Your host Robbie Gilmore last we are going to have on kingdom pursuits. I have a lot of gifts but interesting thing I I'm the only radio host I've ever known to put minds on my show and got away with it Scott. But today we have been.

He's a one-man volleyball team that is taken on like the Washington Redskins one-man. It is taken on high schools across the country. 6000 volleyball game, but something that you're in the hunt the Guinness Book of World Records for the most volleyball games ever played by human being.

It's actually more games in any sport that anybody's ever played, and 6 to 20,000 games and 60.

Like you said in 6000 gyms, so it's in the Ripley's believe it or not. Now I want to picture this for me. I just watched a video of him playing a team. I guess normal volleyball team of six people right and so verses one right or not. Talk about plan. You know people in our athletic or or talk about plan in a big time professional athletes and here's one man, but I will I will point out because I was wondering until actually thoughts he has one little advantage. He can volley to himself so you know what he gets three hits you know which. If you do that on but nonetheless when you watch it. It's it's actually outstanding. I one time Bob played a basketball game against the Dallas Cowboys. When I was a one-man team I we we had a pretty good basketball team and where to play the Dallas Cowboys at the time this was the Dallas Cowboys of Roger Staab accurately maximal guy and so Drew Pearson and these guys talk to tall Jones you know and and I'm a tall guy if you see me on 65 so I thought, well at least I'll be able to compete on now you can run as fast as you can possibly dream of running and somebody like a Drew Pearson will blow by you and then younger okay now I know why I didn't play professional anything because or to tall Jones I think was 67 or something like that and I thought well you know IBM to rebound him against not only is he that tall but he jumps out of the gym. I mean, you know, and I was like yeah there's no way that that this is and so when Bob I've hear that you play these kind of athletes because yeah I know volleyball may not be there sport, but these people. They are working unbelievably hard on that first step.

They can make a faster first step in almost any human being they can jump unbelievable amounts. And so for you to do that.

I'm thinking it's a God-given gift I always give him all the credit. Believe me because I'm plan for 40 to 50 games a week in mice last seven weeks I had 275 games, but there's been over 80,000 come to Christ since 9/11, which is been a miracle so you know the title of the show for years and years and how does God take your passion and use it to build the kingdom and so I don't know what God's gifted you, but I just want you to think about what God's doing here with peers man at a pot passion for volleyball way to you, happy here how he uses that gift for the kingdom, but speaking of that, we also have another guest with his friend Scott Saunders is with us today who is actually bringing Bob but Scott has a ministry called I love this parade grounds the welcome Scott, thank you. It's good to be a really appreciate you have a son so tell our listeners.

I know that Craig Brown sounds a lot like playgrounds, but it's playgrounds and what it tells about that was actually given to me and after I got a vision back in 2009 division clearly was some I got God. It was praying the prayer of Jabez for a while and long story short, the mission playgrounds is to put God's word in public to remind Americans our Christian heritage and to encourage a great increase of prayer in the body. The believers that was that was 19 years ago and since then God had given you some things to do and one of things that he keeps giving me things and one of the things that he gave me was over the last five years to come alongside his one-man volleyball guy and and to see him in action and to see how his blessing. Kids all over the country and it's it's a privilege for me because kids of today need hope they lost hope and that's why they're committing suicide.

I'm not a million kids in America every year, attempt suicide and its it's it's M.Div. lost hope that's what it comes down to. And so when when you see Bob do what he does.

The kids are cheering at the end that they can send them 100 emails per week. There lined up to thank him.

The testimonies are off the charts. It's amazing to see unless you see in person. You never could possibly believe what what he can how he can affect kids in today's schools. As you can see today's shower loaded for bear and you guys have to indulge me a minute because the people are regular listeners know what's coming that I'm in a have a riddle here that's complete prologue by my sense of humor, which some people don't find funny but my especially my wife that I think it's hilarious. And I left my own good. My own thought here years ago I was asked to do 100 interviews at the American Association of Christian counselors. I had to do in two days so I was interviewing counselor after counselor is a promotion for enough of that. And I prayed and God give me a question that you know that would because these things I gotta go fast tonight. You know, in the question he gave me was from second Corinthians chapter 1 that says you know along the lines of God comforts us with all comfort that we might comfort others with the comfort that he comforted us with. And so, in your own story is theirs suicide issue. Well, in my own story. I was out for six years doing evangelism and then I had a burden. How can I get to people that are going to go to hell and give them the answer away from that place and little did I ever dreamed that my bad back would lead to a chiropractor saying what you just work out. You just need to work out a supply volleyball and so I started playing people and then it turned into taken at the public schools.

Little did I dream will go to 6000 but it's been a blessing because I brought the name Christ back to our public schools, and so I didn't have a suicide in my own life or but I just saw the need to reach people with the gospel I find out more about how to play volleyball. It is amazing miracle that every time I get on the court. God is there with and everybody knows it's God doing this and you know when I when I heard you know that that all across America.

There's a national epidemic, a principal took me in front of the school and show me a cemetery of 15 gravestones of the kids. It died recently in his school so that my heart just broke.

Seeing this, and so all over the country on playing 4050 games a week. Not because I italic is not because of the game, but is because I want you to remember. I beat the odds and you can beat the odds. When you find out Christ was the Ansell one boy swallowed rat poison to cover the pain of being bullied and he said his veins hurt so bad from it, but the pain he got from swallowing the rat poison was nothing compared to the pain.

The bullies were causing and then he found out Christ took his pain and now he doesn't cover pain with pain anymore. So another boy hand literally in this smoke me on when I was going to kill myself, hang myself on my birthday a week after your assembly and he said I was actually going to do this and then on his birthday.

He wrote me an email and I read this to DC right in the Ways and Means room to 300 leaders in our country. They asked me what am I seeing in the 6000 schools. So I told them that all of these things and I read this email to them about a boy who Sue wrote me on his birthday when he was going to hang himself. Today I was going to end it all, but I asked Christ to save me. Instead, and when I read that I didn't know what Washington would say but they said were going to make you the premier speaker because you stand for Christ and these are the leaders of DC.

I don't know if there were no both sides there but they were they were all for it and they said we have got to give you permission to go to any school in America through the addiction policy for so it spoke to their hearts because of the gospel. Would love to be in your church for week do three public schools a day end up with a big rally so I would love to reach people in your area and Scott you are talking the break about what an academic suicide is that there's more people go ahead, tell yeah so so we were I was doing some research American foundation for suicide prevention and we talked about the 50 million kids in high school in America and over million.

No attempt suicide every year and you you when you when you when you break down that number. It comes down to about 2000 more than abortions are in this country which is factually's kids don't have it down I had to do that but 10 a day just to shut Mike of the County schools attempt suicide so most people don't. They're not aware of it or not, where these kids are at that point in time there was one. One gal who I just found out yesterday was valedictorian in a local high school down in in Charlotte and the two years into her college career. She successfully committed suicide and you think you know it's tough to be's kids nowadays, but it it's it's something that no church is well-equipped to come in and love on these kids.

And so that's that's were trying to do with that. With Bob's ministry and quite frankly I want to hug him for the Carolinas, so I may help. Harlan County what coming up Monday through Wednesdays at seven schools, middle schools and high schools that have invited him in to do his assemblies so he's got two or three a day. There's 460 losses and there's been groups that have brought me in full all nighters where I played from 9 o'clock in the evening till 58 and then the team at the very end wins and I wasn't happy for little I, limped out of there after playing all night, but certainly you know it's the losses don't bother me. I like competition and so people try to know if you want to see this and have a family event just come like you go to the Globetrotters to East row in high school 7 o'clock Wednesday night. Bring your whole family will be free pizza for everybody and you'll get to see me take on one of my game is going to be the whole audience. I had a thousand against me once and still beat them so bring out the bring out everybody and get on that court sitting you play the whole audience. Yes, that's pretty exciting. There was no place for the ball to drop so I just hit that thing in the crowd kinda look like a pinball game with the ball going throughout the ground and how did you set up you know I I can see how you got into the schools. But at some point in time how agenda play in the professional football teams and I can just a whole lot of different ways. It happens sort of like just people found out about it and then these pro guys like competition. They want to be the first Pro team to beat me. And so, so far none of them none of the Pro guys a bit, so I played the Dolphins the Orioles the Redskins the Vikings the Toronto Blue Jays the Buffalo Bills three times and I've played the end.

Either way, that was when they lost three games in the Super Bowl. I said this, like the Super Bowl game they will affect that I play the police and they they get out there and they try to beat me and I'll say to the crowd. You know they protect our community. They are to be paid more than Michael Jordan or Shakeel give him a standing ovation.

If you think somebody who risked their lives are to be paid more than somebody throwing a ball through the hoop. They all clap for the police and then I've even had some police handcuffed me during the game and I had to play like this the whole game with my hands cuffed and still beat them. That was funny and one so then I told the crowd if you had a speeding ticket you're cheering for me so I'm not sure if were going to have the police there Wednesday so East row and high school Wednesday at seven yes, that's not far from anywhere list is ready to come to Charlotte are you coming out to try and even Raleigh. It's not terribly far the people listening in Richmond today that might be a trip for them. Nonetheless, that's pretty cool so Scott, again you said that you know one of the things that God put him in your life and then you did you start reaching out to schools or how did that work well. This is a good guy thing you knew how can God work sometimes.

A lot of times it's got to go through multiple different, like the college no pinball machine ramming through relationships.

So this whole thing started when a friend a mutual friend of ours call me, they lived in New Hampshire the time and he said hey Scott got me this Bob Holmes guy he's and she told me to call him and he said that so we can be North County says Munro middle school set near you and I said will that's like 15 minutes away and says will come out. Wants me. So I go over there and outsiders is a nice ahead, and the whole school and all faculty outside on a field we play. The boy seems the girl seems the faculty were particularly competitive. By the way, and then he he gave his beat the odds. Talk to the kids have been transfixed in any then he shares personal testimony of Jesus Christ, and I knew the principal someone over to Mike and I said hey Mike, how can he do that and he just looked at me and discounts.

Molly said because he can so couple years later. This is this is how you know God's involvement as is I was at the airport in Phoenix going to Reno venerated board and not listen to my voicemails and I get a voicemail from Bob says hey Scott would be great for the superintendent Charlotte micro schools to hear me and see what I'm doing. I thought to myself.

Yeah that would be great maternal plus when I turned around and no joke 10 feet away was the current CMS board superintendent Heath Morrison and his daughter. So I laugh I met Mickey before I went over and I just just, so that you not complete this and so forth. He was very polite but first-class was boring and so he he got on the plane.

His daughter Leon and I looked at my ticket and what a God that got upgraded to first class. So I gonna suck I will that's that's nice and so I got out I walked down the island.

Fabiano row three so I said okay God I see a trend here and then I was and then couple years later I was I was at the Rob Rogers used as the Chick-fil-A is a community meeting with 30 business leaders and 30 CMS employees. I went there and I have met this gallon and she's she heads up the community development program for them and she said that they bring bring Bob into Vance high school/okay Sabrina Vance high school and he does his thing. The place boy seems a girl seems and again very competitive faculty team, and then he shares his program and then after the program again, now a 19-year-old senior comes comes out and says front suicide three times but I'm not in is more that's where will be more and more from you calling to say Jesus is a great trying to spread the word about what beating of his master service stump that we can beat Bob 866-348-7884 so much more, may hear his word about what the master servant 866-348-7884. I know I would love to hear that testimony and so how did Jesus come after Bob before volleyball.

I was so I started out as an evangelist, so I did six years and then I had a bad back and then I started doing public school assemblies and community rallies to reach people, but I got saved at the age of 15 and wanted to somehow get the gospel out to the world somehow knowing it's the answer. The way the truth and the life no man cometh to the father but by me. And that's that's a one answer. Now I love by phase. We can eat all kinds of stuff is your feeding the whole team when I go in the restaurant. I told the owner that you're feeding the whole team. One man team so but when it comes to what takes us to heaven. There is only one ingredient on the buffet and it's Christ. So I want to get that answer out. Little did I ever dream that God would use sports.

I hated sports growing up I was always the last one to be picked for a team and that's why play by myself is enough for us to play with but but it's it's and it's a word picture of going against like how Christ went against all the demons of hell, but he won the victory because he came out of the grave. So on the rally night.

The kids of her during the day that Jesus Christ is was my Savior. They clap they come to the evening to hear part two, but I every 30 seconds a teenagers trying to take his life as he got bullied on the Internet or at school. One girl saw her name on the wall.

Go home, swallow motor oil light a match to your throat is we don't want you at our school. While she got so depressed she went in her bedroom three months. Three months later she came back one girl said hi to her and she said that one word hi change my whole life.

One boy when in gate. They circled him and they would beat on them take turns beating him up and they pushed him down the stairs. They issued right on his wrist. He write the word I be brave on his wrist when he goes to school so it's literally like torture to some of these kids so then they come to the rally, and they hear that God of all creation.

I have a gospel track on the God of all creation got bullied for your sins by the Roman soldiers, so I go through the crown of thorns. The face beaten the back to me in the back beaten, the, the crucifixion, all of it, and they find out that Jesus Christ took their place on the cross and then a lot get saved because it really means a lot to them to know that hey they they may be called fat. When you think of the crown of thorns in the back beaten and everything they did to Christ. Even before he was crucified until all of his skin was just hanging ribbons and knees in agony for their sin.

And that's a lot more than being called fat, and they come to Christ. I have an average of 2 to 900 getting saved in every meeting now for 35 years and so it's been a real miracle so getting back to your testimony should ask any question now. That was the question is tell me about that experience with Jesus for you right at well I had grown up, you know, sort of in a religious way, but didn't hear the gospel play went to this Christian camp for the first time and it meant so much to me because I didn't know that that God was that could be a personal friend and the Savior. I thought it was just something that people didn't searching out. And then when I found out he could have a personal relationship with me. It was it really amazed me because knowing that he would forgive sin. So I received him as my Savior.

Then I went to Bible college and then I went into the ministry. From there, but but hearing this at the camp was just so what what what did you feel was there something in your life at that point time you felt like was keeping information up or what was it that that kinda convicted yet just realizing that that I couldn't save myself by my own goodness, but it had to be complete trust in what Christ did when he said it's finished. That means nothing else had to be added and so I came to the place where I realize it wasn't religion but it was it was him. It was in so you wanted other people have that relationship that you now you began. Obviously you felt called to Bible college, what, what was your expectation of that had no idea because I really didn't know what I would learn that that there was an amazing things I found out in the Scripture that fact.

I have a message now called if the Bible is a sword.

Why not stab with you is a lot of sermons will start with the verse and they might quote a few, but I use a lot of scripture because it if it's a sword like one lady she was witness to with this verse. He that hath the son hath life he that hath not the son hath not life, but the wrath of God abides on him. She kept saying oh I don't believe that I don't believe that 30 times and in this experience of a guy trying to lead her to the Lord. He used that verse. Well, he that hath the son Life he that hath not the son hath she. I don't believe that 30 times the 31st time she fell on her knees and the Holy Spirit kept stabbing her and and because she was stabbed by the Scripture, not by him trying to coerce or persuade her with human wisdom, but just quoting the sword.

So if the Bible is a sword. Why not stab with it so I heard the Scripture at this camp and it stab me and I realized what I needed and that was with Scripture. Well, there was a lot of scripture. I remember the one especially where where it says that he bare our sins in his own body on the tree and that really move my heart to think that he would do all that he did on the cross and that that come unto me all ye that labor heavy laden, I'll give you rest. So there's a lot of people not having rest. Why would they swallow rat poison so so I want I wanted them to know that they can have rest when they come to Christ as a get a new father and effect. I was in one school 80% of the students are raised by grandparents.

One girl was molested and 13 foster homes and she said I got saved I got forgiven by God, and she said I now have gone to every one of my child molesters and I've said I forgive you because God forgave me and I thought what one amazing guts it took for her to do that you can see what God is doing through Bob and you may want to say how can I support that. I live in Knoxville. Cancer came in from Tennessee and Scott D. How often do you get to get them here in North Carolina is much as I can about please add 200 games a year, and Hill Hill go even though school doesn't have budget money. In fact, the last year and 1/2 is an 8080 schools on his own and he P picks up because he puts on his home equity line that he believes so much and is his mission in reaching these kids that that this this is one most all, and guys I have ever come across some of his passion for children for teens for for families for them to know Christ has an and I want to thank you for this is the last chance. Yeah there's been a lot of people say that what you think how many 80,000 years since 9/11, tragedy 80,000 but I think of all the fruit of all the other kids that are obviously here about bullying and in some of may be Christians in the Boulder to share their faith in the fruit that is in us. He has Bob planted right there any Ascot planet as well as learned in you know what God is doing through this ministry as well, but things have changed a little bit and God does that.

He moves her cheese and wants well and schools don't have the budgets they once have some Bob now is in a situation where he could use some other monthly supporters and share a little bit about that.

Yes, I've wanted to read an email that I got from a student and you can actually see these emails on my on a website. I was planning my death a few nights ago, and prior to meeting you today.

I cut my wrist twice. However, I'm not the least bit ashamed a sale no longer self-mutilation. Because of this message.

I'm grateful you came to my school use of show me this hope in Christ and staying alive is worth it. I'm in there. There's tons of emails like this and that's it's brought tears to my eyes to see how you never know who you're influencing and but but the biggest hindrance that I have, yes, 80,000 of come to Christ. It's a miracle. But the support of the schools to pay me to come in has dropped and dwindled so much everywhere that I am praying and begging God for financial supporters and like you and asked me to share. That's why there is a need now. Think of it that I'm a missionary to public schools.

Having been to 6000 of them and would you agree when a principal tells me after I was in the school. It was a middle school and the whole school began to weep after I said that the word suicide and I didn't want happen in the principal come up and said do you know that just next door. We have a classroom where boys shot himself in the room is still full of blood. We haven't cleaned it up yet and that's why the whole school began to cry. So you just don't know what Hartig people are going through out there and but I have. I try to have a lot of fun in the beginning of the assembly. If I play the teachers all say no homework. If I beat them so there's a lot of need for them to have a lighthearted laughing time and then when I speak I get real serious and then they start crying and then they want to hear part two and they come back to the Thursday at the wetness case Wednesday night rally, which will be at East row in high school. You're all invited to see one guy play old team. In fact, I'll be playing the whole audience of the free pizza afterwards free admission and you can come to a East Rowand Wednesday night East row in high school at seven but there is a desperate need for support you and what we say and Scott that you're looking for thousand 20 share that yeah sure and so elite we look at it at that would buy was doing and he can only get in some new schools of 34,000 schools in America. So we try to get a thousand people in 20 $20 a month and that will allow us to raise up to Bob Junior sickly protégés that they can continue his legacy of going to public schools and quite honestly, we went to Hagen for the Carolinas so thousand people $20 a month and hundred days. That's that's comical. I love that Bob Junior because my father's name is Bob and Mike. You know I'm his son Robert for still more Junior so I was known as Bob Junior for many, many people know that in. I should mention I had a text from somebody listen to Christian card. I was talking about my father now under hospice care and they thought that he might at past concerns talk about him being praying like kind of incense and the printing that he is not a father is alive appreciate your prayers. I don't know how much longer we have not not much but at night I did want to share that. But when you said Bob Junior I thought it was one of the things I wanted what you know how you to raise up another he's got to teach some more volleyball people have how to do this and there's no reason for this not to be bigger because you know here in Forsyth County. From what I understand we have on the highest suicide rates in the country and when the name of the of the group that came in and did a concert here and they were telling me how how horrible that situation here is in Forsyth County and so we desperately need him in Forsyth County schools or maybe listen today and you have a connection to it like Scott right where you know the superintendent in Forsyth County schools and and another big way to support Bob is obviously to book Bob right right and you can go to beat Bob.com and show that to superintendents and principals and pastors because they bring me in and then we can have the gospel rally so we need we need the church behind it and then we can get in the school.

So if we find a couple churches that I work in our youth pastor and the youth pastor goes around and shows my video to the principles and will get set up really well. So if anybody knows any churches I may even ask you personally, afterwards it is a pastor or two we could get a hold of because it once a churches book then I go after the schools because if you do the schools without the church is just a motivational message but when you have a rally you can invite them to Lisbon 402,000 community people coming out here in my gospel message.

Every meeting time. I'm excited to come in Forsyth County. If your pastor or maybe you know of a pastor that you want to get without the discipleship. You know, without connection to the body.
