Before the famous altercation with Goliath, when David expressed anger at the blasphemous giant, one of his embarrassed older brothers camped at the battle scene furiously derided him. But King Saul heard about David, and astonishingly, the king allowed the teenager to fight Goliath. Saul even put his tunic and armor on him. Saul was a tall man, but David wasn't, and the king's armor didn't fit. Struggling to function in the ill-fitting battle garb, David removed it and faced Goliath his way – depending upon God's might. David recognized he couldn't succeed while wearing something that didn't fit him. How many try to "conquer a Goliath" while wearing something that doesn't fit? The conditions of our loved ones serve as formidable giants to us, and we can't fight them while trying to be, do, and act like something that doesn't fit us. David faced Goliath with his familiar sling – and his even more familiar trust in God's abilities. While not a trained soldier, David’s love and trust provided the courage to face a giant. Most of us aren't trained medical professionals - and don't have to be. When facing our giants, we can be ourselves and, with love and trust, remain confident that the battle is the Lord's. “And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord's” – 1 Samuel 17:47 (KJV)

We all know or collective social awareness, cultures, notes part of every pop-culture everybody ghost stories about but living approaches will differ stippled as caregivers. David got there he was taken some stuff to his brothers.

There he got there he was angry at all the blasphemy that was coming out of Goliath and seedless army of Israel, just there to scuttle listening to it. They were all Judah kept up a been there for some time.

David bound off about it.

He said hey you Do with this stuff it at his brother, his older brother got very angry with it. If you read the chapter so before you find out is the oldest brother who Samuel the prophet for Saul when he went to Jesse's family to anoint a new king of Israel. Remember the story that God had become displeased with King Saul. Eddie sit Samuel this mission to Jesse's family. Jesse came from the tribe of Judah sulking from the tribe of Benjamin and Jesse had the suds in the first 40. Saul was Elia who big strapping fella good looking guy and Samuel said hey I think that's the God, the Lord told Samuel no, you're looking at the house. We Artie got that place was Saul.

Saul was legal. Tall Felicity was head and shoulders, but everyone else is generally look Kingsley God was looking for some different and so Elia what he heard David Davis, the runt of the litter. He was the youngest of the family. I don't think he was really a big guy either and Elia just was like. Here's his big brother talk to little brother and I believe you will have a big brother.

You know what that's like it. So Elia was not happy that David comes up there. It is located starts ballot off Saul heard about it. Saul brought David tomb and David said he will defy Goliath and crazily enough Saul agreed to let them do it nor thought it odd, but okay. And so they put his tunic in order only and will go to sit about the baths. Kid's a crazy story if you think about and David puts his defaulted River salsa Taulbee affidavit once it so Dave is wearing this or birds that didn't fit that he could move around and he was struggling to the function of the stuff in it he could do it in. They took it off and sit in a lease or fight Goliath is only useful to depend on God's point isn't it.

David recognize that the he could do this and succeed while wearing something to didn't feeling what I will be asking as a caregiver. How many of us try to fight Goliath while wearing something that doesn't fit the conditions of our loved ones is caregivers seem rather formidable Giants to us. Don't you think and we can't fight the blood trying to be doing and act like something that doesn't fit us that have been guilty of this many times and have tried to wear things that that work mind to get in there.

Mix it up with doctors and in medical providers and so forth that I would. I would learn the vocabulary but I really didn't understand what I was talking about that I needed to keep my mouth shut and realize that this was not my particular battle to fight.

I did need to go in there dressed himself that the didn't fit or if I was notified I wasn't a fight it in a conventional think seed Saul was putting conventional armor on David in an unconventional fight and how many of us where conventional armor, thinking that this is the way we gotta do it. But where an unconventional fight.

The David faced Goliath with this league. If you notice he didn't even take a sword into battle. He ended up killing Goliath was old sortie duct about with this sling and is rock and that he killed it with his own sort, and so he went out there trusting in God's ability snub him and David wasn't a trained soldier, but his love and his trust in God provided the courage to face the judgment you and I are trained medical professionals. Most of us were not trained mental health experts or anything.

Things for the most part by large but we don't have to be okay. That's the good news. We don't have to be. I don't have to be a brain search okay when facing our Giants. We can just be ourselves and with love and trust remain confident that the battle belongs to the Lord. I got a buddy buddies since past waves a great friend and I remember he became the, the director of a billion-dollar project with the state of Tennessee. It was it was a huge promotion for and he called me up and he said Benefiel feel a bit overwhelmed and the end he was. He was well qualified for the job. This is that he bit of that program for low time he understood it, but he yelled, taking the helm of this was a big deal and I reminded him of the old days and years and years ago used to run a pizza shop and I asked of us it did. You know how to build a pizza oven civil will and I said you know you don't have to know how to build a pizza oven to run a pizza shop.

He stopped for a moment and it he he got the point that he did not have to know how to do everything you have all this is that board and everything else. Sometimes he could you step into that place and know who to call to get things done who to delegate. That's what leaders do they know who to do symbol for the team and who to call David was not a trained warrior to you becoming a great warrior but at the time just a kid. He had fought off lie about lines and wolves and bears. Whatever you do as he guarded his family. She peered fought off predators, but who did he know to call good question is it.

Of course, he called on the Lord.

He was convinced of this. So I ask you, we don't have to know everything.

Who do you call we don't have to know how to set a bold. We don't know we don't have to know how to operator or to do this would have to have a degree in pharmacology weekly. We know who to call and most importantly, we know that we call upon the Lord and that's our journey is caregivers is that we don't have to go into these battles was real, generates wearing something that doesn't fit us try to be something that were not in the Scripture verse annual 1747. Listen, this is all this assume that this is what David said all this assembly shall know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear from the battle is the Lord's. Doesn't that seem like it applies to us is caregivers would you say that that's a good thing to keep in her mind as we face the real giants we face every day is caregivers battle was the Lord who serve the think about as we go into battle every day is it feels like that for us this and whether you're dealing with the enormous giant of Alzheimer's, autism, addiction, whatever else you're dealing with the battle is that this is hope for the caregiver.
