Duncan just first a little bit on your family and know you're down in the great state of Texas in the United States that everything's bigger in Texas right that the expression manipulative yet, but is everything's going potentially including the pride right like that, that's good to get back up your your family and kind a little bit of your history for young my wife and I relent both of us were were born and raised right here in Texas.

Both born in the things that impact your work.

Texas what we live most of our ally and we were matter-of-factly were born in the same hospital. Next, talk about how the document crazy right crazy beginning both the morning. All of them got saved in a domino revival and had formed a Christian band and drama ministry on and that were ahead on the road and and preach Jesus and I did all of that and I hadn't seen them in a while and I went to knock on the apartment door.

After doing a show and not doing Hamlet at the time I was on my my goal without going to run off and become a big blockbuster Hollywood motion picture star that would get to be my thing and I walked in to a prayer meeting not domino. Nobody answered and then and finally did walk into nobody with Anne Frank and literally walk right into a prayer meeting on the male parental are they did not even come in. They were in court. I'm watching all of that all of my formerly unsaved, even Brandon. They are praying till the cows come home and just the power and presence of God was so strong in that room, i.e. it was a it was the first Corinthian 14 moment where in the Scripture says you know if you all come together and you prophesied that you read the thought of a person's heart yelling that person was they have accrued God is in this place and I've never sent anything like that. This awesome present in this room and I was powerfully convicted before they'd even finished praying I was. I was literally on my face with my head in the carpet just hand over my head just going what is this one of my sensing and feeling quickly finished praying they see that I'm I'm there and just you know why I like a deer in the headlights began to testify in and tell me about their experience with Jesus and what they were going to do and they played this amazing set of music with lyrics like I've never heard of which is packed full of Scripture Psalms and Proverbs, you name it and that later that night they they share Jesus with me and I have saved on April 13. Sitting in the back of my friends pickup truck a little after midnight and the that was that was my my, give this course. Elana grew up in the when I got married I 1993 and two beautiful girls and raised them. Knowing the Lord and both of them are successful. There are youngest is a special education teacher here and then our oldest is a speech language pathologist with the Baylor Scott and White network and we couldn't be proud or examined. What what was on me was something already stirring inside of you were running you know what what what Leah knock on that door. What led to that moment yeah so the lead up to that moment was was really, really powerful Maya. My only real strong Christian influence. Growing up had been my my my my maternal grandmother and she was a matriarch of the face. She was like a little Sarah and her family operating a crying grandma. I'm telling you man your praying grandma. Grandma might do better. As I looked around already reeling yet and so that was my influence.

Growing up bike. Other than that nothing else really, but my last year there and community college got really doing a stop at work. You can look back and always see those things right and I remember signing up for classes that semester. For example, and the bad union which were there, cannot little Gideon pocket New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs and you number those that I and if things continue to soar out of control in my own life and my parents were divorcing all kind of turmoil in my personal life and I'm trying to find my way and I remember one night just sitting there in my apartment and picking up that little pocket Bible and I just started coming through it and looking at birth. As you may have a little index there in the back. Talk about depression versus non-anxiety versus non-year and stuff like that and I started reading the Psalms that way and God started a little work on on me that way. And the next thing you knew I was popping up in prayer here and there and just call and now you know God are you there and what really what really triggered it were two things one there were some Christians in my life that were fellow college college feet and a new one. For example, what you know and by meter we get there with a show or something would sit down and talk and you and she would play Christian music and just let me listen to it and want to listen to the song. Tell me what you think I want to listen to this song and I had some people like that the war selling some seeds and the other thing was is one night after after doing a show I was heading to bed. I was just thinking a lot about God a lot about eternity and you know my future and what I mean and what I really saw was just just do a doomed future and I know by my bed and I set a very simple press and got I believe that you there I met a fact I would have.

I believe that she always existed and I believe that there's a heaven. I believe there's a help. I believe in going to the latter, but I have one question. Who is this Jesus, I hear friends talk about this Jesus and they say your son and I don't I don't even know what that means and I just happen. You have a son.

Understand that and amen and I went to bed and I had a dream that night and in my dream I saw the rapture of the church.

It was one of the most powerful and visceral moments that I've ever experienced. I and I Saw Literally Grapevine Hwy., Highway 26, which is place right over here still to this day, I saw that place and I saw a mixmaster ice all the think of anything there yet that are now there now. I saw structures and and buildings in place that are there. Years later, and this this horrible, apocalyptic situation, and I was standing on this bridge at my hands in the air and was turning around slowly in this counterclockwise manner, and I was speaking words and I could not hear what those words were, but people were stopping and they were coming towards me and they will listen and I remember all of a sudden in this dream there was a shout and it was a shout penetrated every fiber of being years later reading the Scripture course on reading first Thessalonians chapter 4 and that was the step of the voice of the archangel right was the shout of the of the archangel that I heard in that dream and that shout pierces the ear piercings are being and and I remember looking up and everybody stopping and looking up. There were thousands and thousands of people as far as the eye could see cars stacked up just in in traffic and in no places that were burning. It was in this very apocalyptic scenario and everybody looked up in the sky and all of a sudden the clouds "backward like a grand drape and Jesus was standing there in the clouds and he had his hands down towards his side. He lifted his arms up and as he did this beautiful light emanating from him and I watched all these people that I've been talking to you watch this light touch them and they started rising into the sky, literally coming off the ground, heading up into the sky to meet and last thing I remember in this dream was with this light feeling like the slightest touch the top of my head yes is languishing with bring down body people close will becoming white beautiful white linen. Their faces were glowing and so for the last thing a member in this dream was rising up and this sense of of of this revelation just dawning on me, Jesus is the son of God. I hadn't seen my friends in a while. Hadn't seen Jeremy ending Robert.

Some of these guys and that I knew that Jeremy girlfriend had an apartment nearby and they always went there all the time. That was just that was the whole connection there. Walked over there, walk up to the door. I hear all this commotion going on inside. I'm thinking to myself things are so noisy they can't not and so they didn't know I was coming that night. I didn't know what I was headed into course what Jesus did things in our dance during inside you so yeah there was a deep stirring and I II knew in that moment you know what really you would talk about sealing the deal innocent. What were those words that you are but what somebody said really broke your heart. The gospel I remember a friend of mine Michael Shea green sitting in the truck next to me were all sitting you know him the midnight hours and the fact that the bed of the pickup truck is my printer sharing testimony talk about my friend Shea green reached over and grabbed my hand man. This was a scrawny kid I've known since junior high probably wait up buck I would let you know some of them, all the seasons you've been running with earlier lines. Yet he reached over and grabbed my hand and when he grabbed me just as powerful grip look at me. When you look at me whenever within him was staring through me was Holy Spirit. Of course, and but he looked at me and he said Duncan held up my hand from her face.

He said you could never hold hands with anybody better than Jesus loves you. He he allowed his body to be broken for your sins. His hands were pierced for everything you ever committed.

Having he just elated on me and he's he said you'll never hold hands with anybody better than him and he loved a blade.

He blatantly died for you and those words literally.

Just snapped pierced your heart my heart my whole heart and I literally just collapsed in the middle of this. This pickup truck weeping and I wept so hard so uncontrollably that they began to lay a hand on me and just pray the sinners prayer. All I could do was just agree I'm literally just crying and nodding while just with all that I am and again is April 13, 1991 a look at the next day and my whole world was different. I my friend bought me a little discipleship booklet from the navigators. I devoured that saying anything that had the name of Jesus on it reading it well. I will be worth people were everything that well and me that soon powerful testimony and in the dream I just the dream is so vivid in and what's what's what's really for me. What's cool about that dream.

Duncan is that that dream that you had that vivid dream will one day become a reality, just read the Scriptures.

Couple things I want to comment on is your assurance of your story. Talked about reading scriptures and reading the Bible and God, you know, anxiety, depression, and I was reminded of you know like you and I want us to share this with our our listeners are many.

You know the Bible does. I say it often have every answer. I mean if you're upset. Go read the book of John chapter 14 amine of your week will read Psalm 18 one through 29. If you're lonely will read Psalm 23 of you if you if you file find yourself wallowing in sin. Go read Psalm 51 worried. Go read Matthew 18 to 30 no. 31 if you're anxious. Philippians chapter 4 unhappy collages in danger. Psalm 91 depressed. Psalm 27 lack of faith. Exodus 14 the encouraging Joshua one need direction.

Psalm 73 verses 21 through 26. There's just a few references of some of the answers. The Bible can give.

Her friend got sick and so we just relented me going to the Bible study okay with the coffee after work and struck up an amazing friendship and eventually she asked me I've been thinking here. By this point and yet me to start discipling her because she said you know more Scripture than most the people that I've known my entire life and no one we started just this this thing that eventually became a courtship started as an amazing friendship and discipleship and we just grew in Christ together and then eventually got together while it well and for those listening out there and enlisting land.

I know anyone else that really knows the word and in Scriptures and I don't just mean know what I mean you know the address right, a reference to what what's in you know what's in Samuel 71 Samuel 1729 and you and you and you have the ability to just here, you know, share that and but but let before we get there is again I want to talk about your your your new Blockton, but one the acting so so you go to college for acting your vision is to be the next big Hollywood star in, so there's I always get a job, try to think of where where can I okay don't don't go to Emily you don't don't don't let it out of the bag on that. What I want to keep our listeners hanging here little bit you mention Hamlet back as I have fun with with that when the people would never, never realized as even as or listening to your voice now what you've does some of the voiceovers you've done but tell us some of the stage plays.

We got a few minutes left in this segment to tell us a few of the stage plays besides Hamlet that you've been a part of Mercy gave first of all, Shakespeare was something that I just immediately took two and got pretty much did everything Shakespeare Juliet taming of the shrew the Tempest onward, and so forth.

I decide I love that there was something about the language that that King James language that I immediately identified with it resonated with that poet inside of me I guess.

And you'll I knew that I that I have this propensity to act that your something my mom and help me discover it child, I did talent shows. I would do. I learned memorized entire Bill Cosby album the kid and I would you stand up routines for people in and going in and compete locally in stop and appear on elevation or stuff like that. It came up for going my grandmother when she began to get her retirement phase of her life, and so forth, she would go and she would predict senior homes and so forth and and take me along and I would end up in entertaining Bible study for lower accommodation that together with the long litany of of that, the family entertainer, and so forth and so when I did decided that's what I was going to do. I went all in. Of course I don't know any other speed. You know I have that I stop and I have go with what I have and I was in the study. Everything I study anything past that I studied stage combat Shakespeare method acting in and so forth and so I becomes triple threat. I could mean I can dance I can do all of this and at the same time as I'm reaching literally. I was reaching the peak of my talent. I was at the top of my game.

I had one. All of these awards.

All of the accolades in the department where I was at best actor best supporting actor best actor in a bit will most likely to fix all this stuff and there was still this knowing empty place inside of me and that that question that stood still stood there was business. I knew that I could go to Hollywood and become this blockbuster star but I was still going to feel it empty and dead inside. As I did despite the fact that here I am in the people by this kind of big measure of success or whatever I write big Hollywood star whatever yeah and I decide I'm I remember I remember that that's what really drove me deeper into into the journey of seeking God in and searching him out out there and searching for something more.

Yeah, I got to be.

There's got to be more right wet wet think analytically that he felt that he has placed eternity. What in the hearts of men and there was that God shaped void was inside of me and I and I had I had tried to fill it with everything. Generally I had had I had slept around. I've tried alcohol.

I've tried drug. I all of these things and nothing until the well and I can relate to that working in it. We gotta bring you back for part two we having got your book. Yet we haven't gotten that I know how we met. We have to bring back for part two.

But I wanted to include the show by saying this is what you just said people will fill it in with try to fill in that void that that empty space that empty place with with all kinds of things others sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll, whatever it is right and and and I can that resonates with me Duncan in and that many of my wrestling peers and friends and myself.
