They love to bring Bibles to inmates CLI welcome Kathleen right morning beautiful, I hope it's beautiful and rich than the other places that are listed to us today is to get a flat here in Winston-Salem apparently must be you're in Raleigh this morning Caroline wonderful wonderful and so it is 25 years that you guys have been providing inmates Bibles and resources. Can you tell our listeners just a moment about what CLI is out now that we got there we knew the Lord wanted but what started out but in the wind and then guidelines in the president that started 25 years, the Kauai Bay and 1995 I came to the Lord a little later in life that you now I pray that Betty called me when he did, and that help I started reading Kristin Buckman Bible and and you know different versions of the Bible and translation rather and then thought would be great if other people had the advantage of faith but because they really help you understand who God is, in different subject I mean you and that with Kristin buck and you really have someone you as a mature Christian who hasn't really been walking with the Lord a long time and you know really have some great teaching down and that this going down the local wine family.

The book there and that's how it started and it grew from there and tell we had some extra bucks and we wonder what we were going to do with them and we thought well let's think the president can use them that we called prison chaplain and we started calling the prison chaplain and with like you have no idea what prayer you are because they don't have the resources to purchase Christian material that it was a great partnership that started right away that we were happy to provide the book.

Then we started camping our book and Bible all with our name and address and that way inmates could write to and that was eye-opening. We started getting letter from inmate talking about how the books were changing their lives how they were turning to the Lord and how he was really answering our prayers that restoring family relationship than just an amazing amazing testimony to that a great praise to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that in so that it didn't take long for us to realize that God was working in the present and we needed to join him full-time. So that's how we got into prison and we decided we were prison ministry, but it took us a little longer to change our name and I know Robbie that you know this, but we were Kristin library international and we just recently changed our name key CLI prison alliance to work clearly shows who we are and let people know that we are prison stray awesome. Truth Network is actually partnering with CLI prison alliance in the push for the next three months were to see we would looking for 25,000 Bibles, is that right working a hope tube to bring to the process. When you stand was that something that you have in mind when you put the address in their well wanted to block out what I wanted men and women. Now the Lord can the Lord make such a huge difference in my back and after a while we are wondering well I wonder what is happening to the book and start thanking you now really were missing praising the Lord with what he's doing with the book I not not like we me I need again craven thanksgiving to God for being say their war or learning something deeper about many many different ways that many different kinds topics that luck.

I'm wondering if you think back through some of those letters, the ones that just like oh my goodness, I just can't even what just blew my mind.

And while you're thinking about that I had a adjusted with. I've actually interviewed her true three times her name Shelley and she was a prostitute and also got involved in a lot of drugs because she was sort of a madam for this, but the ring of prostitution and shield of going to Turkey and she got involved with what was the largest drug deal ever busted in Turkey and so she ends up going to prison in Turkey like can you even imagine the three people in the household. Turkish prison that speak English now some missionary sees this and smuggles a Bible into her. She was like the Kathleen score so Shelley, she had a grandmother that had been praying for all these years. When she told me I never forgotten this interview she was like Robbie. I had never experienced any freedom in my life until I went to prison. All the sudden she found herself where she was no longer, you know, under the slavery of the men were taking advantage of her. She was no longer under slavery to drugs and so then she found herself knowing it in a place where I really need to understand what I'm doing in my life.

And here comes this Bibles. She does like you get saved radically phenomenally and you know a lot of people praying for his great story but the thing that blows my mind is that she takes the Bible that she's been given and she thinks I don't want to just know if I walk out of here. The thrown away some of the stuff down inside this mattress and maybe you know God can use. She will tell you that there were only two English-speaking inmates in the entire prison system. At the time, but four years later, she gets a call from this lady that says oh my goodness you don't know how you saved my life. I was asleep when I felt the slump in my mattress Bible, the second person was saying from the same Bible like oh my goodness, you know it's so would you think about what freedom we have in the United States to actually provide Bibles to people what God can do that, you know it's it's absolutely phenomenal work and get to her stories are amenable got Martin is in Raleigh this morning. I'm really impressed that you were able to determine that so easily in and is there and got experience in your own life with a prisoner that you've seen God do some well I electrician working so build up a door got to be a prisoner how they will know what happened after that. Well I got the like like you want to be imprisoned. A lot of difficult addictions drug that's probably likely course to kick the prison visit anybody right this very moment. Man oh man, if you want to have some fun. Go visit somebody you know in person. It's almost amazing to me how fun it is it's it's really fun thing about oh they absolutely are.

They love that kind of thing and so you know God put you hard to just go ask and you'll be amazed at how how easy it is to get involved. You know it's venting on the prison system in North Carolina. You have to be on an inmates list in order to be for them to have you as a visitor so you have to write in first and say can you put on your list and so it really made her so thankful to get a letter because it never did him that that'll be a huge thing and once he gets better you put China's list and away you go try it out. I would always rather your story about about what I tell a little bit about Kyle story because it combination of the Bible study Bible and how God work that anyway I was in and out of prison for many years. Problem and of course family falling apart. And then of course we read in back and we enrolled him in our Bible study, which started that doing the Bible daddy and growing in the Lord Corky given his life to the Lord and then he got one of the lesson on sharing your and he said that he really wanted out like he wanted to share with. First of all, and he had a problem because the sun wouldn't talk to. He wouldn't take it because he wouldn't come to visit him and so finally one day, Father's Day, and his mother taught and economy and father on Father's Day and so when you spend came on. He had a Bible, one of our Bible and felt he took his band. They fall Jesus cry using the Bible's name is often just fell into dad's arms and started crying and gave his life. The Lord, and we had an opportunity to talk to person and I think that I said what what made that desperate for you because you didn't glean anything your dad dad and he said I don't know what he was reading the verse.

I just knew it was the trade and I knew what he was staying for the first time. What was the trait that of course the trick of the Lord since the church your network right Grady had anyway so he found environment and with and he would say now Kyle is out anything out for quite a while now, and he started his own ministry he has great aftercare for many women. Well, not when it is strictly man when they get out of prison and that he has that ministry going and he's really helping change a lot alike that many people have come to the Lord through his testimony.

In fact, he joined our board last year we warned that China is that you know I think he had a great story of how he took advantage the ministry in not only that, the book of course, the Bible Bible study and God really helped him through each bath that during that story I oh my goodness, I just think about the prayers of the people.

In other words, are people that back there at that time that knew he was going to be sharing that he wanted to share Christ with his son and how impossible that sounds when you first say okay here's this guy in prison. The coarsest sons not want to hear anything from them and then you think. Of course you know but somebody at all these people had faith to pray especially you know the father. It's just it's just a phenomenal story and again you think about the impact that that we can have an eternity, like right now.

When I think about your ministry like you had to feel like this is a no-brainer. When I when I speak to the prison ministries that you know all these guys that are incarcerated in their own way are almost in a better place and some of the people that are in the high-rises that are in business offices. The people in the prison and old that they got a problem on and so they're hungry and so what a wonderful place. Like I said in the valley of humiliation that John Bunyan talked about children's progress 101 a wonderful place to sow seeds for Robbie because we get a lot of letters like that.

We have a lot of letters I think I thank God that I would prison because I had not been incarcerated. I would've never come to know the Lord Christ, and that there thank Baldy can you know that the last important thing in light of the Lord.

There's nothing out there is not thing I can compare with with knowing the Lord. If you have to go to prison. But then you come out or staying in back that you have the life-changing experience experience that Christ that that it that's what it's all about everything in these times as you mentioned, through the mail because right now we can go visit prisoners back like it was getting a lot a letter well letter by email from prison chaplains right now we know that trail back there like at I can't help that express our gratitude for your work because the inmate can't have visitors and there's no you know either. The kingdom that a quick story for another story of the Bible that an I know we don't have much time God did keep it really great distance. I chaplain had written this story and it was a young man and he was totally totally out of it on for and chaplain didn't know what he could do for him and the only thing he could think of and I'm gonna get on the Bible. Well, it one of our Bible and he just put the Bible in balance and laughed and then chaplain didn't have an opportunity to get back to the young man for I know we curtail because you know chaplains have so many people to minister to another reason our ministry works well went down because if somebody get a Bible or a bucket that hope and a way to the Lord anyway spell he came back and began manually defending bridal wire on and he said what chaplain you save my life to save my life and chaplain didn't know what he was talking about and that he kept saying that over and over and he kept showing him all the pictures that he had had all the Scriptures right now little pieces of paper on the bed and finally chaplains that wall like finger, like I don't understand any wall that you left me. I was able to read it really that this is what I needed and this is what I need to change my life. And then the chaplain said will why you have the Bible why you rush sure that you have on that and he said what chaplain oh my goodness yeah can you just picture that were going into that young man's heart you know given him hope, like well like it's just a beautiful time. I mean I am so excited about the opportunity we have to partner with y'all.
