I'm also hanging out with you. Try to get you all set for the weekend.

It's been a busy Friday night show. We talked about the NFL. We talked about the games on Sunday. We talked about the college football games on Saturday. We talked about the U.S. Open tonight. Francis TR fall man. He fought and fought and fought gave a lot of people a heart attack, but he lost is not going to represent United States of America in the U.S. Open final on Sunday and yeah tennis still waiting for a Sampras and I can see it's it's not here, it might be sooner than later. Let's hope and wait. Baseball is changing up some of its rules. Basketball is going to have its Hall of Fame enshrinement take place on Saturday evening model Ginobili going into the whole shots to swing cash swing. I know swing her husband great human beings she's going and congratulations to her Tim Hardaway's going in Huggins is going in again Tim Hardaway. Okay, we want George Carlock a fine talk about that to we got a lot to do and I don't know about 20 minutes from now will have a conversation with Matt Collins of the Las Vegas raters and so one of the things that I do want to talk about that also took place tonight. Oh man oh there's a lot of Yankee fans just all over the country and is a lot of people who absolutely hate the Yankees spend a lot of money but they haven't won a title since 2009. So why would you hate them that much, but man they are just falling apart.

Tonight they took on the race. They might as will be called the New York judges because of Aron judge was not on this team. The Yankees would have hit the toilet a long time ago Aron judge did not hit a home run tonight. He still has an average of 304, he had two hits probably still photo quotes stuck on 55 home runs, which leaves the world and also 119 RBIs, which also leads the world and we know he's trying to push to 61 home runs. Go get Marist and go get 62, but the big thing that took place tonight and I want to talk about the rule changes on the pick the phone lines up in the second.

Aron Hicks, the leftfielder for the New York Yankees man. He got his ass warped by the fans in the Bronx, New York tonight he was chasing a foul ball at the left-field door to the foul line right towards the wall. He longed to catch the ball.

He didn't catch it. He thought the ball was found. The ball landed right there in fear territory after he didn't catch it. He didn't realize he was disappointed that he didn't catch it, and he stood there, leaning on the wall and the fans are yelling at him stupid get the ball. He allowed two runs to score.

He dropped another one in the same frame out in left field.

Aron Boone had to pull this man from the game.

Aron Boone had to pull Aron Hicks from the game. The Yankee fans are so brutal they were yelling and chanting at Aron Hicks you want to know what the hell they were calling this man. They were chanting at him show. We Gallo Mandy's Yankee fans are something else, and I wish I was joking to insult one major league baseball player.

The fans, the Yankee fans in the Bronx decided to chant at this man. The name of a guy who was one of the worst Yankees in recent memory. A guy who was so bad they had to trade him out of town. Aron Hicks is just terrible season. These cookies done with the New York Yankees that they gotta figure out a way to the dump.

You have Aron Boone saying yeah I had the poem the Yankees lead which at one point was just felt like 15+ games are ahead of Tampa Bay. It's now down to 3 1/2 games. Yankees one pays 4 million winds and now they only have 83 matter-of-fact Aron Hicks. He talked after the game and this is what he said.

Aron judge had to tell him listen wrong from nose prematurely. Ideally, Amazon, and although those are tough plays and you know when when you're a guy that doesn't make the play was rough, especially when you want to make a play for the team and is a saying in the Frisco natural to place all my there's nothing like to play one he just brain lock you forgot the ball was in play in the next homage drop in one enemy gets pulled this would be a night that he never forgets. And in the fans holding Joey Gallo. Shep, can you imagine being so damn bad at your job that people yell at you and call you someone else who was worse at it than you are. Yeah, I mean cousins does fans have every right to tell a human being what they should do with their lives because they're perfect right, no, I mean Grand Am it's this is what comes in. How does that help Aron to ask how does that help the New York Yankees. Do I think I misread you everywhere you go. Just be a stadium. It doesn't it doesn't look this is the these are the facts. This is what it comes down to if you play in New York is just what it is.

Is it right know it's not but this is what it is and I Aron Hicks at this point he's damaged goods.

We saw Joey Gallo play in New York and he stunk and it took him a day of going out to Los Angeles with no pressure and he was able to play and he sees perform better. So Aron judges is will not Aron judge Aron Hicks is I don't see any coming back from this, the Yankees are gonna have to figure out something in the off-season to get him the hell up on out of there, man. He's getting getting cold. Joey Gallo, that is its creative. It's pretty while this wild situation here anyway. Even wilder of a situation. I'm actually glad that this is going to take place. Major league baseball is changing up somebody's damn rules to be implemented next year deletes competition committee which includes owners and umpire players. They voted and not unanimously to actually help move the damn game of baseball forward looking to have a pitch clock starting next year on the major-league level of pictures that I have 15 seconds to throw that damn ball to the plate.

He's going to have 20 seconds if somebody happens to be on base, major-league baseball with so many teams employing multiple defenders into one spot.

Baseball is going to ban the shift. You gonna need two fielders on each side of second base, which means historically if you're the third baseman. Keep your ass on third base. If you're the shortstop stay between third and second if you, the second basement you know where you belong close to the right side of second base, but not on first. There also requiring these infielders to stay on the dirt so you're not going to see the second basement become the second right fielder, and you won't see the shortstop become a centerfielder out in right field you you won't see any of that and it's a good and a bad it be nice of baseball players can actually you know hit the other way to eliminate the shift but then some guys like Joey Gallo who hit into the shift every damn day. They gonna benefit the bases will also be larger which will open things up for more stolen bases and are going to be that big. Where you going to be ridiculously noticeable and in pictures. They're not going to be able to circumvent the pitch clock by throwing over to first base a million times only to be allowed to pick offs/mount step offs per plate appearance and what happens automatic ball if you don't deliver that ball to the plate in the case of the batter. What happens if you're not in the box and automatic strike and so I am not mad at these rule changes in major-league baseball there made to speed up the game to make it more entertaining. And it's absolutely necessary. In the case of the pitch clock. It's actually cut down minor-league games to two hours and 30 minutes. Now when it comes down to major-league baseball players were obviously more skilled are we going to start seeing to our to 1/2 hour games versus three-hour games probably not to be God's without pictures often since it's not to be the same, but this is going to be the start of at least hoping to put a tiny tiny dent into major-league baseball. Let's see how much of it does 855-2124 CBS only get your calls and before we talk to Matt Collins. Let's go ahead and talk to Richie's here from Chicago on the JR sport preshow CBS sports radio I'm very well go ahead and preparing for you.

What I want your opinion of of 11 review a couple of matchups in college football weekend. But you look like week one, which was really exciting, wondering our talk about what I think the consolidation of these negative colleges is a good thing for one reason was probably more than one wonder parent may is that you will pretty much eliminate cupcake opponent during feeling that nobody really wants you to see your powerhouse particular. Still some of that going but there are five games which aren't a lot that future right came spying other right came or how you thought of going to America, get your opinion on the adventure come down here we clearly go tell you a lot about what I call pretenders versus contenders in one of the liable party is the Florida Kentucky Florida was unread in the right 12 from awake, which is a little silly and Kentucky is actually good, but are playing the game felt bad about taxes. I think a terrible and they've got the future gambit Alabama 20 point favorite LOL what Wheatley talked will will will rich and in the interest of time, Wheatley talked about. We ran through exactly those gains early Ron and Michelle someone a minute if you want to give you a brief summation. You name the two games that I really want to see you name the games that I probably pay the most attention to and it's it's it's twofold Texas and Alabama were obviously going to open things up tomorrow early in the day in the afternoon or the morning depending on where you live in Alabama is probably going to beat the brakes off of Texas. Okay this things to pay attention to hear really how much they gonna beat him by what is quite yours going to do and then pretty much Texas you want to talk about super conferences there waiting to leave the big 12 and everybody's just waiting on Archie Manning and for your gators.

This only run one reason, one that I want to sit down and watch the gators. It's the man who helped get them into that 12 rank and that 12 see it's it's Anthony Richardson I want to see what he does at the quarterback position. I want to see how he can continue. He's ridiculously exciting and which is going to have to pretty much go from there. He's the only reason I will sit down and watch the gators right now, especially coming under a first-year head coach well there they are, they are improved they do have an outstanding coach and you fill out whole, but Kentucky is no slouch there quarterback joined or drafted. Let's why develop/is outstanding and this is not going to be a cakewalk. Yeah it's it's it's not to be a cakewalk by any any stretch of the imagination, but you you opened up your your statement by you know, talking about how this part of the season this last weapons okay Alabama and Texas are going to take on each other.

Alabama just beat Utah State 55 the nothing the longhorns they be Louisiana Monroe 52 to 10. This last weapons and we talked about this earlier this week.

There's only a handful of schools that we can legitimately look at and say oh my God, these are national championship contenders and we know pretty much will occupy maybe three out of four slots and we know the other three or four teams that have the potential to do so as well.

And unfortunately, regardless of how good Kentucky might be kind of in that second or third tier, or even for the Florida gators. It's going to take a whole hell of a lot for them to to move up into that space of just being a national championship contender. We know who they are, Alabama, Georgia, and then we can throw in Ohio State and/or Michigan or anybody else who wants a seat at the table because they will surprise us will probably gonna have one surprise school riches here from Detroit.

Your CBS sports radio they would going over I'm here Rich go ahead I will I will blog about baseball.

Wish you baseball the ship man initiated update probably will help to support but I think all of the other rules are product of baseball letting you television media by executive basically take over the direction of the score.

None of you today. Bigger basically, definitely a pitch clock. There's no saying real fan of baseball anywhere, man. It's been clamored for these rule and get to keep pushing them out. So they go become type of Savior turning point baseball. Nobody wants to pitch clock bigger basically than anything else that they're going to increase all.

Even increase all updates being nobody being clamored for that while baseball is a is a situation Rich I think your omitting one big part, they are less quote unquote real fans of baseball and that's the large that is the larger problem.

It's not so much TV executives saying this is something that needs to be implemented.

The fact and the reality is is that younger people are not watching baseball. There are a multitude of reasons as to why this exists, but this is an edict coming down from TBS or Fox or ABC. This is just the reality that baseball needs to change. Just like every other sport because if we had to take a look at baseball.

The way it was played out.

I want to say 3040 5060 years ago. It's not gonna fly every sport here in the United States of America has evolved football has evolved the NBA has evolved we can go back to a 7980 and look at the three point line. The athletes have evolved in baseball is a beautiful game and although no one might be clamoring quote unquote real fans of baseball are clamoring for rule change. The fact is, if it stayed the same. If it stays the same.

It's going to die is going to fall off the face of the earth know people always in a ball with a stick, but it's gonna move into 1/3 tier sport. It already has.

Behind the NBA behind the NFL in regards to popularity and the revenues are going in that same damn direction to the general sport we show you with your CBS sports radio 855-2124 CBS were going to take a break we come back with them to talk to Mac Hollins of the Las Vegas Raiders check in with him his new team. What he's doing with Special Olympics gets more your calls before rollout was talk to Mac on the other side. CBS sports radio you are listening to the JR sport brief on CBS sports radio you are listening to the JR sport brief on CBS sports radio JR sport Rachel right here with you on CBS sports radio and right now on VE Augustana post season has started a ready but we get ready for NFO one Sunday right now would be drawn by someone who is a dear friend.

He's a Special Olympics champion ambassador. He is also of biggest Raiders wide receiver we pattern here on the show is my main man Mac Collins Mac how are you brother. I'm doing great JR and appreciate having it. No doubt about this. This is good to have you back on the show. I will going to talk about some of the amazing things that you do with them for Special Olympics, including physical gaming event that's going to take place tomorrow and next weekend will get into that. Obviously every body. This is the first football Friday for the that the start of the season we saw the game last night. The Rams and the bills got us all set.

How are you feeling here on a Friday night. I'm feeling good now this is that this is what but we only do it for nearly the last who knows how long.

Feels like it was two months with the training For this weekend I'll see those Rams got to get theirs on the way they got get that that is stressful of ours ours going in today's nesting, the super excited put a lot of work and all the guys are ready to go against somebody in a different calendar, no doubt about that Raiders your nude scenes going to take on the charges will have a chance and opportunity see that how does it feel putting on that that that black in that sober man are you are you waiting for that all yeah my very first guys in black and silver is silver and black automatics is okay don't know where I was.

I was at fault and that is super excited young I was a preseason one vapor donning you know I guess on your six had that same feel as one is red, when it's really again so it is really exciting and prompt for the first time on Sunday and more man you talk about your brother Matt Collins is joining us your CBS sports radio JR sport ratio. Your offense is stacked your wide receiver room is stacked the gods with their hands or stack.

Renfro received the box, a bear, you got down Waller on the slot as well, and I'm to get to you guys, squeezing into that that that will break that's on talk about all the receivers and hands and the offense did you guys have right now that I think was was great about our room on University room as well is the whole offense, nudity, and in general is our ability to push each other. We have a lot of guys that have accolades and guys who have a history of success in his late, but we don't have anybody who's comfortable with where they are or feels like they're just supposed to be handed anything that's not been delayed a few years and I seen that on others either heard of it from quality management on other teams and it's just not a recipe for success of no nothing is and it's even a slave. Nothing is given to you. Nothing is easy in his leg so that you know to be in a room and on a team of a bunch of guys that work hard and push each other.

It's really exciting is it gives you something to wake up to get out of bed coworker Special Olympics champion of basilar Mac Collins seal of the CBS sports radio radio what happened and that Wilbur man hung around from a Joe squeeze up in a Toyota Camry. You guys what you just six all by yourself man is our status to the data from 100 and I delivered that when you order this is a good fit for people only have four people out on a walk on what it is but I'm not I'm not an XL and we don't have seven people, but it did happen to be probably the smallest car in all of candy Ohio and we listen, we just talk Internet is a good memories okay well I mean come on y'all about a foot bigoted meeting all are not yellow, not for people size. So next time get it all" will pool our money is immigrant doesn't change together and other no doubt about it. Listen man.

The guy was going to be throwing you a football Derek car we've seen him, just be all business. How's it feel being on the receiving end of his pants right now. It's great and he's not as much of the season). Author. It is a great guy and that matters a lot to examine his ability to interact with any person in any player how genuine he is everybody is really nice to see digit of a little :-) you want to talk there want to hang out.

There is a great dude in this case a great family, great and just brings a great energy and you know you can just feel the vibrant energy what they say.

When will know that the way they treat you assist they can walk around and United looking at a new distiller Mac Collins seal with Las Vegas Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver talk about Derek. I remember the minute he got drafted.

I was one of the first people that interviewed him. The second he got drafted on. We did that for herself. It's nice to see his progression and I wish you would've right is not, but success member to talk about him being the good guy Matt you're a good guy, Special Olympics champion ambassador of the employee or worker Special Olympics over the years my media for the movement for and working to talk about gaining more inclusion.

But why is Special Olympics and organization that you work so closely with multiple reasons, but I think it started out. I've always had a connection to it.

I had a neighbor within our children. The studies going had a roommate ecology base is basically rather than intellectual disabilities.

Special of exactly and then throughout my career in the NFL at my relationship to power knowledge and investor hasn't has grown with specialist and I just all normal. Just that place the people involved with the it's just something that makes me happy that NAV is a selfish reason that I do.

It makes me happy to be there and hang out that athletes in Boston competing to see how close that that bridge that he will say there is between us really is is not as smart parties, it may seem work where all people manage just what it boils down to beings where all people, but I talked for living.

I can't run and catch footballs would be an athlete like you and your very well read your more than an athlete.

Your your human being. You started book clubs, your doing work with Special Olympics over talking about here. You're also a gamer man in Special Olympics as something amazing that's gonna take place tomorrow and then next Saturday as well. Talk to us about gaming for inclusion yeah this is that this is this is a big initiative discussion of axis really got behind creating and got behind going into the second year and really I say this is something that kind of on the few good things that came out of Covington being on lockdown. Is this opportunity to continue to close the gap between people with intellectual disabilities and without because it gives people happy to see that those with intellectual and auto business unit exact same thing and asking when you see 76 gaming in your life if you didn't know if you are let out of our business to anything you say their professional gamer. The way that are able to be liked is when every mad weather as rapidly as for Mariners quality line. He'd be shocked at the exact same reaction that I see people when they first come to a special act like any type of sports event and there in shock that same exact act is what I see with the game for inclusion stuff and it's so incredible to see that that's another it is bracing back to see somebody like change in the whole perspective on those intellectual disabilities change writer Mac I'm smart enough to not even try to play against anybody. I will stand there and watch. I know if I tried the play. I get my behind him. It's of the out of sitdown and watch that that's any majorities on this when I do is I want and I see the best and I just chided his students will answer their slot. This is okay as worker wanted a little bit of a front runner.

There's nothing wrong with that.

Matt Holland's greatest wide receivers joining us and so gaming for inclusion is going to take place tomorrow it's going to stream on Microsoft's switch platform and next week it will actually be the celebrity showcase so people who compete tomorrow. We ball down to the best of the best and they'll take on former running back Jamaal Charles. We got some WWE superstars. We have some other people is the big deal Matt. United twist has become this huge thing and then for the specialist go to partner with Microsoft stuffing neither seen his WWE star Mozart that would never happen. Becoming because video gaming was weird it was that way I people that are never to be successful. Do not get locked in your house in two years and although she would have been getting really successful. I gaming are now coming out of the back and as the successful people that are getting sponsorships that are getting paid are making a living off of video games and was great is that that opportunity is now opening up for those national disabilities. As I bear having the same opportunities analysis to Jeanette and everybody has not played a lot. Which of the super supervisor is undecided and exacting what and I can enjoy before we got appreciate appreciate that man I encourage everyone to go to Special Olympics.org/gaming for inclusion. We have the tournament that will take place tomorrow and in the celebrity showcase. The following week. Man, I know you got again to get ready for him and ask you this.

On the way out. I don't expect the fancy and submit what it what it needs Las Vegas Raiders going to do this season. Man, that the goal is to score more points, not monitoring center points going again to go.

I appreciate that working people keep up with you all the amazing work that you do in and for the community and also Special Olympics men mapping at all. They are all not all my platforms are at Matt Holland's adjust my name at Matt Collins Fridays and I fast-track Friday's record videos on informational videos. I got my Mac with Mondays knowledge on educating mega fundamentalist/football and I appreciate that was the last book but wanted to read Telus Matt will if you're reading a book on the color of money right now, which is pretty good that experience. I read a book is a good laugh, but it's necessary smart land, land not eat lamb. I don't know about the book lamp I'm looking out Jesus's best friend, Jesus is not okay to check that out. Matt got appreciate you, go ahead and Google out right now they do it in the commercial break.

I appreciate you always being an ambassador for Special Olympics. I encourage folks to go ahead and check out gaming for inclusion Mac. Good luck with you and the Raiders in shock. Catch up with you before the season is done in your busy guide.

Not afterwards okay.

Thank you so much. They are represented. You are listening to the JR sport brief on CBS sports radio you are listening to the JR sport brief: CBSSports Leo Michael on the way home JR you are a great board psychologist from another mother and I met you clearly now with 855-2124 CBS that's right it's the JR sport preshow here with you on CBS sports radio. Thank you again to Matt Collins for joining us men, have a lot to talk about will be get back your Monday night. We have MMH tomorrow. We have college football tomorrow. We have the basketball Hall of Fame tomorrow U.S. Open finals over the weekend as well know Americans obviously NFL on Sunday.

We just have a busy busy week, and even the WNBA their final start on Sunday as well, get your calls here right now before I roll out so let's not waste any time Jeff is here from Atlanta. Your CBSSports radio HF what how you at Jeff is not there.

Save me some time. Chris from Alan your CBSSports radio R JR Special Olympics stop I'm gone about the baseball I don't know what that thing and try to keep a note over mine but I'm kind of a dinosaur. Hell, I didn't even like the DA but I'm not certain what the guy guy I am all in favor of the clock.

I do have that it should have been that way that felt met the vileness on the players. There was something about that in the road before, but never really import that command the basis that 9 to 90 feet on a little some authors tell me where I can position my players health didn't get Graham for 400 man to shift back and I'm not certain home runs out. There's a lot on here but but I think it's really what they're trying to do is about the TV because I'm pretty certain as attendance down because yes on the market value. The answer is yes to both.

He is a deal and I guess this is something that that's being echoed by by several people.

Anyone can say it's about the TV.

It's not. It's really as simple fact. Baseball does not have the Saints don't forget television okay television is what's keeping baseball a lot because it's a live sport. This is really what it boils down to.

It's very simple baseball for many reasons does not have the same type of popularity it had in the past I people have more options. Baseball is a slower sport society does not operate in a slower space as baseball needs to speed things up. That's what it boils down to help me with it though I like to make a light off parts for the greater good for good, but life for me I haven't been able to Catch on the soccer that same kind of boring to me and yet that popularity is increased and I think that we have games on heck is he is very. This is a very simple answer and and Chris on the Nancy, thank you for calling for Marilyn. No problem soccer has a set time okay. It has a set time baseball has no clock. You can look at the action for soccer. Depending on what your different strokes for different folks. If you know what you're looking at all the formations and and what you did.

It depends but the bigger picture is it has a clock 4545 extra time are we going to penalties. Oh what form of what legally watching what international are we going to penalties of what would be doing here but you have a clock I can watch the game. There are no commercials. You see, you might look at soccer and sale man this is boring man I love all sports normally sounds. I sit down to watch a game ago another commercial you know many times and and in my brain.

Unfortunately I guess fortunately works in a different space because I understand programming understand timing. I am a producer by trade and produced television, radio, I've worked out a magazine like I understand producing you how many times I set out a sporting event and were sitting there you are really sitting there with no action because of television commercials. Most fans don't even realize that you gotta wait for the umpire to get the cue from the TV people to get the game going like this is big business. So understand you may not like soccer but there's a lot of people who love it because of the time, the lack of commercials because the continuous action that you do get their people look at football and go and us a lot of stop and go and so there's a different strokes for different folks. Alan is here from Toronto.

Your CBSSports radio where there would be a lot more and having a lot more stolen bases when they started around the bay spent time talking about their turn 30 Cedric Mullins are truly believing about one third of the way down because next point picture cannot throw to first are trying to come up, and instead of being a step in a dive away under the two steps in the diagram to draw the picture… Alan Alan. Alan Alan stopped talking man. Alan slowly now the pictures can't throw their limited in the amount of pitches they can't stand on the mound and throw 10 times to first base but there limited to gas are going to take a excitable leader and it it will increase the amount stolen bases. Yes well I got it so you there was some dining Ricky Henderson. It seemed like he stole a million, and it seems like nowadays nobody does anything so I don't think it's the worst thing in the world. You have a picture of Meridian Mullins guys who run yes people yeah but here's the thing people stop running in baseball used to run all the damn time.

I guess we'll get closer to the mean at this point going to be a little bigger then and and and and people watching at home will know zero difference if you like stolen bases. I like it like not just I just like a little bit action. I think we all like a little bit action.

Paul is calling from Alexandria, pull your CBSSports radio. Our ER I don't like the banning of the I hate this chair, but I think that the brothers order learn how to break this. I agree it. Stupid thing. I have a question for you quickly regarding the size of the waterfront. What most go make it easier for the player to hang onto the base not overrun the base knows the point of the larger basis to also encourage stolen bases similar to what I just discussed with Alan. It's not going to be ridiculously sizable but it allows someone who's heading in for slide to be able to get that hand or this gigantic glove were meant that they have in a little bit easier to keep someone on base. That's the point of that the larger basis to encourage theft might break her broken ankle program and to that I don't I don't think any any any more than usual.

Something changes necessary folks.

It happens. Who likes it. Nobody I would love if they didn't need the shift but I understand the promise and thought of it because ain't nobody doing it hidden all the way. It be nice. Maybe we'll get back to hey Shep, thank you again for an amazing week meant. Thank you, JR, and we have a busy busy weekend. What are you up to this weekend.
