So this man came out there with the crew it I was asked all this was going on and he came out with his crew and and she was off on tour or doing something whatever but she comes back and he had cut these trees back pretty significantly. It it it looked pretty severe, actually look pretty harsh and she had a meltdown. I mean she really was upset about this and and call the tree and and really kind of lit into a and made him stop.

Another test of and here's this guy, this veteran diagnosis business and he listen to this woman, very famous woman with a lot of money. All this Stuff, and he listen to her berate him about his business and all that stuff and she was emotional, hysterical of all the things that he quietly said you don't understand it, or stay with the sky look like next year and how this is going to affect these trees for their life and they parted ways that I'd I don't know whatever happened there was ever any kind of reconnection but the next year those trees look spectacular. I mean it was stunning. What they look like and it the old man knew what he was doing. He simply knew his business and he knew what he was doing and it just I don't know for whatever reason is that I can still see those trees are cut back so sharply and severely admitted they did look bad. They did look all but you should see him the next spring in the Springs.

After that, the, the transformation was just extraordinary that think about that a lot. When I think about us as caregivers and when we sometimes catch a glimpse of ourselves in the midst of the challenges and I would imagine that many of us feel like those trees that were just cut so severely and we look so pitiful and permanently damaged. Are we able to trust that God knows what he's doing like that tree surgeon like that. I think I've been doing this his whole life. He knew this Eddie and he calmly listen to the fist histrionics of this very famous person. You don't understand this way.

Just wait. I don't know. I never ever found out. Mica said what what she did and how she responded when she saw it at my don't know. I moved on with my life and I never went back and had that conversation again and next time I see her. Maybe I will, but I know this that I saw and I was stunned and I think that as caregivers we we are so locked into what were seeing at the moment it looks so bleak. I talked to a friend yesterday and looking it with with situations with her parents and she's like my life is over and I was able to just just listen quietly respond no it's not any more than any of us as caregivers.

This is our life as we care for someone. It's not necessarily an easy life. It is not something that we we love doing, but it's not a silly bad life you and just like those trees.

I've had people when the story about the Lord is in a time of desperation I had found in my office late one evening I found out crack that somebody could put that many, many years ago that I say now I don't know why That you don't follow things and plan on a technical boy but That and I place another door in a document grasping for anything I went to the door and there is extra learning. We got practices, got set I believe it that some and Hannah knowledge current direct that prayer and I gave my life to the Lord is the beginning of how long will knowledge but that was currently getting along well. Depression have been for many many years and he made his answer song. Those make something beautiful my life. Indeed, this great story and I think that hopefully will be an encouragement folks who who have deposited the word of God into people's lives in you never know what he's going to use or what he's going to recall to mind was someone in our our job is to be faithful just to share it and have that story that you view Steve because I know that a lot of people right now are indeed didn't listen the show. There struggling with depression there. There are so beaten down that there is no end in their people listen so that if considered taking their life and making very dark choices and and one of things I say about family caregivers is that the isolation were in leads to very dark thoughts, and this is why I at one of the reasons I do the show because this network is able to get into places that maybe others can't. And there are people who are enlisting right now in prison and and and so forth an end.

So we wanted to be able to provide a way that people can hear this great gospel in and in a way they can understand and that isolation in those dark thoughts, so thank you for reminding us of that. Those you just now joining us, Linda to give her husband with Alzheimer's and her husband was such a wonderful person of support and and love and acceptance with her and she did not feel beautiful as she did not feel that she was doing much of anything other than struggling and in dark places and now she's been taking care of him. These 12 years with Alzheimer's and this is a very this is a painful place and that it just is and and I think that I speak for all that are listening is that we we recognize that we see the magnitude of what you you have to look at and deal with, and we hurt with those of us who know what it's like to care for someone who is struggling mightily and were losing them.

It's it is a it is a very painful thing and so I would say that we mourn with those of morning.

We agree with those who grieve in our hope is is not that somehow who they were going to you don't get happy happy happy all the time time time they were going to get our blessing break through and all the stuff is you hear somebody say from from the TV pulpits and so forth. When Lori got a breakthrough in a breakthrough came at the cross that puts all of this in perspective, and that's what gives us the courage to trust and that we can wait. As I said about that tree surgeon told way to separate, and I don't know she had the patience to do it or not I don't know if she what she thought when those things came back and explain, but I know what I saw 100 bothered us all that it was like while this is Linda. I would say to you if a tree surgeon. If a tree got in Nashville, Tennessee gives that concept how much more does our heavenly father when he looks achievement as you go through this what's what's another song that mean something to you as you go through this journey with your husband on Saturday and I heard that treasure you provided couple weeks ago and that that had become one that I and I play when I got p.m., when I'm fit my thin client.

And now I now play that become a good one, but on the old Blessed assurance and the thing God I love the Simpson and I know as I thought about this over and over. You think about live radio shows and so forth. So many of the programs out there, are meant to be so fast-paced and frenetic and in you gotta just hit people with the firehose and I decided something different on this on this program because I know my heart I know my fellow caregivers.

I know me and I don't need the firehose. I need to hear these hymns played in a way that makes sense to me as I watched somebody suffer and so you you are just such a dear 44. They remember the text of these hymns I was I was about my uncle recently passed away. My mother's brother and he was still with dementia and Alzheimer's and a set of video over to the family showed him there and there was somebody with guitar near playing amazing Grace and he barely knew who my mother was history. This is only sister's treasured sister. They were very close and I don't think he really knew she was. But when they're playing amazing Grace. He was singing the lyrics and you know I've had of interviewed Kim Campbell, Glen Campbell's wife in his later years of Alzheimer's to take care of it and they said that music was really about the last thing to go and do something about this. The power of music that kind of embeds itself in our soul. And that's why I play these hymns in the songs because I want people to have this went with it when it gets very brutal with it when the going is so tough that the simplicity of this song something beautiful, something good all my confusion. He understood all I have to offer. It was brokenness and strife is like you admitted you don't. There were times I was a very beautiful during the limitation of the lead. I am when you are the crash test dummy of caregivers.

Like I yell at me and I look at cringe over so much of my journey with this, but even that the cringe moments.

He restores that he was a carpenter he doesn't even wish the sawdust and as a friend once told me our God is the greatest junk collector in the universe and he restores things that we think there's no possible way you can ever be redeemed or ever be restored. I am not a caregiver at that time my mom had all years ago and I was aligned caregiver because my parents changed Kelly looking in to North Carolina by something you will really really good night may have the time when my mom had Alzheimer's with obviously a difficult time that it is a beautiful time in sunlight because she was aligned to communicate and mom. That's not a believer but I'm not say that I think it's the end she was that she and my dad met in the theater and we had not gone from the king and I love you a bushel and a pack a lot of what we would call every rabbit called her every day I will mom your favorite and getting to know you and the king and I and we would always close that I love you a bushel and a pack and she lifted Georgeanne and she loved Georgia on my mind and had the memorial service plate that might fit her death. That know the Lord and she didn't want any of that stuff memorial, but Sally said that you know my friend that's on the radio up making great I really like that think and laugh. You may not do that. You, but I can really wanted to thank you. I've been listening to your show years. I'm not a caregiver for senior week challenges of my own.

I have a lot of my there caregiver that I've been really really let by your you and the morning I walk up and at first I couldn't put it together now that my thinking and thank you will thank you very much for saying that that that is best that is the legacy of these great hymns in the songs. They can really wear honest, some of those drama moments, maybe from our loved one. Others might be from friends and family. The medical community and sometimes is how drama moments come internally as we mentally slept ourselves around over things we wish we'd done better, or which we not done it all and eliminate all of those moments, but we can reduce that by asking one simple question how important is this just a question we ask, how important is this it gives us and others an opportunity to prioritize and even detach from the circumstances so we can determine is this really a crisis or maybe this is something we can just let go.

Did you ever think the inmates would help you do that many years. When you go to the facility run by core civic and you see the faces of these inmates that are working on prosthetic limbs that you helped collect from all of the country that you put out the plea for and their disassembly sell these legs like what you have your own prosthetic and orange everything when you see all this makes me cry because I see this on their faces and I know what it is like someplace where you can't get out without somebody else allowing you to get out meaning the hospital. These men are so glad that they get to be doing is one thing said something good with my did you know before you became a deputy that parts of prosthetic limbs could be recycled and had no idea I thought Peg leg. I thought it wouldn't legs. I never thought of titanium and carbon legs and flexibly the legs and all that. I never thought about.

As you watch these inmates participate in something like this, knowing that there there helping other people all providing the means for the supplies to get over there.

What is it just on the heart level. I wish I could explain to the world. What I see in here and I wish that I can be able to come and say the this guy right here in East Africa with that. I never not feel that way out every time you know you always make me have to leave. I don't want to leave.

II feel like I'm at home with them and I feel like we have a common bond that would never expected that only God could put together. Now that you've had experience with it what you think of faith-based programs or core civic offers.
