One slow-motion night. Now the devil's worst nightmare. Your tagteam partner cheetah call time. Welcome back Becky to cool off, it's time to man all been today I come to you with the super special show because it is all about Christmas course there's lots of things to look as Mrs. become very commercialized.

You might say, and many's was in sense of the word, but there's way more to Christmas than than just opening Christmas presents and eating Christmas dinner and and you know maybe watching some things on on television miracle on 34th St. or any of those other favorite movies that that you may watch and and to celebrate Christmas in the studio with me today is not other than Robbie Gilmore, the Christian car guy Robbie great to have you on the special edition man.

I Christmas I just absolutely adore it. I watch Christmas movies year-round. My wife will tell you if it is not else is doing everyone for Christmas okay will that I actually that is the right right there on the lookout of the top of my list.

You have you have a C have a list of up to have like a favorite go to and then it but but you're just any of them.

While my favorite go to is always okay with George Bailey right right right and in with Donna Reed which was the wife and in the movie and I saw my mother and you saw Donna Reed, you would realize that all my goodness me my my my mother was on was the spitting image of Donna Reed, one of the same. Okay.

And so the first time I ever saw the movie was with my mother after I was an adult like I was 20 through 24 years old, my bit name. She was from that area of New York where no Bedford Falls would be and so all my gosh I mean this was her error her movie and will always be one of my favorite memories. I just got divorced. My mom asked me to come back to Mexico and spend Christmas with her yeah and we watched it's a wonderful life will bring stairs might just think about what electrical memory that I have the memory of that movie too. It's a wonderful life I had Kendra and Colby my two youngest daughters with me on a road trip to Minnesota and headed to Minnesota and is now up there so for Christmas holiday and we stopped in Indianapolis and it just so happened I'm checking into the hotel and I specifically chose at hotel Valley that they were little. At the time that an indoor heated pool like this is perfect will get there early and go swimming and have a bunch of finding and in them I was checking in. It was like an advertisement on the desk about. It's a wonderful life play like a play while it's a wonderful life was like a mile from the hotel like oh my gosh I and I asked go there like you know there's like still tickets for the singly ago. I'm sure there are. And sure enough it was like it. Dinner plate on top of that you like one of those are region.

Anyway, I got tickets in the three of us went and had delicious little mule there at this dinner theater. We got to see a stage play of it's a wonderful life. I don't know that that Kendra Colby had ever really seen the movie.

Prior to that, but here's this was even cooler. Robbie, we got to Minneapolis got Dr. to my mom's house and and we got the movie. So we saw the stage play yeah and then we watched the movie why we were there, and what I realized was what an amazing job they did in this stage play to really it was almost like the identical to the movie itself. I don't even know how they did it, but they did capture the captured and I and I love stage was. That was one of things with my children growing up that I tried it I wanted to be exposed to different arts and you know entertainment and culture and those sorts of things. So I took with things like like state like I took him to Mary Poppins on on Broadway literally on the side story of what were New York I had with me in and I bought tickets to surprise them and we walked by the theater. Like all Mary Poppins but we so we walked by it, though.

We got about a block to go back the other way. We go back in a cycle… Stopping here. I need to*I question and I pulled the tickets on my part yet still a memory to any place in ballets and ice co-pays and just a lot of different arts and culture, there's another interesting story about it. It's a wonderful life from my perspective, if you know it was a flop at the box office. In fact, Capra almost got picked on a Hollywood over it because it lost money while and it ended up it like his by many considered the best movie of all time and in and has awards out the kazoo, but not the year they came out came out like a 1947 it flopped and it was almost like the end of his career at one point in time because everybody had these great expectations but it just goes to show you that sometimes you know you do some God and you know this thing is awesome. But it may not be the way its receipt. You know it's interesting because it reminds me of a more recent story guy named Dallas Jenkins. Oh yeah who who had a movie this. Some of the life of Gavin stoners think that was the life of Gavin that flopped in the theaters and it just about crushed him and through others, encouraging him know he he didn't give up. He didn't throw in the towel so to speak. And now there's there's an amazing series that is transforming not only the Christmas story, but Christ is the story of Christ himself called the chosen and I am I am one of those bins Jesus so viewers of the children sent me to have you got the tickets for the scum idea that if you haven't seen it in fact make sure you go and see the chosen Christmas special. Find out where that's in your area and in the I'm telling you it will blow you away not only the episode itself. Brand-new episode but all the music artists that that are performing as part of that.

That movie part of that all my goodness, but like for real.

I personally I've never seen a better depiction of of Jesus and bringing the Bible alive than than the chosen series shall apply shot out the Dallas Jenkins if you're listening Dallas and to the chosen and in right now if you got the chosen map this very moment there is a there's a movie that he did before he did the chosen call the shepherd and the shepherd is the prequel really to what the Christmas specials going to be so if you have the app chances are now the Christmas special for 2021. Is there a Cousin right be on December 2 so you can watch the shepherd first and then watch the Christmas special like oh my goodness in the shepherd itself is like off the hook. I was and that was it.

He just did that he just did that little little movie of it with a debit title now running for but we just differs church right and this is after the Gavin Stone flop and and and man.

It went viral. It took often course that led into the chosen series sees that you know in a lead now into the special Christmas Christmas movie. The chosen so anyway. All the way to grasp the side chosen is a very exciting so if you're not familiar with the matter go look it up. Download the app that is been watched around around the world. I don't even know what the latest count of how many people since of lawn tape.

They had two seasons.

It is been viewed by over 303,000 people around the world and their goal is 1 billion for 1 billion people to to view and it's all free. It's all it's all free and so any anyway movie.moving eyes of what what what any of the Christmas mapping miracle on 34th St. or any of the others.

So here in her mind might surprise you but you know the Grinch.

Oh, okay, because to me. One of the thoughts that resonate this season is Mary Lou who who said where are you Christmas on you and I find you. Where did you go away because that's how I often feel like man this is this is what I feel like it should be because were looking for. The reason for the season and and and/or if you're not looking for the real reason for the season. Boy, this is the season to to do that right or that's good. Yeah courses so many good Christmas movies out there.

What about what about the idea for a favorite Christmas song Robbie green vinyl tile carpet right now number one and the readers think this is Nicole and I want to thank lemons carpet for supporting my new show man on Saturday afternoon at 1230 truth network mechanical fear if you're needing to buy a car and have marginal credit and considering using buy here pay here that's worse than taking the Russia sickle Winston-Salem motorcars to put you behind the wheel of a car you can rely on while helping rebuild, repair or establish your credit score conveniently located on Silas Creek Pkwy. in Winston-Salem. If anybody ever went to Calvary Baptist Church with we had a pastor for years and years of students Pastor my pastor by the name of Marquart's and he would sing, O holy night, and he was not a professional singer but you know you talk about the message gets from your head to your heart right.

He had a heart for the Lord interrelationship of the Lord of like nobody you ever know, and so when he sang O holy night, like if you didn't worship you earn them like oh my gosh it was it was the event that we all waited for all year long because he would do it every Christmas movie and very moving. Oh man so so so it's on my list. Actually, O holy night, I made a list of some of my my go twos not in any particular order, per se, but why Christmas O holy night Mary did you know silver bells Carol of the bells jewelry to the load scum. I just turned off some way talking stick a state. I'll then don't to me. Off to Little drummer boy, that's cool.

And last but not least holding up every Man out there who sing that song in their certain artists out there that sing their managers, tears me up every time Robbie of like this you that way.

If it takes you there exons can get your heart like nothing else you for real NNN saying I think the Lord knows that in in course you music your musics been used for unforeseen for other reasons, unfortunate reasons, but if used for the right reason and the artists out there you know just have that. That heart course I was the heart for God and and sent to say that that secular songs of those sorts of things can meet the songstress in general music in general will move people right will move people but yeah I forgot I had this list you but I'm just looking course, it's a wonderful life miracle on 34th St. a Charlie Brown Christmas is a class I asked her what about Rudolph the red nose reindeer had a very shiny new that if you are migrating to. That's our that's the song you would even say all of this evening. Anyway, Frosty the Snowman given the member who played that like one of the original Frosty the Snowman is the character the voice was the member.

I'm thinking for a while. I guess right now 701 who Earl girl who lives go Google go… Go it catalogs it is just just say well reminiscing about movies and music here in the course of favorite moment with Robbie and his mom a favorite moment with my mom and Kendra and Colby in and out Robbie a few other things to your last couple really got over last couple hundred years of Christmas is been a more celebrated course but you don't Christians and in Jesus followers and resisting up till the 1800s it was really kind of a pagan celebration set up a set apart for drunkenness and rioting in the streets in the research that I did the less interesting and scary that one Carol we wish you a Merry Christmas. You can hear the bring is some pretty but you sleep letting them bring it right here like they were going. That was your original trick-or-treat from about understand like they would hurt you if you didn't come out with a figure putting right right if you really yes you do you really think of others really like yellows like a threat like a human, to give us something or will or will take it or something like I do remember that though going for effective yeah it it included that bring us in figure putting in and we will go until we get some or else you like. While it sounds like a thread but it did.

It generally meant that the riders would not leave until the.what they wanted and so for Betty for many, Christmas was was a day to be feared, not celebrated. That's interesting. So very interesting, but and then you know is it something else.

18 2018 to 18, 22 a minister educator named Clement Clark Moore ever heard him wrote a poem called a visit from St. Nicholas would go on to become known as the famed was the night before Christmas when all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse, you know what I do not know if you do this Robbie and add Semite my daughters Terrence 39 Tanis 35. I hope I get that right can just talk anytime and Colby's 25 I think I got close. Anyway, I got for four children and nine grandchildren. Another one on the way. Hard to remember all these birthdays. But you know what I do. I still do this every Christmas Eve so I have twice the night before Christmas and and they all know Haley deck calls and Christmas Eve don't answer the phone is a Maxi read the story because you know the kind of guy when their little world together and read it every every every Christmas Eve tradition now. I still read it. I leave it on on each one of their voicemails and and and they have told me you know it puts me in tears to hear it but I don't think I've missed a meeting meeting a phone call from the oldest at 39 down to the youngest of 25 they look forward to every Christmas Eve deep anything like any member like that with reading that story or anything with with your children anything. We have tons of things that you know actually from for whatever reason Thanksgiving night.

It is a tradition in the home that we will watch elf okay and what it will watch it again it it opens the holiday season know how they do this, of course you know for us like I'm I'm sure many Christians wheat we like to read chapter 2 text a couple of my my daughters have memorized it over the years and so we give him a chance to know you share that part of the Christmas story which is absolutely beautiful.

We read it or some part of that is is a big part of our well in in if actually speaking of stories 1843 Charles Dickens wrote a story you have changed everything, all the Christmas Carol state stressed the true meaning of Christmas in the essence of Christmas and spreading hope, joy, helping the needy, and in serving as Christ did and so a Christmas Carol be a great one to share Christmas with it with your children or grandchildren this year in the United States. Christmas was established as a federal holiday June 26, 1870 little little factoid there for the listeners and and then it would just devolve really from there into the holiday as we as we really kind kind of know it now celebrated now just right but is much is as you know, it's been pretty commercialized in and some criticize the commercialization of Christmas right and is in many cases, rightfully so, but it's interesting that you know we puts sanity think about Santa Claus think about Scrooge and McKenna put that aside for the moment that we get to the real meaning of Christmas. It really comes down to what Robbie, you know, we your computer are boot camp here in a week or so and we have been teaching this for some time that Christmas is in a miraculous event that the author of the story actually comes into the story as the main character he actually comes to earth and that the way that we depicted that for men because this is a messenger and a boot camp is we show the scene from saving Pvt. Ryan where they land on the beach because when Jesus came to earth. It wasn't Jesus meek and mild as much as this was this was the kingdom that was coming and there were a lot of people that were gonna die a lot of people realize that oh my goodness, I mean all those boys under the age of three, were murdered.

There was blood in the streets. As a result of the original Christmas. In other words, there was a battle that was on. As a result of Jesus coming into to get up to establish a beachhead that absolutely unbelievable and and then obviously to face his own death, that there was a there was it's a love story.

It's an unbelievably beautiful, unbelievably gorgeous love story, but it said in the midst of a horrible yeah yes I 100% agree about that. I made a couple notes or Christmas is all about. Really we get down to. It's all about good news is all about good news and it's not the good news of special gifts is not the good news of a big meal. The good news of festive festive music and beautiful lights. Although we enjoy all of those things right we enjoy all those things. Christmas is about the good news of God's love. When you when you boil it all down. That's really what it's about.

The Bible says every person desperately needs God's loving factor lost without your direction directionless. I'll say that way. I without without protection without real joy in your potential your eternal your potential eternal impact upon the world is on realized your eternity in heaven isn't secure so the good news of Christmas Robbie is that God sent Jesus to seek and save the lost right. That is exactly you could say it better, but here he came under unbelievable, considering here's a guy that left heaven had it made came into the dirt soon as you call it and and wow came into yeah and yeah and in into an environment that was a lot less than receptive is that a good way to say that it was no room for him to be in an know for 33 years and where many people that God's message that really understood what he was doing. But oh my goodness changed everything.

It it it it's a marker ramming it change the calendar for for those of us, you who are in 2021 A.D. eight mean show his birth for our modern-day calendar anyway and the Jews have a different calendar of the firm are our modern-day calendar.

It set the price for everything right and and you know Bible says is there is one God, there's an inch in Christ Jesus.

Easy one and only son who can bring us to God. We think about Christmas this year. Maybe this helps put it may be in a different perspective again. Not that you we don't want you to enjoy all those other things we do, but at the foundation of it all.

Right. Once you understand this is Jesus is the only one who can bring us to God. Jesus was truly human right. Robbie truly human. He gave himself to to really as a ransom for us right aboriginal just Christmas present was wrapped in swaddling let that when I wrapping it up and and you know that to find what Mary Lou who was looking for. I it is, is that relationship that changes the whole wave of technology feels to you so I hope this is your first Christmas maybe accepted Christ as your some time and you just really trying to get at the heart of what is this mean that God came to earth to save me but maybe you don't know and maybe you're missing that joy in your sent. Where are you Christmas well ma'am not no greater Christmas present. Could you have right Michaela. Your writing we did an interview. The friend recently. You said you know many, no Christmas, but they don't know the Christ of Christmas's pool wowing greatest Christ is Chris Christ mass right Christmas Christ mass salvation and a maybe you hear that about that for the very first time salvation. What was that word mean Jesus came really again for for all of us.

All of all of mankind. All of humanity to to solve all of our problems. Starting with a personal relationship with him and and know many can be trapped in their expectations or trio trapped in the approval of peers are trapped in addictions which is trying to change on their own but and they just don't have the power to do that to escape from all of that Jesus came to give us step right that by surrendering our heart to him. He came to recover the those who need to be recovered to restore those who need to be restored. Reconnect those who've lost their way. I mean, there's so many things we can look at. We look at Christ and what he can do for each and every one of us right now I think of five.

Tell me about the pastor courts when you looked in his eyes.

He knew immediately that this man you were his favorite right, and that's what the word grace means this wouldn't be nice to look in God's eyes and see that you are absolutely God's favor, you could be walking in the farming walking in the fog was for those you don't know that acronym the favor of God go look up Luke 252 and so yeah, I mean, so I hope you know even talking about little bit of the history of of Christmas today any missive or Christmas movies and music and and amidst all the festivities that you're going to be soon experiencing family gathering together in the opening of presents the unwrapping of presidents right you know more than anything. Our hope is Robbie and I are our hope is that this Christmas season that that you have established that personal relationship with Jesus you've experienced salvation and invited Jesus into your heart and just understand his bike grace that you will have been saved through faith. It's not of yourselves.

It's it's a gift it's a it's the greatest gift right Robbie is the greatest gift you can ever receive not by works. Ephesians 28 and nine. So if you have a trusted Jesus and committed to him. Robbie, how can they do that they just need to confess that he is the son of God and believe, right admit, believe, confess and pray and ask God look I want this relationship with you. I want to turn my life over to in fact we can do that right now if you don't just call as I wrote it for driving to Jesus, thank you for coming. I believe that your godson I believe that you died so that I could be reconciled to the father. I believe that that that you can make it possible for me to have a relationship and I turned my life over you and Lord show me how to get connected with other Christians and other people so that I can begin my new walk in life with you asked us in Jesus name, amen, is no more complicated than that folks mean if you're out there listening anywhere around the world on truth radio network and what you message me co-opt on that score, my lifecycle of.net and just say hey I listen to your show and and I made a decision for the very first time and surrendered my life to Jesus. Or perhaps you got off the narrow path somehow someway into a ditch and and we say rededicated or recommitted your life. I'd love to hear about it. You can message me and Merry Christmas. Hope all will right Robbie. What a gift Mary Christmas. Thank you for dilator is Christmas with Holland. God bless you. Enjoy the man RTV.com.
