Enjoy it, share it, but most of all, thank you for listening and choosing The Truth Podcast Network. This is the Truth Network welcome to another episode Q&A with today. Today, all the way from our friends up north north of the border open old Canada Jordan Clark welcome to the Q&A show will cool off very much.

Thank you Robert Redford. Well, come on, he is yet because I know we'll talk about that will talk about what you doing up there and in him in Calgary here, but yes, you say like we see Calgary down here little you pronounce a little different right wing worldly the right to work area out of the back and make it a re-brightly about people from outside will help you if they are from Cal Gary said no you're not.

You're from Calgary that's my Cal Gary anyway so well which it was a home, home of the heart foundation right this too hard to and curse you you you said you are a product of the dungeon for those who are familiar with the hard family right now I am all 1996 okay Thunderbird start so I had stretched by still… What time I drink I think probably get 8081 when I was still handling. It could still check it out. You can run away from it couldn't keep up with you that you could get a run for you to get away unity you are you have hands like vice grips like Jesus is tied up like in a pretzel.

As of right for all men. But my friend I met him I'm uniting that amid amateur wrestling tournament when I was a kid. He was given out battles or something.

I met him that I met Owen exit University of Calgary doing the same thing and so the first time I really get some conversation with them. We were up in the kitchen of the heart does not know if you're familiar with it, but it was an industrial sized kitchen like it was you did a commercial to their home and he had my buddy up and up against The cabinet, had sort of a reverse burst of the thread through one and had chanted my pals I stock and I was in the kitchen visual of that right and no further regulate like a recently interviewed Danny Warren is an organization organization. Think since 22,009 think Canadian Canadian wrestling elites and I was fortunate 2017 to do a 21 city to her and 20 days ago all across your beautiful country of Canada and and with Cal Gary being one of the stops. In fact, the night we we did our show there. I got to meet quite a number of the hard family because as Danny honored the heart family there that night at the show so was kind of yes kind of fun to meet them all. We did a drive-by didn't get to go into the house and indoor sealer or experience the dungeon, but I've heard many many stories where they all true Jordan all the stories true.

I think the hyperbole very out openly with exaggeration or hyperbole and then it kinda start digging into it realized that everyone felt the story and there is no deviation get what I mean Jacob.

Despite the perspective of people are telling me the exact same story it.

There must be crude like outside what it is like people wonder about the heart, family, I'll say like I don't care who you are. I don't care what you do, but what you grow up with a wrestling bear that lives under the front porch your house and you'll let ice cream drift on your toes store wrestling bear can like ice cream off your toes. You had a different upbringing than anyone else is okay.

So you are just making that up for you.

Those like a real story right that the 100% true story of the game when I heard it like to go see pictures of the wrestling bear and hear from a couple different family members think. Let's hope they do have a wrestling bear under the stairs that looked like oh my gosh this is classic this is this is incredible is so so so you okay I was sure to go from there. Wrestling bear so so okay but let this back up disrespected so your your born and raised up there. He got a family up there until Tellis tells a little about about about what I ruffled out about local hero. I broke that you know I feel that at Waco Texas and Gerlach. I walk Important great big I really loved my wife, which is kind of a rare thing.

Calgary is an oil oil city, so it's a lot like Las Vegas where it can go by with not a lot of people from Calgary. And yeah I have a fantastic daughter Grand Prairie and another one of the oil helper. So yeah man, are you going to do my thing will active arts technician by trade, so you know dinner at Hiram IQ directly critically money right so you see your career see you breaking your broking you breaking the stampede wrestling essentially in the how long how long was your wrestling career. You know little breaks here and there.

You don't burn out like that is I probably I started wrestling I started training and 96 and I have my very last match.

November 24 20 so I would put in between there.

I probably had five or six years where I was at rest. Probably 14 or 15 year probably. I try to do the math want to talk Russell, you know, like and schedule you up with Danny Warren want to think about Danny Warren if I could have over the sheer number of shows he run for promotion because that's how we broken them stampede I like our first tour with 10 shots and 11 night have nothing but respect for that. So yeah like you were quite but I kinda calculate up once.

I probably had about 1800 right guy is hard to calculate right like people asked me in on break I was able to break it down into one year in and where were ahead 454 matches in in just one year right and so yeah see you getting so so what I want to when I want to Danny Stewart fortunate I wasn't in the ring and putting the boots and tight son but nevertheless it was still grilling me 21 days in 21 cities and we covered 5500 miles. I don't know what that translates into into kilometers, but a lot you know that okay yeah I agree hundred and called so close, close to 10,000 km we can all by the way all over the road. By the way, there was no flying involved.

Then when I flew into Canada and then flew flew back home but a great experience.

None the last and one of my one of my favorite memories.

You're probably familiar that the town of Banff.

I guess how yes it hundred percent yeah one of my all-time favorite memories was Swiss we took for young guys up there we we got up there early labor kinda spend part of the day there in between Townsend and just had so much fun there and in the sea and seeing the city of Banff and so anyway so what what what would be just highlighted the quick highlighter to of of your career, what for our listeners.

What would you share probably I would say the heart couple for me, my highlights were I one that got into wrestling when titled something like that. I quickly got into practical limit wrestling directorate covered. What about when it felt good. I think we may be wrong. I should – it is difficult little differently but having said that, by was when I won the Commonwealth and heavyweight title from Broussard and, more important than the title from the cheetah was actually held that title previously people know the Calgary territory. They know the guys like Brett Hart and Owen Hart and Jim Davey boy Smith died like Kayden kinda somewhat less famous but look-alike is likely you know the great damage think the linear good held that title more than anything in the respect that came along with it was probably the highlight of my career and be able to carry or I think 400. Some people may want to go at the longest the most mounted championship date with. I felt back probably by big pilot.

That's awesome, congratulations on that.

That's think that's amazing. And I learned from Danny didn't realize that that Canada had had his enteric territories all across all across Canada right might much like the US in the early days of wrestling in the US before before the major organizations took over, but that so that was pretty amazing to me territory. Yeah, yeah, that's amazing, though that's amazing so well very good. I will address. Thank you for sharing sharing that we said about that. To hear that party your your story, so let's let's segue transition here and in give you the opportunity asked me a couple, three, four questions and and have some fun berated you that you absolutely fire away what your first question Jordan well know, one of the things we keep hearing and unite briefly before he came on that you don't watch it wrestling today that I try to keep up but ain't too much too much on TV for me to watch it all the fine car about three hours on Monday to watch it. But the one question I have I have for you know I don't the undertaker. I will probably last year in the last year and he talked about how maybe back in the day you got your date of the late late 70s early 80s.

The men were cavalier for lack of a better term, and you know there were guys that traveled with and he said it the way he said it almost romanticized, you know, I mean that the business was a little better off.

And I wondered if you do a Gilbert happen to see anybody fit with a gun in the locker room, whichever you look anything like that. A very unique list of the forks, but believe it or not I have an answer if it's the site, you will so really a couple guys can't come to mind Don Col. who you know he and an uncle my book launch a toy to write to you by the way, people asked militant like so was I so I just figured out you're not from Russia and like a good good good now and then there like liking for real like this just recently happened like within the Bureau of a week or two ago and I'm like okay and then the like will boom was. I really from Russia go well, nobody was closer than I was, because he was from Vancouver, Canada.

Will got it all right my gosh she was even from Russia, either ago nobody was much closer it's closer to the border there so anyway and by Dr. Noto who was Ivan's partner always packed but even better story I think is a guy by name of Buddy Lindell. You know that name you nature boy buddy land Dell. He was kinda kind of a flare spinoff and it kind of the way I view it but I'll never forget Jordan like he and I were riding to a town one time and where actually I remember going through Charlotte and and he was he was weaving in and out of traffic. I mean reckless in my view. Anyway, like I value my life okay especially in an automobile and he was reckless due to my I'm like dude likes like slowdown were not late. Would something in it and if if anyone knew Buddy Lindell is just kind of who Buddy Lindell was right.

He was just his kinda reckless and mild yeah and Anaheim like dude in the next thing I know he used his world were all good he goes. If anything happens. He reaches underneath his see him like we had to like put that thing down. Put that thing away. I mean somebody sees that. I don't even know what the laws are here in North Carolina.

You know the whole seal open carry all that kind of thing. I'm not even familiar with any of that unlike play. So here's the story here's the deal. That is the rest of the story we get to the town Russell. He gets me home and I made a decision right there and then I will never ride in a car again with Buddy Lindell behind the wheel is not right. All my gosh I'm like and he was in my view reckless while he was driving reckless right so anyway so so yeah, it was so yeah it was. I get it in on the course you know you hear the stories of a Harley race and and you, Dick Murdoch, the redneck Dick Murdoch in in and I mean some time off. Just like legit tough guys right and so yeah so why would go at it when you talk with the top guy in the way and I don't think it and I think that's a morbid talent society each generation in wrestling is a little bit softer than the last.

You know what I mean like going to the dungeon or the cup get the doctor and they were all really nice to get out the bacon, these guys would mimic that of art objects and TruthNetwork.com. I am excited to hear you do know well, maybe. Anyway Facebook all my new fan page. Fans and like and follow your listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Thank you Michael what I made it out of the dynamite on any sign might have made it out of old stew heart original Dodge right you know back in the day and I thought you know we we come down hard on the generations like each generation probably got a little easier said and I think your generation in the last generation that we really have to get to look after yourself. I think I would in this is certainly agree with that in and even though you think about my good friend Lex Luther and in his experience with the with.

Oh gosh, that the Japanese the names will no no no not not as mad to train him all what widest of my mind it anyway. I may come back to me but you know in Tampa and add he literally his his trainer like Little League Brokaw Cogan's leg in training camp because Hoke was goofing off and and I know it's just like a mama, and especially the Japanese right that me they think it's super serious right and so so Lex took it super serious because that's who he was trained by right so anyway, all that to say some of those different trainers Vern Gagne you know Brad rings you know you talked about Stu stretching guys know Brad rings would have got only in Jean Anderson. I mean they they guys want to bring into the NWA and they stretched guys right so anyways so why rent for every fourth house and there was a hole from one of the living rooms down into the dungeon and you had me down there. You can hear this. If you watch the shadows and other disk literatures on their own dropped an old tape recorder microphone down that whole and you can hear Stu make a grown man cried out. I have no dihedral message I want to say I am pretty sure that was Alexis train yet here is what we are. Added, seated, great question let let's let's roll on the got another one. Let's roll-on I do not get one putrid boy you like but you get a lot of walking quite differently give young people trying to break into what is that great question. I'll use my tour across Canada actually is part part of the answer that question because there were a lot of young guys on that tour and early early in the tour.

They were coming me going. Hey, did you watch my match would you know and they were very respectful and and very sincere in saying that any advice you have for me right in and you know there's 870 matches on the card of my guys, I can watch all the matches and remember all the matches you know if I had a notebook well like literally like the next night when a young guys brought me a notebook and an ink pen you like. Make notes like shirt and so II did and here's what I said no, no Jordan I said I said I could probably give you. I should give you some advice. But understand this, I came, I was train up old school by Ivan Cola Dr. Noto Dusty Rhodes other guys so the advice I give you, I what I'm seeing the product you're you're putting on what you're doing in the ring I got my brain can't keep up with. I go I go so I go I can give you some advice if you listen to it and who knew no will will will do will do it. I'm like okay okay so that the best piece of advice I gave them was was more receiving less equals more right less equals more they just kinda looked at me and I guys you want to do 100 moves and in 37 seconds and nobody in that artist can can compute what you just did I go out I worked a headlock for for three minutes and do nothing else but a headlock and and and draw the fan into the story and so here's my advice is so I share it and I will say to their credit couple three forum I give up my advice that actually go out the next night and actually do it and come back and say they look really go all that really worked up with public hello that's what the business was founded on. You know way back when, so now I want to get to work at 200 year you need to build a work headlock for three minutes tonight that went there like that like they left with more less equals more man is so slow it down. Let the fans actually register what what it is you're doing and and don't let them dictate the match to you.

Your objective should be to dictate the match to them now. On that note I'll say this will we got time for one more question for you. Sure it is on that note. Obviously the business is changed over the years and and many these guys don't have the luxury of of calling their own match or hotel in their own story right is maybe maybe some do before the way I understand it, because I don't watch a lot of the new product is you know between writers and even interviews. I mean 100% of my interviews were spontaneous.

No scripts. None, zero, zip 100% spontaneous and I would say 95, 96% of my matches were were spontaneous improv done in the ring very little communication prior to a match and so different business, but hopefully some of those guys get that opportunity and I'll say this to your right. I do agree that some of the guys you know wouldn't of would've made opening Bell you know in in in our era, so, great question. I segued my third question what work is going to do it any night and I kind of think you did that well. Then again, kudos to those I'm not taking away anything from the guys to I want to get that politically and creatively are low-level like I don't think I could've achieved all of yes well and in so I would say to the guys in the ring in today's in today's era is certainly taking nothing away from their athletic ability, and inferred their performance and what they're doing in the ring at all. Taking nothing away from that.

You know could get endeavors come full circle back and I think they push the envelope far enough that that that no I don't I don't think it could so it's a different product in attic certainly has a faint yellow fan following. But I'll say this tonight. I've just recently had this discussion.

Somebody asked me recently that you ever think you know 40. Like almost like LULAC 40+ years later, 40 years later you be traveling around doing these autograph signings and people would be coming out of the woodwork to get your autograph to get a picture with you at all. If the short answer is no, no, no, never in a million years did I ever feel you know. Would there be such a demand for for the quote legends of wrestling and what many of term the golden era of wrestling. What would we have this kind of appeal to the fans of kudos to all you fans out there that fell in love with wrestling at whatever age and and whatever whatever period of time you you from current day product to all the way back. Kudos to all of you for your support. Like for real IQ. You know I'm just appreciative of that. So Mike fired. No luck just on a dinner at a banquet in Charlotte is called the gathering and they they honor me at a banquet that night and and I said you know what I'm probably up here because of all of you mean you got to sit at the table with eight fans and share some's personal stories and passive if not for you, the fan I would have not have had a career and certainly all these years later be able to again go out in it in the Jordan, the fact that something still lots of my signature and then Sierra or a picture with me and and is even you willing to pay for that just blows me away.

I'm so honored and grateful and just feel so blessed to be able to have that opportunity. So animated guys like you around gracious man so respectful to the business and all the people in it and I really truly believe our fortunate to have my bike. Well, I appreciate appreciate your time today. I certainly appreciate the quest is in and out and it just excited I was mad I didn't know that parts knows some of some your story some excise excited out there to hear some your story Jordan appreciate appreciate you being on the show today all man I appreciate you having me on my mobile bike data like that what what I've got it out of the picture will likely shoot well Jordan Clark you and I would call off great.
