There is no record of God speaking to His people for centuries between the Old and New Testament times. In this episode, we discuss how that impacts a family caregiver.

Now in his 35th year as a caregiver for his wife, Gracie, Peter draws upon his lifetime of experience to offer a lifeline to fellow caregivers.

Christmas gift why not the one she can have a couple of chicken maybe it's not the get for your family, but it gives the perfect gift for poor family ninja chicken can break the cycle of poverty for poor family yes chicken chickens and provide nourishment for family and they can sell those exit the market for income when you donate a chicken or any other gospel for Asia. 100% of what you give goes to the field and get the ball went gospel fundraiser to support family.

Jesus family this Christmas, give them 66 when see chickens and camping. Brian is a family home schooled over the 80 589-8840 888-5888 40 if you will be part of the show. There's nothing like this.

You we are out leaving the pack on addressing the core needs of the family caregiver will start from the inside out from the heart. We don't talk about caregiving task. As a rule we do sometimes delve into that, but our primary focus is on the core needs of the caregiver you know if you're in a situation where your money is all over the map. Your your your your body is messed up.

Your relationships are messed up your all the things going on. There's going to be a core need and Scriptures speak to this is what I've learned.

Now I been my 35th year as a caregiver have learned that it's not about just getting some kind of reprieve from the stress of caregiver.

It's it's so much deeper than that. And that's also grateful American family radio. The Truth Network his radio show, scared no more than 200 stations, 200.

We are the largest platform of it and we are bringing biblical truths into the situation that nobody's ever done before leather so many social issues that have been co-opted by the world.

Name it, but not this one. This one is is being led were speaking into the hearts of people from a biblical worldview, a biblical truth centered message and what I want to share this vision originally with American family radio and what I wanted to do lately got on board with it.

I really give them enormous amount of gratitude and thanks.

First, for seeing the value in this because the family caregiver is an often overlooked person you know this if your caregiver you know this were not overlooked. We understand the importance that if the caregiver goes down, then you lose more than just one individual, and if the caregiver is not equipped to deal with the stress and the strange and the heartache that comes from watching the a loved one, and impaired loved one suffer struggle then we are not doing our job is as is believers in speaking the gospel with clarity into that in a way that caregivers understand. I speak fluent caregiver and I want to make sure you are at least hearing a path to safety. You can't. You may not take it their lot caregivers adult, but I will at least be able to point to that path to safety in a way that you understand if you will be part of the show. 888-589-8848 885-8984. It will start off with the trivia question.

There is a general consensus that after the book of Malachi, or as my brother says is the only Italian book of the Bible because of Valachi just for him. But after the book of Malachi, there was a period of time where God was silent. Apparently there's no there's no prophetic voice of God coming between the book of Malachi, and then when you get to the birth of Christ. Time what set period of time. How long was that that's the best questions 1-888-589-8840 and once you answer that. Then look at it is sure why that applies to us as a family caregiver 888-589-8840 hello the time appeared to Thomas that there were there was another period of time in Scripture that was comparable to that. Where was the same thing. And in this is an important concept for us to understand as caregivers on what will where where is God in the six and I'll explain to you and the answer really lies in Matthew one and Luke three and it of what what what of the where is God, not the number.

But where's Gus 888-589-8040. If you know how long appeared in town that was approximately between the Old Testament and New Testament, Malachi spoke at the end of Malachi, and he said he'd overhears that this could affect. I think the last word in the book of Malachi was Kirk's and there's a great hymn that we sing go into the world was a far as the curse is found, and if you badly if you notice a joy to the world is such a is is based on the basically the major scale. If you wanted to know the gospel go something a little bit like this a boatload of a keyboard. That's the belly for joy to the world was just the system apply to the QC so this is to see scale so alright let's let's go to dental articles on here so will go to some that say they know the answer with the question is verse there's a reason I'm asking this on my just as it is is I want you to know these little things the trivia. I want you to understand the concept and the principle behind it because I think is a caregiver. This will affect you now. If you're not caregiver in your seminary student and you have all kinds of knowledge in your pastor and you just want to show off your knowledge of the caregivers a shot. Okay because that the point is is that we as caregivers learn this, that he gets into our spirit not just so that we can spout off stuff from ahead place.

We understand the core principle from our heart. You know it. It is a that sometimes the longest distance forces between our brains in our hearts and understanding how this applies to you as a caregiver know what you think about it. Here's what caregiver looks like. It looks like anybody who is taking care of an impaired loved, whether they be dealing with disease affliction, mental illness, older age trauma. In my case, my wife had a traumatic event that has led to 80 surgeries both of her legs are gone now and and and lives with her life with chronic pain and all kinds of challenges, I believe that alcoholic and addict. That's chronic impairment. They go to struggle with that for the rest of their life.

Even if they're in recovery to something so I got delivered up. Well, you may have and I am grateful for it but the behavioral impact on you as an alcoholic or addict affects your loved ones and every loved one of an alcoholic or addict knows this and so that's a caregiver. I'm the only one that I know of that has any kind of significant platform of the country that addresses the caregiving needs of family members of alcoholics erratic so this is what caregiver looks like were up late at night doing laundry were cleaning the cookie were back-and-forth doctors office where were were taking all I got Robbie last night and Eddie said look up to get your my mother and she does mean what and I told to listen the show tomorrow morning: let's talk about and so these are things that are going on with the family caregiver and sometimes we put our heads down and in great weariness and despair for your certificate or Pfister clips with resentment. Our teeth are grinding.

This is the caregiver and the question today really addresses that need.

That issue of the caregiver of understanding where God is and I will show you that as we do this so it's it's it's a what I do these trivia questions I really am not trying to test your Bible knowledge. I want to test what I want to explain something in a way that makes sense to you because a lot of times people spoke things to me throughout my 35 years these things it did make sense to me and understood on the head level you know knowledge base but but what I what I looked at the practical application of dealing with this day in and day out as a caregiver hundred plus doctors who treated my wife.

She's going to have a surgical procedure right after Christmas. You're looking at that out to the best of my knowledge will be 81 and she said hundred 50 other smaller procedures that I can To the best of my knowledge, so you look at this this ongoing thing that doesn't doesn't seem to stop. But where's God and that's part of our trivia question how long was it said to be quiet. Malachi test Rosenberger, hopefully caregiver caregiver.com 888-589-8040 and that my wife on her CD resilient you get a copy that what our webpage hopefully caregiver.com just click on that button that says donate will send you a copy of that CD for whatever amount you want to do to help us do the show more if you like what you hear on the show if you feel like it has value to you and you want to hear fabulous CD of Gracie who is a world-class singer. She's got a couple duets on their one with Russ. Of course, and then a couple of the John Erickson taught that you really find a meaningful is a great CD you get a copy that I want to make sure I want to circle back to this before we get our trivia stuff III live in a hymnbook often in music. Mr. Bloom church out here in Montana where we live. But I steeped in hymns. I've been playing the piano since I was five years old and I learned how to play from the hymnal. So, without reference to him.

Sometimes I assume that everybody's tracking with me. I want to make sure you understood what I said far as the curse is found, that's from the hymn Joy to the world and on the third verse it says no more. Let sins and sorrows grow nor thorns infest the ground. He comes to make his blessings flow far as the curse is found, far as the curse is found for as the curse is that he comes to make his blessings flow well when you have that the last verse of the Bible in the Old Testament used in zone the work curse and then the next thing we see as far as the word of God is the birth of Christ, so that's that's the thing about the connections to far as the curse is found, he's going to reverse this and and so that's an end next time you hear Joy to the world is understood. That's the entire gospel message can be done on a major scale. It's just a C major scale so you just us is something to remind you of that is the entire gospel.

Joy to the world. The Lord has come right there major scale. I let's go to a knife if I give someone else gets the answer. Okay. And you still want to. You still know what you have said the going on because I see a lot of the calls.

It's a bummer say that they know the answer but they also have a caregiving related issue. Please histogram with this okay because it's important. Your call is important.

Your your voice is important as a caregiver.

Best of one of the whole point of the show is to give caregivers a place where they could share their voice and the it. The question is from the moment of the from the end of the Old Testament and its the book of Malachi, then most people. There's a consensus that God is silent there's no prescriptions no profit speaking until we get to the New Testament, and how long a period of time is that I let's go to Micah in Texas. Micah good morning how you feeling ongoing requirement.

Rosenberg well first off, it's Peter get a little steno ceremony here.

I'm, it's, it's all right. I morning, you're quite welcome. How are things in Texas today little wet this morning but probably warmer not want to play for. Well it's cold where I am. I live in Southwest Montana and we got snow we always have a white Christmas appear and although I believe it is it is. It's wonderful appear.

What tubby dancer hello computer time was well.

I believe it was right at about 400 years of silent.

It was now. I want to while you're on the phone with me that's great job I and in those you know the answer you want to weigh in on. Please feel free, but I want to while you're on the on the phone. Also what your caregiver right decisions.

Your caregiver, your client. Struggled with mental depression for years and years and there frequently been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis that can't take water, but you haven't taken a negative thought about or do you actually it goes along with your trivia question through her suffering.

We have both grown closer to Christ and learned so much about our journey that he put before I wouldn't describe it as a toll. I think in the past.

I may have but you come she is helped me understand more what God has in store for the both of which you dealing with will. One of the things it was reasonable to have that particular question is, is that most of the got a solid for 400 years. You know the other place for God was apparently silent for 400 years who what the it wasn't at that time, the Israelites time and in the wilderness, whether now that was 40 years 40 years will let somebody else weigh in on that. But if you look at Luke chapter 3 and if you look at Matthew chapter 1. There is this lengthy list of genealogy and okay whereas, whereas most people say God was silent.

I look at those two passages and see that God was working in preserving all these families that led to the birth of Christ through Joseph and through Mary.

That is the basically the consensus is that Matthew was Joseph's genealogy in Luke is Mary's genealogy. It was important for him. All of those families to be preserved and protected during what we consider a period of silence and one of the reasons that you have been heard a great sermon on this for my pastor back in Nashville.

We lived in Nashville for many many many many years until we moved out here, my pastor.

I think Jim Bob is great And he said the only time where the host of angels came out and saying like they did was at the birth of Christ didn't do it at the resurrection did in the birth of Christ and why is that he said because God did what he said he was going to do. He put on flesh and came he sent his son to do it and so I look at that as a caregiver and I think whereas the surface would say that silence there's because I do anything and yet God is preserving all these families for 400 years to bring about what he said he was going to do so in the silence that we seem to think that God has in our own suffering in our own challenges as a caregiver. He is preserving, protecting and accomplishing what he said he was going to do if he says is how to do it. He's doing whether or not there's a lot of fanfare around and what is its it was policy for I'm to be set up. He who began a good work is faithful to what you know them. He who began a good word faithful to complete it. Okay, so if he began a good work he's faithful to complete and I would say the same thing to you Micah and your situation with your wife. It is both of you are looking it up if you began a good work he's faithful to complete it and he's begun a good work in both of you both of you know who he is more important, he knows who you are is so even in the apparent silence when you're sitting there staring at the ceiling having a conversation with ceiling fan ever done that.

Micah will after Ed even in those moments he still working and that's that's the that's the message this morning. I wanted by fellow caregivers to hang onto that even in those dark silent moments in those hospital quarters when you're the only one standing there and the gurney has taken a sharp turn to go into surgery in your standard left to the hospital quarter quarter quarter. I I know what that feels like in ways I hope none of you ever do and he still working in those places where it seems mighty silent in the silence is almost deafening. I'm one of the beauties about Libby got here. I live 10 miles of the paved road. Micah and that's a long ways for civilization would when we start a social distancing as a country are to get Montana's been social distancing since 1889 that I think the state motto shall go back home and but I would at one time outside and there was no sound. Now you've had that inside before I went outside there were no cars or so planes are still bugs or snowbirds the middle of winter. There was no wind. There was nothing that was complete silence and I was outside and I was looking at this vast landscape and I was outside and there was no sale that that buyers could pick up. It was the most uncanny experience and I think for us is caregivers. Sometimes we have that where there's just no sound and it's unnerving but but then you look around and you see the majesty of creation. You realize when it I'm only relying on one sentence. God is doing so much more that I could possibly imagine. And at the that's that's that's the message of what is we go to the Christmas week with with with fellow caregivers. I want people to understand that and hold onto that and and Mike I want you know how much I appreciate you taking the time to call and just listening to the show while thank you very much. I needed that morning and I wanted tell you that on the bottom.

My wife and my heart the last couple years… Thank you but you and your wife greatly. Thank you all very much argument strengthening unit good example, a young young man and a young wife to look up to. Thank you very very much… When Christmas looked look to Christ and and I thank you for that is easy your hearing for me is come from me laying in the fetal position hanging on the Jesus it's look to Christ in an and Mike.

It is a privilege and a pleasure. I didn't have a radio show like this when I was a young man doing this. I didn't have anybody to really speak fluent caregiver into my life and it is is such a privilege to be that person. For others, and I Mike I want you and you want to have a Merry Christmas and know that go to look at this gift he who began a good work in you is faithful to complete it to the day of Christ, and that is a that's it that's it. That's a powerful verse. Philippians 16 and remember when Paul wrote that he was in jail, chained up to a basically a Roman linebacker Philippians 16 he who began a good work in you is faithful to complete to the day of Christ use Michael's bike. I think it's about to call you my clubs are but that Micah thank you so much for calling and I do appreciate it. Amanda in George Amanda good morning how you feeling I I just love how are you I hanging in there what you what you hang in there about how when I got an agent the middle of it. Even when I don't hear from him.

I know he hears me well how does that's the point of our question this morning you had, you had the answer I did 400 years it seemed like he was silent but he was working full-time. Sometimes he says that you got a daughter who's an addict and I would imagine there are times when you feel like God is silent. Don't wait highly fair and I know what would you give me a favor. Amanda, would you hang onto the break. I like to hear live with that. Would that be okay I will just put you on hold for single mother come and go to freight will come right back overweight. Okay is this hope caregiver. This is the show as a family health hey this is John Butler. Producer hope caregiver and I have learned something that you probably all know that Gracie is wife lost her legs many many years ago and started a prosthetic limb outreach ministry called standing with hope and recently they ended up with a rather unique and unexpected partner, Peter had a conversation with Gracie and with Gracie when you envision doing a prosthetic limb outreach. Did you ever think that inmates would help you do that, not in a million years. When you go to the facility run by core civic over Nashville and you see the faces of these inmates that are working on prosthetic limbs that you have helped collect from all of the country that you put out the plea for and their disassembly sell these legs like what you have your own prosody and arms and orange everything when you see all this. What do you make me cry because I see the smiles on their faces and I know I know what it is to me like someplace where you can't get out without somebody else allowing you to get out course, being in the hospital so much and so long and so that these men are so glad that they get to be doing as as one man said something good family with my hands. Did you know before you became an amputee that parts of prosthetic limbs could be recycled.

Now I had no idea and I thought of Peg leg.

I thought of wooden legs.

I never thought of titanium and carbon lags and flex fate. The legs and all that. I never thought about that as you watch these inmates participate in something like this, knowing that there there helping other people. Now walk there, providing the means for the supplies to get over there. What is it do to you. Just on the heart level. I wish I could explain to the world.

What I see in here and I wish that I could be able to go and say the this guy right here Denise go to Africa with that. I never not feel that way out every time you know you always make me have to leave.

I don't want to leave them. II feel like I'm at home with them and I feel like that we have a common bond that would've never expected that only God could put together. Now that you've had experience with it what you think of the faith-based programs. The core civic offers.

I think they're just absolutely awesome and I think every prison out there should have faith-based programs like this because the return rate of the man that are involved in this particular faith-based program and other ones like it, but I know about this one are. It is just an amazingly low rate compared to those who don't happen and I think that says so much that has anything to do with me just has something to do with God using somebody broken to help other broken people. If people want to donate or use prosthetic limbs, whether from a loved one who passed away or you know somebody well groomed. You donated some of your own for them to have it, how they do that please go to standing with hope.com/recycle staining with hope.com/recycle caregiver to Roseburg.

This is the nation's family caregiver hope for the caregiver.com Harry and there's the question we ask on a regular basis. Amanda in Georgia was talking just to forward to the break. She has a daughter who is an addict and amended the question you said that the said Lord is sovereign and that is a that is a powerful statement. A lot of people say that when you say that in the context of what you're going through, takes on a different meaning and my pastor friend of the reference urge about it nothing you say to be was if you Lord at all that he is Lord of all. A lot of people get a little unsettled when you hear things like the euro the sovereignty of God, and they can't come look it is fatalistic how you what what does that mean to you when you say the Lord is sovereign is that comfort you. Does it strengthen you. What is that good for you heart will swallow what I have to do all that I have no power. I would like and get it back Monday late night will I get out of the way that land only revealed this a powerful statement from the mother because that's the place we get to really and everything and there is a point to save throughout a phrase you see if it resonates with you. There is a point where we have to get to where the we say they have a Savior and I'm not that Savior doesn't resonate with you when I say that lately my daughter and she groaned you sorry for.

I like to think that I know back then and I have control, but that you know why she did was allow me for a little while our father in heaven and and her salvation is her and not my I can't make that decision on my right choice for her turn. Of course I know that we are very careful for her 10-year-old daughter is ongoing with her. I will just have to let it go get me. I want you know Amanda did what you said here on the show is would echo around the country and around the world to people who are going through that sort of thing to understand that in some of them right now probably have hot tears in their eyes because they go to the same thing and that's why I started on the show to to really reach out to family members of alcoholics and addicts because this is such a difficult set of circumstances that is not having a cohesive message to you are caregiver you have somebody who has a chronic impairment and it just absolutely breaks your heart and your watching your granddaughter, your your like you said your fearful, all these things and it is very difficult to to understand God working this, but that's lasted this trivia question that he seemed like he was silent for 400 years, but wasn't no he was protecting, preserving these families all leading up to the birth of Christ because he said way back in Genesis that he was going to do it and and I and I would say the same thing to you and to myself and to all the fellow caregivers who were dealing with this that he is working this the in this in ways we can understand and not every part of this is going to have the happy ending that we wanted to and right.

I have to accept that and it is a hard pill to swallow sometimes but you know what it it's not my mind at no it is you and that's why I'm so glad that you call because their summary people out there right now who are wrestling with that decision and you look back at that him that wonderful him that we sing it. You'll hear me reference him a lot will play for you.

You know the so you know this would bring peace like a attendance my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll and as a mother of an addict with a two-year-old granddaughter.

I would say to you amended that you try to understand sorrows like sea billows roll whatever my lot say, say it with me whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say what we it is well with my well it is well with my soul.

It is well myself and so it's it's it's we sing these things. It gets down, way down in our spirit to hold on.

We were looking at things that seem such devastation and I want you to do some for me man I want to stay on hold because about to get Adam to get your information and if it's okay with you I'd like to send you a copy of my CD is called songs for the caregiver and I put it on there.

Specifically to help settle down the spirit of the caregiver and it's got is just a lot of instrumental stuff. Gracie sings a few songs and a leadoff legal song on this hymn is there is a place of quiet rest near to the heart of God.

A place where sin cannot molest near to the heart of God in would be okay if I sent it to you for Christmas gift lately that would be wonderful thank you starlight you know how I really just called because I what I would ask prior Erica and Arlen from your staff as I live the more I know intercessory prayer is powerful and online. When asked this entire network. This in turn and everybody dismissing right now and there a lot of people listening Erica and the what you write it down and as the Lord brings into your mind.

I want you to intercede for this family. Amanda Erica and Darla, regeneration of of of women. If you note. I would imagine Darla, just that this is your granddaughter right, she's just a little girl that she be protected in this and follow God.

We do lift up, Amanda, Erica and Darla. They are created in your image and you know them and your heart is is is tender towards them and these are painful things that this families going through and I would ask father that you comfort and strength and Amanda even now, so that that when she is engaged with her daughter and her granddaughter that that that the gospel just flows out of it just loses out of her father that that they see Jesus and and Amanda may be the only Jesus that Erica could ever encounter. See, in a way that she could understand and so would ask that that Amanda be that that light that shines. It reflects in Jesus name we asked that don't go away Amanda were going to get your information I will send you the CD that went with it gets a little bit gnarly just put this on and I think it'll it'll speak to your spirit. Okay and I appreciate right and and it's it's available to stream for those you want to get it is available stream through all the streaming networks, iTunes, Apple, Amazon all the stuff but I will send a hard copy CD of it to Amanda and Adams would get your information there because I did this specifically for caregivers who are just in so much torque that they can't they can't function very well and and so that's why did the CD. It is just as I listen to it myself apply it myself and and so I appreciate that a man for the call Bill and Alabama Bill good morning how you feeling drum on my I'm doing well. I'm doing great are you for your influence on me and I thank you my wife. My wife caregiver and not I was just you and Amanda and I was thinking if we are honest with ourselves. So you have caregivers at one time or another and we still have those those things in our hearts and our minds that need attention and and him and it's it's so therapeutic. I've found for me that that yes I look at this, the preaching, but but singing hymns can be can be so can be so healing and so therapeutic. Martin Luther said that next to the word of God. Music is the thing that exalts the human soul and Bock echoed that buck is considered the father of church music and all of his music was was designed to give God the glory that he would sign it. SDG soloed a Gloria forgot something a Gloria or God alone gets the glory and and of his music at his music is considered so powerfully constructed based on his theology and that it was it was it was really its purpose is the standard and and it was done because he understood the theology of God's Lordship and and in his sovereignty in his grace and his mercy based on his is great theology. So I would concur with you wholeheartedly.

I think that we have done a disservice to a lot of churches out there, but taking hymn books out of it because the hymns of the faith are less led to the CD socially R hymns on their because these great hymns of the faith are what sustain us and if sustained people for you. Centuries and through hardship so what was a favorite hymn of yours will I think you hit it with what Marco is so so so calm and reassuring and and it's such a blessing. I try to take pictures every Sunday of of pictures of him aware of phone specifically but something on record.

I have a memory record out so that I can go back to it and that's great. I like I do like you. You work. We have one? So, and our passion is wonderful and will which was a favorite hymn of your wife's as a caregiver, I should note that this is what you asked her what her favorite hymn is and well after Christmas call back and I'll play for Glavine here if you follow).

Well, listen, Bill. It means a lot that you're calling him I'm coming to Alabama next week. My grandchildren live in Alabama looking for to see them.

I got a granddaughter. I haven't mentioned meeting her and I want you to ask you what your favorite hand Christmas break I will I will play for.

If I don't know how to play very well. I'm right about that. Thank you for calling you right Magnolia away and copied the character.com donate button whatever's on your heart. You can help support this radio show with a prosthetic limb ministry. We got some patients were trying to sponsor a noun, even though we can't travel there right now because of the virus. We are still the work is going on. Patients are getting treated everyday worsening supplies would welcome the help for you to send that over will send her CD and speaking of her music on a podcast which is free. Hopefully caregiver.com you see it and it is. We next week or probably on Monday or so will put out just to briefing of her with the Christmas story that her singing Silent Night she's had a great version of that it's available to stream down you can get it from all the streaming services but it will put it out on the podcast for you as well because I love it when she sings Silent Night and up up little bit of that for you. I love this hymn, I just love Christmas music in general. So slow early morning some of things just a little bit stiff but you'll just be family, but I do love playing these hymns. I love playing for caregivers particularly who were just in distress who are hurting and I don't you know I don't try to play things that are raucous. Whatever cassette doesn't speak to my spirit, my my soul one night when I look at the things that I have to look at it when I watch my wife struggle and suffering, and I just don't feel like playing a bunch of you know, rock 'n' roll tunes and and and everything else it just raucous sound of my spirit gets unsettled the neatest speak to it, settle it down and that's what I do with music and I think the last call was right that you know the how much music plays a part in our life and the people that I want to play for people. I want to speak to don't need me to get up there and do all kinds of musical acrobatics they need to have their heart settled and that's why did my CD. That's what you hope for much everything I do is geared towards that.

So there's this little side note Lynn in Arkansas good morning Lynn how you feeling okay. I thing that I learned from My mom started to show the collar how I got last week in my life and really just wrote me last night as it would give it give me a call today on the show, but he didn't call in but you just said how mom is mean that my mom would back on the fact that with one black parent taking care of on really wet and thinking well that prescription prescribed to her about how and when you read back and I can only really went not in agreement. I learn anything that when that game live with when we read back three and that now and that in and got a different medication and one side effect case that there were other one that did not mean that the patient get every night. In fact, that Gatling rally and one of them wanted a family member in Iran.

That pretty immature person and that have agreed that it would it way again thing that we got around differently didn't have to hearing that. That being caregiver. I talked to another and another person. I knew that that their mom became mean and they didn't want to be around her and said that now it out there is sometimes medication will do it in Lynn I do appreciate very much your calling.

Given that insight. Thank you, thank you for that and Merry Christmas to you that is a that is a good reminder that sometimes is just medication that will have these adverse effects and and so it's important that we you'll keep our eye on the ball when it comes to the sort of things and other times they just have bad day or or as is again I like to quote my pastor there. Sitting there somewhere and and sometimes were going to just have bad days were going to be agitated without medication just to be agitated because of the stress and the. The challenges I want you to think about the when you're in pain when you have the flu. When you when you get sick and how agitated you become. Just with that and then think about this without on a chronic basis with some type of impairment cognitively or whatever and and so where were human beings and were subject to the all the foibles and frailty of being a human being. That's the human condition and I would also challenge that sometimes the case is they're not doing it to you there just doing it in and you just have to be the closest one to it. So if there's a lot of different things. Whatever's going to come your way. I can go back to this hymn piece like a river my way.

It's easy to be settled when peace is coming your way.

But, when sorrows when sorrows like sea billows roll down his saying sit with it as well with so see what my soon as well.

This is our journey as caregivers, can we do that on her own.

No, we cannot but this is the message of the gospel that were not on so started off the year the start of the show here with with that whole point of God seems silent for 400 years 400 years, but was he know he was real quick side. Is it Simon or Simeon and Pennsylvania Simeon good morning are you feeling right here I'm not going about your greater well for you for the shape I'm in, I'm in pretty good shape yeah I can.

I thing that happened to me.

Well you caring for five children and youth to medium special needs. Are you caring for you caregiver… I thought that well that's appreciate that very much and that that's a UK facility has a chronic impairment. Well, not well, that's the purpose of the show here and I appreciate you calling in is little hard to hear there's a lot of background noise so I was little hard to hear you but but the purposes shows for caregivers and for people who care for someone with a chronic impairment in and that's what we do here on the show is speak to those Nissan's Little Hyderabad connection or something was Simeon's was hard to hear but the point of it is, is this show is specifically designed for those who feel like that they're not being heard that there there that God is silent in their their situation is so for 400 years between the Old Testament and New Testament.

Most of the God was silent but I suggest you know he was for 400 years while the judge of the Israelites were in bondage in Egypt see what God was silent and there was a lot of suffering going on, but was he, I suggest to you that he was and he preserved all of this. In fact if you look at the genealogy in Luke one and Luke.

I'm sorry in Luke three and in Matthew 1 Goes Way back.

Even through all of those things you know all the way back to Abraham all the way back to Adam to God is preserving all of these families.

And in those famous if you looked at the genealogy of the things in those things he weaves in familiar names of people who were not necessarily what we would call outstanding stellar people.

Rahab the harlot you know and and David of course was a king but the boy he really, really did a lot of things that were were heartbreaking. Bathsheba is in the genealogy of Jesus.

These are things that are important for us to remember that as we face these things as we struggle with things that he is working all around us. In this in ways we can't possibly understand. We trust yes why we trust that's where the gospel comes in because he stretched out his arms and gave us life force across the more we understand how fast it crosses more settled our spiritual being in the midst of this, Christ remember this as you go to the Christmas season.

His scarred hands. Hold your spirit is scarred hands. Hopefully caregiver.com will see you next week
