You will not want to miss part two today as we talk about some of the books he's written and just more of his military career. His personal life. Join me today on it's time to man up with Lieut. Gen. Jerry Boykin general. I let me just say welcome back.

It's time to man up, but let's just open up with this we can ended the show last week talking about the difference between religion and relationship and how your mom just greatly impacted your heart and in helping you understand you know what the Lord loves you. You can fast you've repented you've received him into your life. He's not rejecting you and and you talked as well, which I thought was astounding it was to you. You mentioned you know how you broke down during one year of your military what we call it the operation operations. Thank you. I was at up drawing a blank there and and how you like, you know, there's no God and God's enough. There's no God, there's no hope in and that's just brought you to a new place. I would say deeper level of of your faith went when that happened as well. Right absolutely did you know you never know how God can use the things that occur in your life and of course I was I was such a difficult situation for me there seem amended I lost 16 men over there.

You know, and have much faith tested and rattled like that. But in doing that and allowing that to happen, allowing me to go through that God is given me a testimony now that I share with other men that I think in many ways brings them hope because it they are thinking of the things that they've been through and the times that Dave questioned whether God really exist or not and I think at some point Everyman's question, at least if he can question God's existence.

He questioned whether God hears them.

God cares about. Yes he does. Yeah, I would 100% agree with that guy. Where are you aware were you works for those you who pursue that, you know, he certainly has been my experience reveals himself whether it's been in my own life. Part of my testimony or other men stories and testimonies I've heard and you bring up a very valid point. General where there's I like to say this way. We've all heard it. I think before, but where there's no test there is no testimony.

And so you are right, we are going to be tested is whether it's you know you in this particular case in a military career or or just that person who's out there in the marketplace.

Or, you know, raising a family or you know nobody is immune to a wry work like you said work were all going to be tested to some degree, and then it's a matter of how we how we handle those tests right indeed and remember him and you said it earlier.

You know where we are in a spiritual battle. We are in an absolute spiritual battle. We need to understand we need to understand that when you come into relationship with Christ you're going to target on and but you don't have to be afraid of what you have to do is submit yourself to the authority of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and then expect that the enemy is going to target you. But don't be afraid of. Go back every day is like putting on the whole armor of God was really about two things. When Paul wrote that in the PP go back and look at it you can piece this together. It was about two things. It was about having up prayer life where you have a you're constantly communicating with the Lord Jesus Christ and then knowing the word and you your your your constantly reading the word and absorbing what it means if you do those two things spiritual warfare you're going to walk through it with your head high going to be victorious mass that's great. If I sell listeners really dialed in on that one or or will list that again at some of the best advice in any of us could receive and is again the reality is rated it is.

I mean if anyone knows what warfare you know about a 36 and half years in the military and then translate that from from what you experienced in the physical into into the realm of the spiritual and knowing that it there isn't any one of us that isn't subject to it to the spiritual warfare especially especially once as you said you surrender your life to Jesus and then the target is on your back and in and here we go, and I mean it's it's in the sense if you want to say it's it's game on and let it look generally ask you something.

You know, people asked me all the time you don't one of my favorite memories from wrestling.

What are you what are some of the highlights from wrestling and NI. I mentioned that to say this, and in no way no way am I trying to even try to compare my wrestling career with your military career, but in a sense that be like comparing apples to oranges, but I'm guessing that there are some parts of your military career. I'm thinking that would really stand out. I know unless you were talking about, you know that that the Black Hawk down movie and how that illustrated will want one of your op. One of the operations but let me ask you as I know you're very decorated really in my eyes war hero. I means everything from Purple Heart to bronze Star meet others. Some some of those awards or or some things from your military career that really just cannot stand out for you.

You know, people asked me what was the most rewarding operation that you run and it is not at all what people are expecting in 1983 I was sent into Sudan to rescue five missionaries that were being held captive by rebels punch that came out of Ethiopia into Sudan and and I got the got over there and started helping the Sudanese special operations people, which I had worked with before put together a plan to rescue these missionaries and when they we got it together and we gave them the weather we give them the intelligence and we rehearsed them and all that we said you ready to go now go get him and and nine and they said to me what you are going with a Sgt. in the course I had no authority to go only operation I can only prepare them but I said yes I'm going so you know what you sanitize a case like this, I went with them. We we get the top of that mountain were these missionaries are being held, and finally they were up there. They were up there evangelizing a literally a loincloth primitive tribe and and and I will tell you that we hit the top of that mountain. The first Sudanese off helicopter was killed but after that we owned it.

And I think we killed 17 of them. 18 and but we got the five missionaries and I looked at how those people were living.

I looked at the primitive way that they were living on top of that mountain highway.

They had their children up there. They were not there at the time they were owner only because it was in July world only their children were being homeschooled on top of that mountain other parents and it was print. No running water, no electricity, just no plumbing corrugated. I guess you would call it a hot how they were living and I literally was thinking got out. Don't ever call me.

Sadly I was saying God please hold only this But we got off the top of the mountain. We got him back to Jubilee flew back into the what is today the capital of South woman Cuba and got them back to their base down there and and and and then I got a call list to get out of there as quickly as you can. The media is on the way and when will you know there were any Americans involved in this, so they sent applying down to the airfield air out of the embassy and I got down there get on the plane and saw this cloud of dust coming down the road and it felt almost too late to got me in a short arm out the soundwave and I stopped and I got climb back down and I walked over to the fence when I got to the fence.

I could see was a Land Rover in a pool of this Land Rover pulled up and stopped in the five missionaries got out and they were all weeping and I walked out through the gate and said what's the matter, and they said Sir you you left before we had an opportunity to thank you lost a look Hanneman acid know the look on your faces all thanks on there's nothing that will give me greater joy than just looking into your face and they said well we we don't have anything to give you this in the handyman Bible and all five of signed and Bible is a precious thing. I had to run out of the house in a foreign grandma, grandmothers, mama, my grandfather's watching that Bible is meaningful to not at all what people would think would be my most rewarding operation is sounds like a real treasuries you still have that with with their five signatures that's that's amazing. I mean we could still probably 10 shows with just some of your stories and I know is your mentioning that one particular story. There's others you shared with me on on course one on a personal level but then others, you know, even from a platform and I'm serious and I know we could fill 10+ shows just with some of the remarkable story some of the ones you would tell people would know the names and they would get that one is remarkable. You know, in a sense, five unnamed missionaries that nobody other than Jesus probably recognizes their names right in yourself, but while coming that's just remarkable limit. Let me ask you mentioned the Sudan.

It was 1983 it we fast forward to today.

There is some asked some real remarkable things going on in the Middle East right in terms of peace treaties with with Israel. In fact I'm not mistaken. Sudan B and B, and one of them, it, but there's some remarkable things going on right down the Middle East right we could regards the penalties dominated and not anything that I expected to see in my lifetime.

Now that we have the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, and soon to come will be Sudan, which have all signed peace agreements with with Israel and was brokered by the by Donald Trump and live US administration, but we're going to see more of this world to see. Countries like possibly Morocco, possibly Saudi Arabia and this is an incredible thing. Given that they have been in literally at war with Israel so many times and for so long now. I think that they are they they are recognizing sort of the old Middle East saying the enemy of my enemy is my friend and they recognizing the truth and that now because their common enemy is is really is Iran runs a common enemy of Iran is that they are the she is there.

Also, the Persians are not Arabs and they see the growing threat of Iran in that area that part of the world against Islam and against Arabs, so they are aligning themselves with the most powerful military in all of the Middle East. Obviously that's his son I think was phenomenal for the for those who aren't aware of. If you consider that. I guess you want to see the size of Israel versus the size of many of the other Middle Eastern nations and and and yet how God is just sovereignly had his hand on the nation that he loves right on Israel, and for them even mention the military to be able to do hold off some of the attackers over the years is just nothing short of just the hot, righteous, miraculous, and just God can't be explained in any other terms, especially when you when you dig into the details of the for example, just the Yom Kippur war, 73, and and you realize how outnumbered the Israelis actually were yesterday. 11. The battle and it can be explained in no other terms in spiritual terms and God. These are his chosen people. God has his hands on and they promise them of the wind when when they were re-created when the nation of Israel was re-created on 14 May at 4 o'clock in the afternoon and all of the 1948 and never be defeated again. That's exactly what it happened.

They've never been defeated. Even though they fought against overwhelming odds and you know God bless America.

Because the reason that I think that we've in the nation, we've we've been is because we've honored Israel and it was Harry Truman against all advice from all of his. He was the first to recognize Israel as a sovereign state and and that's because he went back to his his Southern Baptist roots.

Remember from his Sunday school lessons that the user got certain people and that their nation would be re-created and he knew that he would be playing a part in history. That's remarkable and biblically as is for Alyssa is not from a amine Scripture is pretty clear those who bless Israel will be blessed those who curse Israel will be cursed and I for wine and I know you do too.

Certainly want to error on the side of the other side of the blessing got a lot of the other side of cursing right cell that's exactly right will let me ask you that I know I mentioned Jan mention some of the course. We didn't really talk about. Guess I just know you your level of humility. Every years with all that you've accomplished all that you have done you know in your lifetime and and some of mentioning some of the different award awards, the distinguished awards that you received it a habit you haven't even really reference them or not. And I I get it. That's just a part of your humility, but I do want to get to this in our time remaining today. Your your author and and I know you written a number of books I just I just wrote down three and maybe if you want to pick out one of those in and/or talk about one of those. But here's the three I picked out, never surrender a soldier's journey to the crossroads of faith and freedom. Man-to-man rediscovering masculinity in a challenging world.

These are great titles.

By the way general. The warrior soul five powerful principles to make you a stronger man of God and so any one of those three stand out for you or which one would you talk about yeah never surrender is my autobiography and it. Much of what you and I've talked about in the last two days only last two programs is is captured in the never surrender, but my latest book is man-to-man and that that book it was written with a growing passion that I have for men and America because of Nikita is you and I have discussed in and I think as you recognize, probably as much as anybody in ministry today men are being decimated. Masculinity is being denigrated and are confused as to what they're supposed to be in the whole idea behind the man-to-man book is to just lay out sort of five things that I believe God is called a man to be in its in the wallet is biblically based.

I wrote this book to speak to Mandan and aren't necessarily biblically illiterate.

Maybe they are new in Christ and they just haven't haven't really learned the Bible yet so we talk on talk a lot, is very direct on my part.

My publisher said look you know you will get your backside kicked left over this book and I said yeah I notice my world will be so is very direct. It is not politically correct… Talk about stuff in there that you know that the left is just this going crazy over not talk about it and in practical terms, and determine and will will understand. Look out talk about the fact that you know the Bible does not say, that shalt not kill. It says it shall not murder. There are times when when I see you know in my career.

You know when you have to make a decision letting him take a life are not in the real world and our first responders are police live in today right and and and also just every every citizen when not when your family is threatened when your life is threatened my brakes and heroes talk about those things, from a biblical perspective but from a practical knife, but what I'm trying to do is give Amanda understand that you you came out of the womb meant to be a warrior. Now you need to saddle up to get your armor owned and you need to be what God called you to be is not a passive guided as no standards are no transcendent calls you have a transcendent calls.

If you have a family. If you have a you have faith in Jesus Christ. Transcendent calls. It is greater than you, and you need to be willing to serve for two need to be willing to sacrifice for God for bid, but you may even be called upon to die for one day. Just remember that you know the disciples gave it all literally sacrificed their lives were abandoned. They were following the man of Galilee, so I just will man to to get back to be in Mandan understand toxic. The word toxic should never be combined with masculinity, toxic is one thing and some men are toxic.

No question but that is not because of their masculine is because it is because her outside God's will well and yeah and I purchased speaking and things really I love about you that you are very direct and in you not you dance around the subjects of the topics you know your ears, your speaking, your heart tonight. I know your heart I feel I know your heart, chief Nunnally love the Lord would just love to call call men out and in your very bold and the things you say and you're right we we are honored again relatable world government relatable page their path there and that no one this this show.
