Kingdom pursuits where you hear from ordinary people instilled with an extraordinary passion together we explore the stories of men and women who take what they love and let God turn their passion into the kingdom pursuits now live from the truth. Your host Robbie Gilmore. Welcome to the kingdom pursuits or how God takes and uses it to build the kingdom. We got guests from all over this morning. We got to get him on the phone but were working on it.

We've got Sharon Bryson and Marcus Brown. They are blossoming first and recorded recording artist and boy they got a story to tell. Welcome Sharon so your story was actually on the 700 club right yet and you were stabbed a number of times in and so were we are not here a whole lot about that but tell us little bit about your husband to bear out uncut tactic that they connect the piano out the beautiful.

It really and they are all locked up like it will just cut off. Sharon and I got Marcus, I'm sorry Marcus to call back your life and the sickness and sometimes his phone system. Does that but nonetheless it's good to have you on with this and she told us little bit about you. Maybe you can tell us a little bit about your wife. Oh okay love Erin Brightman and all the church all her life traveled all over the world. There, the minister, the world story and many think that God done for the life of any may not close their entry resurrected to and she will definitely fill you in on the story but it's a wonderful one to show how great God is really it is and it's an interesting thing. We got Sharon back to Malad somehow another got to get this to where I don't keep doing that, but Sharon maybe can send and spend the second and say how did your from Vancouver, Canada in your husband's knee from South Carolina and I made you met at the wedding where where it can't affect eyeliner oh so you are at a wedding in Charleston. I very high.

Thank you I am highly equating and loss. All right, well, our third guest today we have is Donald James Parker and Donna. We had you wanted a few times because your you got your nonviolent Iranians mostly as a movie maker but now you're an author, yes I am you got several books that have come out in the last couple years so what's how did how did you go from moviemaker to author Billy around actually started out writing book affect my first movie script in 2011 I'd already written about 10 books at that point in time and in the since people don't seem to want to read these days, I decided that movies were a better vehicle to reach them saw it twice which make movies but I never stopped writing the book to because easy to take a movie script and then be adapted into a novel by just adding more material that's what I've done so for those of you familiar with all his movies include grandpa, shoes and tell our listeners little bit about him. Well I got it to part series called grants go to college and n-gram shoes actually shot them in reverse. I made the engram shoes was the first one I did transpose the college as a prequel because that person had done so well in and so then I also did a three part series about some couple elderly gentleman that collected to harass each other. Called best friend series best friend eternally best friends reconciled recycled to me, and best friends genetically modified and then I did some singles one called the unexpected bar mitzvah level weights old rugged cross and mission improbable. So basically Mike my commission I got from God was to go after evolution. Harry Potter and the sexual revolution, so most of most my materials deal with those topics in some fashion. I weave those things into whatever topics I have been working have lots more with with Donald and you can see we've got a number of different artists today on kingdom pursuits and speaking of art. Speaking of art or music so I'm very excited about speaking of art, underground art and about you Rachel, but have never thought about that artist causes sketchpad home say that or my sister fell in love with the circus trapeze artist. First we thought she was attracted to his net worth, but she said it was his gravity defying leaves and father both flying high now and the cardiovascular system is a work of artery right but it's also really vein and so at the end of the shenanigans you know I would actually have a riddle today which is good to be back. I miss Joe last couple weeks so we have a little today and that one is who was the first artist in the Bible while who is the first artist in the Bible, and you can call us at 866-34-TRUTH 87884 tell us it was the first artist in the Bible 866-34-TRUTH, and if they do, Rachel, Tom, that when well I think Colleen Desmarais name book in the kingdom pursuits price file. All right we have a book in store for you. All you have to do is call in 866-34-TRUTH 87884 tell us artist in the Bible and again we have on with us today.

Sharon Bryson Marcus Brown which are both recording artists in the good news is during the breaks.

We will be playing some of their material.

So you get an idea of what that is and how that comes about music playing of mining and still call 66348788486634. Truth tells who was the first artist in the Bible so getting back to Sharon who we started off with an Sharon I'm I'm so glad I bought I managed to get you both on at the same time about cut one of your own.

So that could happen. Our phone system is a bit tricky.

You can do that.

This writer that happens. But now I've got you both at the same time so how did you, you know, kind, it begin the recording process with your husband know where you first was he first or how that happened. All their great pain like I didn't, arm that recording right after I got like backpacks, but I really some Marcus in in your case where you recording prior to having met Sharon I was recording what I was recording solo. It wasn't my project my own. I was always recording other order and fill didn't come into much later after meeting. Met and that's when I decided to start recording my own so okay so we're going to break when we come back you will hear some of Marcus's work in the breaks and the course will have my phone, and all of them are kingdom pursuits.com you can find out more about that call in 866-34-TRUTH 87884 he was the first artist train in the chain finds the single you think about going back. So that is Marcus Brown and Sharon, I'm guessing Marcus is that your wife and the vocals there as well.

That would be happy all interesting. So you are playing the music behind no we have not really collaborate on a project, yet we plan also. That song was actually Sharon's house, my confusion will associate that's okay well I know that our listeners are dying to hear the story but if you would share briefly what what happened that led to your appearance on the 700 club while I back in my quiet time and that I completely made my life and now writing that I shall live and not that the Clagett grinding and I barely got back a minute and I really shouldn't die that day that I had out from the blood I collect in the church like that knowing I was filled with holy yet I like the Chronicle now and I can make you run away from home and you know I'm very nave and empty.

I want them all and then when they get cracking on the people came and I knew a girl questioned me of that which I kept thinking I will not get my car and I really did feel the Holy Ghost coming up, but I ignored it in my high now I watch like you like I and I found that?

Like him and she kindly Gone and they cannot like an hour and I only had Kierkegaard think like a quote from a great trip that $1200 Geo tracker high so that she would you like a lot, but I can't put time shed a finish the job and I was happy. Now that I like to know please let me layer icon, high please get back and scan II just want to thank you like that I don't want it back again and I ended up calling out and hug glad that I push the cart, that a fire with Denali labor that it looked like a higher house and that it where I was covered in black and lack like that, it can't and I on Grady Memorial and I got it in my family back in my neck. It happened my calculator which I would think that that why not now completely direct. The hot going candy and then I went on down the clay out, got out of bed and traveled and even explain the law I yeah right they can try and anchor my mind and I know that I shall not back at the crack in line with my right and down the black after the fact. So what will please all try to absorb. That's hard to hear so painful to think of all that being done to put it. You know, God allows that in a lot of people's lives all sorts of different pains in Donald. I'm wondering how the pain in your life led to your art because you know clearly what type of insurance, life. She went from this this was their pain in your life as well. Nothing that compares with that. I mean we all have pain.

Robbie will have suffered pert rejection and things like that that they cause us to be introspective to examine our lives and wonder what if, and so on. I think any and all federal employees. A good example of a person whose anguish you know led to a lot of their art and soul you know I think a lot of the things that I have the pain I have inside of me has not been involved in my literature that I brought out yet nothing ever will be, but my thing is been basically fighting the cause for the kingdom and know what is. I got involved in doing this I started to see a pattern of how Satan was attacking the church on several different plantings, different levels, different theaters of war for use World War II terms and in my desire was to try to fight against and it let people see what's going on so that the rise of the open and that they can fight against it as well Marcus, I'm curious in your situation, you know, obviously you're very familiar with Sharon's was the pain in your life that led in some ways, to your art. Yeah, I really guy my first project with the impromptu's piano inspirational and dumb. That was kind of like a coming out party from a very complicated and painful divorce that went through and done, even the struggle of getting to be able to see my child in custody battle like that is all I really cared about was making sure was my child's life. Even that was a struggle but the songs captured all that. It also captured the joy to think a lot of times we concentrate on pain because that that's what we feel the most.

But there is always a inkling of joy and reactor become and remember that we have to magnify the little joy that there make it bigger and I find I find it really fascinating that I would put this together. Sharon, until I heard your story but in my own case I had a year where I had a really life-threatening lymphoma that was actually killed.

Killer cell lymphoma and I was supposed to die from that and went to the chemotherapy treatment in my last chemotherapy treatment, my wife and I decided we are going to celebrate on the Jeep jamboree in Asheville, North Carolina, and that's when the Jeep came down the hill and crushed me between almost severing my left leg and I spent the next two years in surgeries in the hospital similar to yourself and as they try to figure out how to put me back together and during that time, God put it on my heart, Donald. Interestingly, to write a screenplay which never became a moot. It was called the full armor and I spent a lot of time doing that.

While I was recovering because I was I was actually in the hospital hospital beds also to stuff all the time and it really developed a lot of the imagination that later became inspiration to all my radio career and and I think I just put that together. That really there was there was some of that in their that I really have never connected but I'm I'm interested.

Sharon, you said that after that you began to record them in and you kinda transition us to that you really know the right thing about me. I alighted crying. I was just so grateful like it when I almost died in not expecting Scott got I just realized couldn't I met with all I wanted to give how my only I wanted great gift talk about how great alighted young tyrant get back to base like no matter what eventually let it be emotional or the caller follow the cracking you around laughing and I like to completely heal and I want to go back to Donald. If you know what I'm I'm watch several of your movies have phenomenally wonderful endings. The kind of sneak up on you and and and really make you feel good is not some of your own story in there that makes you want these things to come out to where there's hope all sure absolutely, you can't. You think you can write what I have in some yourself and it yeah IIII find that absolutely you really challenged by Sharon's life and and and what you know God's done through that when I saw that that the by the way, if you continue pursuit you can see the 700 club interview with her.

You can also hear of the impromptu song that that that Marcus was talking about, as well as all Donald's books are all listed there by the way if if in the and I'm would hope that you would go check those things out and and respond to him but well there's a break, so we've got a come back and I am shocked, shocked that nobody is called in to tell me who was the first artist in the Bible, 866 I'm really dying to hear the answer this by the way, 866-34-TRUTH 87884's number to call and share who was the first artist in the Bible we come back we got more of Sharon Marcus and Donna was some of Marcus's music this time I Marcus about that song title of the end of it was really smart and my relationship with music Street always makes me feel a lot about that. I went through my life on as I was listening to it and doing them, work to do production and listen to a lot of different music and you know it's really uplifting and it really made me smile.

I was like this is a great piece. This is break This is something I I'm I could use some work. You know him and and I do a Christian car guy theater which is kind like adventures in Odyssey only with car parts and and so I use a lot of production music for those kind of things, and I I was just really admiring the joy that was in that piece and it really sense you know what you're feeling there and you know music is such a huge part of our lives and and God meant that you can kinda see how that is meant to worship God and and and from somebody that worships from the standpoint of David. What is that feel like to you is actually creating them notes like you can't really explain it you know it directly from God in your idea, you feel it, hardly explain the evening created kinda hot.

Even the work comes easy come straight from the heart and to know that straight in the heart is the ratio that allows you doing and go and did so for example I want to encourage everyone to just pursue your dream is a lyric that to pursue your dream basic, whatever that might be and I think you said something extremely clinical. There, that music is speaks to the heart more than to the head and you know it's a way for us to communicate like this you know if saying, or you can play an instrument that comes from that place, and I suppose I would. I would just guessing of it. I've heard it said that if your your body is the temple of God in your heart would be the holy of holies the place where really meet with him. And so, with that music playing and you're creating it. It's it's it's almost like you're right there in the holy of holies in sanctuary with him and in an intimate place that really you know them, envious that you get to do that.

Okay so call and Donald moving back to you a minute I I noticed that you I I'm familiar with a lot of your stuff, but I've never seen this mountain top mismatch, what, what's up with that one.

Well, that was one of my worries on last year and influenced by my moviemaking because I made it about a Hollywood starlet who gets lost in the mountains sees the trip and she gets her still phone stolen and she crushes us into the mountains and the snow there and the guy lives out there alone finds her and takes her back to his cabin so it turns out that he had written movies in the past including a blockbuster that had been stolen by another by by a studio so he never got credit for writing it, and she thinks he just a nobody, and she discovers that he is was a somebody of potential somebody anyway talk, this is kind of a fun story that but she, she, somebody would walk away from her face and he was living on him by himself in the mountains and has Tim in Garden City really helps her find find her face again. Well, in any know it's interesting you say that Donald one time I was you heard the movie.

What if that was done with Kenneth Kevin Sorbo and in a couple times yeah and Debbie Ryan was in that movie and I was interviewing her.

As a result of being in that movie and I'll never forget.

I know the beginning of the third segment segment dodges, put on my heart to ask her Debbie. How can we pray for you and she went to two years, and those who don't know Debbie Ryan's big-time Disney star she was.

I can't think of the name will I know the Suite life of Zack and Cody, for she started and then she ended up with Rome showing up on stuff and she was in that movie and she said you know Robbie, nobody's ever asked me and then she said, but you have no idea the temptations that come to a Disney star of all the things that they did that they parade in your face to try to get you to do this and try to get you to do that and I would really really appreciate your prayers and you know when you when you started down that you know of whether starlet and what it means to be in in getting all that fame and and what that what the what comes without Brian, as I'm sure you've experienced somewhat as a movie maker that really I know I'm not part of Hollywood I'm totally independent and so I went into it. Not trying, especially not to be Hollywood is the trap let's create some of the stuff you write about is that that's that mother reasons for that book that we know we so much desire to praise a demand that we ignore the praise of God, which is what we should be seeking and Sharon I know you you probably know what I'm talking about a little bit.

A lot of pressure know that can correct your faith like you I cannot drag alcoholic got a really grounded and very attractive guy cannot find the actual and you can relate. I know this and I had it happen I would not have understood it but when I years ago I bought a Broda article on how to save General Motors is the Christian car guide to the Christian cargo ships and for whatever reason publicist take that up and they said the Fox news and next thing I know they flew me to New York to be on Fox and friends and and and like your time on the 700 club, you know that moment you know millions of people saw me they had me all made up in all this and I'm in this thing and it was absolutely like my Facebook thing blew up my email blew up all these people reaching out to me and all the stuff this moment of fame and then the temptation of how do I keep that you know what I'm saying. So as as you came off the 700 club and you fell all this you know what I'm talking about right yeah yeah so so there's there's this temptation of what do I need to do to keep this wheel spinning to make sure that you know and and it's all vanity. Believe me when I'm talk about in Robbie's case, I don't know about you know Disney stars or whatever but I know it was what was what, with the temptation was in my case it was vanity and it was a fascinating thing that that I can't remember the name of the other talkshow host but anyway make they want to put maybe want to fly me New York same exact kind of thing and then make they can hear came here came the temptation. I said no Robbie we want you to lose the Christian car guide moniker, so to speak. We don't want to mention the Christian car guy we want Robbie Gilmore because Robbie Gilmore knows all about the stuff that we don't want the Christian cargo is a want to say that this is Fox news and and I said will you know Robbie died some time ago. I don't like public didn't like it hard not doing well wanted got added Mike yeah yeah but the but the temptation is real. Robbie, if you'll drop this, then we can really make you a lot bigger personality than if you and Ellen there it is and it it it came really subtly but there was an online wow.

I'm really good.

You know I I'm in no gobble. Find opportunities to make himself glorious and in through my story through your story in the same kind of thing Marcus, I'm bring you into the conversation. If you had some like that happen story. A lot of times when I was in school and college I fired.and I was about 19, going 20 I got an offer to addition for artist Usher going toilet. The R&B singer and I told the guy we pray about it before I even consider going to the audition and just got voice inside of me really strongly encouraged me to stay in school. I was in college he could get my degree, because what it that tour lasted for just a month or two but well I dropped out of school and I didn't want to do that. So I decided to stay in school not being what started out and I'm very glad I did have the temptations, and there's your moment. It's very enticing. So now I am just to say that I you know I know I wasn't here last week we didn't do a little the week before, so God not a habit of answering my riddles and I'm really looking forward to who was the first artist in the Bible come on somebody installing 866-348-7884. If we don't have; I'll have to answer this myself was the first artist in the Bible 866-34-TRUTH 8788 rain in the chain fights the people think about going back to me, and I welcome back to kingdom pursuits which that they were so excited to have Sharon Bryson knew that song is with them by Marcus Brown. Her very gifted husband which I wish I had more music up and got met together. I struggled with some MP4 files that they had and then Donald Parker is movie maker and author of several books again. You can find out more about all three of these four wonderful folks all through these artists really@kingdompursuits.com get their books read them and I'll send then reviews check out their music order it and I'll send then reviews people love to hear you know feedback on how they're doing. So I am very excited because I have an answer for this riddle, but so we have Michelle in Raleigh where Geraldine and Manda North Carolina said two different revelers and Geraldine. If Michelle mentions it. Please stay on the line because I want to talk to you as well.

So don't don't don't give up if you think she gave had your answer because I got lots answers. Okay, so just stay with me and we got Michelle is in Raleigh or on kingdom pursuits good morning Michelle, I love that name. It makes me think of Paul McCartney immediately though she didn't like maybe she'll call back. We lost Michelle and were going to go to Geraldine's in may have been North Carolina and I don't know what happened to me hello hello Geraldine I I am very excited about your answer okay yeah will the first artist in the Bible. I would think would be God while oh, I hadn't thought of that one. That's a great oh my goodness that's a great answer so so hopefully Michelle will call back with her answer but that you're exactly right Geraldine.

Not only did he take the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen. Last night, but the heat just think he wrote all those melodies that the birds sing in the wind blows in all that now. What a great answer. You're absolutely right. Working at work and I send you out a book from the kingdom pursuit price all them so thankful that my answers really lame compared that one but I'm interested we got Michelle back sorghum to get her hang on for me. Geraldine will get your information, we got Michelle back from Raleigh, Michelle, are you still with us all good.

So who are you think it was the first artist in the Bible you see everybody so much smarter than me. That's that is such a great answer. I absolutely love that answer and you absolutely know when might not my answers a little bit different sincerely wants to try that one. Maybe I'll just share it now. See if you look apartment concordance.

The first front place that you will find it is from Adam because God says where art thou, my sense of humor is he was looking for Adams art there. But thank you for calling him God bless you write so getting back to Sharon as as we head into this tell us.

Now you not only are obviously a very gifted vocal artist, but you also teach are you still doing that well and long and hard about how like to think of it I'm narrowing my heart going and where it will nearly ride it coming up on one hand writing all diluted down. I like how you do a whole big ticket sexy and I yeah know that God can [I yeah and then boiling the area on my head and then clicking the select out the x-height will help the home lab, and yet, click what direction I'm I'm going and then write on.

I get ecstatic last night and everything that I am trying not make it.

Betty Eric went from teaching and showing my bike collaborating with Mike lack the Chandler cladding and Ghana. You know it's it's interesting you must been some spiritual warfare going on Marcus because I tried four times to record and prompt which look fabulous but every time I did the player at demo said it was broken down. Sorry you had to come back and play this later. Sorry you have to come back and play this later and every time I went back it wouldn't play and so I was glad that the I got some MP4 files from you this morning Sharon.

But that song is is it about your daughter actually like it. Yeah yeah it is my daughter two years old and named Brooklyn what she always got me to go to currency Brooklyn Bridge.

But again, it's only made it but it was named after which he doesn't know it wasn't an actual plan song. I recorded it in the moment. That's what prompted that, click start playing whatever named Brooklyn think so. There is further okay so I recorded Brooklyn sanctuary this morning. I did and you because you sent me the MP4. I converted it to an MP3 I recorded it. I put it on the computer and when I got ready to do the show. It would not load. And so, after all my my producers that there's a condensate that's exactly what happened. So I say all that to say you need to hear this song in the way you can hear it because I can't play informing the public and was hoping I could is if you go to kingdom pursuits.com there the video for me a link is so that you can see and hear this because obviously Marcus that there's some jazz and stuff in your background that is that kind of where that's coming from.

Yeah it different different from about 12 election on the recording and so creative process. You know, I just love the creative process.

I love the fact that we have three artists with us today and Donald, you know, speaking of the creative process and again the idea behind the show is always been how does God take your passion and use it to build the kingdom. So your sit and I think I've got a passion for writing or you got a passion for music you got a passion for taking care of children, you got a passion for helping homeless, I would love to talk to Marcus about that but but Daniel, I mean Donald. How did God start you with that. Realizing that while you could take your passion here and begin to I know we gave you the. The summons, but what it feel like to actually start putting it on paper and then begin to organize. You know I did know, and I really thought myself at that time because I just don't into it. No got it that expense.

I woke up at 2 o'clock in the morning and their voices said write a book about evolution, and I prayed in the morning as he got it. You asked me to write a book about evolution. He said when you're done with that, go after Harry Potter and the sexual that launched me into doing it and I did know how to relate how to do it but I just wanted to get it and now after 25 books and nine movies I like one writing. I ask your help.

Know the passion and the creative juices and everything is is all great but without the Holy Spirit, and without the guidance of God, wasted motion.

So that's the point I reached right now it's interesting because the creative element.

It's like you know God is the creator and I'm just really in the reflection of him in on so the ideas are coming from. I had so much as I think hopefully hopefully from God. What's the name of the brothers that made all the movies and you know facing the castle sets of brothers and brothers. The kindred brothers I interviewed them right about the time they came out with more room and they said something that's recordable.

They said you know Robbie, there's good ideas than their got ideas exactly is the real deal and and so they said you know what we we keep waiting for an and working on the ones that we know were gone. Ideas and its that's a definite part of that creative process at an and so Marcus to get back to that question.

You know when it comes to helping the homeless is if you had some got ideas there. Recently I decided to create something what I call and cures: your cut and manicured, and I will better shelter and it's just complementary your cut shall see that you can tell right, Sharon, Marcus, Donald, you guys are awesome. I appreciate so much to need to use you again. You can find out more about all three of please do kingdom pursue.com you can see, James Parker, Sharon Bryson and Marcus Brown their information their links to their websites.

There music file means check that out right now I'm just really really want to thank you for listening today for calling and sharing those ideas and you know if there's a lot of truth from an action so stay tune you got the masculine journey starts here now at 12 o'clock Satan symmetries to match
