With ratings on the decline, how much do you trust the media now. Sharon's most common call one 800-6843 11 that is right like you love your job. I will studio we're talking about some dear dear dark, which is the media and your consumption of that media is been an interesting year to say the least. Obviously coming off of a historic election year. In 2020 2021 I showed a lot of people decided to detox from media and a lot of people have good because I you part of the show. I go home.

It is not part of my daily routine.

Other nondiet letters of the big happening to flip on a lot of the evening news anymore.

You get a lot of your content from other places that there's a breaking news story with the passing of John Madden last. I guess I will push notifications came to my phone for that about a dozen so I think people are taking and content different ways and to set up this conversation. Let's just go down the list weekday primetime viewership of cable news CNN down 38% Fox News down 34% and MSNBC down 25%. So again, they may be held onto a little bit more of their audience of a broadcast news you have ABC world news tonight, down 12% CBS evening news down 12% NBC nightly news down 14th The margin of error. There's all about the same all lost about 10 to 15% on average of their normal viewership and look for broadcast it. We know the broadcast TV and cable cable broadcast TV doesn't even matter you win, where you either always good to be out drawing often a cable still. Still, you think in 2021. I was 20, 22, that would be the case but it's just true. We had the New York Times which down 34% of unique visitors compared to last November. Again little skewed to the November because of being is a very historic election time than 44% of November to November for the Washington Post.

I think this is where the margin what folks love. Your watching online 14 million political articles 2020 found they had average of 924 engagements on social media about the same metal articles now down to 321 engagements on social media, on average, so big difference it comes to the media landscape and we have a bunch of lines open. I want to know. Give us a call right now we are live, how you are consuming your media, how you're consuming your news media, particularly because we obscure live on Facebook are live on YouTube on rumble in similar places that people can get content now is it becoming less and less relevant to have your content available exclusively on one of these top level networks top-level television amateur radio sent radio we know how to decline because of you will behold not commuting. We know there's a big drama that we also saw a surge of podcast numbers so I want to hear from you. How you consume your media.

Have you changed, you take a year off. Did you decide to detox from news media. Could you just couldn't take it anymore maybe was a detriment to your life and allowed people that have been hurt lot families are Lotta marriages. Just because it is so such a split time, and I think you will see the rise. A lot of racing will like TVs but a lot of silly content rhino sometimes that's what people want, especially right now in the world seems like in crisis entertainment can be there to really help people out bendable entertainment is something that's very much taken over society.

Give us a call 1-800-684-3110 look. Last year we watched ACLJ more than ever, which was our campaign.

Now we will try to figure out 2022. What secular look like you did need us more than ever in 2021 because things were crazy. Things are still crazy 2022 will continue. More than ever. Campaign organ continue on. Also sing how we can adjust how we can change how to read the content you want in the way that you receive it, and I'm very curious are you no longer watch of these networks are you those people are usually Lucite. Now I'm always good to be there and maybe to you lost trust. I think for a lot of people.

It's that he lost trust what you're hearing is the truth, gives a call 1-800-684-3110. As always support the work of theaclj@aclj.org and for every donation with a be a big day yesterday.

For every donation may check your receipt you will get an exclusively are brand-new to parkour our series revenge. The Taliban available right now, the American Center for Law and Justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom. Protecting those who are persecuted for their faith. Uncovering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy and fighting to protect life reports and in Congress ACLJ would not be able to do any of this without your support for that. We are grateful. Now there's an opportunity for you to help in any way for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ's matching challenge for every dollar you donate $10 gift becomes 20 oh $50 gift becomes 100. This is a critical time for the ACLJ the work we simply would not occur without your generous take part in our matching challenge make a difference in the work we do. Protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms most important to you. You forgive today online ACLJ only one. A society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life. We created a free and powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called mission life will show you how you are personally support the publication includes a look at all major ACLJ Jesus were fighting for the rights of pro-life activists.

The ramifications of Roe V Wade, 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the abortion industry and what Obama care means to the prone life in many ways your membership is powering the right to question your free copy of mission life today online ACLJ/secular retake your calls with current landscape of media.

How you been consuming media last year as we see a pretty significant massive drop off now. A lot of this has to do with people consuming media different ways it may be that you're consuming the same or more media just on your phone instead of television or radio or maybe not paying for the New York Times subscription.

Thereby, the pay wall after you get that you read the second article for free. Sorry, I got a pay up.

You pay will you know about me just to track it with the June over there, they can have your money@six open calls. Let's go to pat his colleague in Texas online one that welcome all the people helped us what I don't.

There's not a bit of courage and said everything Strom said what he said a white background about nightmares on the stopwatch is just a white boy sometimes bites everybody's but were part of landscapes. I don't want to be like bashing the media in the sense of sight. Course there are people there are exceptions to the rule, but I do think well there's a lot of people who have that feeling and look in our packet we would do all the different stories that were true within were not true and that were censored in the switch in the last 24 months, even if not even longer than that.

Bless even the last year. That does give you a certain distrust on what you're hearing you know everyone even the ones that promote were not coming at you with an angle about the right and the left are coming at you with an egg well and if you look at what's happened over the last 24 months.

As we've had very big stories. Probably some of the biggest stories in our lifetime because there was a global pandemic and there was a very large Lee watched election in the United States.

Afghanistan and Afghanistan withdrawal but if you look at all of these things and the way that it was reported the way the 2020 election was reported. The way that things were reported as truth and you better not question it. When it comes to the way that the pandemic occurred and began there were so many things where the media wasn't even biased media anymore became activist media and if you were not believing or you were questioning what the media narrative was you all of a sudden were a conspiracy theorist, a liar, you were evil.

It became very aggressive. The rhetoric towards people when the entire purpose of journalism is to question the prevailing narrative that's that's the basis of it and when all of a sudden the media landscape changes from questioning those in power questioning authority to.

If you do question you are some sort of wacko out there, conspiracy theorist, then you no longer have media and journalism you have propaganda and activism yet I think even for people like our caller just called exile he watch it for the weather. It was crazy is that Fox just recently launched their own weather Channel because the weather Channel was becoming too politicized for conservative audiences. And that's just the truth that is my my wife is a certified weather forecaster it's largely debated how politicized the weather Channel website. Look, he went to the weather Channel website product. Oh, there is actually a lot of what you consider political hot topics that are covered on their website and covered under broadcasts, so even the weather, something we should all be pretty uniform they decided yes sir. Once at the top 4001 has the 10,000 got better models.

It was the other that but in general should be all like okay with it.

It's not something that's become ubiquitous clean-cut. There's no political angle to it. There is that's really a sad state that we are in. When it comes to media becomes hard to be a producer of media, whether that's entertainment media.

We produce or whether it is of this kind of media which would be for a lot of you in the news talk category, it is difficult because you want to appeal to your audience you want to give them what they want but when you see numbers like CNN, Fox, MSNBC down settings down conservative, liberal, moderate, it's just down people just have said enough lift on their heads there now will see what happens 2022. We know it's election season and rarely the litmus test will be in 2024. You always see a surge but during the Trump administration also will you brought this up in our meeting during the Trump administration.

It felt like we talked about this that we never left a election year right in terms of the way we broadcast the terms ever broadcast. Typically there's a heated 18 months of primaries to the election. The President comes and and not unlike Joe Biden. It would be different. It wasn't pandemic but none like Joe Biden it's not someone who's in your face every day and I don't know if we learn to live with the President that isn't in your face every day creating a media story that either the left love left hates in the right loves every day so we are kind of reverting back to maybe where people go yet that wasn't necessarily the healthy healthy thing to do right and when you look at the even the subscriptions to the New York Times into these outlets that were opposed to President Trump. They got a big boost in revenue in subscribers in eyeballs in the listeners across the board throughout the Trump presidency.

Now, a lot of it was because there were media manufactured crises happening left and right all the time to keep those numbers artificially inflated, but a lot of that does go to the fact that the media wasn't allowing themselves to get out of the election cycle when we hear about for four years 2016 election they never got away from 2016 and then when you couple that with the pandemic that happened last year in the middle of an election season. The stories were not typical. It wasn't a typical new cycle. It was on red alert all the time and now that it is coming down off of the election season throughout this year while you still have the pandemic. There is a fatigue in that type of news people aren't looking every single day to see the latest numbers on that, but it means it is very newsworthy.

It is pandemic so it's hard for the reporters to Messerli get away from that. Now that being said, it is good to be curious what happens next year in just a few days when we see an election year really ramp up where the spending from candidates is going to happen. The spending from the parties is going to happen and you're going to see big debates about big policy issues and really a rebuke of the first year and 1/2 two years of the Biden McGillivary of Singh where they put their money.

The advertisers are putting their money and in the big networks are they finding alternate sources either putting it in rubble.

I putting it in more different social media platforms that will take their money somewhat to politics.

But once it well. It will be interesting to see. That's maybe where the landscape you know the money goes to. Maybe you can find that little more detail based on where advertising money is even going to be spent. Let's go back to the phones of the awful bike returning as many as we can on during the show was at work to talking others also want to know if you decide to love you going on a watch of a more what do you do what you done when you replace that timeslot in your life with your family watching reality TV watching dancing with the stars. What you do.

I'm just curious behind what I'm doing. I want to get pretty much that mindless television.

If I go to bed after the kids Artie got to sleep. So let's go to Bill and Wyoming on line 5 Bill one second on the call.

I really don't like mainstream news anymore and I like about 99.9% of the time that I met ever really watch it is like for example when they have a disaster like what happened in Kentucky. But here's something for you to consider. What I would watch I have the other day I watched weather forecaster concerning Christmas and he forecasted that there will will have a brown Christmas is here woke up that morning and guess what, it was quite all over the place is to that's a good surprise of casters is, again, is one of my family that is when there is is that you weather prediction at the end of the day just really really good educated guesses, and other still, you never know if you have a big belt. I understand that you don't feel like is really a place you can turn.

I think a lot of people do I hide fibers of autopsy. There is a natural disaster or if there is a big breaking news story sure and we have it on here at the office studios 24 seven. But when at home unless it's something that is important enough to take me away from time of my family. I don't find myself doing it. I don't want to put that stress in my life and because like you said would like the passing of John Madden's very sad story.

It's sad you know he's a legend, but I was told 25 times before I could even reach for remote because the way I'm getting media on my phone differently where everything is coming directly to you as needed. So are you doing don't stone still coming for you. All right, let's really a minute here so I could take you more because the segment bargain reset talk a bit more about this through some of the stories look. It was the year 2020 and 20, 21, was also the year of the different moving media news outlets launching or not logic, but maybe having a bit more of steak in the game. Whether that was conservative side. Your Newsmax news nation. Oh, I interviewed and they shepherds of the middle or OAM and then you had the other side of see the rise of podcast much more extreme in 2020 2021 than ever before. Joe Rogan said making his deals with modifying everything that sort of happening.

Changing the way that you get information, we will make sure that were obviously on the front end of anything the topic which are really cutting edge of whatever's happening. Media make sure we are there. The ACLJ could do that only your support to support the work of the ACL to go to ACLJ.org right now will be right back only one. A society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life. We've created a free and powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn is called mission will show you how you personally and publication includes a look at all major ACLJ Jesus were fighting for the rights of pro-life activists ramifications. 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in the abortion industry and what Obama care means to discover the many ways your membership is empowering the right question free copy of mission life today online ACLJ/the American Center for Law and Justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom. Protecting those who are persecuted for their faith. Uncovering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy fighting to protect life in the courts and in Congress ACLJ would not be able to do any of this without your support for that. We are grateful. Now there's an opportunity for you to help me away for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ's matching challenge for every dollar you donate $10 gift becomes 20 oh $50 gift becomes 100. This is a critical time for the ACLJ the work we simply would not occur without your generous take part in our matching challenge make a difference in protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms most important to you today online ACLJ we are taking a lot of your phone calls today.

Just about the year here wrapping up our year end numbers are coming through about the media changes in in the change of viewership and listenership readership severe top names in media like boxing and MSNBC, New York Times, the nightly news and we know it. The ACLJ and what was done with this broadcasting always try to be on the cutting edge of what's happening.

We are one of the first shows to go fully fly when it was back in periscope days we were one of the first people launching Facebook live broadcast every day I would had podcast for years we been on radio for 25+ years, we will make sure we are, where you will and we are getting the voice in the messaging out in different and unique ways. We've done that with our social media team of the broadcast team. We can work together, videos, films, just watch the new series revenge of the Taliban, which is available now. Can we just at any donation on a website and link to watch it.

The 10 part four hour series and a lot of people are creating content like we are, but will make sure there wherever you are. The cutting edge of all all media in terms of media consumption and takes more phone calls will keep this conversation going. Mike is calling Texas on line 6 Mike go ahead hi how you doing doing well. Harry yeah I don't watch like on Sunday and I look forward to face the nation and the lid on ABC but there's so tilted now and and commercialize to the breaker commercials when there could be no advance that the topic that drawn they really need it to talk more about it but get such fake news and tilted the board democratic side.

It's so sick and really listen you guys 100.7 FM word, twice yeah like to see you're still see this is the thing. There are certain broadcast immersing those people you know in the comments listing who they do still listen to a lot of the turnoff as is the news people can get over people's opinion because we understand that Hannity Tucker Maddow, and even somewhat like an Anderson Cooper are Don lemon are are you, what was Chris, you kind of understand when you turn those on you know you're getting that person's opinion. 20.

We've been okay with that, we see the numbers drop where I think people have really lost the trust of the people who who show themselves as the straight news man is given to exactly how it is doesn't really exist well in into our color.

Mike's point that he so tired of them pushing an agenda when there purporting to be a new source and we always have fun when you and I host to bring up our favorite commentator on the media. This is Brian Stelter who is ironically titled show reliable sources comes on on Sundays on CNN when they were having this kind of similar conversation about the news getting things right and when it's not right and had a guest on their talking about, you know they're intense to get it right, but I think his response to his guests intent to get it right and when we get it wrong.

It's embarrassing, shows how blinded people in these elite media sources actually are to what their doing and the way people view them what's going played by three because I think it's really interesting take on what he sees as them doing our part to get it right and to get it first. When mistakes are made by functioning very embarrassing but it's almost always in a center-right, especially these days of the pandemic and people work in different places for editors in four different places and then a typo ends up in a story and just because of the crazy workflow so sure people are upset about is a type of the story because of the workflow issues not I don't know calling people crazy conspiracy theorist for thinking.

Potentially, this is a virus leaked out of the lab and then oh years later wound you know and maybe it dad and these people were no longer going to label this is fake news on Facebook because it could. That's where he doesn't get what people are upset about and let me embarrass them get what he actually knows this is not a a unintelligent person to someone who understands that the media landscape and that sure, that may not be why people are tuning in to watch you but if you look at that from a straight point of view. People are not completely as if there was a lot of typos I probably be one of the people you yelp reviews say CNN what that money but talk about that.

It's almost always innocent Logan almost always innocent at its glitches cut people of changing the narrative. All we almost always and I get I'm not pointing a good or bad as CNN or Fox at this point I think there are people I know who work on both sides of that great people were doing great production you give it up for their production doing it nightly. It is not. This is not ill it easy. What I give up our crew here, doing a daily show is way different sourcing news than any other kind of broadcast media you ever seen a better part up so you can't deny the talents of a lot of these people I'm more interested in why people are turning off I think that's in where the going for a while. You saw entertainment shift a lot of different places, and entertainment audiences largely started going to news. So now we seeing like you said almost the correction and that we have to make sure that were always there creating content for you that maybe is more entertaining maybe you want entertainment content that he comes from the ACLJ's point of view. Maybe you don't necessarily just one daily commentary, and news and and talking at the work were doing amazing work around the world. By the way, if you don't check out our website ACLJ.org. You need to because the amount of daily incredible content to be posted and written some of the most brilliant minds in the country in the world even it's all there. ACLJ.org and again we tons of video series lecture subscribing on YouTube subscribing on rumble. This is great content is being produced by our team sometime some of the get seen by a lot of people sometimes.

Well, you know, YouTube, Facebook and kinda they can kinda scrunched down when they don't necessarily want you to hear it. Make sure that you are constantly checking our content on all our social media platforms Instagram where we are. When you're watching sharing it as well yeah you help get that into your friend speeds that may not be seeing it specifically because I didn't know that I'll talk on this yesterday well and I were on Facebook live right now there's over a thousand people watching live right now just on Facebook. I was like you had the million or so plus that are listening on radio yesterday when we went live. There was 4000 people watching. It's not like there was all that much more breaking news. It just depends on how it gets served to you.

So we have to be a little bit more careful of the more creative a little bit more curious on how to reach people differently. Now there are more calls, more cupboards in their work when the thousand people watching. So this is where it's a totally different world. As soon as we all accept that the sooner we can move on to bigger and better things. We limit have to take more calls to say is yet another half hour, if you are trying to listening on terrestrial radio while you lose this at the end of the first half hour. Well we do another half hour of the show.

It is a logical way to get that live right now. If you're watching live listening live you can get us right now on Facebook on YouTube on rumble. Also, if you don't what listening live and you're just in the first half hour. Sometimes it's delay in certain markets subscriber podcast watch it on YouTube. Later on, it's on Facebook all over.

If you can't find the show.

I will be shocked because it is on every platform you could possibly imagine that you possibly, but it is on every platform that is that you find your content so again were on Apple podcasts modify YouTube post on Instagram everywhere.

Make sure following liking, sharing, doing all the good work and of course we could do without work of people who not miss people here but hope will also do the work and support the work of the ACLJ is ACLJ.org in December. Very important but the most important month for all organizations like ours and we appreciate all the support given ACLJ.org for any sport go through the five dollar donation you can access the brand-new series revenge. The Taliban 10 part series. Some of the top names in the world discussing Afghanistan will be right back more, the American Center for Law and justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ matching challenge for every dollar you donate $10 gift becomes $20, $50 gift becomes 100 you can make a difference in the work we do. Protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms most to you and your family. Give a gift today online ACLJ keeping you informed and now is now your hose Logan Sekulow secular.

Give this is Logan Sekulow, but will hates the studio and we talked about the massive changing media landscape in the drop in the ratings and maybe it's due to trust. Maybe it's due to media fatigue about again. Let's roll down the CNN down. This is for 2021 down 38% Fox down 34% MSNBC down 25% broadcast news ABC world news tonight, down 12% really all those down 12 to 14% with NBC, CBS, ABC, the second thing that people watch this.

I don't know if I'd of the big three, which is your favorite.

I don't want any in today for historically historically.

I think I'm CBS News person okay I think so. I think I'm in NBC like today show Persia and now depends on what it is. 1/4 hour today, and that's about when I wake up and got on Hoda. Let's try to sleep but no those shows and then the New York Times and Washington Post taking massive hits 3444% down again compared to last November.

It's a little bit different because we are pricing them ourselves in terms of viewership engagements. I don't know if you remember last November. It was pretty chaotic in the engagement even doubt that this was one of the more interesting ones because we were discussing this will here with a thousand comets 300 shares whatever it is on our Facebook feed right now I'm just this show but they seem within the 14 million political articles are they serving 2020 than average about 924 engagements of social media about the same number. The next year only had about 321 engagements. On average I would RC outpace that's an intricately even today, so I think that's all of them.

It's like straight political news site that were page. Other talk about what's going on the world in general but we do have a lot of calls and a lot of you have a lot to say one line open at one 800 684 31 took me about two minutes off the same.

Let's take a quick call I is I know some people wait a long time would be in Florida online for thanks hold that half-hour. I appreciate it would be there on where they needed a beginning portion of the 700 club program and I get a little bad news, usually for weathertight on the ABC world news and then I also when I have issues close to my heart.

I checked in with the ACLJ and I've been listening to the radio on and off over the last 25 years preceding the last 25 years is been a honor to create this content be part of Craig's content every day for the last 25 years a thank you 700 club again. They have their own new service CBS News. They provide great content. TBN's got a new service. There a lot of people are trying this out and a lot of people are turning to alternatives. Whether that's the daily why the daily caller all the different websites and blogs and Drudge and they are consuming content generally. But it's interesting that even among statues. I still turn on the ABC to get my weather right. I think that support I think there is a place for local news. I think there's a place for what Skype said this with the election we always talk of Presidential elections up to date have the greater world impact beginning of all the what's actually going on in your hometown, your home city and no one was going our community relic. Some of those news the local news gets very sensationalized. We all know this. I whether that's the silliest stories or whether it's so drab that you can't watch it with your family. We know that that's what sells, but it is good to get involved in your local community. Maybe a make sure you join those Facebook groups that are for your neighborhood. Make sure your you're engaged in that because that's really what's important to you and your family right now. It's what happening in your neighborhood. So I was encouraged that there's a lot of people out there like sometimes and pretty entertaining. How many times to get a next door notification like I think I saw a wolf, but it might've been a coyote maybe a coyote or maybe just a dog that was the thin dog. The dog get a lot with coyote medium and I while Turkey the next Orap price plus I know it gets dark.

He slept that fireworks. I think I will be back with another segment of secular give us a call at 800-684-3110 working ACLJ ACLJ.Borg one share to tell me where your receiving your news what your favorite source. What's your least favorite source of the American Center for Law and Justice were engaged in critical issues at home and abroad. Whether it's defending religious freedom detecting those for their faith. Uncovering corruption in the Washington bureaucracy and fighting to protect life and commerce ACLJ would not be able to do any of this without your support for that.

We are grateful. Now there's an opportunity for you to help me way for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ's matching challenge for every dollar you donate $10 gift becomes 20 oh $50 gift becomes 100. This is a critical time for the ACLJ the work we simply would not occur without your generous heart wrenching challenge make a difference in protecting the constitutional and religious freedoms most important to you today online ACLJ only one. A society can agree that the most vulnerable invoice is, is there any hope for that culture to survive. And that's exactly what you are saying when you stand with the American Center for Law and Justice, defendant the right to life, we've created a free powerful publication offering a panoramic view of the ACLJ's battle for the unborn Gold mission will show you how you are personally and publication includes all major ACLJ Jesus were fighting for the rights of pro-life activists. The ramifications of weighing 40 years later Planned Parenthood's role in ministry and what Obama care means to discover the many ways your membership is empowering the right question for mission life today online ACLJ/6 and phone calls go to Bobby Scully, the New York online three calls from your today your contacts Bobby earlier hi Logan I will Niagara Falls New York.

I agree with that but I don't want straight news anymore.

There's a lot of good stuff out there. I I listen you guys five days a week. If I'm home on correct trust or terrestrial radio. I won't watch the up the mainstream networks ABC, CBS and NBC. I like Fox and friends very much. But I'm also big on I have to record every night without fail. I have to record Tucker Carlson because I think he still packed with information and I think he felt so smart and I'm also a big fan of thumb of Clay Travis and Buck Sexton took over for room for Rush Limbaugh Bobby like is junk you're into this man you are. You are the key leave you just listed off some of what great people's amazing people.

Some people on both sides of your you're consuming media allowed people to got a lot to glisten the show everyday people that are still the hard-core that are watching every day. So maybe what you're seeing and thank you Bobby. By the way that 38% to 34%. These are the people who who in 2020 were very engaged. Maybe they got burnt out, but also they just inmates be cyclical when they just go you know I tuned in only during things that I feel like this while a scholarship for that are important to the world and the alleged lust was the viewership so inflated because of the continued Presidential news cycle from 2016 for four years that it was a more drastic drop off when we kind of transitioned out of that phase, but another thing that that he brought up was that he doesn't listen to straight news anymore. He listens to conservative opinion and I think a lot of people are more open to opinion based news going forward. And they're tired of the quote unquote hard-hitting journalism straight news because it no longer even even the façade of non-bias in what's going on right now that is okay. It the facts that people would be reporting our Senate didn't vote today numbers go up here like it. It's all dire and it's all just facts you can get quickly from a bullet point sheet on a website that's like, here's the news you need to know something like that. You don't need an elongated pieces with people giving their reporting and having this journalist get a quote here because you really want to know people's opinions that share your ideology to some degree. And that's why thing. A lot of people have moved because I like what's my need for this and yeah I think the closest thing you could have maybe had to what became straight news coverage it did eventually turn sums of their political topic, but it did at least felt like it was being covered up pretty fairly by both sides was the Afghanistan withdrawal. That being chaos that wasn't one of those few moments in time. I felt like this is what the news was supposed to be right your reporting on what's happening what went wrong. What we did wrong that we did right. Everything is happening on the ground on in the minute felt very old-school CNN CNN international almost feeling, which I do like that kind of broadcast. I think that that has changed for people do want more opinion based on said they do the rating show that I know that's a good thing or not but I think you're right that the straight news doesn't really exist.

I think that's maybe the problem I had that for bird Brian Williams, Brian Williams went on a whole rant on his farewell speech about that, about how essentially he's not a Democrat, not a Republican and that's not what it was supposed to be his role now absent a Brian Williams has a problem and part of his problem was, leading to the mistrust of right of quote unquote unbiased news because of the scandal in his reporting background where things were not the way he was betraying them and I think that file is such a little scandal now compared to everything, narratively bite when you think about it, laying the framework for someone who sure he was a mainstream media journalist on a nightly news.

So that's going to last the last of that crew of even if you do there politically probably one where the other still felt like it was a script they were reading was here's the news Brian Williams the Peter Jennings L and then the old crew Tom Brokaw writing new with a car coming from. You didn't feel like you are getting, you know, it shoved down your throat. But then when his scandal came out which was stories he had reported on that were embellished, or elements that he used to tell the story that were just made up. Frankly, it it really started to break down kind of the last vestige of of trust in that style of broadcast I believe and I think that a lot of people are paying the consequences of mistakes like that when it such a high profile figured doing yet. Speaking of not trusting me as go to Jane in Texas again genuine holds 33 minutes.

I appreciate thank you. I don't mainstream media and a lot of people know they are, no doubt because they don't really report what is there not reporting that is alarming to me. I think what is the number one thing in the country in the world is infiltration at the border there some bad element coming to Third World is coming through and we were out a lot happier like if you want have anything quickly shut down because of the other dictated coming and I'm shocked at the home that everybody's not talking about I'm totally shocked.

The other thing is if I do listen to. Even if it the commercial. It is all propaganda for fear it spirit your character. Character fear and get worse get sick and you know we don't need that and not just propaganda for fear, and that's a whole another thing I'm the only person I absolutely adore because he says that I'm thinking is, Mark LeVan reported that he's spot on.

And I love him.

Joy Markowitz is certainly a commentary show certain right. We know his point of view, not exactly a quiet guy now so I get that people have their local markets and what they listen to and what they watch, but I do think there's a lot of people who found an obsession with news media to be detrimental to their lives. Detriment of the personal lives and you saw a massive change. I would say good percentage of those people tuned off are those people who do baby got so obsessed and so wrapped up in it. 2020. That would, 20, 21, rolled around in the election happened the riots have been in Cove.

It happened that they got to a breaking point where they could and now you saw a rise entertainment now you honestly have infiltration from the same people who are creating the news in your entertainment you have to make sure that there are subjects about there as well and we believe looked at various different ways we can expand even our entertainment portfolio in terms of how we create content here is we know there's also place people want to go have different points of view and not just getting a force-fed view seen the rise of stand-up comedy can sometimes last year stated company has been a place where people could at least go to hear various opinions and honestly we are trust where you had a Rogan or Chapelle or whether you had all of these other names that have risen in the last few years and stand up some silly some more hard-hitting it will provide you a diverse believe you're watching all of this. Maybe if you're watching like the one guy who called and I appreciate 25 years watches Tucker and reads this does all this Concerta based media maybe watch someone else for half an hour maybe check out what they're saying on the other side. Once you have a point. You can argue, but also so you can at least keep your own brain and balance in a check because both sides take it to the extreme, we have to accept that too. There is a sure I think there are people who do it better. The people I think are are more genuine and sincere on on both sides in a lease or tell you what they believe it.

We did interview on the ridge of Taliban where we talk to Tulsa Gabbert so the rank of Pres. Trump.

Some who now shows up on Fox news all the time I one of her big student talking points in that documentary is we are now just going be looking for people that not necessarily we agree with. But the lease we say we trust what you're saying is what you believe and are not just big force-fed a line you're not just telling us a party platform you're not just sticking up for what your party has forced you to do because that's what we see now will even in the Bible the ministration, which is a guy who the President of the United States, Joe Biden disagreeing with his own policy offhandedly right well little Pres. Trump many times, even to the point where you disagree with went against the what you consider the Republican national conventions. Typical pipeline because at least he was saying what he thought in you know with the Biden administration getting sort of the opposite you're getting the fringe having control over guy who was largely a moderate Democrat or 40 years and just in the last 10 or even less has flipped so hard-core that is media influence well into the caller's point as well that people don't trust the media because were what they aren't reporting on many times and even the border story when you hit something that is record-breaking and the left is blaming the prior President or the failures of this President that should be on the evening news the world news tonight. The nightly news and she's not getting the attention of people will turn it off because it is record-breaking all-time highs at the border. That should be a story that's being reported because it's a national story but it's not so once again, because it's not fitting the narrative is not getting reported.

The last segment of secular for the day.

We got a couple lines of 1-800-684-3110 I'll try to get to as many calls like in the spinal segment for joining us this conversation really enjoyed it interesting. Whether it's defending religious freedom. Protecting those for their faith covering correction in the Washington bureaucracy fighting to protect life reports and in Congress ACLJ would not be able to do any of this without your support for that. We are grateful. Now there's an opportunity for you to help me way for limited time you can participate in the ACLJ's matching challenge for every dollar you donate $10 gift becomes 20 $50 gift becomes 100. Talk about lack of content there's been no coverage whatsoever by any media about Russia and Ukraine, China and Taiwan, North Korea has disappeared from the map and I ran again no coverage whatsoever understand.

Vladimir Putin has made threats to NATO and United States. I get that from other sources but not the news media.

Why are we not being made aware of what's happening in the world well and Johnny. We cover that here on this program.

We have experts like Rick right now who is the former director of national intelligence and master to Germany and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who was also the director of the student Central intelligence. They both will be on tomorrow to talk about issues like that you get that kind of analysis and coverage here because of the support of the ACLJ that you're not getting in the mainstream media and many times because those topics don't garner the interest of people they see Taiwan and China. It's a really big story this is the world and I doesn't matter what we have those experts that can come on and break down why that's a national security issue for us in a way that they're not doing in the mainstream media in evening cable media they're not breaking it down that way. But if you listen to secular.

If you follow our content on the website on our social media platforms and if you support the ACLJ, especially in the matching challenge you're helping bring that content to the world and and frankly the work that is being done here is not being done by the mainstream media like we use the term mainstream media bears just the honest truth about it. One you think these numbers are clear up so there is a drop in ratings.

We know that even the way they obtain those ratings is a flawed old system that is talk about to take a small sample of people they extrapolate that by the millions. And that's how we know the rating system. It's been that way forever.

You know what's not flawed. A lot of the numbers we get here on social media we can actually see and give you exact numbers and how he were watching and listening. So a lot of people, especially in media right now.

Said who cares our show went from 5 million people to 2 million people. Because look at our social media numbers there's real numbers there.

There is real data.

People can all see and guess what our show here on secular. Not exactly what you consider mainstream media and the sins were not on every night on Fox, CNN, MSNBC or or on your broadcast television often is doing more very similar then a lot of the major broadcast that are on a bit uncertainly that are on some of the more second-tier network something to not try to be offensive to the mistress true beyond the. The big three that you have your Newsmax is a no answer and I see her doing more if not early similar, if not more uppity ties then your top mainstream media news journalists.

Whether that's your dog limit. Whether that's your any of these other shows.

Now some of your hand. It is these are doing three 4 million people a night to three 5 million, that's a different world becomes your impressions very similar depressions of the content we share may not be in the broadcasting what our broadcast content were creating in your seeing often has a much bigger impact in like I know a lot of you right now watching on your phones, your liberty like this. You're watching on your phone and I appreciate that you know what thousand people watching like this is way more impactful than 30,000 of you casually turning it on for five minutes and turning off.

I know you're engaged.

I appreciate that. Let's take some phone calls to wrap it up but try get all these really quick. Israel's calling you Connecticut line for go ahead.

I might have me on Michael.

No, I do have bought a statement is a personable I listen to ACLJ ratio daily – that may be Newsmax but there's a reason why. Not only do you guy speak the truth and I want to thank you for that you actually do something about it. I mean everybody else bicycle had a boat change was impossible to physically do something about.

I want to thank you I appreciate you guys what you work and I do have one comment with all the millions of coming up to the border and now that the coming into only see one thing.

Because of the mainstream media. They speak Spanish they speak.

The thing I would say I speak Spanish very well become. I speak to someone in Spanish and tell them what the ACLJ saying that they look at me as if I have, how can we help them what going on. They don't understand English language is a very interesting point. There is maybe that is somewhere we need to expand not saying that that's something that's that's a very reasonable reasonable request is happily provided in in LA Spanish I received it is spoken by a lot of people in our country. How can we reach a better I will reach your family are communities better. I think that's an excellent point, and I will take that consideration we had in 2022 really well, we've worked with a lot of different groups were available.

They were all over Europe were all over that. Maybe you're right in the oh I haven't thought about it to grade, and also we say we do the work I do appreciate that as well because not only do do work with incredible team here during the production you see the tape TV and radio show every day or every week.

Have you consume it, but we also have the legal staff we have the lawyers we have everyone administratively going out there and doing the work right were not just opinion news. We really loved it a political news talk radio station. If you will, or into a podcast for you, but when it comes to us actually doing the work that's because of you supporting the work of the ACLJ let's you and I just wanted to piggyback off that really quickly that if you get the emails of the ACLJ which I encourage everyone go to ACLJ.org and sign up for one from your brother Jordan went out this morning about persecution of Christians in Nigeria and were to have secretary of state Mike Pompeo on the show tomorrow to talk about it, but it even talks about action that Jordan took at the UN demanding protection for the Christians in Nigeria from persecution. So that's one of the ways were engaged in things that isn't really getting widely reported, so you should check that I look at Lori Arizona and Bernadette. I'm sorry were not really get to you today. Thanks for hold, but I can force her to get to Lori Arizona you're there, thanks for taking my call five I watched every day when you're on and I met why Chet I wanted on Ron ball and another thing is I think streamlining the capability of streaming has changed how we watch TV with the network and that is when thing is I can microphone news media like box and not have somebody on their and then by the time limit so I look at the podcast and if I want I want here that information I can watch their client Anytime six Lori streaming has changed everything is wrapping up about a minute left ivory sugar look for you to say my son is nine years old.

He doesn't show any difference in terms of what a legitimate sources for media from YouTube or and for some of that's on NBC and I think that's a good a lot of people, people say no, remove the gatekeepers not necessary.

More they find entertainment what they want to feel that same way with news media beautifying your waiting to get the media.

The content produced that you need from your sources. You don't need to be told this is who you have to listen to and that's why were here as well.
