you know then that's that's the same problem because we only have life in the finished work of Christ and him alone. Nothing that we can do work honestly working with our guys on this as well because many of them will come in with religion. They been well exposed to teachings and even to truth, but they haven't understood it and accepted it and made that a central part of who they are and their relationship with Jesus Christ in developing that instead and letting the truth come from the source of truth, I would say J in my own experience with Scientologist the tribe had many many many as you might imagine, because, like Groundhog Day every week that if I try to take on their belief system which I can do because I understandably system really really really well to get into the sea organization. The church is Scientology you have to go through a lot and you have to raise through the ranks and I was his permission or in the sea organization. I wasn't just in the city organization, so I had a real lot of training in most of the technology of Scientology understand well enough to discuss it with anybody I've ever had on the phone and a great detail, but I can tell you because it's like Groundhog Day and have that conversation again in a week with somebody else. I've never had anywhere close to any fruit taking on their belief system where I get fruit is by saying you know I love Scientology when I was there, but I found some that really is just made all the difference in my life where I feel like I have life, and I have it abundantly like you read about in John when I do not even understand what abundant was when I was in Scientology and and and and you begin to get there attention then, but that that this mean that the things is good to go down but I am.

I'm curious with talking to other religions. If you ever had any progress in actually taking on their belief system. Well I witness to all kinds of Mormon children, Scientologist people in the Unification Church.

You know you keep doing it out over the years and younger due to the improved more often not what I do, but I like to do is plant the of information that the unit contrary to the called or is biblical truth that can you basically caused them to doubt what they believe and that's really the key to getting a person out of a cult is first they have to start to meet his annual internal problem with like the history of the group or the belief that some of the group and once they actually get taped to a point where they realize it is some issue that they they don't have answers to once again I'm in a jump in here and say that is my experience because I didn't come out a search Scientology from the standpoint of oh, Scientology, and believe me I know a lot about Ron Hubbard.

I know way more than I want to know about Ron Hubbard and also to different levels, not to mention I've talked to the man and in an and listen to. I don't how many of his lectures so II have a real grasp on them but I didn't come out. Of that, because I understood that the where the lies were actually Christ came after me and big and in and through my wife and and through other Christians that were in my life that were just they didn't even take on scientific and even most of them even though my wife know about it. But most of them didn't even know about it. They were just beginning to show me what you know their relationship with Christ and in those kind of things and doubt and and what I saw of the air is what made all the difference. Like oh I can do this and and all that other stuff. Once I began to understand what Christ was offering me, then all that began to look like live so I don't mean to be argumentative, but I thought I'd throw that out there.

This past fiscal year and just we can't do that without the partnership that we experience from folks and so were were trying to raise about $430,000 here at the end of the year and so were were looking for folks just prayerfully consider and and challenging them to let God move their hard what he wants him to do, because ultimately he is our supply, but he wants to use individuals and be able to go to our website and and be able to give their with the donate now button. You know who might recommend Robbie and I actually just first on my list of subordinates tell you that if if you want to see fruit like man lives that are changed as I see these go to their graduation go take up tour go you anytime you want and and see what God's doing at the Winston-Salem rescue Mission and you know just blows my mind. You know the different men because again I've had a chance to over the years, do all the interviews and and so I have the added actually experience.

I have this guy in front of me telling me I was on drugs. I was on alcohol.

I was suicidal. I just got out of prison and you know my life was in the ditch and now look what happened and one of the beauties is the families all are involved.

You know that wives get their husbands back brothers get their sister and mother are sisters get their brother back.

Mothers get their kids back and you have one of those stories, one share I do is one gentleman, the mother share her thoughts and I just want to share couple is with you here, says the Winston-Salem rescue Mission welcomed him talking about her son with open arms. No judgments and only Christlike love. I've always contributed to this organization and she talks about how to fit what you donate, and so forth and not but in my wildest dreams I didn't fathom the impact they could have a young man's life and not just anyone but my very own son is and transform into a walking testimony of his belief and is grown and matured in a way that can only be attributed to Christ. She goes on to say that children he wants ignored now know he's there. Dad and how God is changing him and then he's now telling others what he wants refuse to believe himself that there is no place and person. God's love cannot reach. No one is too far gone for God whose power can change anyone and anything and so in NJ 100 in your ministry. You have a chance to talk to a lot of lost souls to is there a story or somebody you saw come out of Adam and begin a relationship with Christ you want to share well equipped years ago I was called in by it. After a woman. Who would who is a Mormon and so I did.

Can we head down with the young woman and I shared with her several problems of Mormonism that you know he had never considered before and he later became a Christian.

I mean, I didn't pray with her that day but she later became a Christian became very committed to her faith, but anything that you seen a lot in the cult is on people who are following false teaching.

Once a year they come to faith deliver mean they become really very vibrant Christian because you know they basically were. We were in slave. There they were following a false gospel account of the gospel and accounted Christ and encountered God in Alameda on the rail of the genuine article. They become really really plugged into the gospel plug into Christianity and they typically become Carino the unity of the work in the church. They do anything they can to help the church mean they get really, really great Christian because they serve the altar so it's interesting that you mentioned that I had a chance to view a movie that's coming out in March.

That's absolutely phenomenal is called unplanned and it's the story of her name was Abby Johnson that was with Planned Parenthood in Houston Texas and she ran the Planned Parenthood and in that area and threw 40 days for life and other organizations playing every weekday at the fence and she became sheet she left Planned Parenthood and joined him at the fence and and is become very vocal, wrote the book on plan another's movie coming out about her life, but as you watch the story in this movie, which again you don't want to miss this March.

It was the people at the fence that loved on her and reached out to her in love.

They didn't tell her that she was a baby killer that didn't have much effect on her. Obviously, how do you like that, but the once it said all Abby, how are you I see your point. You know you fixed have a baby and and really engaged in her life and treated her like she was a person and they really loved her. You know those were the ones that when she wanted to get out of Planned Parenthood to guess who she ran to an end so you know it.

It's the same thing when were looking at anybody even alcoholic or drug addict right, you can sit there and condemn them for what they're doing now gone much. It's grace it changes things in well we got had to realize a long time ago that were all sinners include me and God is showing us grace and we need to show that same grace of the people. Ultimately it it is crucial not only we share the right things with folks but that we do that with that spirit of love and caring and kindness and grace that God is showing us because ultimately it's God who does the changing God who does the work but use this as a vessel to help prep that and and how we conduct ourselves in that sharing of truth is gonna make all the difference to answer. If you go on that I'd be almost willing to bet if you go on the tour to Winston-Salem rescue Mission. The season and you have a chance to talk to one of the guys for minute one of the questions they will ask you this. Why would you care about me enough they feel like a failure. They feel like why would anybody give up any time to come visit me. Why would anybody do anything for me and that of very common thing that they feel absolutely and end the thing is, we if you've not been through something like that, we who have not experienced it firsthand. Do not realize the depth to which they have fallen because they come to the place normally what they've lost everything there there feeling guilty that there are self-images is torn apart their failures. Third, everything is just messed up that they touch and they come in at the bottom and we can't we don't look at them that way because we're at the bottom and God takes them and then the dramatic changes that happens from that. In fact, one guy one guy's testimony is three lines here. I want to share with you after you graduate from the program and came to the other side successfully say my values and priorities have changed, so that I can feel happy about the quality of life I'm living.

I do not live in fear anymore. My mistakes in the past no longer define me today. I will live out the rest of my life with my hello head held high, knowing that I am a child of God and that you stay a radical change from the mindset and the feelings and the experiences that they come in with. Not that there's anything magical about us, but God uses his truth to transform these lives individually and he gives us the opportunity to be vessels and instruments in that process and those who support this ministry also have that same instrumentality that God is using to accomplish his purposes, which only he can do in person and you think that every Johnson stand in their defense and she's thinking why would that person care anything about me because I'm the enemy to them and and and that stands up in the crowd to go hot. Why is this person talking to me like this and really what you do.

Jay is exactly that your caring about people that a lot of us know judges there there there and I called their their poisoning the minds of the brethren, and when you reached out and love to those people. I mean, that's a huge thing that really needed sharing the gospel with people and called you know I'm also working with that date. If you trying to get him to camp to talk to social student who are in all ADE utilities and ETN Khalifa Elliott people like feeding their professors and screaming at people and attacking people and as they worked on the new presentation is going on movement and realizing that the student are totally live there. There like denying a cult, but there there to totally live probably didn't have much Christian upbringing when they're younger and they will debate glommed onto the social justice movement now and is become their inner lifeline and handed it there way of of angular tufted worthwhile people, but you know you can count the hatred and anger that comes out they really need.I want to get into what you talk about social justice and we come back, but I am shocked that nobody knows the ninth reindeer. If you look at the Aston Scientology you can see there's two triangles and they are the ARC McKay RC triangles and if you really are engage with somebody who understands Scientology and speak. Scientology is going to act on their teaching in Scientology. ARC is a huge deal to them in that triangle of ARC stands for a felony affinity which means loving and liking of somebody, reality and communication and so the reason why you would never and I know there's a lot of shows on Scientology began to show that their hostile and all the stuff that I was can tell you some is really tight, taught in Scientology. They will never flow anger to you they will never flow hostility because they know that would ARC break. In other words, they're trying to agree on a reality which is one of the three points of that triangle and so for us to have reality we have to have affinity and we have to have communication. So if I hang up the phone a motorbike communication as I can never get them off the phone is because they don't want ARC break events reason why they will never flow anger if there really well-trained because you know that would ARC break you and you couldn't come to the same reality and again there there trying to proselytize you at the same time you're trying to proselytize them and so while it trying to sell you on Scientology. They would never flow hostility you know is just work or they did they really don't understand their own religion is at work so that is the interesting thing you know, when you when you face that dilemma is how do I get this guy off the phone so we got Peyton in Raleigh.

I mean your heart becomes consumed with. I've got to be clear or you know I've got a be amongst the hundred and 44,000 you know if your Jehovah's Witness EEE you become addicted to this stuff and it's a trap because you bought the lie arrival we found that our programs and services are effective because they are Christ centered and Bible-based, and understanding that in understanding the principles of Scripture is very clear that again we talk about God is one is going to change their heart where the where the vessels and more than that the instruments that are used as we share the truth of God's word but I've I'm not only seeing this applied in the lives of of these men at the programs but even on my own personal life with my own son just two years ago he was 35 at the time he finally made a decision to accept Christ as Savior.

But it was not there anything that we had done. His parents, but God really had to work personally in his heart and life and bring home the truth of his love for John and John's a dynamically different person. Today, because of the love and truth of Jesus Christ. It's funny you mentioned that to steer just to go way off on a rabbit trail. I want to do when Jacob is blessing his children.
