In today's episode Nikita speaks with long time friend and wrestler Chuck Coats. Hear how God blessed Chuck not only in his professional career but in his daily life, as he describes his multiple battles with cancer. Chuck is the winner of those battles but God is the overall Victor because of His grace, love, and mercy by sending his only son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our transgressions. Then raising Jesus up from the grave he is thus proclaimed as the Savior of our lives.

Welcome back to another show, another time with the Russian nightmare. The devil's nightmare. No acute ecologic. Hey, I am thrilled to have on the show with me today.

This man who goes back to talk about manning up. I mean this guy has manned.

I think I'm accurate in saying this, a three time cancer survivor and will get to find out if that's true in just a moment here, Chuck Coates, Chuck welcome to it's time to mathematics. Joe started about you weekend catch up a little bit and got you got a great figure to me in and out telling my story is an opportunity to do that today. Well, it is not in any my introduction chocolate was I correctly say after three time cancer survivor that is correct, you know, recon 2006 12 eight 2016 I tell you what I get to have a number okay and give my break is your hero so this being all picked out big time will know what what were to jump that before we get to that little more details on that for those out there in the listening audience in and by the way people listen around the world and we fed 59+ countries not only listen to the to the radio show and/or podcast and so your stories to go worldwide here and in today. But before we get there get humorless is little backdrop a little backs Lori on Chuck Coates then will will talk about your your victory in overcoming cancer will note early on in my younger days. Mme. and I got a little and we got to watch your great grades come on, got got me a plot and I would go out with you know what you think that University Riley and Rita Graham from NWA to Crockett promotional bear.

We bought tickets in advance we got ringside never ever ever set a web link starting and out there. My college days. Had I got the point… I wanted. Not always been told to go for a walk recommended Margaret College of health Royal school and Mooresville and gotten training and also short. Next thing I know the New York and must recognize several television all whole lot sooner. I look let's load all the while, that's all right. Let's go back first to the door to Rita because you you may. You may not know a lot of Russian fans do know some don't but that's where I debuted right Norton arena in Raleigh.

Yeah it is a crazy story for me.

I mean, because I had I didn't dream of a beautiful pro wrestler and I didn't quit college jock actually graduated college but then do a five-minute phone call to Jim Crockett, Junior the promoter in Charlotte, North Carolina to that conversation. I showed up at the office today said to be there and fixing it on stand before can run you where it would change around the back and looking mean and menacing and then to be Raleigh tomorrow night Russell, so, so let me ask you questions so did in those early days of getting good grades and rewarded by going to professional wrestling. Did you ever see the Russian nightmare in action in the ring in Dorton.

Absolutely, if Mikita magnum and the J. Matt required Kelly Blanchard… That in my scrapbook. No way to start the good job of Mikita go from directly to the black thing and I thought all men, all work. One of the reasons I gumming up a good way that I wanted. Failing and that it was a wrestling with big football to me or anything else not bring the doing and like we had the opportunity okay so so she grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, Durham, Raleigh yeah okay Raleigh Germany collected triangle, yet she grew up in the Triangle area and and you are in college studying in college but but an avid wrestling fan on, you got a vision for you got a vision got a picture you waste as you said it a dream of becoming a progress as you drop out of college and it had for those who are in college. She you know you going the way of that right.

You can say hey if you have a dream. It be for you. It turned out rather well for for some, but maybe not so. But you drop out, and you met you through a name out there Nelson Royal yell there's a lot of Lotta people may not may or may not know who Nelson Royal was but Becky still has to think tilt to this day, that is no longer with us in going on to heaven to be with the Lord. But he's got out on a Western store there and Mooresville, North Carolina believe is still there. Do you know, I do believe his daughter you think you Know is been there like you like 50 or 60 years were enemies which is interesting a Western store in North Carolina.

I would, Texas. I could picture that you know anyway so so and I knew we had a camp in and he was the world NWA world Junior heavyweight champion correct correct yes yes so he had a history behind them in the history of success in wrestling pretty big name, and in the mid Atlantic wrestling air arena area and so you went to his camp and on any of the guys that that listeners might read names that they might recognize that you are in camp with at that time I was a little bit younger and worked out, the angel and I was more about, WC W and I were finishing, or just didn't spill Crockett when I was starting and so your tingling with their help and training course was very writing. Ricky Nelson was there for godly well.God for that.

But you got over everything I bought big lot because of the job they did make your goat different world back me and you know me not about you go to the Coliseum of the great workout you go to hospitals are brief in all the places like that you get the crowded house shows and that's what was to me. God made me know will do whatever is so that's not the yeah yeah well and in you name some names there again. For some, maybe not. Not so recognizable but they are to me jock because life because I became you I got the privilege of step in the ring with the you mentioned some your dusty roads to rock 'n' roll express Ricky steamboat Johnny Weaver blackjack Mulligan Barry Windham Kelly Blanchard, who we've had on the show before and of course staying looks Luger in the list goes on and on.

But what I want people to understand today even in hearing some of your early part of your story is that I Mikita call off was successful because of many of those names you mentioned.not not so much the names I mention all I'm grateful that step in the ring with Rick flair and I say can make a broomstick look good, because he made the key to cool off. Yeah why plot for the record, was because of guys like you mentioned Jean league Ricky Nelson Tommy Angel Chuck Coates and others as you guys one in the ring on television with us and made guys like me look really really good that that in turn put me in main event matches against guys like I mentioned the big name guys as well and so you know, you guys really you guys really are are are the gold standard of that day of professional wrestling is once you hear that from you to know that you know your lot about your know where you are most might like it might write well I just might start every good football player right you know if you're needing to buy a car and have marginal credit for considering using buy here pay here that's worse than taking the Russian sickle Winston-Salem motorcars will put you behind the wheel of a car you can rely on while helping rebuild, repair or establish your credit score conveniently located on Silas Creek Pkwy. in Winston-Salem. Well not. But not only that, yeah, you what you said. Okay, so let's let's let's talk for minute you said your you're in New York and you're resting Andre Andre the giant hot hot so you okay to breaking you go to know since You break into wrestling shipped off to New York you stand the ring with Andre to jot what was that it thoughtless is what that experience was like I was never the ring with Andre for complex data. If I didn't have it on YouTube. I would believe we were in trying to work with him and he got back then they take everything and they wanted a variety you guys up.

You think you're ready not been right. You know, failing to Charlotte. Back then you TV you know you got Russell… But we didn't know if there talking. Ethan yet about that report clock.bought out.

Yeah right to name although my Chuck Coates): in Andre the giant. So I'm like that. I just read that correctly so story about that. Andre blank cards that day. With me the number from the bottom.

Andre like my card okay.

I thought maybe it would be about 5 o'clock 537 it works or not Andre something that the court really comes Andre where a film about doctors that have Andre login you but you don't go down around here… I got sees a big bad Elizabeth 744 550 for those in Uno that's always been there for you on my undergraduate hold you to get but would you like get your face you fall and break up the elbow might not want to knuckle television tell me that. But I want to hear from him. Thank you think that you took my hand with a giant hand like you and the like.

What you know that's a great that's a great story because I've never heard of before and I know the answers you love it. That's awesome you so so so Andre the just the course of the other names Chuck that that you, you know, maybe some matches that are memorable beyond know that that introduction right there that would then follow will you will be in Crockett. Correct right well promotions would take a run off of that note you to rush the facts about the Russians that were hundred and nothing Russian bit looks like I was told by a group that I did it right but you call off ironically and I do Russian outfit" Russian. I did that and I'll let you hundred 50 pounds and I will barely built and I did a lot of the independent show that the Russian the fact that I would work, but I've been at work, you will not grow Virginia for Bobby open and remember that you thousand people there with the Russian click at the end of that. I can remember Dav I just wanted to see you. Many say how could you forget it. But anyway all you about my right there.

Everything to me only to WW, I was stone cold starting or TV match that affected your to come on. You are there. We got together about your document.

Let's remember you got destroyed. The court that we don't wrestle lingering like the condo, your God bad Mark Merrow. They're not got it right Nashville. Thankfully Jody like me. I did later.

Always worried about that which you should have been just the right side and suffer would not take no, that's that's amazing you though assuming some phenomenal names out there and how many years to Chuck. Did you end up resting on 22,000 and I actually 1986 got the ring for the first we got it Noel right after Nelson it was more like God. 19. Your run and the 2000 because my lot that you fact that you got my last match idea, regular bike, that one that one that I got sick. It was a chair the event and I thought your dog I don't like you hurt I'm older and don't want one for me. In 2013 okay, about 1920, you're okay from you I got your back will you you you you you excelled in your dream was fulfilled and you excelled in self image 2006. If I was paying attention that was there when you were the first time that the cancer was detected yet.

I am something else little probably light but workable for you. I was told rental in Galax, Virginia, I was wrestling with liquid resurrection and how to get a physical because you and Virginia had to have that baby like right it. I thought okay, whatever. And I went and got it. I remember the doctor said everything looks great on your neck we'd get checked out your specialist thought much about it.

I guess 89.

We could about the show.

Yeah, no problem to get me my life and all that. Not a week later I like the appointment got check and make they get a check on it and that we need a week later I came back he said we can't get enough.

I tell me what was going on the different things were looking at surgery. I got lymph node and so what they give Albert the fight like. And when making cancer because I, wondered, I guess I want to make sure. But then I found out think that was diagnosed that you probably don't, never heard it was with your situation with with hot foam so that my diagnosis and thought about what you cannot get right yet. I believe in what you went for so we went up to that we get chemotherapy, radiation in in 2006, albeit from September to February 2007 and then gradually decided to keep me around so thousand seven February, I was declared cancer free. The first go around okay and what 2012, 2012 update bad. Actually, that what your past and lymphoma 90% chance once it was late getting remission never comes back well go 2012 I had my side of my back. I think getting our member all remember that day. Go have foster kids that I will got what we got off of the note probably got a little bit addicted to that. It was fun. I thought about what a registered nurse and trying to get Simon Mann that will will muffle long but did get better so my primary care specialist once again in March. My pancreas had no swollen against their numbskulls and the pain and they scheduled date the work again with all minded doctors he said very unusual pictures out in the mission and the stuff the return on but a polymeric transplant so thousand 12 yeah I got a moment transplant at Duke University. That's what propelled me to move back home. I worked because the male hometown and herself as far as medicine. We got we got that take place in latter part of all 2012 and successful transplant. Everything went as planned and once again the Lord spared me and endows cancer free, and here we go. 26 2016. Then we go again. I had more issues with the right and I was tired and fatigued lowlife nurse is really good monitor and I'll meet you. You looking for your retirement going over we go this time really got shut out because all by 2016 I go the way transplant once again. This time when I don't get the car don't so Megan in the medical terminology they look the registry over bone marrow donors moment worldwide in billion people, not one perfect match. Not one match so they said well were doing to Rick Dixon if no study and they're doing half match sibling. So my brother was only 50% magic in first and if you will be willing to enter this study will be glad to hear the shot in three note in basically 50-50 route told they were quite sure if it was work what they wanted to be with you three towns run at auction bone marrow and respectively and the Lord just graciously took it.

Everything went as planned, the healing process. The situation with everything was like compared to what they expected that the only God could do this because I was within 100 days back out of out of court yogic working Batman for that like to be around people mounting system. No so I think back home told me to go ahead and get stuck in checkups and and next thing I know this.

Thank you. Looking in and down all the numbers were just like, yet the limited understanding them, I yeah yeah yeah and I told Clay Lord Christian for a while. I didn't load.

I've never say God my third, I can't fully submit you Tom Mikita and I had given him every thing I mean this… Short, going to church right unite unit witnessed stuff like this where you get going upright this morning no matter what happens, Lord, I want to get the glory somebody would hear this today and then be that got you put people in the past for recent and I just totally Lord I get lucky if you could call the electric if you will note old Myrdal you allow me to get through the phone number to give you everything I got my life and admit that house yet. Overall, it just in absolutely amazing what he's done right, not personal like right I'm I will open doors Mikita we can sort through meetings like with recovering drug addict with our meet up about once a month I get a call. Hey, are you typing I'm sure with you Mikita about how God is.

Everybody has a purpose. Everybody here run accident. Ryan, although I might not be a preacher. Yeah, I'm here to do something for God.

And so willing to thousand 21 and I'm out permission to come first. Mikita next year will be secured and so on. The rest of the day if I die bourbon. I'm given everything every everything and yeah we say only what is judgment your decision because he knows everything. Well, I could not hear what I love you yup. Absolutely. And where were almost on a time limit on all and I was going ask you know what your for those out there, maybe struggling physically or or something. Another way to know whether it mentally, emotionally, spiritually mean I was going ask you what you might wait say recommend what you already did you just said it. I think the key to what you just said to me you know it as a three time cancer survivor, you know, being fully submitted and fully yielded to the Lord.

No matter what were going through. So for those yeah maybe out there listening. Whether it's it's cancer or some other no physical addiction. You know drugs alcohol use struggling with anxiety, depression, you know what. Whatever the case may be, as you hear Chuck's story and for me, Chuck, just a story of incredible inspiration and and perseverance, and I would summarize it to say you note to everyone listening fully submitted and in fact administer a message, you know, called counting the cost in challenging people are they fully committed and now it through your own testimony fully submitted and so we what incredible story and I'm so grateful to have you on the show today and and I guess you have to have you back sometime today you mentioned you made mention of of foster care next year maybe love to hear more about that you and your bride and by the way, Chuck. It sounds like the Lord brought the right woman into your life to nurse, of all things to talk about seeing the hand of God work in your life and I can't thank you enough room for coming on the show today bring blessing to be your blessing this year… You said your rate of dog appropriate for you to make mistakes never have never will.

Whatever you going through. I promise you won't regret it.
