Welcome back to another edition of the show with the devil's nightmare. We are building God's kingdom in storming the gates of hell is such a joy to have this man in the studio with me today I would say he needs no introduction but I would give them an introduction. Nevertheless, Rocky Wegner, dear friend of mine many many many years in the Rocky walking to the amount of show.

I'm glad to be here to keep a flood well and adhere the tagline as is time to man up and your you personify that tagline. Rocky what I mean by that is, you have such a phenomenal story. I had to bring you back in the studio to share some of not only your story, but other stories that that you experienced it on starting with a something that's not typical and that is you came to the to the faith. At age 62 them all right yes sir, 862 which which is not typical.

I mean, you know, we've heard the stories of the older somebody gets the more hardened their heart maybe gets the more jaded people get and so it's it's it's hard and as an evangelist. Objects by witness that firsthand. You know, I just up. I ministered not long ago on on Sunday night revival service at a slow 1314 your girl Rocky that came up after service and they said she has something she wants to tell you it was obvious she had been crying and as she said I give my heart to Jesus tonight because you're preaching to God be the glory right it's it's the Holy Spirit is Lord drawing. She was noticeably touched her heart was touched. She searching for teams old so you're 62 years old and and give our listeners just a quick synopsis of what brought you to that point of age 62. Because we may have some others out there, 50, 60, 70 yet to surrender their life to Jesus. What brought you to that point decision, the Key Largo, but the one I gave my testimony after my mom. She's nine years old today. When I got saved, you know she sheet pride for all of us. There were five of us children, but she she prayed for. She constantly prayed for us from the time we were born and it's almost like dedicate and child at church when they're young Loretta's hand only from the get go out this straddle the fence, all the years I've been in church or whatever Thompson artist you know group Derek Annapolis and what you know, just friends and we we had places it would go and hang out things like that but I always knew that my dad told me one time Lisa Rocky if you do something wrong you you you you know you're doing it before you do it you just know in your heart what's right what's wrong and I'll straddle the fence for a long time.

Nikita been in church like a said in an out and there were several times when I had a chance to go to the altar, not just turn my back on Jesus and I just didn't live right. For the longest time and finally it with sin. When everything in my world work Roman. I just heard a voice or the Holy Spirit or the Lord was Dale Mayer ever how you want to say it but that particular day on 723 of 17 the Lord said rock if you don't come to me today. I'm done with you and at that point. This I did not have enough of the life that I was living in playing games with the Lord and when I accepted Christ that day and when that Holy Spirit went out you not to play ball, said Leica errors on going through your heart on the rod. Then it was it was no doubt about it. I knew exactly what happened and that I'd gotten saved and from that time on my whole life been different.

I can hardly believe I was the same way it went well. We can talk about that and which you bring up it. It just illustrates just how you.I've known you for years prep prior to that decision at age 62 and I and I would say we have conversations you and I would like to travel for business or just in the in the truck together doing some things you know over the years at would you let if somebody had asked you prior to 60 tonight. I know you see, straddle the fence been in and out of church. What you have said and some is said to you prior to that decision at age 52 Rocky are you a Christian. But what would your answer probably would've said something like you believe in Jesus or something that a fight right but if so, my little point-blank asked me if I was saved I probably would've told no right right because in and out is what I want the listeners understand that there's the others there's people that straddle the fence, there's people that that are in and out of church, yes, will it was like this right here when we were doing when I first met you and I was hanging around with some of your friends Martie Cox comes in my is a good friend of my mother fight him in my sons in business together. Now, my skin great family but I was hanging around with you guys.

I was I was pretending to be somebody. What I would leave these meetings of these places would go and then I'd be back to the same old you know things that I did. It always did, and how and when I say I was straddling for someone straddle the fence because I was playing games and I knew in my heart that maybe I go to church and when I got out of church.

I acted different Monday to Saturday but not going to church and I be you know, church, guy or whatever, but the spirit and in the week without. I have no did bear no fruit student didn't you know just said what I want to say did what I want to do and there.

There were there was no change there were no heart change I got a feeling Rocky and and I think as others are listening to the story, perhaps.

Or maybe some conviction coming up on some listeners and and/or others who can identify witnessing couple words use the word pretend and the word popped in my mind as you were saying I going to church on Sunday and the word façade. He said playing the game, and I'm guessing I'm guessing there's others out there that either have done the same thing Rocky or or even right now are doing that very thing. I reminded quick story reminded of my uncle. My father shared with me what time I never met my uncle. He grew up in Nebraska inhibitors.

His brother grew up in church and his brother, my uncle worked on a golf course in high school into your point yet he turned his back on Christianity because of the hypocrisy of the double standard of seeing the deacons and elders act the way they acted on Sunday morning were in church on Sunday but how they acted out on the golf course during the week. Even on the weekend right in and he said that's Christianity I want you and when you have that arrow that Holy Spirit pierce your heart like you experience just everything changes. Like you said doesn't it absolutely does. You are told some folks just the other day we were talking and I said you might and you you might know of, like me, you know, five tenure ago I called BC Christ in its and and and and so my buddies at church lately. You know I'm telling stories about the way I used to be nice. They just can't believe I said you know you it's hard for me to believe you're telling me the East Bay at a certain way, but I was ins but when you get saved. If you truly get saved and what I mean by that. If you truly get saved, you won't want to do an act and do the things that you are doing when you go about your daily walk. You just absolutely. The Holy Spirit will allow you to be that person and you don't will be that person you want it. It's different when when God's leading in your being obedient to him. You don't you don't you don't will be that person used to be and you can't be that person used to be the Holy Spirit. Kelly got a hold of your heart and you don't desire the site. I'm not saying that we were not human. We are we make mistakes but I don't have the desires that I used to have in my heart. And if I do say something or if I do act a certain way the Holy Spirit chastises me so fast that I have to make it right and I give you a prime example. I came in the house a couple weeks ago and I didn't say anything bad or any I didn't do anything that wasn't aboveboard but my wife asked me something in the just a tone of voice that spoke about her as I walked away in walked into my bedroom.

The Holy Spirit should you you you raise your voice like that and it wasn't like I did. I didn't think right now while biking acid, Shelley. I'm sorry that talk like that are in it, tone of voice. She should rock you know you had a busy day and I have to there were good so when you do something you should know to do the Holy Spirit that you pretty quick and yet they get to get it right right then. Well, that's a great word of advice if of those listing out there. I think biblically is it keep a short account and even the Scripture comes my start with the inability sun go down on your anger. You know if you're if you're married and have an argument or disagreement, you know, whatever you want to call with with your spouse, you noted as you said just take care business right away yelling because that makes a difference in my somebody different bonds. The two of you together that Ali and I'm sure Shelley had to really appreciate you humbling yourself because that's that's a point of humility.

Let's face it and have egos of believe it or not, and in a pretty full of pride, but at least well least I am and in such quite a humbling thing to go back and ask for forgiveness and/or apologize right you do man just what happens. The relationship just rose up, draws a much closer exactly it, it doesn't.

It really does he just you have a you just have inner peace that okay I did what you told me to do Lord and you are right now are wrong and then you go about your day and it did, but it just makes a better relationship with your wife or just it it it it just like you want to do better. When he asked me to pray.

I was honored by that would later only me and my son Daniel had a little bit of time just by herself.

He said that he am so proud of you.

He said since you got saved, it's just been a blessing and a and I called while you know in and he said all of us talk about all of the boys. He said we will all realize and recognize what man you have become.

Said you got saved and I was so thankful that I had made a difference in my son's love and in hopefully and in other funds as I walk daily with Christ that I can make a difference this by my actions the way I thought what the thing to the site and wait carry myself right. You bring up a valid point that people are always watching, especially if if your professed believers in Christ follower say Christian people.

People are watching which which leads me into one result want to have you come back and be on the shogun to rock is and I'm hoping here's a break and some talk about you often, especially when preaching like at the revival recently another place as I go I bring you up as an example, I am what I mean by that is at you shared with me that essentially every morning now you wake up in your life. Lord bring something across my path that I can share my story with or in order will be an example and give us a am I right, you pray that virtually everyone just about right. Not every morning.

Bert almost right Nikita. I get up every morning pretty much in the first thing I do is I find the Lord for giving me another day. I thank you for my family, my children, my grandchildren and I said Lord Artis will be obedient, you put somebody in my put in in my path today that I can witness to tell you about tell them about Jesus and almost every single day. If the most opportune time somebody will drift my way and I get to witness to an end in and it's always a little quiet place worth not busy. It is crazy because I just an interest is just random people that I know some of them that I don't know right and I just get to say Jesus is one of the things it also is something like anybody told you do Jesus load and then you you basically start a conversation with them and then then the and I said you got a minute sure is a limitation my store. Limited will have a male 723 07 thing when I got saved and when I tell that story. It touches our heart and is not meat but bragging on me, his arm given the Lord, the credit for everything. I mean, if somebody told me, you know, five, six years ago. You know you going act like this or be like this are even in the about the salvation part about I don't either. This is that we don't you maybe dismissed it as I got home I guess you're right. But as I go out in my doing business with my apparel company I get to see a lot of different folks. And so my mission is I just let the Lord Hamlet. I found out pretty quick to just get out of the way and let God handle things be obedient and he puts those people in my path every day and so I get a chance to witness to tell muscle well and I know you told me it's been in warehouses is been so many different places. There was a man on the side of the roadies hold up a sign work for food are you knocking members echo what he had a little sound & then and there and when I actually came out of the flea market. It was later. Also there was the low blood flow to go so the guy was a scam standing there and so I pulled over and he walked up my car and I said tell me your story, and he was telling me how he was getting addicted to drugs and things like that. My simple I got a question for us to do you know Jesus a sore year and I know a little bit about these as a buddy of your ass Jesus in your heart and you're asking come in the heart and Savior and he said no.

I said would you like to do that.

He said you and so I gave him the plan of salvation week talked about. I suggest just just say Lord I'm a sinner coming to my heart. I realize that you you God.

You wrote is that the only third day and come in my heart. Jesus, if you do that from Shelley for you. The rest of my life and that the gods started crying and sobbing and he friend you know, to be saved. At that point right in and so we just had we just have the time right there and so it doesn't matter if it's a professional business person, or just a homeless person right there stood there people out there that end, and sometimes I get frustrated because all my past somebody asked us to stop.

I should stop the witness that person because you don't never know, sometimes even though you know like menus been a restaurant before and you would say some to the waitress about it.

We arrived for, pray for, and is amazing what the reaction you get some time yeah so always keep that in mind if you have a if the Lord lead me to witness to somebody go door well and in you mentioned would obedient a couple different times in our conversation in that's part of one of the keys is is still obedient and if you delay that obedience delayed, obedience is really called disobedience is still hope you don't just just obey right away just go talk at first.

That's a phenomenal story and and and one more short story. You know, as you had encounters with others on the marketplace. Well I'm heading up and had encounters with lots of folks even my inner folks in my own family, which is the hardest by the way family is really for my brother Bobby I love him so much.

He's just these. These are the just need a really nice guy and he the he's a hard worker and we we had several cons conversations about Jesus and he works a lot. Eight. Please, remember me. You know commitment.

He works a lot. He wants to provide for family wants to be the best that he can be an outcome telling Mount Tom slow down a little bit right slow down a little bit. Remember world this is coming from right that type thing is powerful and and and you I'm reminded of Quickstart reminded of a recent man camps that that election. And so I just pause in the Holy Spirit what is wishing you you want to know is absolutely and and so I had him break and here's the thing you talked about how that homeless man pray. I want all those out there listening is there's no perfect provisional cookie-cutter prayer.

There's no perfect prayer is no prayer in the Bible, but the key is rock. You might attest to this. The key is just this frame from the sincerity of your heart is God. Man looks at the outward appearance, God looks at the heart and he sees the sincerity of your heart and man, when you pray that prayer and asked for forgiveness and compassion in some case in a repent. God sees that and in the transformation. Like happened in your life takes place what happened this young girl who prayed that recently the homeless man who began to sob and cry and show one more, so one last come aside and think about this. You have somebody you care about and their loss. Just keep praying for.

Don't put Brian my mom pray for me literally till I was 62 years old and she still pray for me well, but I mean and she never quit. So God finally went on his terms on our current. I wasn't I was able to make the Lord is 62 and one mom mom came to church that day I gave my testimony. A few weeks later I was so thankful and she was so proud. I'm sure made a stand there and tell people about Jesus.

That was the most one of the highlights of my whole life to the fact that she was still living and she saw that her prayer, God answered right and answered prayer self-hate your listening out there. You don't have to be an evangelist like me, you have to be a pastor you don't hack all you have to do is have a heart heart for Jesus love Jesus and love God well and that a heart for other people and and and maybe you pray that prayer that Rocky praised every morning Lord bring somebody across my path.
