Alex James bocce only hang out here with me and you as well and weave without a busy night talked about the rookie quarterbacks in their performances just even though it's preseason Kenny Pickett Lalique Willis Desmond Ritter talked about Zach Wilson and Trevor Lawrence guys moving into their second year. Obviously, Zach Wilson suffered a bone bruise in a torn meniscus on Friday night against the Eagles buddies only expected to miss 2 to 4 weeks. Meniscus does not need a full repair and we talked about Brett Favre, Brett Favre, who says throughout the course of his career recently. He said this, he has suffered more than a thousand concussions and he's now an advocate that children don't play tackle football until their 14 under 14 years old and participate in flag football and with all the developments in and things that we've learned.

And unfortunately some of the tragedies that that that we've experienced and learned about.

I'm not mad think we'd lose anything all that big or gigantic. Is everybody going to go ahead and play in the NFL.

Hell no, of course not.

But I think it's I think it's safe. I don't think we lose anything in that regard.

Ultimately, it should be the choice for parents and their kids. I think 855-2124 CBS. I have two callers who been waiting patiently through the brakes all or bring them on. And then I want to update you on Kevin Durant.

If you had this on your bingo card for today then congratulations, you are an Oracle Kevin Durant had some comments about his career and his future that he wanted to refute a rumor and yada sabbatical, both speaking of rumors did he start one himself about leaving Milwaukee will will will get into that. It's a rather interesting, I would worry too much about it but I'll share those comments with you.

Let's get these callers who been waiting very patiently 855-2124 CBS Alex is calling from the great state of Illinois. Your CBSSports radio. Alex was up very well alright so on. Everybody here is leaving the gym and Nelly had a colleague significantly on the previous college because I think it is very important to young age to learn the fundamental good faith Like I played football and the age of 11.

I think the important thing when people are talking you is the issue of the helmet impact right. The helmet colliding together is what kind of like it typically is not the kind you think will look at any get more in shape and that the acting out. So I think if kids are able to learn cackling. You know, without a heavy helmet without pad the negative be able to learn how to do it safely and without danger of getting a concussion. If you look at a car when they invented seatbelts and airbags think that casualties from Carquest to actually go down but the fact is that they went out because people are driving more quickly and more recklessly and I think that's what happened in cocoa you yeah that's I understand what you're saying but there there two different sports. I have not I have not played rugby. Obviously I've watch more NFL in my life I have hung out so I did.

So this is sounds like a flex. I have hung out at the Olympics with rugby players. I've actually done shoots and talk to rugby players rugby players have actually had me on the pitch and have taught me how to play rugby so am I going to sit here and say on those much as you Hell no. But I do have a cursory understanding. At the same time, I would not say there's a comparison because the, the, the sports obviously are not the same and the level of contact and in the context is is not the same thinking and correct me if I'm wrong.

If you agree or disagree with me.

There's a difference between a scrum and what we see on an NFL field, wouldn't you say will be in the final. When colleges started directing 20 you know English word being that eventually you will write well I I understand that but what I'm saying to you is there not the same money we can talk about the evolution and what they might be akin to, but the physical interactions are not the same run out, but you do not you not answering you not answer my question Alex using their they are not alone are not similar, is it the same will okay will depend no it's not. I'm not talking about the pads if I want to rugby game. Do I see an individual, just stand there with another man just just spearing him and I don't know now just an open field knowledge doesn't happen. Why would don't so it is the same. You telling me. The only difference between football and rugby just so happens to be the pads and element right now kind of scrimmage. It might be better still okay well I I'm I'm talking about the D interactions not my point to you.

Alex's not. I don't think that we we have a change either one of us of opinion here, but III see something very different when I watch an NFL game and what I see in and rugby in it. It's not just a matter of the other pads of the helmet.

Okay on record keeping.

Tackle well okay you typically much safer and would be able your phone will Alex, thank you for calling your phone was going out there at the end. I don't dispute any of that man. I mean it's gone from always the same will now it's similar know which one is it is different bro is different.

If that was the case then dammit that we be playing the same sport all over the world and were not consistent differences.

Physical interactions are different and so for it. Forget that.

Yes I know what's going on in rugby and I've often marveled at the same thing and it had the same conversations with people about not wearing helmets and pads running out there in shorts and a jersey and boom it it is but the fact is, when you got people flying at you like a torpedo. This is what it is that where and pads it wearing helmets.

We ate we ain't changing the rules of the NFL meet if you want to have that conversation. It's a different one. It ain't happening. Matthews golf in California. Your CBSSports radio all thank you God on all all you need to be in the long run. More traditional and Matthew sound Matthew sound, muffled. There continue adjust yourself final on you better now then not not really, but go ahead, make your point quickly that a good idea for all people because I overall serious business.

This is there's no doubt about that and thank you Matt, I gotta let you go with that. The connection there. We've heard the same thing about basketball players. Obviously not in regards to head injuries. People start to think about why guys are falling apart in their 20s, and you've heard this from certain players and we've heard this from doctors as well. It's like they don't stop playing ball playing ball all year long playable all year long. When it when it cleans and were talking about travel basketball and AAU basketball then going into college now and Artie got wear and tear on.

And now here we are in this space and this time, and you may not be a head injury but wear-and-tear is all the same.

So why would not be any different for someone please professional football of which they are very few of us P is going from San Diego your CBSSports radio go great when I think about technology and how technology is solving so many problems when I think about brain injury. I think about the impact and neurologic devices now that are measuring impact. For instance, there's a field called Telematics of you familiar with. No, I'm not doing here working hard with automobile insurers put into place in your car and they can tell by the impact how good a driver you are and what kind of risk you are to ensure the same device or something like it could be put on the human beings body and measure the impact that they have to incurred while I'm not I'm not disputing that I know across professional sports.

We now have technologies and in players are able will not players but teams and organizations in players as well.

They can see how much they've ran in a particular practice that they can measure that they can measure so much now how that has affected head injuries in the NFL.

Is that something that they're doing. Not that I'm aware of is something that they could do with the proper investment.

I'm sure about what do know this for fact our complex. The brain is and I don't know if you could. You can measure and impact certainly could even be able to measure the effect on the brain.

Is that going to be a marker to say all this guy can't play anymore. It's crazy. Jim school of Georgia your CBSSports radio. I don't know about measuring the impact, but I do know cut down on the number of hours you practice so they cut down on how much hitting, but the fundamentals are the key. What you're cutting down on the exam is fading out your head on the way. Now if runabout comes running her talk about Yolanda.com you groundhog showed show Michelle Sgt. I guess the past you call is all: from the same phone line.

I don't know. Let's talk to Roxie Roxie Emma let you get the last word here on the subject: from San Diego and on the cross my fingers that Roxie is calling me from a good phone and not a VCR. Roxie your CBSSports radio call from San Diego. Right on. I can't understand that I have had plenty of concussion in my life like knockout blackout and you know I'm different things a flying car accident when hit by a car live in walking across a and I've never played out there going to happen, you know, I think like a dangerous enough without putting yourself, choosing to now plant like that you're guaranteed to get concussion on my dad used to plan around back in my 16 and on you now and in college and Michael is now and I yeah he got concussion.

We could noticed that change in his personality and path. I'll tell as far as like limiting the kids. Ted starting at 14. I think that lot people, parents, especially probably are not going to be down with that because Derek and I think that you know I start my care that you will be the back and put a plant. I've heard Valerie greatly went 7 million 700 million that you know they make a paycheck so desirable that everybody can one and you know, the younger you start to be the better your chance. I mean, I think, even if that look like law, I don't think that I think a question little because they want you know they want that paycheck.

In the end I found another job and get paycheck back then. Now you know ARE absolutely Roxie and thank you for sharing this person stores in San Diego.

I appreciate your absolutely acknowledge some is no doubt about it, and this is this what it boils down to. You can be an applicant.

Brett Favre is an advocate. I have no problem if you want to move that number up or you want to say 14 is that the common marker it's it's nobles down to personal choice and there is a financial incentive for a lot of folks who sell man we don't play in you will play will see how far it goes to personal choice from both the participant and the adults who work that weathers the parents of the grandparents or aunts, uncles lovers, there overseeing that shop's personal choice and I think like everything else.

You make that choice.

Look, we got people play football and and they know what the risks are the risks outweigh the potential rewards for some not everybody's going into the NFL.

How many people to run around with the $50 million that Karen Rogers is getting year how many nobody is only one guy given that it's our Rogers right now is everybody else getting paid handsomely yet. You might get your ass whipped in the process and you also might pay for it at the end personal choices. The word is the words are the words but the fact is I would be met if they did the JR sport. We show here with you on CBSSports radio looking to take a break and we come back. I want to share with you some other words they been uttered and shared by Jan is a tentacle ball and also Kevin Durant. Of course the rent, not words but twitter don't move as the JR sport ratio CBSSports radio you are listening to the JR sport brief on CBSSports radio you are listening to the JR sport brief on CBSSports radio by saying I love the show so real, so many different topics: no 855-2124 CVS's the JR sport ratio here with you on CBSSports radio set out for my folks listening in Chicago right now shut off all my friends at the score 670 was I gotta tell you about to interesting Chicago stores were quick. First of all, this is recent and it's it's also not just reason it's hilarious. And so I'm here in the commercial break just doing what I do.

I'm going to the news and seeing what's going on and then the Tony LaRusso he was a kind of trending again. Not because he fell asleep, and congratulations to the White Sox tonight on the south side. They beat the Houston Astros. The final score 42 score for those runs in the eighth to beat the strokes.

Congratulations to those White Sox. Now here's where the story is funny because the clip that I just saw is I guess Tony LaRusso just getting advice from a fan in the stands. There's a guy sitting behind home plate close to the dugout. I guess not, is as close behind home plate buddies adjacent to the dugout and who knows if this is true, it doesn't matter.

It's just funny this guy is yelling at Tony LaRusso to take. I don't know who it is awful. First but to put an angle to pinch run.

He's yelling Adam pinch run what angle put put them out they had put them out there pinch run pinch run, to be honest I don't even know if it's first, but the fan is yelling at Tony LaRusso to put a pinch runner out there on the basis Tony LaRusso goes out onto the field calls for time and does exactly what the fan said and so people on social media are losing their minds.

Some of the comments are at least Tony LaRusso was in sleep this time and I guess Tony LaRusso was sleep in the fan needs to go out into the dugout and actually manage the team and so people are making a big deal out of it. Tony LaRusso can't do his job. He needs the fans to yell at him to tell them what to do and I think that's hilarious.

This isn't so much hilarious. Especially if your Fannin in Milwaukee probably saw the start to go viral.

Earlier in the day. Maybe last night Siana sabbatical about one of the best basketball players to ever live. Two-time MVP champion last season. Maybe would have been a champion again if Chris Middleton didn't get hurt. But Jan is a tentacle ball. He basically invested in the company. It's called antidote health's telehealth go online and get some advice from a doctor so he invested into this company. He was doing interviews and as a part of his interviews to help promote this company. One of the markets that he decided to discuss was in Chicago so Yanez had an interview with Fox 32 and they talked about not only antidote health but they were also able to ask him about the bolts and not just the team that he typically beats but about one day if he would ever be considering the thought to put on the red and black. This is what Yanez had to say. I think anybody asked that question plays basketball if he said no, it would be a liar. You know it's a team that that one there multiple chopsticks.

It seemed that one of the greatest good is not good that is gameplay for so it's it's it's it's a no-brainer left leg for Chicago never know know I never know how to live in Chicago but that I now permit while you set a whole lot there to ultimately concluded his statement with Rob committed to Milwaukee being also the type of questions that you don't have to answer those are the type of questions where you can typically just say I'm I think about that right now my my my my presences with the Milwaukee Bucks and I might think about that while he was honest. By the way Yanez has four years remaining on his five year $228 million contract. By all indications, Yanez sounds perfectly fine and Milwaukee with the box and I would be too if I had a chance to compete for title he's invested in the community, not just in local businesses, but men even have a slice of a team like the Brewers like Yana says Milwaukee and he's talked openly about sticking around in Milwaukee as long as they still give him a chance to go out and compete for championship, and that's what you would expect from someone like Jan is a tentacle ball. Why would he go elsewhere. He seems like assault on earth God. I've met him years ago when he came into the league met his family.

He's a good do this is not put it to you this way.

I don't think there will ever be a situation where Jan is a tentacle ball tries to strong arm a team into getting what he wants and so is he honest yeah and I appreciate him being honest in this regard that will be folks who just have a conniption because Yanez wanted to say yeah maybe one day the play for the balls. He's talked about man it be great one day to maybe play with Steph Curry. It be great to do this but I'm in Milwaukee and so I have no issue with what Yanez said he was honest was he to honest. No, I don't think so. If I was a fan of the Milwaukee Bucks. I wouldn't worry about it so hurt people make a big deal out of it. Why would Yanez say this. Why would Yana Stephen crack open the door for playing from the Bulls are playing for the Bulls. Why would he go right down. You know right down the road and do that this ain't no big deal. Yana Susan Milwaukee Kate packing his bags to go to Chicago next year. He packing his bags the year after that. Dammit, I don't ever see Yanez even at the end of this contract saying trade me. Jan just won't ball out. He's going dunk on the Bulls Eagle on the Bulls entity place for them down the line.

I guess he's going be one step closer to retirement. So Jan is saying that Yahoo hasn't thought about playing for the Bulls not not a deal not not a big deal whatsoever if he honest to compose one of these wine and ass crybaby NBA players do not say it was a big deal if this was Kari Irving out say big deal. Shut up. If this was James are not say, big deal. Just shut up.

If this was Kevin Durant.

I'd say it was a big deal. It seems like Yana says a little bit more professional integrity. Yana's is just going ball out the most important thing out everything he said, although a lot was that he's committed to the Milwaukee Bucks 8552124C BSS 855-2124 CBS Jan is admitting that one day it sure he'd be open to playing for the Bulls simple question. Big deal. Small deal or no deal at all the phone lines are open to you and then speaking of our crybaby asked NBA player. I want to update you on something that Kevin Durant said this evening. Phone lines are open will talk to you on the other side you were listening to the JR sport brief on CBS sports radio listening to the JR sport brief on CBS sports radio right you know, like when I come home and I like walking out car on the market out there holy now 855-2124 CBS JR sport brief, so it's a family affair sawdust.

Everybody noticed people listen with the kids this the young man who said that Alice about my grandpa and it's amazing I love it. Family time. I'll try my best not to say anything that disrupts families 855-2124 CBS.

That's 855-2124 CBS right before we went the break I shared with you the audio from Yana's a tentacle ball being interviewed by Fox 32 and he was asked about maybe one day you'll playing for the Bulls and Llamas was just like yeah maybe sure is I who anybody says they wouldn't consider it is lying talk about their history. Talked about Michael Jordan.

Why wouldn't anybody want to suit up but then he said, look, committed to the box and so insert people that will just lie what what why would you even say that well because he honest wanted to be transparent. Llamas wanted to tell the truth and it's not like Yana's abilities. Crybaby asked player so I got no issue with it. I don't think he's gonna go set up the stage to leave the Bulls is just honest. He's like the last guy I would worry about. Just because he was honest is nothing wrong with that but that was so used to do just run in their yaps and saying one thing and doing another. Llamas actually comes across as someone having professional integrity. Big deal. Small deal.

I say no deal what you say 855-2124 CBS to take your calls and then I want to tell you about speaking of crybaby yes players I want to talk you about Kevin Durant because he actually I guess I can say broke his silence when it comes to to Brooklyn in a rumor that came out today that Lester is calling for Miami on CBS sports radio what's up Lester. For everyone.

There are wanted. I don't think Yana turned out to go with mobile I spoke from the heart. If you are probably in Fremont like impose getting agenda.

Maybe when I retire and have fun and go to maybe two little something something better made a very clear target Milwaukee where he belongs and out.

But I give it all I really know the thank you Les appreciate you for calling for Miami is no eat this man has been committed to the box. This man is talk about how he likes it there.

The mantis talked about how you'll stay there as long as they their competitive will still worry about and I know I I gotta be honest too if you're box fan you want a championship with the guy.

If you want another one for your competitive thought say the next five years of his contract with the next four years. If Llamas decides to leave big what my goal yet.

It's gonna suck it would hurt if that takes place but could you have asked for anything more. Yanez came into the league. This is wild to think about. He came in in 2013. Time flies.

The man averaged seven points and four rebounds. This man is basically been like off 30 points per game, 12, 13 rebound six assess multiple blocks all defended this this is what he's turned into a storybook career can be mad at anything that Jan is does he shows up the work yank flashy, he just plays his ass off that's that's all you can ask for NASCAR producer hanging out here with us tonight James Bocelli will what are your thoughts on Jan is being honest.

I lean towards not a big deal if Anna box fan. I think first, second, and might annoy me.

Just because it's so local in such a close team arrival team where I don't want to hear that right. I think you I think I agree with you what you're saying. The fact that he is saying it out loud. The fact that he's just being honest.

I think if he really had these feelings he wouldn't say that doesn't seem likely, he would keep it aside, and, like work on an angle together rather than just be all yeah you know I like the bowls so I don't think it's really as much to end-users being honest thing. Edibles are a classic French is, of course, it would all five.

The Bulls fan I don't love it now believes gonna go out there and put up 3015 a number to get over it since it's no big deal. Some months me. I think around the All-Star break time and this is a different situation now in charge of the New York Yankees. We know famously that he turned down the Yankees offer in these day. I think they want to pay him $30 million a year in the Mike Trout I think is making about 36 know his own teammate.

Caracole is making 36 I think Trout might be in the same space, then our judges like normal. Thank you and what is he doing having an MVP type season a couple weeks ago a reporter asked Alan Judge just like a is a big Yankee fan out there. My cousin is something is a big Yankee fan. What would you say to them if if you would leave an error in judgment. Just like there the other Yankees like yours favorite Yankee what would you say if you left while this other Yankees and a people who had a bit about that site what what what you want, just to say at this point he is set for years how much he wants to be a Yankee how much he wants to stay in the Bronx and he didn't like the deal that they offered and he felt that they were was lower than what he thought he would bring to the team. It's all he said no, what the hell else is that asking if the Yankees can come back with an offer then he'll stick around if they treat them like crap that I mean dammit he could want to be a Yankee and if he leaves soft. I think it be a massive disaster for the Yankees. If he did so, I mean Dan Nathan, the scholar from Wisconsin your CBS sports radio is going great and what's up you trying like you said users being transparent here is that you have to be a market blocks for life. I don't think it's a big deal. And yes, he was right to say about the box legacy. I mean the legacy my thought, my bad. Yeah there's a lot of history with the bowls when he had Rodman Jordan have been a man all big names, but I love what you doing for the same Wisconsin use. He's been he's been big on if everything that sees he's contributed to me what will can you be mad about this is not like not like Kevin Durand, I might as well tell you damn so the latest rumor today with Kevin Durand is, it was reported that if he is not traded by Brooklyn that Kevin Durant would consider retirement. That was the latest rumor. I believe that came via Mark Stein and so wanted Kevin to rent due what he typically does.

Kevin Durant went to twitter and he said this quote I know most people will believe unnamed sources over me, but if it's anyone out there that'll listen. I don't plan on retiring anytime soon.

Blank is comical at this point, and Kevin Durant made that statement and then he continued to respond to fans of band called him a hypocrite for not answering all of the other rumors like him wanting the general manager and coach fired but I guess that's not a rumor that that can be fact we saw the owner of the Nets tell everybody I'm standing by my coach and GM and being called a hypocrite, Kevin Durant addressed random fan and said you don't know what hypocrite is he just continued to tell another fan that he needs a break. It's summertime, you know, the cold someone doesn't like him. His biggest fan so you just the thing is, Kevin Durant doesn't care. He just marches to the beat of his own draw many just as a crybaby. At this point, crybaby. I like the guy I do.

I love watching him play but just that that the trauma at this point it's just on bearable. He's making himself out to be a great villain, a 7 foot silky jump shot shoot them on at this point I want the Brooklyn Nets to just turn this into a circus. I want the Brooklyn Nets the sale you will not trade in a minute going to take a hit. They already going to take a hit. They have taken it. I guess if you Joe saw just just hold tight. At this point, Tony's call from Baltimore your CBS sports radio log. I was going all, I'm very well going Mike on the low bid not talk about you and I agree with Janik know that Lee continued to work with client to get another lane, you know, it's like no homophile but I don't think big old comment like you really, really, what I like about love three Kari Irving Lee good all my God, that you are not will be that on-screen PV cold Creek to hold dad well I could tell you this much. Kevin Durant might not retire but if for whatever reason I don't think it will happen, but of Russell Westbrook ended up on the Nets out. I don't think you see Durrant pick up a ball really at that like I'll load like you know you not going to state going to state a pretty big one on the Sony pool and spa themselves. Who does that.

Nobody without that particular support UK you don't want to work with the people that you may not like I will sound like like me, clear, and I well look again, talk like that go by. Why, you can demand a lot many things that you well.

I think at this point.

Thank you Tony for call from Baltimore at this point of Durrant's career. There is no way let's let's build around me. That's what he had in an Oklahoma City not okay. He went to the team that beat him, but what a lot of people don't talk about or get into why did he leave. I mean, dammit.

How many more years of Russell Westbrook that we need to see not passing the ball and that would tell me that that would be absolutely hilarious if this man decided to just well if Russell Westbrook went to Brooklyn not happen, but I mean it be hilarious Tony for Marilyn.

Go ahead very well for little while but look at a loss of MGM and he walked out of Brooklyn just what we mean. Let them go that drama project trade made by you that you don't go to distraction one.

I thought I got it for you. It's only for call for Marilyn Gamble, why, why would a team want to take a moment he doesn't want to be there and is very few teams that would that would even make sense to me superstars not a lot of power man it's it's not that easy to share our sport preshow here with you. Will CBS sports radio. Speaking of superstars and goddesses not known when the shot opted difficult things Alex Rodriguez has advice for Fernando topsy's Junior and Fernando topsy's Junior his dad. He's talking to this assault drug thing. We'll talk about that on the other side your CBS sports radio
