One is Dr. Brittany Spade is an emergency room doctor that asked to join us by phone help explain how beneficial the corporate coronavirus vaccine is for most people. Also in the studio is her burns and Jack Bales who have set up a very successful podcast. Three men for the and Michael Owens, who oversees the discussion lunch group that Herb Jack and I and many others enjoy gathering each week to discuss current events welcome gentlemen, thanks Milton thank you for to be here.

Let's start with Dr. speed. Speed is a friend who works in two different emergency rooms and is been in the front line against coronavirus and she's extremely bright and articulate. I wanted her to make her case for everybody or most people getting the covert vaccine dock. If you had a chance to educate North Carolina in the covert vaccine.

What would you like us to not think the other morning and am happy to get in and enlighten everybody in politically charged income that may help that I can break it down a little bit back to the fundamentals on what we really should be focusing on it comes to our protection from a health standpoint and say I love my God, I do work emergency room and we eat every day and a lot of people at the price that it actually back up in North Carolina and the numbers are getting higher each day.

Don't affect a lot of people, but hopefully we can get it in the rep in rather than later on anything that I wanted to think about today. I think I just break it down to basics of what it is acting in what is an mRNA vaccine and how to help with this particular virus and kind of things that people are hesitant about why it seems scary to them and remind them that you know you can make a decision, but make an educated one and one is when all the rest personally about having relied on social media friends there went whatever it might be to make that decision for you are still in charge of the unsurprising effect the mRNA vaccine is very feared the word mRNA vaccine is new to people. We've been getting vaccinated for years we vaccine our children we vaccinate as adults. For good reason. To protect against a lot of disease processes that were deadly or cause a lot of harm something people never heard about because we are lucky enough to live in a world where polio and hepatitis B Rebel measles protected area smallpox which was eradicated with the vaccine are all something they're not familiar, and I was very thankful he actually though vaccine science is been around for quite some time. Dr. Creek Hungarian biochemist. He was actually working on mRNA vaccines in the 1993 Wiseman was immunologist that she happened to get up but and through the early 2000. They were able to really nail down and master the client.

It took years for them to get the funding that they needed to get the grant approvals that they needed in order to really successfully had the capability to provide functional vaccine. The next thing. There have been others that had been published on mRNA vaccination. Though I don't remember if you guys recall bars but they did start working on mRNA vaccine for that.

But luckily it dictated before we needed is that, though, when you do research and provide vaccinations for people unless you work in a research environment are your in a Seinfeld you don't know how much goes into that funding approval. Any participant and for once the whole world wanted something and so the funding was there participant volunteered the doctors across the country volunteered for the early trials in order to get the vaccines. Make sure it was safe before distribution to the general public and they took the time to do what they had to do to make sure it was safe, but they had all the other red tape removed which allow them to produce the vaccine edit exemplary rate and that scares people.

And I get it, you know, if you asked me about cars and mechanics and that things are going to car and told me there are some fancy new brake pad I could use my card would be even better left it on I would know anything about it. Now I just have to trust them because I don't know anything about it is natural to have fear about things you don't know about so the mRNA vaccine itself has been in steady and they did take time to produce the science and could test it before it was given to the public and that kind of a little background on how that was done so quickly because that is one of the spheres I've heard from people you know always make you fat. But there's a reason that is able to be made at that speed and likely pray for health and safety of our family. I'm sure they spent the night praying to give them the ability to produce something helpful for the world on next. So as far as mRNA vaccine goes, if you know me know I like analogies and funny little stories, so bear with me, but to break it down the science of an mRNA. The theme is an mRNA which is a type of DNA product but it's messenger RNA, DNA, live in our nucleus of a stealthy think of a peach have the pit of the peach. You can consider that the nucleus where all your DNA is stored around the peach of the fleshy substance which we would call cytoplasm and a scientific spell in the flesh of the peach of the cytoplasm is where the mRNA that able to do its job. It does not ever get into the nucleus of the DNA of the rumor that it becomes part of your DNA is not really true. The mRNA allows the body to make a copy of the protein in a protein is what we recognize viruses by all of the vaccines that you mostly know about. For example, the flu vaccine. They introduced the vaccine to your body. Your body looks at it, almost as if the body is introduced to a most wanted poster and at most wanted poster is the flu or coven incident mRNA is your body does use it to make a copy of the protein not the virus itself, but the protein that holds the virus and because your body now recognizes or has that protein to look at. It has the most wanted poster for COBIT. So when you get coded or introduced into your body.

Your body understands. Hey, I know that guy saw him my body recognize that now it's not a good day, the mountain immune response to fight him off, which helps prevent people from getting severe sickness with COBIT and so the basic mRNA vaccine is talking about a recognized coded so that if you're exposed, but it can mountain immune response before a full systemic infection even occurs and you write what you said earlier, if you do happen to get coded because the vaccine is not 100% effective. I don't think anybody ever claimed to be, but we do know that it prevents severe disease and there are exceptions, but for the most part. If you get coded and you have been vaccinated. Your symptoms are mild. Sometimes none and those that are immunocompromised or have other issues going on.

Yes, they may also still get severe disease but for the most common folks in claimant. It's better to have no symptoms are mild symptoms. If you do contrast so vaccination think one thing that I found kind of novelistic 96% or so of physicians in the United States are vaccinated. I think that's important to note because we weren't forced to get we have read the science we done the research and unless you are in science and you're in your field.

Like I said it's hard to get that knowledge hard to understand where the science comes from the frost for a lot of us it was a no-brainer. We work in it we see we see how detrimental it is the regret on people's faces when they are told that they have it sadness. I diagnosed the other day just got here. You feel helpless and look at that point because the name ask you what can I do with the treatment what what can Hensley make sure I don't get sick or pass away, and at this point as far as any FDA approved treatment. I don't know of any off-the-cuff, but I know there's emergency release monoclonal antibodies and other treatment options that people are doing and it surprises me that when they do get coded a Wonka stuff they want everything they can get an the treatments are about is that it is not less studied than the actual best belts. He's a friend of known for many years but I suppose if I had to choose a favorite. We had many years ago, Sen. Mike Lee from the great state of Utah, who was in North Carolina basically traveling the state with another North Carolina candidate for U.S. Senate and Mike Lee was here to promote that North Carolina candidate and of the two of them came to our our lunch and it was the largest crowd we've had in that room.

I think ever probably 75 or 80 people and I don't think the room is designed to hold more than 50 or so, maybe 60, so was standing room only, and it was great similarly wasn't there for long. But he made quite an impression. A lot of people and and that would probably be one of the highlights of of all the years that I've been involved with this with this weekly lunch. We appreciate what you do us up in the rear end up sure to make sure you got folks coming in every week, but to the folks that regularly come and sit down and eat with you sometimes sure their thoughts and the meeting is Herman Jack. They have a wonderful podcast, three men, for they do remember that correctly is correct.

Back when I was a teenager actually and I have the notion to be a broadcaster, I applied for a position that Columbia school of broadcasting did not make it, but I've kept the interest ever since. So as time as many years went by, I began to hear of individuals who were doing their own pod casts, which goes back to the Apple iPod which I have one of those and Apple made availability through the Internet away for people to record their thoughts. Guests and put them out there, primarily on the Internet so that's how that part got started I want to do for number of years because I lived most of my life in Florida, but I now live in North Carolina so when I came here. I really felt the Holy Spirit moving go in this direction, but I didn't want to do it alone, so I prayed and I asked the Lord for some guidance and he should be two fellows recently her burns and he sent me, Ellen Brown, both of which attend the Calvary Baptist Church were I go and they what I presented to them. They prayed about it and we decided that was something we were going to do.

So we bought a microphone and we set about one about recording interviews with various guests.

Mike, how long you been doing the lunch will I've been an attendee of lunch for several years on a six or eight years, but it's I've been sort of leading the group for a little over a year now.

The previous lady who was heading the group each week left the state and because I was helping her each week. She asked if I would want to continue it and I said I would be happy to do it not been doing that for little over unit. If I'm not mistaken, there must be five or six people that decided to become precinct chairman because the group and you've really made a big impact on Noah my life in a number of other people that don't open our eyes and encourage us to get more active, yet we we we are not an official Republican Party meeting many years ago. It was, it hasn't been for several years.

We were just a group of of of people who care about the community and care about the country and and and want to do what we can to make our country and our city and our county a better place and and been fortunate to have a lot of people who come in and and decided to take a more active role in local politics.

We've been very fortunate with Jack so to give us a rundown of some of your guests or at least some of your primarily your interviewing bugs.

One of the people that we were very pleased and happy to get our very first guest was actually a broadcaster himself.

He is a nationally broadcast radio show is a CL bright CL Brian happen to come to town just at the time that we were beginning our podcasts so I made contact with through an associate friend and we were very fortunate and able to get him as our very first guest we've had a Rafael Cruz who is the father of Sen. Ted Cruz, we have the activist mommy Elizabeth Johnston, who at the salt like conference two years ago just blew me away. We had some great speakers there.

That year, everybody was really good, but she just so impressed me with her presentation.

So we been able to get her and we had a number of local pastors missionary well. I wish I seven. It sounds like you really enjoyed getting your podcasts on looking forward to listening a lot more than once that I hadn't got yet is telling us like that just that.

How did you go from that to where your writing books on your relationship with Christ and helping people get more tuned into our Savior was a great question, Bill never thought I would offer educator for almost 40 years teaching at the college level and you know college professors and instructors try to build her credentials up so I was trying to do this all is working really hard. One year I had to get the president's approval on this thing. I was trying to achieve my supervisor's approval.

I failed the first year. While I'm a competitor so the second year I went to the same process again. The president had to endorse me. I had to go back to prison again say when you do this again, I failed the second year I really got frustrated not remembering the office. I just swam up hands on the desk's gotta give up if it's not your will and will not be done in that moment I said what can I do for you to quit saying what can you do for me. What can I do for you in the response I got back was user talents to spread my word and my response was well I'm a Christian. I go to church I've read in the Bible but you know, I've never read your Bible from beginning to end, so Route 66 is my journey from Genesis to Revelation and for each book of the Bible finish reading that book of the Bible. I did a digital painting history that book and how you apply them in the world today so that was my response to finish the book said okay what's next. He said don't you understand, never stop.

So that's how the title of my other two books came about and never stop series to help people find your book.

It was made very clear that nobody cared what party you were whether you are affiliated with any party, or are not, but that there was going to be a conservative slant to the meeting as a whole.

Yet I know that I've enjoyed being a part of the group that I know not only precinct chairman but we've had a lot of other people that ended up becoming election judges and getting interested in trying to direct our elected officials to remember what they campaigned in to begin with, but share a little bit about the group with the audience.

So it really started. Probably 10 to 12 years ago and it was it was a Republican Party sponsored weekly luncheon and the MC of the week was all was was either the current chairman of the county party or the vice chair of the county party and it went that way for a few years and then for one reason or another they stopped hosting the meeting and one of the regular attendees. A very nice lady said that she wanted to keep it going. What party wanted to be involved or not and she renamed the conservative lunch. She took the party out of and that's the way it's been ever since and she she headed the meeting for a few years and then she had to step away and and another lady stepped in and took over and I helped her a little bit with that for two or three years and then when she left she asked if I would continue. I said I would love to.

So we are not we are not a Republican lunch though just about everyone in the room is probably a Republican but we already conservative minded group and anyone is welcome to join us on any Monday as long as you come into the room with an open mind and and a willing to be respectful of people who may have different ideas from you as long as you can come in with respect an open mind.

I do teach a Bible Fellowship class over a Calvary Baptist Church and was glad to be able to get him to come over for breakfast and he got us all fired up about being a Christian. Being involved in government. That's one thing I want to say about the conservative club. I'm so glad that there is something like that that you can go to. It's one thing to talk to your family and friends but it's another when you come into a group of people you don't even know and you get a chance to bounce ideas off of them. Be encouraged. That was the motivation for me and it also encourage me to get involved as a precinct chairman and as a chief judge here in Forsyth County. So I would encourage anyone you want. If you're particular if you're frustrated about the way things are going. It's always good to be able to sit down and talk with some folks who are going to listen to you to be a chance to talk and bounce my light ideas off of. It's been very helpful for me and we had a collar calling on and I just didn't get to it fast enough.

I've got a devotional message from him so response you is there's many paths that you can you can choose and find one that you're comfortable with and that will lead you in the direction and I want you to go and all the steer, but I would think that you needed what submit stand. If you going to do podcasts so you could start by rusted out what you concepts are then figure out whether it's easier to go one way or the other if I could add one thing to that there are number of podcasts that I listen to everyone every day really. And I've noticed that a number of pod casters have already written the book or they're in the process of writing a book and a kind of put their podcasts toward whatever direction that your book is going to so you can do it. Whatever way that the Lord lead you, but I've noticed that there were a number of people who write the books based on their podcast.

I thought he hit everything right on the head, probably because that's pretty much the way I feel and so that's easy for me to say, but I enjoyed that when the second most and then the third most would be Elizabeth Johnston.

The activist mommy what an amazing lady she is. I believe she has five or six children and the oldest one is like 13 or 14 so she's a very busy lady and yet she finds time to write books and to broadcast and to be at events like salt light, so she's got an amazing story.
