Hey this is Mike Swick from if not for God podcast our show stories of hopelessness turned in a hope your chosen Truth Network podcast is starting in just seconds. Enjoy it, share it, but most of all, thank you for listening and for choosing The Truth Podcast Network. This is good Truth Network kingdom pursuits here from ordinary people instilled with an extraordinary passion together we explore the stories of men and women who take what they love and let God turn their passion into the kingdom pursuits now live from the truth. Your host Robbie Gilmore narrow web content kingdom. Since then.

Now this is arriving at my case, then tell my name is an all-time guesthouse for Robbie today. He's on a well deserved vacation. I'm part of Robbie's show the Christian car guy 19 2015 Robbie knew I had been over 200 episodes on adventures in Odyssey and we talked about doing radio theater. Robbie just went for us in 2015 and did the first Christian car guy theater show by himself in 2015, I was on the second shell and since then we gathered a most wonderful in all volunteer all volunteer talented team of actors and it has been so much fun and Christian car guy theater don't despise the day.

A small beginnings than anything any of us to feel called by the Lord to do it, you know. But isn't it amazing that the Lord can be with each one of us and our individual dreams and pursuits. All of the same to you last year.

The Lord gave me the word ubiquitous in the middle of the night.

I had to look it up it means everywhere at the same time. Wow, God is everywhere at the same time, wholly goosebumps. I mean how does he do that one of the mighty God we serve. We make our plans but God orders our steps and it's so good to know that he is with us 100% with I was baptized.

He told me three times ever to be with you always, and he has been and he always will be insane with you who have in your heart step-by-step.

He leads us. That's what I'm really talking about my with my guests today at after the first break we could have Brad Silverman from A Studios and Martin Bennett, the author of wounded Tiger that God orders our steps in our stops.

That's what I want to talk about of God has called you to it. He'll help you do it doesn't doesn't mean it's going to be easy where he guides, he provides my old pastor Lloyd Ogilvie used to say, it pays to obey by faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance and in Deuteronomy 3212 so the Lord alone led him and Isaiah 4817 I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to profit who leads you by the way you should go.

So we take the next step as God leads and we don't lean to our own understanding. At times, have you noticed that we put on the armor of God, the enemy will try every way to distract and destroy. I like this quote I heard so sorry we fear the sneer of our peers in this quote, you gotta find out what ain't before you find out what is it's a process and a circuitous route at times.

You now have you noticed that I love pithy sayings I love pithy sayings and if you are confused.

Think how the enemy feels he doesn't have all the answers but in all that we got there we tried to be obedient and hold tight to Jesus. We know that God is working it all for good. He's teaching us all the time. Hebrews 1211. I love this one.

The chastening and instruction of the Lord for the president is in joyful, but sorrowful notice that the instruction, but it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who are what exercised thereby.

I think God is exercising his flabby bride. And as we struggle to obey God. We simply do the next thing as Elizabeth Elliott said she also had this quote that I just love I adapt myself to the Kings appointment.

Sometimes we just want to give up.

Have you felt that way. That's why we must seriously seek God as never before.

Get his more marching orders, especially in these crazy times and daily remind ourselves that God specializes in the impossible. People say what are the odds when something amazing happens.

You know what I say.

I said what are the odds God's odds. He specializes in the impossible. JD Greer said we believe the inexplicable. When we see the undeniable.

He waits until it is impossible and that he stuns us with his impossible feats and victories will be just like Joshua and Jericho and Guinea. Such unlikely heroes. That makes me feel good as a shepherd boy named David a slave named Joseph.

God promises Abraham a son in 25 years. When Sarah you know 25 years later she's 90 Abraham's hundred and Sarah gets pregnant, while not to mention a baby born in a manger, a deity in a filthy manger who came to save the world, whosoever would believe in him, he assaults our prideful intellect. Does any I just he amazes me more and more the bear with me a little longer. As I shared just a bit about my life because I am seriously a walking talking miracle to encourage you when I was a kid, I was an Air Force brat.

I was so shy was so insecure the other kids called me daddy for eyes fatty for eyes my sixth-grade teacher, God blessed Mr. Brown had me read out loud to the class and I discovered I had a gift they still call me fatty for eyes but I had dreams of being an actress and when I was alone in our house. I would sing along with the musicals and records in those days I imagine myself doing all those parts. My mother and I had fights about my ambitions I don't want to hear the word actress again. She would yell and I'd yell back, but she was just trying to protect her fatty for I kid. Of course, but the irony is, she became my biggest fan because when I played all the roles I dreamt of playing in my living room. I played Anna and the King and I and Marion and the music Manna Maria and the son is he that was back in the 60s, 70s, 80s and and as I took one step at a time and after college went to Japan in 1966 and my parents. My dad was head of Kent obeys commands I sang for Prince and Princess Hitachi in Japan. I did a musical show Tokyo Hilton Hong Kong Hilton radio theater was in what became cult classic movie. Don't look at it but anyways call the green slime Robert Horton Richard Pelosi, you know, I mean Richard Jacqueline Louisiana Posey but anyway funny that is become this cult classic. All these years later, but I love Japan. I even climbed Mount Fuji, and even back then God started giving me parables about life. Jesus constantly is parables to express his truth and climbing Mount Fuji was an adventure but the higher one on the mountain, the harder it got excruciating, but we we finally got to the top and I shivered and sipped hot green tea and the crevasse of a rock and we were and of the glorious sunrise. It was worth it all the sunrise and so it is folks with our pilgrimage. One day it will be worth it all.

It was a parable from the Lord.

The higher we go on God's mountain, the harder it gets. But it will be worth it all at the top for the SON rise. Japan is so special to me but little did I know that the Lord is preparing me for a little amazing book that I read in 2001, about a true Japanese-American supernatural God glorifying autobiographical love stray by pension so that I would have an award-winning screenplay over these 20 years for the book and ever closer to the film, but after Japan I went back to the states did theater had this amazing career. Pretty good for fatty for eyes.

Let me try to read what little time I have a divine freefall very fast.

I look back to the times God the company going to follow him over the years. He told me to go when I did nowhere and I gingerly plowed to my fears was Alice in Wonderland venturing out. I couldn't resist his clear call but I thought off the dances.

I jumped off the edge and breathlessly plunged into divine faith. All I felt elation and terror conspire relentlessly plaguing my mind. I groped for the lights in Scripture hope flailing something concrete I could find.

I finally landed landed to my delight, only Papa had kept me from harm. I remembered once more that in spite of the floor underneath is comforting on the adventure continues, gets even more challenging, trusting the promises made that how much will he mystically said no to him.

We are learning to simply do it. Ray Bethune 17 you're listening to TruthNetwork.com to further his and I want to finally and it is my guess. All sorry Brad Silverman and Robbie actually interviewed Brad and Paul along a few weeks ago, but when I heard them. I was so impressed even more than what they're doing by the fact that they love the Lord, that they are true blue brothers in Christ and they had actions that I fit look at is a ministry they doing God approved product film projects and everything out of their amazing studio, a Studios of 15,000 square-foot full-service production facility in Burbank. My old stomping grounds. They used to live on Cedar Avenue but anyway this is so amazing what they're doing and more amazing to me was the fact that they have A Studios, but they're also expanding to to have a Christian film finishing fund to help with Christian films and the finishing aspect of their other projects, so sorry, just it was just such an amazing thing to listen to them and I want to introduce posthaste Brad Silverman. He's just an amazing man of God and his to his credits include two films written and directed for Lions gate which one of which Grace unplugged was named best faith and family film in 2013 by movie guide Focus on the Family and the dev foundation. Brad is also the recipient of movie guides epiphany award given to those responsible for the best, wholesome, uplifting and inspiring movies and television programs. Most recently, Brad wrote and directed writing directorial feature film venture and all that selfie dad when a comic get serious about the Bible with Michael Junior and I love Michael Junior is a native LA still makes his home in Southern California along with his bride and therefore children and Brad are you there and get to be with all it's gone.

So glad to have you with me is too bad Paul could make a but so glad you could and were talking about how God orders our steps in our stops. I bet you're familiar that will, we are all yeah you know what will you grant now while when they come calling you that you are agreeing to beauty.everything you his own open-heart surgery… The way you not alone.

They're good for him. I love that there are priorities cool well sealed thing and we make our plans but as you know, God orders our steps and I heard that old saying if you want to make God laugh, telomere plans, right know no doubt vulnerable many many many years that you were Hollywood are paying at the right time. Arkady really work together on but way back to the 90 late 90 radically changed in in in our case be the largest battle with our perspective directing our steps with gender art in terms of her desire.

Yeah, look at you do this anymore right or more of the grout. There were a lot of really getting late. No gripe and there were at least on my I did do this type of work anymore and neither have to quit melt will be yeah but that brought the got directing it more expressly honoring them when God becomes more real and bigger than than what my doing that stuff.

That process is in a domain where I have never been so convicted as I am now to see God as never before. As this world is, fallen apart and still having the courage to do projects that you know it won't be easy but you have to do it.

I liked what I think Paul and said are you and send before was that I think Paul said when he went into the studio 15,000 ft.˛ and that is a lot to manage but anyway he wanted to just get rich now he wants to get rich in God I love that I let see you guys you don't know if you don't know how I have been in a 20 years trying to do hearts desire those quick Japanese-American film beautiful love stray but the point is you know I've been to countless Christian media conferences and so on Bob Loblaw and people I've met and everything but I meant for you to obviously what you did an interview with Robbie for you to obviously just has such a passion for the Lord and and enough and I will love to dissect those three years that you spent.

You know with with you know just scriptures and and and inspiring each other and praying that fancy that they prayed so sometimes it is hard to connect the dots of you noticed that when were you over. Following the Lord. It's like we don't mean to our understanding of, and I know that you are trying to find your way to you are ministering and still are, where all in Christ that but you are a natural minister in and doing other things and Then Suddenly He Became Ave., Eve I'm in selfie dad is. It is the year is that your directorial debut and you wrote it to do was tell us about this that yeah…. My poor teacher is the writer written and directed both are never done one written in direct writing, directing my own work together or teacher. Yeah, what about me very hungry. You really look like in my life where evaluating where I what my heart and with the beautiful thing and that you like an average guy like me think that I'm struggling with that I'm working through at this stage in my life. I figure maybe other people are struggling, they might relate well so I come from a common background primarily for the characters not autobiographical and you are not right and conjure dad back together.fallen off the deep end everything but leave the cell. Against English struggle daily all that get your point, Michael Junior comes on board play the lead and magic so funny and bought more than funny to minister to the right, though he's the son he is serious median.

I mean you really should know in everything you think it really charming character. Oh my gosh. Isn't it amazing when God takes your efforts and then he and then the fruit that emerges from that, you know I just I can't wait to order it to tell it. I can you order the minute DVD because I'm still in the DVDs earlier years on Father's Day when you go but it was a little code yeah sure the Lord more directly redirected back down in all you get right can definitely guarantee even folks out there selfie dad and that's the title of the whole film but a minute do you add the next part two. Well yeah DVD when the, what a comic. The Bible right.

Basically what former comic favorable idea right behind it like right back into comedy. In any government in the world today. Social media for you would be old. We didn't need any of you happen to work in that brought you like it so that their in life Robbie Michael so brilliantly funny yes video to go viral are now a matter of life and what you know what happening and maybe some of it can relate to what happened when you have a vocational desire and you work really hard for get your will not bad, right and then your hearing like the heart of the film will never find that action in their thing because God never got inspection there. And yes, though the book the heartbeat revealed a little bit of clever story, but part of the note.

Where can you find attainable joy every human being. What we all want, we might think differently, but I don't I get what I really want to I want to be like that my life goal. Everyone what document the problem in relationship with money payment out whatever and you can get it for like cotton goes away. Yeah heartbeat. Where can you find attainable in Funny movie with Michael another great shot appears you may know, even it is well trailing people 20 people in funny thing with the ability to make it serious to and I love her. I remember Michael doing alignment. You know my son said he wanted to be a.Dr. and Dave is yeah and then he said, or a dinosaur ever did wasn't as though the letter that he is just is just brilliant. That way I can't wait. I cannot seriously wait to see but I'm so proud of you. If I may just be so bold as to say that just for so many reasons. When I try to tell unsaved friends of all this is fading. It's only Jesus now. Hang in there folks were coming back Brad Silverman TruthNetwork.com God. Your passion uses it to further his kingdom, and I want to tell you about my wonderful gas Brad Silverman of The studios and Martin Benedetto beyond a little while but also we want to hear from Amy combo because her show is on and in and at 130 right Amy from beautiful Miami yet what is and I heard your show today which we can all kind of identify with self forgiveness and self-love yeah yeah I like a lot of you well know how we interact with our environment candy all impact yeah sure can. Well have a beautiful show Amy at 130 right Eastern time. God bless you. Okay you to the okay let's go back to Brad Silverman. He is with The studios 15,000 square-foot full-service production, postproduction facility in Burbank where I used to live on 517 E. Cedar but anyway Brad, this is been so good talking with you. I just I want to have you. Since were talking step-by-step the way God leads us where he guides, he provides that if you could encourage those out there in radio land who have desires and they feel God has called them to certain things and yet these crazy times that were in these insane times and yet you guys are you growing in this your facility of people like Dinesh Desousa and and some other one Dennis Prager in a bunch of others that are taking their projects to you to to for postproduction and so on. But, and I want you I want you to meet before you get off. I want you to meet my friend Martin Bennett, who is is waiting and I want you to know about his project but can you encourage those out there and I'm sure you have had encouragement about the sudden again.

I want to have before we get off a few more details about the three years you prayed with Brad and you know you two encouraged each other but could you encourage those out there that have those positions in the desires of their heart to hang in there and then using parables or signs say when I climb up Fuji that was a parable that God gave me this, a life parable, so could you just encourage folks of their error. Yeah, we don't. We never know or you don't know what you guys try to get right after so many years of getting it wrong right you encouragement and then talk about prayer time, but that is the encouragement place you know we never we never set out to do what we do we do anything of encouragement or not. Try to take over the world were not concerned about the crazy conduct their were not concerned about what people think about us when we were just trying to be faithful today so I get the we've learned anything in the journey. Paul and I you know what your five year plan what you need that to some degree.

My flight your planet. I hope I can be faithful to God. For the next 30 minutes that's IBC loyal right and learn day I woke to right Dave forget five years right new West Coast time, though, I'm nearly likely we start every day we we pray that the chronology never thought of the big we never like to be noted noteworthy to people praying together every day encouragement over three years with the client. All alt.all own Liability with the client.

Years and then for three years. Unlike the 2013 church nondenominational Bible teaching church and what and we became friends, and every day at work together prayed three years we were what we were praying to be faithful to God and then in 2015. He opened the door for me to come on board opine that five years ago. Yet the lack five years that I've been a Opine now on.

I do pray together pretty much every single day and were in the ward together pretty much every single day now and again in that were just speaking the Lord through his word and through prayer every single day and I want to get back totally out there crazy and noteworthy to people then it should right there you got our attitude and I don't have the pictures how to make it in the business or I know quick.

I know quick. I hear you like to get funding on how to make.

I've made a lot of films made a lot of noise. You, but I will say that our attitude by Beth encouragement Paul may result from day one. Why do we pray we need to we need to pray, we need to be the ward together independent in her own personalized the office already. We can't get this part right right, then nothing else will matter. Nothing else will fall the plate and were not to guide the group sure where you guys it made every possible say. Growing up in the world and all he would be done. Everything wrong lot but years were like. What would it look like to be faithful to God, day by day by day had you are new every morning and repent of the sin short account of her own thin bullet point about what about personal holiness. Yes, start their encouragement to deal with sin in your life can get in the word of God. Make sure your countable godly brothers and work for theories about Christ. You can lift each other up and encourage each other because whatever God will open up doors or he won't or the career goes, I've had my ups and my don't like everybody but in terms of the personal holiness in the daily walk with God. What faithfulness to Christ look like PA start here and there.

Make that the ambition of your life to God and then trust them. We are on a live lives that are radically… With which to go from we went public in 2016. We went public that we glorify God your birthday while well we do with your old stuff and write a Warner Bros. yeah right in the epicenter of film and television were like, we glorify God if that meant the building that the company collapses and we we have to take that right.we're doing and in that daily walk were just like, okay will Lord were to be radically ordinal. It is like heroic story. Yet there were many kind never doubted we never like you know? Yet, there were some hardline group's sorry I think I just cut him off did not call him again real quick.

Oh my goodness dear not good are you and Martin to I'm so sorry oh wow what happened welcome to live.

Oh dear. The live radio will have to get them on in just a few minutes. If you have not just units should be only a minute or so, I made the mistake of trying to get Martin on his paws on any is Brad on is not on nobodies is that is that it well that's a good conversation right on so sorry I messed up, prayed, so hang in there can never say this, and we will be right back home with Paul and Martin okay TruthNetwork.com your passion and uses it for the kingdom, and I want to finally get back to my guess after I goofed up. Don't do anything technical. That's the story of my life. Anyway, we were talking with Brad Silverman and so inspired about getting close to God seeking him for us and I was thinking, are you there Brad by the way, are I can't hear apparently good good.

I hear you. I'm so glad.

Anyway, welcome to guest posting dear Betty, I was at a just say what you're saying to his is that when we seek God and selfishly is that joy unspeakable and full of glory that starts to creep in.

And God gave me the three ply cord, the joy, the drop that you know Johnny of the Lord. He'll draw near to you as number one of the three ply cord in his presence is fullness of joy to and then the joy of the Lord, what is our strength and we need strength today. We certainly needed to at least keep trying with these things that we doing now.

I want you to meet Martin Bennett, who has this magnificent book called wounded tiger. This award-winning and he is a film to me be, and I just felt you know I like Ivan we could of been going on and on but I just wanted you to meet literally to meet Martin Bennett and he's been going through it to get to it as well for these years. But what an amazing story you know of one thing after the other and you are so inspiring to me. Brad already you know just I'm just I'm in if you'll forgive me if I'm so proud of both of you because I and thereto doing exactly all that you said you know, just a step at a time, holding tight to Jesus. So Martin are you there so excited.

Happy birthday Martin Bennett from his birthday supper prices and Martin meet Brad Silverman and I you and Martin has you know just he's just worked hard and amazingly he inspires me.

So Martin just unite you know that Brad is part of The studios. The 15,000 square-foot full-service production facility in Burbank.

And so, just to introduce yourselves to each other, you know, this kind of interesting but just say hi and more like 10 TI and like you for you Lord is one year seating. Apparently Martin I there Martin, how do you find the branches really can't do anything so that's really a great hear me okay yeah just just say descended on the no phone ringing work on this project. Tiger true story of Pearl Harbor life. Sounding really was known as the upper research in regards to filmmaking, or whatever you're calling you.

You really have to have clarity of heart, mind and spirit, of what God wants you to do so. Before Noah could really start building that are yet to know for sure because of the long term project so people involved in things that are significant better long-term deals. You really need to have that third of hardline weather any storm, screenplay got in front of investors beloved, even though the water goes down.

Brad is indication where we talk about possible coproduction deal and I told him I did one option project I want to control the integrity and he said he was fine with that but I would have to bring money to the table like that. I've turned down these offers on the project because they all require full creative control and because there restoring the Scripture only one post ended up on the cutting floor happened with unbroken and some other significant films. So focused on not looking to the book worth doing well got great reviews and the task at hand.

Now simply to put together the money to do an international market In the book you're in the US and Japan because the book has been translated Japanese Chris. I'm very much in the Japanese because that's my book to Japanese-American Troon natural supernatural love story. Why would a Japanese want to read a story about a guy the durable developed of the Japanese war were the one yes 30 seconds okay redemption story and it turns into friendship with God and man is all about – what a joy you guys. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day, Brad Silverman, i.e. you really inspire me and Martin. You always do, and happy happy birthday my dear and you know I I just hope all of you out there with your projects and your desires and your God-given dreams and visions have had some still do tank up today. I sure have had my bless you that old saying for the galaxy S. Never give up, never surrender you guys remember that crazy movie anyway. Looks of wounded tiger Martin Bennett and stuffy dad. I'm ordering it immediately if not sooner. God bless everyone out there that this is the Truth Network
