You just landed appreciate him making himself available and up an interesting interview today mom excited about this like this. I I know Ms. sloppy slapping sloppy welcome to the show to be good. Obviously I'm guessing sloppy is a nickname.

It is definitely a nickname that I was wondering too happy about it. When I got it and I just kind of over the years. How do had to settle with a lot so slapping wasn't happy happy, but I do not check our counter grew to like it a lot.

You grew on me.

But you got it to just quickly tell the story how did it come about well college roommates. I was a drummer played many bands and before I play drums and had any drugs. I would slap on anything out drum on the stairwell I would drama anything around and it would really go my friends nerves so they would always ask stop slapping on flat though. That's when I came from you and I was always slapping on things and then I get on people's nerves with it.

So actually I so actually sloppy was pretty happy because you are bang on stuff you should know what typically is not happy.

Catherine so if you play drums and hidden stairwells and theology must be a good mood or decent mood say all you music. The music is an uplifting thing for me for sure you you love music for a long time everything I can remember way back when you would be a hairbrush when I was three years old Elvis records and my parents are all well a hairbrush that is the microphone at three you never meet. It's amazing now that I'll go ahead okay so go ahead and introduce yourself going to tell our listeners live you where to grow. Are you to your three years old. Deliverable were to grow stage about her failed my real name Brian I grew up in a town called Lebanon, Tennessee which is just east of Nashville, about 25 miles and yeah I've been there.

Every since moved to LA for a little while to learn my camera chops and I was there for almost 5 years and then I decided to move back because I really missed hills and trees and grass and that whole thing and also be able to afford living right LA right I got up I hear you and and family you have family yeah and my and my family great.

That's the main reason it brought me back home for sure your families back there and you have children you have four children ranges from nine get a 15-year-old son, an 18-year-old daughter and a 22-year-old daughter and let me test your one of the names youngest is that Charlotte Francis. My son is Kate Kate Kilgore, my middle daughter is only grace and my oldest daughter is Mary Hannah that's that's awesome trying to make me forget, and in the lovely bride. Oh yeah, my lovely wife Molly. She is most supportive woman I can ever ask for. Great. She works in healthcare system take care of our elderly people and she loves what she does. She been on the front lines started and not lesser heart Nancy that she is a God's interest or man that's awesome so so I have to let our our listeners know is this is important part of this conversation, I feel like. Anyway, she mentioned going out to LA to what you call Chuck chop shop what you call it my chops yet to get my camera chops to learn all about how we met.

Actually that's what I'm leading into so so here's the interesting thing about how for you Lissa house sloppy and I met was on a guess you why I call the television set but I guess it was. There were different settings, but you are you are working the cameras. If my memory serves you well and it was for a reality show called preachers daughters.

It sure was sure one that's where we met and when I first met you I was starstruck a little bit and I couldn't believe that outstanding brother. The Russian nightmare and I watched a lot of the kids and wrestling 2000 ask you directly. LA I did I did. I can't say that I was a fan back then, because you know I was against you, then you got a look at what you did a great job in the and that's stating chasing so well, you know that it was hard to tell, you know, I will try to stay in character and so do you have a favor favor memory financing either everything or well I think that maybe not. Seven with magna.ca that had been a highlight of your career is what you went back to back, chanting from 86 to 87. I believe that right. I think they did have just you yeah yeah that was some exciting times man in the house that I was right when wrestling was great.

I missed that era wrestling yeah many do. Many do they call it the Golden Era of wrestling and so you and you and I meet on the on the set of preachers daughters and and for those you don't know those are reality show centered around my youngest daughter Colby and and although all all of the family was on the show when we were part of that for two seasons, but it really centered around Colby's life as the daughter you know of a pack pastor has preachers daughters and so so we made in and we continue to bolt both seasons you filmed both seasoned sure did. Yeah and and you have a any any memory from from that. I know we we fell allowed to say this first we fell in love with you is a filming crew. You know him and we really did.

Our family fell love with you guys and any any favorite memories from from from filming that show with us.

You know all the memories that I have you in the family were off caramel you know they were. They were the times that you and I ran into each other at your church when I was filming another show and I broke down crying because I had a long I was so happy to see you and you and your daughters out. We had barbecues together our kids to play together like I get the plague in your grandkids just we we all became great friends. You have a beautiful great family, beautiful daughters are kind of grandkids now not even keep up with having you have now set up old. I think I'm hidden in the double digits here pretty soon you should be yeah I know that the memories of shooting the show, you know, I really don't have many memories of actual show itself because I'm in work mode and I'm right I'm thinking about the camera settings. I'm thinking about the lighting and things like that but yeah most of my memories about you guys are offset in the after were done filming were talking were standing around and and shooting the breeze about my diet.

My day that week we talked a lot about that because I was impressed with your cheat day out you had a net cabin. Oh my gosh like there's no way that man is going to shape any of the cheat they like this.

Yeah, that's another story for another time. So we'll just have to tell you man your impressive Priscilla Luxenberg and I now do it since I've seen you last week. You can't covet. We just finished one up now just recently call man camp where we bring small groups of guys down the camp in Georgia for a period of days and and we teach them about we talk about that eating healthy and writing as well as many other things, but it I member a few times during during the film we we I times are II can recall where I think there was moments there went up tasted to pray with you to pray for you and for the crew and then since that time, even some you know we don't talk often the conversations you know an opportunist pray for your family and and yeah that's what you say it in years since we shot the show if you can think back, it's almost been 10 years Nick crazy Lee seven years right and 1420 yeah some like that scram. So we carried on our relationship response with each other through Jackson phone calls in the you know and Tom's would get hard for me and I would reach out jeans and a net any price for me and you would be so readily available as a friend and and do that and and you know about being on the road and how hard to get being away from your family and the things that go through your hand and you have to deal with on the road and the thing you can't deal with because you're on the road that helps out a lot to have friends with faith like that you can call and then say a tough time here and totally receptive to be receptive to it and being there like a rock band. I love that about you.

I think that we will always be a touch because I feel the same so well alright so so let's transition to you. You might have a couple three questions here for me in the have no clue no idea what you're getting. So let's let's let's have some fun and then fire it with your first question. Well, my first you you learned Russian fleet to be able to stay in character correct. I learned enough words and put a few phrases get cited. I was not fluent in it, but I learned enough phrases to to to hopefully get people to that place where they did love to hate me. And so in fact took a quick funny stories with Lex Logan autograph signing while back in. This woman came up a little child in spoke fluent Russian. I'm like a man like I have a clue what she was saying and I like where everybody ignores should go away and she says that no single way she says some else. I look at her and make eye contact. She's glowing instead and I like them not really from Russia just to sloppy. She went from a glow to us cow I am easy to guess that she was you're not just part of my character and she goes, I will three hours here to meet you and your you know it so I burst into her bubble. She never got an autograph. Six hours in the so anyways I did learn some, but I was not fluent in that it lost another question about that when hard thing when when times when it became an issue with the family and whatnot well and and you mentioned you brought the work a fave now some may know what that means and all others may not. But essentially just me staying in character with what you're talking about and all that's that's why I know it's all good and and so I did that actually believe it or not three years post retirement. So when I walked away from the wrestling career. I still stayed in character 24 seven anywhere in public.

Now, not in private. But in public, and I explained to the family like I gotta protect the business and I gotta protect the character so you know what out at a restaurant or a movie theater you know wherever you know in the end and there they were reset. They were receptive good with all that receptive with it so often imagine that would be a cash it was.

It was Just the two most shows what was once a retard like okay I phase out of this thing goes like you been around a lot of people like I had a gym at the time, and I'm in the gym every day a 10 hours a day.

Talk with an accent walking one day go today you will put a good Minnesota twist to it. But, so I just slowly I just phased it out in NS arrested became more if you want to say exposed as entertainment.

Nobody really made a big deal out of this. I just slowly phased it out in now II joke with people and how well I've mastered the English language so awesome.

One more question.

You you ever have a match with anybody. Were you physically hurt yourself pretty bad and can continue, no not now were hurt myself and II had quite a number of's self-inflicted wounds, that's for sure.

I member I member my arm getting gas at a hockey arena in Michigan wrestling Lex Luther.

We've since kissed and made up now.

That's why we facilitate camp together, but I you know any of you ran my arm into it like the hockey boards and in any way. I got it. It got cut their other was a time you mention the best assembly is Magnum. I think it I think it may have actually been one of the best-of-seven and I want to say was in Cincinnati at the Riverfront Stadium. I think right where I had daft my head and it was so deep that that I me I was the only express I was Crimson red Army from Hallowell and and I had red tights with a red you know you probably member the hammer and sickle on the red tights my singlet, and after that some in the dresser will bring out my my my tights. It is just ringing like you be bringing out sweater waters ringing out like blotter item is just like blood red ad and it took me forever to get it stopped right it's up on the top my for it in and then I bent over to pick something up and and it started gushing out again, going everywhere. I know I probably should had stitches but you know the male ego in me. You know the suck it up. You know, pull your bootstraps up and never did get stitches.

Although I probably should have as women. Lipstick is right. I guess all scars but they love Scott but let me just say this to my very final match against a guy named Vader back. I do big fan Vader right. I do my very last match was actually here in Winston-Salem or truth. Radio network is located not far from here, and I he injured my neck fighting out on the floor. He had a history of a reputation of being reckless and hurting a lot a guys who still are actually certain moves of his that I just said I just I just got a happening with the Russian nightmare.

You do that another guys buddy close on his back ahead of my left arm went whatnot but literally a pinched nerve in my left arm went limp and completely numb for about three format could move I'm always one event to any rent you prefer to wrestle with because you guys had a good flow with each other yeah's great question. First one to comes minds working the Dragon steamboat he was hit we would call it a night off. You know you going there it was just like the most graceful dance you've ever seen between Ginger and Fred Astaire right. I mean it was really one thing to watch them all over the place here why Madigan yes it's really good due to he was right is Ricky is but so certainly silly Rick, stable, and every player. He was the consummate professional. He could bad joke.

All the times they can make a broomstick look good, because he made the loft look good and but he's another guy you knew you could just go in there just have a night off and it was not to be a struggle where where there were others where it was A's like Weiner where it was a struggle may not with him and Magnum TA even though it was a very is you were witness to is a very physical match but nevertheless we had great chemistry together.

And so we were able to really work well.

I fell well together as well.

So I say most the guys slap you think I had a pretty decent decent match with you long. Yup and one more that one who is your biggest rival career while giving years, II kind of your top three, when a mask out of the question. In that regard. Surely the best-of-seven Magnum TA.that's certainly one right the best-of-seven with TA and any other first ever Great American bashing you know Rick flair. My first ever match against FLAIR was certainly well similar to me. The turn to dust like you just not long ago to celebrate 35 year anniversary of of of your heel. The face turned comedy Dusty's rescue of the cage and dad and of the formation of the superpowers which leads me in the fourth and August 4 and final one, the wargames that match be superpowers for horsemen in the cuticle of road warriors spoiling certainly incredibly memorable workforce and community yeah I sound like a good match all of anyone or all of I I've interviewed an interview number different guys and in fact only Blanchard being being one of them and you and I said I just said I say this with people interview me another interviews go you could take a single match at a tagteam match, a six man ornate man and/or wargames, and it would matter, any combination of the four Horsemen you were going to have a grip most the time a great match that night in any combination of any of them. So yup yup so will great question. Sloppy on what appreciates you come in on on the show and and will all look forward to hopefully connect with you sometime. There over the Nashville area.

When I come over to visit those grandkids and we talked about it. Just need to do it match up our travel schedule. We didn't really do wait to see you.

Thank you so much. I will safety on the roads and thank you to the listeners tune into another episode of what I would call off and reminder. I love you and have a conversation like this with you. This is the Truth Network
