This is the Truth Network kingdom versus where you hear from ordinary people instilled with an extraordinary passion together we explore the stories of men and women who take what they love and let God turn their passion into kingdom pursuits now live from how I did something different ways can write on the shelf. You weeks and you'll understand why that's exciting to me to be able to do on my anniversary. As we get into it so you know, for a number of weeks. I have a friend not many that know me know Jim Graham is from mescaline journey with me is one of the pastors and what's the name of the new church, Carolyn yeah we don't have any pastors but he's one of the leaders, elders at what's the church.

The way fellowship at the triad the way fellowship of the triad okay and so is a very good friend of mine and his wife Carolyn who you just heard his voice, her voice had suggested to me she said and I would love to hear Robbie's take on the song of Solomon from a man's perspective because I've been studying this Bible study called the kiss of peace, a contemporary explanation in Explorer exploration and the song of Solomon by Diane Virginia or Diane Virginia Cuneo and so she said, would you please please please interview Diane Lund on your show right yeah and so here we I'm thinking I don't know if I had asked her by then. So you see I had to ask her and I had taken a shed to make the connection. What you and so how fun that I have Diane here today and so we also have Carolyn you been in the midst of her study right for how long.

Well, it's a 12 week study and it started in May of last year mean this year and 12 weeks and it died roughly 3 months, as though you are not a deep dive with Diane and so Diane welcome. Thank you. It's so exciting to have you here and got put on your heart so the song of Solomon to you. I'm very very curious because most people know me know.

It is my favorite book so how did God connect you to the song of Solomon.

What touched your heart well I was doing a walk-through of the Bible and so I got to song of Solomon. I was asking the Lord to show me Jesus Christ and every book and so when I got to song Solomon.

I immediately saw Jesus but I was taken aback by the words, let him kiss me with the kisses of his lips, so I shut the back in order to finish my walk-through I needed.

I wanted to go straight through and so I went to prayer and I realize that's it is an allegory of Christ's love for the church. We know that the spiritual truth that's being explained their through just a natural marriage so but it goes beyond that the Lord's trying to show us their the deep, deep love that beloved Jesus has for us dive into that kiss and enjoy that in subtly different ways so Rachel, as you might imagine. Speaking of kiss, speaking is your job. Jim is to tell me who made this quote. So, speaking of kiss, any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply not giving the kids the attention it deserves, said that he's a singer never heard him sing no pretty minor song. I'm sure he saying entry thing.

Jesus love me. At least it's not who I was looking at was played God George Albert Einstein Georgia time. I don't think George is Albert. I like that you know know that you say yes okay you did your eyes and this person you can guess who this was Virginia chance or/Diane a chance to get it's all right for a perfect stranger to kiss your hand as long as it's perfect, who said that I don't know Rachel, he got the idea I have no idea. I think it'll make sense to you. It was May West. It's all right for perfect stranger to kiss her hand. As long as he's perfect and I do like this is anonymous comment figure out who set up with a smile is the second best thing you can do with your lips. I guess no one Jim okay I go from here.

We can actually get to the Bible with second McPherson may say this is Joey Adams. Never let a fool kiss you or a kiss for you.

I like that.

Never let a fool kiss you are a kiss full use so with that, here comes your Bible written love this.

This is a very open-ended question. I'm really looking forward to your answer and I know you probably thought about it that I would love to know what you think this is the idea is you sit and listen on the radio wants to think about. Why do you think Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss.

Why would that all be oppression in our hearts and heads forever. Judas betrayed along the eyes idea of never let a fool kiss your kiss for you. Why do you think Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss if you know the answer to that. Rachel tell about that when when we still have tickets available for the rental science Festival Renaissance Festival is going on in Charlotte.

We have eight tickets for you to enjoy their actually $39 value each. So knows what's 8×39 Jim Mark a lot to be pretty close to the threat of $40 or somewhat that time anyway.

Renaissance Festival. All you have to do is call and tell me what I really want to know anyways why do you think Jesus, Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss. 866348.

I know they requires you to think deeply but since when the song Solomon today, think deeply, 866348788486634 truth so interestingly I love love love what Diane was pointing out because if you go to the first verses in the song of Solomon right living with him kiss me with kisses of his mouth because what because his love is better than wine right and and and so no doubt being a man immediately had a very big struggle with adversity and you might even on the second Psalm he hits it again.

You know let you know I think the way it's if you know of, but the King kiss USC be angry how's it going Jim took Micah not the Bible scholar you think I life that is not just the sun, lest he be angry is actually a that's a second Psalm, and so interestingly right when she describes them in the fifth chapter and she goes into this as we talked about in Christian car guy right here is this unbelievable 10 things that that that you could just blow the daughters of Jerusalem's mind when she describes and tell him what she says.

Last of all, is his mouth is most sweet. Well, interestingly, that word translated sweet.

There, in Hebrew is actually the word taste right. So what that saying is his taste is unbelievably sweet is most sweet. Now the interesting thing about that is that apparently has a taste for Jim Graham on to say and scary and he is a taste for Carolyn and if you're listening, I'm guessing he has a taste for you right and and and therein lies something that is just absolutely spectacular because in that idea of taste has to do with union.

When you smell something right. Which song Solomon's all about smell. It's all about today's leaving of the smell something while it smelled pretty good.

Jim you experience that it is were coming to an anniversary it's all about the taste right back. Jesus, yes, 86 you're listening to Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com that I and Virginia and Carolyn and Jim Graham with her with her book the kiss. Diane's book the kiss of peace, a contemporary exploration into the song of Solomon.

The Bible study and at the end. The last segment you might've heard me mention that our riddle for today which I'm very excited and even though this Riddler may have the answer that you were thinking of.

I would love for you to come I would love to have more than one answer will come up with some from kingdom for his pursuit strike price vault from you, even though it looks like Jean is going to get the tickets. But why do you think Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss.

So Jean and Mount Holly, North Carolina. You're on the morning Gina we lost Gina Gina, is there Gina, can you hear me now to have your phone on speaker. Are you have the radio on in the background well put on hold and maybe you can adopt so we need Gina to call back.

As I was so excited to see what Gina had is an answer I would be excited what you're thinking.

Why do you think you Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss and so we left our hero.

I shall my woman in the song of Solomon. She was wanting him to kiss her with kisses of his mouth because his love is better than wine and so that was the entry point for you right. Like you, what is this and so the first chapter your book shockingly is the kiss and so take us into that a little bit.

Well, they are in the first couple lines you see so much, you see, even in the stage name. This is a stage is a play and I think God makes it that way so that we can experience it is something that I noticed you know if there's gonna be actors in a play that were supposed to experience it. So I write the book that way for said it, the reader could experience it, and you know Bible study portions also right there in that first line beloved Solomon. You see, that is Jesus right from that because he is more loving than our beloved Jesus and who has more peace than him. And Solomon comes from Salama which means peace. And then we also see the communion cup which for the Hebrew, that would be their marriage covenant-ish if the bride sipped from the cup, then she was saying yes to the proposal of marriage. So we see there the it's a wedding taking place now. I'm not awesome. And the word IN which is wine and you through. Is this really cool word that, by the way, if you love to song of Solomon. You can see very much the connection between IN and the word dove is very much connected and because the letter unit which is the first letter in wine and is also the first letter in the word dove hat has to do with this light that comes from God. And then there's this you hear that I you can hear that that's where that the unit is and then you hear them and sound, which that's the letter none and that has to do with the light of faith and so anything about communion just what you described right yes the wind because it is that number one we have faith in God, but bigger than that part that always blows my mind. Yes, faith in me will and and think that his love is right better than what wine gets better with age right is as our relationship gets better with age and there's so much imagery very right.

You could spend a day or two were all show just on, you know, that kiss and there's a choosing there. She has to choose to sip from the cup so you know we have to choose to have that communion with beloved Jesus and so much of your experience there because I don't think it's book. I consider this experience right in and so the way you experience it as a story is why Jesus taught in parables right people understand things in the format of the movie writer story I will know if you ever heard the side. I love that Rich Christiani was a movie producer, 141 and ease to go speak in churches that would get upset with because he was doing these movies and he would say, okay, how many of you remember what the pastor/lead teacher said last week, and of course nobody can raise their hand. They said okay.

How many people in the audience now with the dog in the Wizard of Oz's name is and the point is right that that we process things through story and that's how we get context of things and so that is no doubt why we have this unbelievable book that gives us the story that we can relate to and semi-different ways. We have Gina back which is very excited about that. So Gina, you are on kingdom pursuits good morning all will. I am so grateful you call back. I'm so sorry that I dropped your call, but why do you think Judas betrayed Jesus with the kiss of all things will will not bear that break and where all land are worth.

I mean just unthinkable in the thought occurs to me Gina that the last communions that Judas had with Jesus right this the last moment that he had been having some speak for that moment he was in Jesus's presence full and is a joy and he was actually connected to Jesus through his mouth and and from there it went downhill so unbelievable.

Thank you thank you thank you for calling in and for sharing that with you with this and I hope you enjoy the Renaissance Festival here. Thank you Gina bless you to.

We have Orlando is in High Point Orlando year on kingdom pursuits good morning Orlando, are you there with us. No Orlando dropped off because he was thinking that he would give away the prize, but nonetheless Orlando. If you want to call back. We would we would love love love for you to call in and and share and so in a moving on in the in this unbelievable exciting adventure bride. I am to know for me in on this the second to speak to the other thing you're talking about. That's to know is this book about Solomon is this book about Jesus. Okay so the second verse right.

It says right by name as anointment points poured forth, therefore the no virgins lovely running. It's about Jesus, but his stage name is beloved Solomon and the bride's name, which is us is love, which I love and it handles us love he does call us love and so when you say a name as anointment 443. Think about what Christ means you know that's Jesus's last name. Did you know that Carolyn Jesus Christ means the anointed right it it in or you might know Messiah means the same thing, the anointed one. Well, just wait a minute that's anointment poured forth.

Well, it must be Jesus right is pretty much describe there is his name is anointment 440.

He is the Christ, right and the in of the idea of that is. Interestingly, that the Jews when they have to write a Torah scroll, they have to capitalize Solomon's name only in the book. Song of Solomon.

Oh that's cool, or otherwise to get lashes right so there deal that you know that they knew they know.

Actually, they don't only know that this is Jesus didn't they know that this is the son of God, they know this is the Prince of peace that's described by Isaiah right, but they also know that he's that this is a book of what the Messiah is going to that is really cool because in our Bibles. It's not capitalized. And when I put this in play form for everybody. I did capitalize his name and just made a note to the reader that love and beloved Solomon is and I think it's okay. It's okay in Robbie's book as the RSV, the revised standard Robbie version of the standard version you could call it the song of Jesus all rise we see is the one he singing it by the way, and and working of find out how sweet his case is as we know, continue to to explore the book forever right because I don't think you cannot even begin to plumb the depths I like what Matthew Henry said about the book he said, this book is so deep the elephant could swim around in it.

Yeah it is. It's a life pursuit right and they get to the third verse, which also blows my mind right which says it's his draw Cimarron after the beginning of brought us into his chamber right we will be glad and rejoice in the and will remember thy love more than wine. Therefore, the upright love the right, Jim correct I was, hoping my wife would talk more but she's the thinker, and I'm the talker in the family, but the one of the plagues that sort of shock be eavesdropping on this 12 week program. I don't think I'm Ms. I think I might've missed one. But I was there for most of the sessions at our house was small, about the while I only participated once or twice I talk. A guy soliciting everything and I was rather surprised that the people quit because they say this is not about Jesus, and it is not about Jesus not only would it be that two people sitting here from God, the music between Robbie and Diane.

This went from bottom 15 because of a major prelude to my flock top 35 go back and have Orlando back in your listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com song of Solomon were talking about the of peace. Write a contemporary exploration into the song of Solomon Bible study that by the way, is it kingdom pursuits.com so you can go to kingdom pursuits.com and order this amazing Bible study and again, Virginia's contact information is all there at that website where you can you know hook up with her Bible studies that she's doing all the time. She would love for you to do that. But when we open the show. We talked about this kiss that that Judas gave Jesus and so we had several revelers on answer this, and I'm excited to hear their answers.

First off, we got Orlando.

I am a gentleman in Raleigh or could be a lady, just a moment so we Orlando you're on the kingdom pursuits component good morning Robbie how are you I am delighted and so excited you call I want to lick you a happy anniversary on the thought.

It is, and that what a fun time editing experienced this in my old friend you remember Orlando Jim. He came to boot camp, but it's time before last.

Maybe so is good to have you back so yet.

I'm going to do that in November you know I my brother's coming so I'm so excited that he's bringing his grandson, and so we ran are you really that exciting. So get a boot camp with Orlando and his friend will need to be praying about that, so Orlando, why do you think you Judas betrayed Jesus with a kiss where people feel be good if all prophesy. It was it was prototype Lincoln Psalm 41 somewhere in the out there, but it also had the brother died because he had a decree, you made it greedy or something like that with the Pericles in the temple to collect 30 silver coin and I was prophesy in Zechariah. I don't remember what David Secker I have something 1412 measure would, but is there and he had two that had to be brought me fulfill by him again so you got a Solheim carbide lab try this method minutes I met prophecy in Psalm 41. I know I'm 41, 941 painkiller on the admixture you may say my friends, well done, well done.

I'm to go check it out and I hope you are. Thank you Lynn.

I'm excited to see you in November. We will load bless you and will see each other will pray together hallelujah coming I know I know it's it's a good answer here so amazing. Thank you Linda God bless thank you Baile alright so we have a caller from Raleigh so caller from Raleigh you are on the kingdom pursuits good morning they'll collar know it will all yes thank you and I am having a really really happy anniversary.

I can tell you this is going to be our last wonderful eating there really is not going to Lord, how much from from my year a radio station relieving on all the things you can run equally out for my cat is a wonderful real man anyway. I anchored deal and I went let you know I met with the obviously Catholic personal no exhaling fairly with relationship bear of out log LI well I didn't get excellent but that's okay and want to get thing I think you got it you got it and I think there's some out as exact as you said it got sparked this in my mind I'm a bit that almost everybody that's hearing my voice has been betrayed by kiss and I can't picture myself and and you know if your list and you can raise your hand and say I'm I did this I went through this. So on my 16th birthday I was close to date a girl name Sue Austin as I had my father given me a new car for my birthday and I had my new cars outside drove up into her driveway to take Sue Trousdale was her name Sue Trousdale on this date, and as I went up the driveway making my best, my best friend Brian Young can which I can remember this day, all these names very clearly. They came out the driveway at exactly the same time as me and easily my best friend was my point guard on the basketball team all man and I said what are you doing here Brian and he said oh I'm here to take out Sue and I said no, you're not as she's going out with me is my birthday and she walks out the door and Jesse Shealy's room. It wasn't me that I and this is open the door for Tammy later on and that I was betrayed by kiss by two people that day and and and I think so that we know that Jesus can relate to that feeling is a lot so I will radio down Metz and I would think he know I am so grateful that you called and shared with me today and for listening.

It means so much to me you have an relate me are blessing the body of night alright so speaking of kiss. Carolyn's been waxing eloquent on kissing while we were during the break, and I know you don't want to miss this Sir Carolyn she's going to talk again, and she immediately frowned. What do you want me to the I want you to say what you said during the break. Go ahead find it again looking in the song of Solomon and the pension translation which is wonderful. It would be the only one I would use it certainly can be used as an adjunct when you're studying so what verse is sheet while she's getting up there and Diane and shall have it in the minute you know it's interesting to me that we have got past the first verse.

This exit is the second verse where it says so kind to your caresses.

I drink them in like the sweetest wine there is a word play in the Hebrew. Similar to upon the word for kisses and the word for take a drink of wine is nearly the same. The implication is seen by ancient expositors is that God's lovers will be drunk with love, the intoxicating kisses of his mouth. The Hebrew word for kiss is Meshack right which can also mean to equip or to armed for battle. We need his kisses to become equipped warriors for hand. Yes Brian, we exchange our weaknesses for his strength. All we have to do is come, come to him. He kisses us and that's our enablement right and so for those of you who may wonder why that that's the second verse. Well, the first verse of the song of songs, which is Solomon's is that very word is the song of songs, which is Solomon's is the first verse you could save the song of songs, which is the principal pieces that Ben and I will say it and then let him kiss me with kisses of his mouth so that's where were getting that the first verse is the description of the book and the second verse is what we've been discussing.

Thus far, but again I love and and to me so much of when I read through your study guide. It's about communion is higher adventure that you can go on this story.

This play Harvey on a put it it's it's it's it's a love story undoubtedly about love stories, is it it it is about communion and when you think about it in order to put on the full armor of God. There apparently the last word in that full armor of God is its of God right and and and so like you just said to be covered in his kisses is is to be armed right that's right. And so you know I hate were running up against so much for me to talk about what when I can be able to cover as much as I would like but II know so we can come back with one more segment engines that some he wants to say. We know that Diane's got something in Carolyn. Also, she's raising her hand so maybe you got something to say and you want to call in.

You can do that it 866-34-TRUTH 878841 more segment in the song of songs the kiss of peace is allocate receipts you're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com Diane. Virginia's book is on your author page with a guy in Virginia. The kiss of peace. The contemporary exploration into the song of Solomon, Bible study, which is the organic kingdom pursuits.com if you want to get her amazing book which is you know so much is that you can spend enough time here getting kisses with the kisses of his mouth so so much about that is about communion and so when you get to the second chapter to move on. You know all chapter in always taking me under his banqueting house, his banner over me is love right and then it says stay at me with flagons and comfort me with spreads of apples because I'm sick with love, so that word flagon again for you has everything to do with communion. Then yes. And so when you do communion right you you actually use flagons. Yes, it's we found these some reason cakes and it just me was very similar to what we see the flagon in the Bible so I use that II have in my program I have a little dish and I just put those reason cakes in there and break off a piece and is enabled me to very easily have communion every time I go to prayer, which you know reminds me of the sacrifice that the bridal price was his death on the cross to redeem us and it's just, you know, we need to remember him and thank him for the deep, deep sacrifice, he gave to redeem us right so how cool would that verse comes right before his left hand is under my hand in his right hand embraces me and so when you think about it the first says comfort me with flagons and stay me with spreads and battles Holy Spirit right in and it is really cool thing is I don't if you saw this before but I couldn't help but note that in the ancient times. This was what they literally did for sick people like if you're in the sickbed. This is what they're gonna do that and bring you flagons and spreads of apples while if you remember back in the third verse where it says you know I sat then under he was an apple tree among the trees of the what. I sat down under his shed was completely delighted his fruit was sweet to my taste once again were coming back to the idea of this kiss this communion, but this time were eating from the tree right and and and when you think about the idea of what tree means as far as bringing righteousness in the Bible and the idea that all these things that the sacrifices were done on wood right they had the Birnamwood in the idea that the ark was made out of wood and the idea that obviously Jesus would be hung on the cross is here right, you're literally taking a bite to an extent of what is of of the fruit event of a tree, you know, unlike you know some of the other things like the wine that I just can't take so you know that it and so you have there with the flagons and the apples and when you take communion, but for you Carolyn.

Those that communion when you did the Bible study was a big huge deal, right yet was in the second chapter and they told you to each element. She didn't do private communion so you know I had my Welches and looked around the kitchen with him again to use for for the body and get this look at that know that's not going to do that in any good crackers so had a box of cereal and was at Apple jacks. No all men some kind of play is even better. I did you know that the almond in a very cool is the first thing that fruits in that buds in Israel and so the almond branch is always a picture of Christ's leadership because it was errands but Darren staff was rather but it it's in the ark of the covenant, and so in almond and another way to eat of Christ. Try as though you had that you had an almond.

Yet the Romans in the cereal that I took out a flaking and that's what I used a bagel flight and tasted sweet and I thought for so long. I have thought, what we use for communion does not taste good and I thought the body of Christ with taste and and so you know that's a big big part of you know and do this in remembrance of me right is what he said when you take communion and you're actually when you're eating him. I just like with anything. Your each are not united with it and and once again your armored up right right, it suggests that's right. And so, how fun you get to do these Bible studies with all these wonderful disciples who were present interested this in the Jesus's feet as Martha excuse me Mary. I'm not doing that studies we trained weep and training up leaders to do the studies because I wanted to make sure I could do this in a way that they glorify Jesus and not one person and it's really that blossomed and has yet again the name of it is the kiss of peace contemporary exploration in the song of Solomon. It's a Bible study leaders guide is what actually is when you look at it and so while maybe God is calling you to lead such a study. I am the know you can get a ton information besides the book Robbie's podcast anyway. We love this stuff and we love you for listening and was so grateful for all this. Thank you, Diane, Carolyn and Jim find out all about this. All I know now. Right now this is the Truth Network
