Thanks for listening and thanks for choosing the truth podcast network. This is the Truth Network. Once a world champion wrestler, now a champion for Christ. Once the Russian nightmare.

Now the devil's worst night in your tagteam partner, Noah keyed a call this time.

Welcome back to another episode of the man up, still with Yours truly the Russian nightmare hoping on the devil's nightmare storming the gates of hell and building the kingdom of God is so flag is a fun doing these shows that in a value here a little after the background. That's because I got my man here Bill Turner in studio will be bill welcome to the man up show.

No, thank you so much for having me. I'm looking so looking forward to this bomb. It's a red out right out of the gate.

Those who listen to the show and just heard your voice or you are right away can say this guy needs his own radio show what you don't know is he has his own radio show will will talk about that but but magister just I just an audit is truly an honor to have you on and on, been a fan of yours. Most my life and I'm proud to say that I know you better now. Yet what what's it was so give little Baxter… And when we first introduced. When did you first become a wrestling fan many years ago along with when I was probably single digits.

6 or seven mom allow my gather was a huge wrestling fan. Her favorite was Dustin Rose. That man can dreamed power to three things right now. If you feel to emanate up. I found the threefold lot you got it you got it we would go to the bailout where I'm from a South Carolina some immutability so I did it just us and in the Township Auditorium in Columbia Columbia, South Carolina. I was weekly for me and I just grew to really yeah I'm Mondays and Thursdays is what we did so in my my uncle was a police officer in Columbia so we, when we get to the Township. We can have backstage passes so we got to realize that early age that it was it was entertainment. It was in everything that we were projecting or portraying it to be. You think that out and young. He answered me that that made it even better because I could see these guys have real talent and noticed one thing to get in the brawl it out right now but right to keep from hurting someone so they could continue working, but make in the illusion that you beaten him to a cane move right it to tell a story because I'm a storyteller that was part of our job was to be a storyteller's not only a stuntman and an actor and in a psychologist that we were storytellers and so so you figure that out at a young age, but but still update you absolutely that this made it better for me because I realize okay then not superheroes in on account accounts of the storylines because in a one person would win and Augustine in the next mesmerism of women love that insane guys wrestling I might do something get on the same car, what is going on which which by the way, and for the record ways. It was typically not supposed to do my now there were times when just it just had to happen that no guy guy's car broke down or just have a ride to the town and you know you working to make you miss miss a show or miss Mrs. you know is matching so you throw them in the car with you and and and and hopefully none of the fans you know recognized to resolve the fact you got out of the scene, Moses told me is run in the back seat and like it, but I think that's right. That's right, he could still hate him.

Even though you what you want in the front seat. He could hate them in the backseat. Well, and I remember I actually not too long ago with Woodrow past the ballerina there in Augustine Georgia and and and and.just recently I was by the Columbia Township Auditorium to United autograph signing recently next to the Dorton Arena where I debuted way back when in doubt brought back to a host of memories to the Dorton Arena, Raleigh, North Carolina but so so Dusty was a favorite. Did you have a favorite match that really kinda comes to mind on one, the one that took me to where I realize times were changing was Dusty Rhodes and Russell number two they took on the road warriors no less than two dozen roses came out in the road and I got dark music started and I knew I'd made it whatever I knew then that the times were changing. There is a shift in progress.

The resolution oh we got here for real be little so you know, but they did pay homage to the knee from wrestling to bionic elbow from dust around yes yes a couple minutes. I may take a couple bit it. My mother was like she just sat down. She was screaming and then she does. She was there with you. Yes it is. That's his name. She loved that all is part of our lives. He does love the love the atmosphere from because she was the one with the purse swing in the person so my good thing in the face of the wrestlers and that was my mom place and not a lot, but when you're embarrassing me. I don't want to get hurt. Mama sit on South that's that's amazed I know we could talk entire hour or know about wrestling stories and and and in that whole genre in the course you what I did and I appreciate but I appreciate you being in a benefit and even all these years later Nichols with you on Sunday Russell Hawk enamel and you read that Jane you know around his heart's throat will make in you slowly move at top rope and the first thing I did, I went on the at his foot. Yes, the on site to make sure you know you were joking about, and I mean he just had like two toes studs and that all Micah well so it we were just for the audience we were and what we call a double chain. Ivan and I listen classic batches gets the road warriors may mean we match up fairly well, though I wish I was a big guy, but is still slightly smaller but we hit we had some shy say memorable matches against the Legion of doom road warriors… But what's interesting that you know I talk about put the chain around the neck. What's interesting is I'm reminded of a matching I was staying in Chicago when it was and it was a chain match and art guy wrapped around his neck and same thing through over the top rope you portray the image of joking about hanging up. What I didn't know is in The rule of thumb is get your your couple your fingers and Lisa between your neck and the chain so it doesn't cinch up and you can breathe type well it was, it had already singed instinct and do that and so I'm working at chain I'm looking at the crowd. You know the bad guy. He's squirming down there like wow he's like doing a great job so syllabus J 12. Little did I know the more I moving he sensed even tighter. He said he was about two seconds from passing out. When I released it or let it go, Eddie, Eddie was able to catch his breath. So for all those you know think all that wrestling is fake well want to tell you why there's a there's a real side to it. Whether it's a chain match a cage match at all or or any other kind match.

You know it's not exact science guys really do get hurt. I mean, from next to broken shoulders to broken these steps, you name it. It is entertainment as you said, but guys really get hurt but take your and radial yourself though.

I let Alyssa so don't give a little quick backdrop on on who Bill Turner is and what are you doing what you do and we will have a morning show on just on Monday mornings homegrown WCC 99.9 FM, Aiken, South Carolina around the web. CW cries not, shows called your morning manna and we pick Monday because that was the most joyful day and we bring joy we do a lot of the little games and where is this a fun is fun to our show and we try to get people joy for the week yeah like it because yeah it's amazing is that I don't know that the stats off the top of my head. How many people like come Sunday night are already regretting Monday morning to your point will wake up Monday morning go to work again.

You know, kind of, kind of thing right.

But if but nevertheless EIA does feel money makes the world around you have to labor the Bible actually talks about that. You know I mean if you don't work at me. There was no was clear that I be insane if you don't work in you.

You don't eat nothing but an my justifying I was when we first started five years now. Okay I was a newer, Christian, and I would get fired up on Sunday and then Monday and I'm still still have a fire so I wanted to share that asset.

We will not talk about any news… Good news we going to do fun stuff and silly stuff and we all change our voices and we have word of the day which is everybody enjoys yeah well that's that's that's pretty cool.

So we have that a consummate wrestling, with the radio in common and hotels to admit your ego spent time with you and your lovely bride day number to don't tell us about your family to have two beautiful girls in my one son. My son is aircraft mechanic up and Indiana will Cincinnati airport need a light follow me to the Air Force and need a lot more with his Air Force experience an idea, but he moved his family in Indiana and they're doing great mind. Our youngest daughter is a nurse. My oldest daughter is a schoolteacher. So how all this kind of the service, but thank you for serving by the law and other all in in the business of really serving others is a main there good humans in a way a good people have good hearts and I truly love when they say they love you and and and and your bride day on Dana. She is actually a cohost on my program professionally. She is a hairdresser on cheese that in mind when I had here so on. See, I was having a well. She still has you.now she just she shines the dome and I guess the buffer outside to make sure when I'm told on something in the same hisses and hold on Monday to check to make sure you don't have any. I love it I love it well and ended and then she got it were a fan of the Russian nightmare and about. I don't know the timeline.

Written just a year ago or so we we are past cross with the updated meeting on Crescent auto dealership brining Jimmy Johnson. The owners brought me in for a book signing there and and you showed up and I love the story you showed up to what will you are on a mission.

M. C. The number one.com because you are number one reached out to Damon. It was on to do no good prospective family law is that they may even built on from 99.9 unload common meet Nikita and we know we listened in a police Council family and on but I went there mainly to see the check you out. Make sure you know yeah I want to say hello to you were real. The real deal. And after knowing who you feel the same when I do. If you going to do it for God sent an numbing that's what I was looking for and when I saw that in you name it, she's are you still dancing have a lot of animus that the list is so is as though it was just a blessed day.

I felt very proud to have met you so that you even though you were there for book signing. He was so on sharing Jesus and believe in detail so as not to Russian nightmare anymore and and and and I met a worker whether it's a book signing at it at an auto dealership for you know what you allege in savanna, Connor, you know, in a wrestling wrestling show rain and I do my best it to be salt and light to that world and and and if I see opportunities whether it's to pray for others or or share Encouraging Word or plant the seed about Jesus in the heart and I'm going to do that and self so that sublets that was fast for little bit so we we we we met there and then you came to a service that that idea you came to map conference read Pastor Paul Baptist Church. We actually have to have it, so I hope to send that Kelly set up that's right.

Okay see you help me set up the conference why you did come to man camp and and and what was what was that experience needs to come up with bypass to conference to the conferences and requirement to come to mankind.

You can just have so got pushing her to come to You can what was the man camp experience like for you when I when I mentioned that you'd mentioned man camp and mentioned that my wife and I started checking it out to see because I told yes and look I got a bad leg. I don't know that's not not sizing well. He took that one excuse but there it was okay and I never been to camp me around and grow up in a church setting of the church camps and write them. Neither yeah and I did.

I did experience military camp and I want to fund the following and I don't want told us that it's open, they got only got to stand in the same restroom of the pupils go play at 5 AM so I said you know I'm going. She's are you going to suggest on going so set it up when had signed up and I have to tell you, when I pulled in and I saw the fellows and I immediately felt you to consider back it out though, at the right but thank thank you date Dana, thank you for encouraging the man to come because you know your last signed up real early.

Yes. Not this time in the Lintel monies away so I plenty time to think about it on the spur of the moment that maybe the devil started playing little and that's basically what you not listen going to go. You can be on when I got there I felt I felt totally awkward and I say that not in a bad way. I just felt. I'm used to people say is built there. It was not Yahoo identity isn't that were not in fact we try to have that we don't really care about what it is you do right is most men. Let's face it, most man's identity is in their job. Their jail be.

That's how they identify themselves.

That's almost like one frequent already do for living over you for looking money that Effect. I preferred not one guy brings any that at camp.

Okay so that was the I was little different, took me down a notch was evident that humbled you a little bit likely that's that's the word, and it Get more humble and more humble as the day as the day progressed so okay so bit so so just a view to summarize the camp experience because as we love to call it nonevent and experience what would you something. Let me to say this for. Here's what I know, I know it impacted you because I know Iver you from others what they saw. They saw changes in unit as they were. They saw changes in fact are very last camp we had. We had four more guys at that camp because of the changes they saw in you to give you what you like 1/62 if you can. 92nd summary of what the camp did for you will easily is freedom that took a lot of I was still tote and a lot of my old self and my Christian walk and allow me to relieve some of the burdens that I was carrying.

Let some things go from my past that I was guilty of and I never I never forgave myself much less. I just didn't put it out there I was, I was allowed to put it out there and get it all for me. So freedom is the best way to describe so you are able to let a lot of things go brought it and we, that that you know part of our goal at the camp is to say this teach, train and equip empower men send them back home for all the ladies listening out there are go Lex Luger co-facilitation along with an amazing staff and volunteers. But our goal is to send men home better equipped to be godly men, godly husbands and godly fathers and and make a difference make an impact on their families and coworkers and others that there around and and many many many testimonies.

We just see the miracles of God happen through camp and and and and all that and so so you you have this amazing encounter.

It can't be come back home life is is is different now in and yes with family and friends in my life because I went to each of them with what God laid on my heart went to East each person that I cared about that. He told me I needed to go to make sure our relationship was right and everyone know forgave me and deceptive now has my life in perfect sense and regulations.

Bill your human right that is allowing perfect is allowed.

Me and my wife especially if we have disagreements and justice disagreements and not arguments. I even given tools now as I am and how to how to nurture that relationship with her children and other others yes and that's part of what you know that's part of it. That's part of what our goal is to it. And you know if you're out there today listening that you know man camp.info is is that website to go to Cola.and in connect to you. Can I encourage if you're fiancé together and inherent a newlywed go to the can you been married six years go to the candidate been married 26 years ago to say on that note, so Gary L, a retired pastor who is 73 years old, married 50 years came to camp and not only was he impacted and able to let some things go. He's actually been back twice. Bill to staff in Québec volunteered and he's just such a guy godly man, but if that matter what your HELOC know if you're 18 years and older. You know, come, come, come on out and and you know so so the man camp so that we do we facilitate these men camps are what you envision.

Like for fruit for yourself this question if you were to say, here's what I'm doing to impact the kingdom of God the most.

This transition to that question. What would you say presently you're doing to impact the kingdom of God. The most listening on my work on radio and with this radio station and actually sharing my experience man camp an opportunity to share it with three different entities like churches and on. I never done that has opted to go to some churches and speak as so okay so I'm really excited about that because that's really out of my comfort zone. Okay, now you know people think late on the radio talking on the radio is a lot different a lot different than talking to a crowd and a nine.

I get that is with me.

Bill when I first sure speak in front of front of Christ speaking in front because I mean you wrestle for the 2030 40,000 people talk in front of a camera on a microphone to an announcer or something but it's still different than stepping up onto a platform standing at a pulpit or something like that so so you get the officer got his scotch out your comfort zone so the camp got you outside your village and got you outside of the zone, but that's enabled you to have more confidence to step out even further outside your comfort zone and do some things you you you might not otherwise have done.

What would you say you'll just kind in our last couple minutes.

Your what would you say to those listening out there, so maybe this'll try to figure out what can I do to impact the kingdom of God with what suggestion would you give to them.

Let it let everybody know you're willing to do because a lot of people made him, and on this amount radio program needs help. We need someone to run the board consistently. So one of us have to not know that attention of what was sent in a right right some assembles that what can I do to help your ministry or what can I do to get in the this type of ministry. What can I do to help the church you let people know you're willing to help and fill put you to work well him him if that's it.

That's a great thought. In fact it you know the use of the board so everyone has different gifts and talents right, you may not sit behind a microphone or put a headset on, but you might be able to work a sound board or something like that love editing editing. Whether it's in a fact that a conversation with a friend of my Bill Murdoch and have another friend he only who who has a hit on the head of financial need for surgery but wish didn't have the money. Well II mentioned it to my friend Dylan is like hang on.

We can only check with the nonprofit beyond Borders and found out that they had a surplus of Durkin to be able to exercise glee. I think Galatians 6 to write bear the burdens of one another thing I think in and they're going to be able to invest and so the amount of money he only needed in order to pay pay the doctor get on the calendar schedule and get the neck surgery he needs because he is in dire pain so just another way that you can how he might be financially might be with your gifts and your talents and your skills. Whether it's in church are not in church right so well that that's good advice. So just look at the saw what he says look at gifts and talents you have in and see how you can give that back to mankind right absolutely my gift with my marketing I love hello creating and sharing my vision in the paper.

You know, like you, you will fly to that level spent on I can help which I appreciate. By the way, it is what he's referring to is is a man up conference her back and in a consult at Bill's home church now man up conference and and preaching in his church and and so he was able to to arrange that and set all that up so I could come take it South Carolina and and further impact name not only the body of Christ but those who need Christ right now so well.

I can't thank you enough for one just am glad God crossed our path and now were able to team up and work it now. We will build the tagteam together since we don't have to see Ivan and I beating up the road.

Where is now you and I can beat up the devil and in all of his little minions and demons right so that's right that's right that's right well hey I look forward to whatever God has in store in the future and and and I want to thank you for all of you listers for being so faithful to to dial into her listen you tune into the podcast retreat radio network and and I just catch the man up and up shows the Q&A with coal off. Perhaps this dialer then God bless you will be with you another time when I would like to challenge each of you to consider spending five days with less liver and I am pursuing the heart of your listening will send your manhole with God godly husband's and God you give them your blessing.
