If you'd like a phone call from the Russian nightmare toy. They just submit some questions to cool off… My website: F.net submit your questions and you may get a personal phone call from me and get you on the show univocal off but in studio with me today in studio's not a phone call today in studio Eric Everhart's the butcher's block, the man of the hour when it comes to meet so that you Nikita.

Glad to be here. Great to have you on the show and it. I say that, but in the in all seriousness, you know your your place of establishment. The butcher's block for those you who would not know or don't know you have a location Winston-Salem North Carolina and one in Lexington, North Carolina, where you were born and raised there born and raised in born and bred Lexi Carolina and you in the author. I know from some your story author corporate America for many many years to 25+ years and then had a vision. Just five or so years ago to to start your own business book by you have the heart of an entrepreneur from about the age of 22 yes sir yes sir that was actually when the home idea of me wants all my own business came about was when my early 20s and I don't open the butcher shop because there was nothing similar to what I do. Even back then and in and out of this day there's very few that do it like we did show. He said it's some say you know you always hear the expression always an overnight success, but your your butcher's block is an overnight success with 25 years experience under the backlink.

Many, many years of planning many years of planning and and and against your mom's better wishes. Yes, yes, you stepped out, took a risk and launched in the first shop in Lexington or Carolina yes which is block and then expanded to Winston-Salem but you have some of the most unique items on the planet right we do a lot of very unique items that you won't find enter typical grocery stores by no means you are talking with Japanese beaver so that I been to Japan and I've had one of the most expensive stakes ever on the planet was called Ramirez steakhouse in Tokyo and I think at the time the suspect's.

Yes, I think at the time the stay cost me over hundred dollars. Yes yes yeah was a wagon you know III don't know. But here's what I do know like like they and I thought this is the craziest thing like this does not happen, but they hung up beat they hung the cows like it's like they never touch the ground. They had a my king in suspended in air while yes Feeding them so so the meat was the most tender meat I've ever obviously because it's never walked her yet again depends on the year a lot of stories about how the cows are raised but that would be wagon okay.

I've heard the stories where they play classical music.

They handle subscale and give the Cal beer. It depends on depends on the story you heard but yeah that would be the wagon when it's the most tender beef in the world. Yeah for it like you just melted in his liking better just melted in your mouth. Yes, absolutely. And what we offer that as well and you've offered yeah and sold it out. You got it and sold it out loud with so on. But every time the assembly will that's that's it. That's crazy because so in any course you have. You know some of you know higher and higher in beef and in seafood and chicken and meets us up but my understanding is where people come from all over America to your shops… Pretty amazing.

We've had some people come from Tennessee Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, cook couple people that frequent you know that when I come in on the holidays to visit their families. They come to us in an purchase quite a bit for cookouts. We did have quite a few people come that were on the way to Myrtle Beach that have came from Michigan area in Ohio. They googled us found this stop on the way down, picked up stakes take the beach for the vacations.

Just at this yeah can blows me away but it speaks highly of what you offer. Yes yellow very unique niche right to assert it's all about the quality, quality and service. Okay while in the service is impeccable for those who've never frequent frequently your establishments and you have some very I learned conversations, some very loyal employees see your one-man particulars been in the butcher business for over 40 years. Yes, Debbie and David and he is phenomenal. David your listening shout out to you David, I love your story is a member and and about how mistaken he was is a wrestling fan to tell you. Yes, he was feeling and still is is you like what I want to do you cut the lid up, but his eyes got a got here as saucers as I remember right. Yes sir… But he said something Eric to me that he said okay, not those you listening out there. Just think about the statement for moment, so this man has been in the butcher big like chopping up meet up butcher for over 40 years.

But the statement he made to me is he said this is the best job I've ever statement is huge.

She speaks volumes about you with that resident as an employer. Yes, yes, and that's my philosophy. My philosophy is take care the people take care you and you will thrive should not only do you have quality meats, along with many other amenities. By the way in your place of business of you cannot only get your your entrée. Your main course, but you can get all the amenities a couple including desserts.

Yes sir. Well try to did we try to do everything to complete a really nice meal all the way from the pretties sides. As far as some rice is prepared and she seeps you don't gourmet desserts. Yes Gourmet has pies, cakes, and in the majority of the things we do offer we try to about as much local product as possible that that which is really cool.

She's supporting not only are you a local businessman but your supporting local businesses as well. Yes or so. So if somebody's not familiar. I know you so a lot of people find you all on your website unless what your website of the butcher's block LLC.com. The butcher's block LLC.com and then another big avenue that people find this is Facebook works usual Facebook okay and in the course. I'm grateful for you Eric is your your sponsor you're an advertiser on on the on the man up show and and actually our flagship. Would you actually that also parlays into the Q&A with Cole often and so I'm just grateful that you believe in what we do know is a Florida size definitely must deftly show while it is Q&A with Cole, often in so let's let's flip the tables here and give you the opportunity to ask me out three questions whatever you might want to throw out there so let's go for let go have first question, what inspired you to become a professional wrestler while what inspired me you it's interesting so if you you are inspired to be an entrepreneur.

I was never inspired to put on a pair of tights and grab a sweaty guy across truck back. I remember Pete brick Elko my high school PE teacher letter sounds and caressing a business does kill me. He could've been a professional wrestler but he was an amateur coach is the high school coach and he wanted me to go out and I'm like, like Mr. Greg Elko, a thank you but no thank you.

You know is like looking back on America's like, you know, the idea of grabbing a sweaty guy my little underwear in front of his high peak that the rally roughly high school red just like 12 people of the crowd your family. But here's the worst part.

I watched some of my buddies like like diet like noddy for like days so they can quote make weight. Yes I we put on the wetsuit this one of the cut the sweatsuit with going to the sod run forever and am I see I like your business because I like to eat and I like meat. I'm not opposed to me. I like a good quality meat like yours, but unlike the need to mud no I am not going to go. You can also have a way to like no helmet giving shoulder pads when we knock somebody's block all that excites me right.

Yes, all that to say this. I know God has a sense of humor.

What I end up doing for a living grabbing sweaty guys in my little by the leotard as our daughters used to call it, my little leotard for a worldwide audience.

No yes yes but but so wasn't so much Eric. That's a long version. To answer your question, but once it was inspired to be a pro wrestler. Some of my buddies have got involved. You may remember that the Legion of doom the road were yes animal and hawk you are wrestling fan but on and in an animal, I recruited a high school play college football with me and then he got into progressive recruited me in professional wrestling with a phone call and a five minute conversation, Jim Crockett, Junior, Jim Crockett dwellings and and so really it's just a door of opportunity opened up and and and like your risk taker. I took a risk and in that I packed up everything I owned my name drove to a city where I'd never been Charlotte and Carolina to meet a man that only had a five minute conversation with months prior walked into his office and the cuticle offers born of the hallways of Charlotte while in the career was to be New York.

From there is amazing story. That's crazy.

So anyway, set the next question what would what do you think you would've done if you would get interesting. Well, so, so, like your your your passion will stone your business and and bring people quality meats and all that right.

My passion was was football. You know I member is a 12-year-old actually started with a magazine called iron. It was a bodybuilding towards the weightlifting night was bodybuilding and I was seeing now murdered.

I'm fascinated by the guys in the magazine like the fact that somebody could actually build their muscles like to like that bigger yes and be ripped like that you know it and all that we just intrigued me, and so I was 12 years old had a paper route at the times I was an entrepreneur actually starting this escape grade like the real you got my own paper route and that led to a second route that led to have the papers delivered outlet led to hiring a guide to deliver my papers and collect the money and pay him a commission.

Well I played football is football was my passion.

Yes.

So from from weightlifting bodybuilding ball became my passion I lived a sleep breed that I mean I mean I knew the playbook front to back it inside out and upside down. So my dream was to play in the NFL and in and I would I would pursue that through high school into college.

Another were two setbacks in college but but I like to say this, a setback doesn't have to hold you back can be a set up
