All too many caregivers live in the wreckage of our future ...and we work ourselves into all sorts of heartache over things that haven't even happened.

Such is the case with this caller, Lisa. Like so many of us, Lisa tortured herself with looking down the road and visualize what lies ahead for her as she cares for her husband.

She called crying ...but listen to the transformation. We had to go to a break, but when we returned, the conversation moved her away from despair ...and she even chuckled a bit.

"He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."

2 Corinthians 1:4

Lisa is in South Carolina, Lisa, good morning. Are you feeling good morning, how are you I'm doing fun. I'm really okay Lisa, now Dr. I have been part of the cricket would it very difficult. He had rheumatoid arthritis 80.

He had multiple neck surgeries with electrician that we moved to Mississippi to South Carolina for my God and the beginning state of being a caregiver. How hard I know what coming down the record I use with Becca respectively's we all know what's coming down the road to a certain point or lease we fear what happens is we as caregivers to deliver the wreckage of our future were so busy knowing what's coming down the road that were missing what's right here in front of us right and were not promised anything after right now.

So the way it's going to work a lot of time to help you back away from that cliff little bit is to understand okay here's where we are right here right now and you you if you live out the wreckage way out there in the future that fear that fears one of the seven caregiver landmines. I wrote about in one of my books 7 figure 11 months and we tend to just get ourselves so torqued up with fear that we can't function today right you did not do this to your husband. You cannot undo this and you are not responsible for his salvation. I have I have 00 track record of being able to convert anybody to Christianity but God. On the other hand, has a lengthy track record of doing it that you you could pray for you care for your loving and you be the best steward of this that you can be, but results are in God's Department right and let your life reflect the gospel and you just care for him and and you going to have some you can have some tough times with at least you go to weep. My goal for you.

What you doing right now my goal for you is not that you weep tears of rage and despair but that you're able to weep a healthy tears.

I think Amy does not he would hang onto the break which you do that for me.

I will not hold onto the break is not. I think you need. We just did talk a little bit longer here about that. With that we are great.

I will hang on the put you on hold when I go to the break. This is hope for the caregiver. This is Peter Rosenberger.

This is the nation's number one show for the family caregiver were interested in you as a caregiver going through the list get you to say let's talk about your, how do you feel is your body's sluggish. How about your mind. What about sleeping is that difficult for you when you had your last physical.

What did you learn about your health.

Should you lose weight if you are like so many caregivers those are hard questions you didn't get here overnight, and you won't change it overnight. But there are steps you can take starting today. Find more information@ahealthierlifeforyou.com that's a healthier you.com. The speed Rosenberger never helped somebody walk for the first time I've had that privilege many times through our organization. Standing with hope when my wife Gracie gave up both of her legs follow this horrible Rick that she had as a teenager and she tried to save them for years and if it just wouldn't work out.

And finally she relinquished him and thought wow this is that I'm not ivy legs anymore.

What can God do with that and then she had this vision for use in prosthetic limbs as a means of sharing the gospel to put legs on her fellow amputees and that's what we been doing now since 2005 was standing with hope. We work in the West African country of Ghana and you can be a part of that through supplies through supporting team members through supporting the work that we're doing over there. You could designate a limb. There's all kinds of ways that you could be a part of giving the gift that keeps on walking and standing with hope.com would you take a moment ago understanding with hope.com and see how you can give they go walking and leaping and praising God. You could be a part of that@standingwithhope.com look back at the show for caregivers about caregivers hosted by caregiver eyeing Peter Rosenberger this is hope for the caregiver going back to lease in South Carolina. Lisa let me ask you something. I'm just go through a checklist for you okay okay when's the last time you saw your doctor. Hedge had come out good good report, but overall pretty good.

Are you taking anything for that everyday. Are you changing your diet around a little bit started walking every day and that refined sugar like that about 20 there you go. Hey there you go, to stop a moment and think about what you've done 20 pounds.

How does that affect your knees how much their problem walking better but you have 20 pounds less problems you don't not hit you can't fight rheumatoid arthritis, but you can fight cholesterol you could fight high blood pressure, you can fight weight gain so we can fight what's close aside, it was last time you're in church you have a good church somewhere on South Carolina couple not found one yet but I go I'm going to where we are you in South Carolina. I'm from the original. How Johnson all is a beautiful tail beautiful to I it was will find you find you good church down there and what are you looking for out of a church] find it like you are caregiver or my family. I don't really have my job that there have a coworker down here real difficult unless you can save when you find that church would you call me back and tell me about it. I went in and will tell folks in that area. Hey you know what Lisa found a church that is really speaking to hers. A caregivers if you're in church. This is where you need to go alright so you call the show today so you got out of the you pushed against isolation by calling to show just you just talking with another caregiver is overdue just have a conversation you've been to your doctor, your you're actively seeking for a new church home you're losing weight you're taking steps to physically help yourself spiritually help yourself emotionally. Help yourself. This is how you gonna do it.

Lisa rises this is how you that you got it you go to grieve over things. It's going to happen. Okay, but you not to grieve alone. That's the key you're not to grieve in despair and enrage. That's the goat that's that that's the target destination for you is so that we can cry healthy tears because as soon as we learn to cry healthy tears. You'll find that down the road.

Joy and laughter can follow those healthy tears right they really can, but it starts with you doing what you have in your hand in your arms reach to be able to do today. Right now you you cannot fight rheumatoid arthritis.

You cannot fight somebody who is not saved like your husband can't fight that. Let God fight those battles, but you can't fight you can fight the things that you're doing when I'm real and I'm real proud of you for what you doing when you're quite welcome in this show was for you and every Saturday morning with him every week.

I'm so glad thank you because your why do the show and on top of that I'm originally from South Carolina, so I can speak the language. I know right height. I would like bull peanuts, you know that my mom made for Christmas dinner one year couple years ago we all would know that she made shrimp and grits for Christmas dinner. We I get it I care a lot aboard care little bread without Dalby Carolina did you know that look here. Look here, you call the pride and now you left your right within a matter of minutes just by talking with the fellow caregiver whose weathered a few storms this is how were going to do it together. Lisa, this is how were all to do it. And this is the gospel. This is the body of Christ. This is what we do is we bear one another's burdens, and we speak with clarity and and and and great specificity into the lives of our fellow caregivers. I'm proud of you. You do it you're doing, don't. Don't worry about was coming down the road you know what that that's in God's hands right you know it is about my father's ministry and he said that he kept it in my life when I pick what people to the church and to pastors when I told this.

I grew up with a pastor who knows how to do this I my father set the bar for this and I still talk with them pretty regularly about all these things, he set the bar for this reason, caregiver, by the way he set the bar for this, but that's got this funny statement. He says that you got at this problem. He thinks he's God and you know and I don't think that's the thing we have to realize you know he is sovereign in this thing and I want you to write one last thing for Melissa and I got take another quick call here got your hands, you do. You see nail prints will than this eight years to fix error. I remember in every time every time you want to start living way on the future of what I know what's coming in on the and you look at your husband is not saved all these things will look at you look down at your hand. You remember that he's the only one with the nail prints and and one of things I've learned my wife scars are temporary.

There will be a day in heaven where she will have a brand-new body that is scar free and injury free. Her scars are not permanent right, but his are and that means something, though scars are payment and that means something because that means you belong to him.

He paid for you permanently with though scars you hang on to that in those moments of great despair when you're having those late-night conversations with the ceiling fan you hang onto that okay are you, and you call back as many times you want Lisa I alright Lisa, thank you so much for:
