Before we begin. This is a banner day for the show this week represents our seventh anniversary only with me and himself the baron of the board of cell to cell. The Earl of engineering. The man who is just so's sharpies band from ever holding a balloon. He is John Butler. The count of mighty disco and were glad to have you with the seven years John seven years by absolutely a pleasure to see your face is always, even in this time of remote working at and all you are ahead of this curve baby weave it out and hopefully for some time with you John more and louder. John more and louder. That will have to be something I did a little bit later that I am.

That is, of course, Gracie is my life is good entities but she meets. I read that well not well and happy Mother's Day to you Gracie. I think it would have been funnier if you'd said start. He set off the TSA allow Yamanaka been funnier.

Let me let me handle it. Okay so my son Malcolm met Malcolm before 70 Malcolm is he just he just turned seven and he just turned eight, right. Okay, it's a good birthday was just a second but he looked up at me the other day and we were making were making breakfast with cheese omelettes and I said oh yeah, grab some of that cheddar cheese and said I'm to be real careful.

Is it sharp so proud. I was so proud of is that the right word really what I also speak at a special guest. I have a very special guest of my show. We been having a series of of A-list celebrities on the show but I saved the best for the last year and I have my mother on the on the show today mommy with this well I'm glad this my mother Mary met Lieut. about my mom. I asked her said mama what you come on the show for Mother's Day. She said I sound off mom had congestive heart failure. Just a couple years ago and we got lost her. She was in the hospital for a lengthy period and they had to do tracheotomy honor and all these kinds Gracie Leanne. And it was it was dicey that we know if you will make it with his mom and you have indeed and she said blessed awfulness of mother there a lot of people that would love to hear their mother's voice, no matter how it sounds and so I'm glad to hear your voice on my show today so thank you for being a part of the show today. That of course always have you that voice you hear beside me.

That's Gracie and she was happy I was to give you an intro but I just ran. I don't say a lot to talk about this now and let's be fair here. The woman who needs no introduction waits for one… Go ahead and blunder out of her that's okay mom. First of how you feel it a mom happy Mother's Day you relaxed are you to placement at the house for you relaxes it, quite quiet now train went through, I think… Have you heard from everybody.

You and the family body. Okay, let me know what that means for her to hear from everybody because I will.

I'm one of six children by four brothers and sister. My youngest brother lives in the Middle East so I don't know what time he calls for scholarly okay.

I figured he would then my oldest brother lives down below us in Salt Lake and were at Montana, two brothers in South Carolina cisterns after mother then mom has 17 grandchildren, 17 and this year she will have great grandchild number 18, 19 and 20. I get there. I'm a try. It's a no math on that. So that's rather tribal at this point, we gotta get a large group that's a full what is clear quiver forever. The full quill so mom as you clicked on Mother's Day and also that this is not cannot really get a little bit of background about the consummate of pepper her with a lot of questions and that mom started out as a caregiver with her brother and and her brother had some serious medical issues that eventually cost him his life. That's where I first started seeing the whole journey of caregiving. Then she took care of her mother who had significant health issues and she has a daughter-in-law who has significant health issues that would be my wife, Gracie.

She has a granddaughter with cerebral palsy and's significant developmental issues is my brother Richard's daughter and this is not something you're unfamiliar with in your world of being with your sleeves rolled up into the lives of folks who are dealing with very significant issues and as you reflect on that mom what you what you think about this this journey for caregivers a mean this is this is ghost you go back in a long ways doing this. What are your thoughts about regulating one word okay let out a member have to fight back. Can't really live a wonderful experience. Whether it was late with pricing with my network and nothing that lined up high near the pump and I Entered into an antipathy with the work of God in each life cannot but I haven't had long-term thing, but I just had a wonderful experience with whoever.

There were times when I was found that I'm a get out of it as time is spent. I think of one particular thing right now Peter I think of when Gracie came out of the hospital with Parker and I was privileged because she couldn't get out of the bed way too accommodating. I was preparation for tonight where my pack and take Parker out of his bed and handing paramedic who looked so beautiful and radiant that night and she had her baby at Lark privilege to be able to be here with grandparent and are now have this kind of experience naming wonderful experiences with what changed about nasty right I'm speechless that they're still your mom and you give more right answers than about anybody I know what changed in your faith watching you. You've led to watch some very painful painful things. What changed in your faith through this process. I don't think I changed until later. As you know I prayed hard for my brother played with my check and I was privileged part of his life. Fonda I prayed and I grandchild and all those things that you wander back and God say not to hear the prayer that years later as I sat with his wife Diana.

We watched his daughter graduate with honors from Georgia Tech. I asked Diane about this time and she said that it was okay and I realized it was okay part of life cannot. I think that the way my face changes are just some things that are part of life, and I can change it. I can't change it and I still walk with Jesus.

It remembers this is one more poignant stories in my life with you I would come home when I was a high school, college, I was working job that I had work in the evening times I would come home as I think a summer break or something and Lee was going through your brotherly was going through such very very difficult things he had neurofibromatosis which is a terrible disease and he was going through some very hard hard things and you are watching it, Diana, and that in and his wife and their little girls were really they were just struggling and you are watching this and trying to be of help in it and it was just a brutal journey and you were reading to the book of Job extensively.

That's John's favorite book of the Bible is the and. But I would come home and you thought you had fallen asleep in the recliner many times and I would cover you with the Afghan about it while you are holding that Bible and and it was about… All of my brothers and sister and I had given Teague back in the 70s and at cover you up and I going to bed and you stay asleep out there and you probably wake up in the middle of the night and keep reading as you are seeking up God's counsel in dealing with this and you had notes that Bible then later many years later you gave that Bible to Gracie and me. And as Gracie was going through a particularly brutal stretch of her own life. She was reading that same Bible and going through those same verses that you had underlined some years earlier, and I remember covering her up with an Afghan and while she fell asleep reading that same Bible and that that the irony is the name of the Bible says Mary Rosenberger will Gracie's name was Mary Rosenberger as well as Mary Grace Rose Martin here says Mary Emma Rosenberger so I had the distinct privilege of covering up to sleeping Mary Rosenberger's reading from the same Bible going same issues, just different time periods, and it was just for this kind of poignant moments for me that you've passed on this, this legacy of faith of legacy of not demanding that you get the answer from God that you want, but that you're willing to seek him in the sling in an and trust him with it. And as you walk through this with a lot of people there people today mom and there there there struggling because their watches same with the virus there watching this this suffering in their own life. They don't know what to do. They don't know where to go there there there fearful and and rightly so. This very scary time for a lot of people, but you've weathered a lot of scary times what it was something you'd like to say to them right now I don't really know you were talking I was thinking about God and I came up to your house, it was the night before, Gracie had her first leg amputated on after while you and Anna and her dad went on to bed angry sure.

Gracie remembers that Gracie started saying wait. We just thank you. Now not read it. Now I a lot of what was going on and it would've been nice.

The PTO that night, but we just think about 430 in the morning. Gracie came in ready and we sat for a few hours was your precious moment and you don't get an annulment if you never encounter the difficulties apply it. Just don't get that when you encounter such difficult it is to be no answer in the way you think. It's scary and it's on now that It's those intimate times with God and with each other that I find it and I cherish this kind moment and I guess that is better not stop them to get to this page to know that it's all right it's okay talking with my mother, Mary Rosenberger.

I come from a long line of mothers she see has been and continues to be an inspiration to me and to so many more. And Gracie's with us to really dig in some of these things you want to be part of the show 877-655-6755 877-6555 speed Rosenberger. Have you ever struggled to trust God when things happen to you. I'm Gracie Rosenberger in 1983 I experienced a horrific car accident leading 80 surgeries in both legs and became I questioned why God allowed something so brutal to happen to me. But over time the questions changed and I discovered courage to trust God that understanding along with an appreciation for quality prosthetic limbs led me to establish standing without more than a dozen years we been working with the government of Ghana and West Africa, equipping and training local workers to build and maintain quality prosthetic limbs for their own people on a regular basis. We purchased ship equipment and supplies and with the help of inmates in Tennessee prison. We also recycle parts from donated lambs. All of this is to point others to Christ. What Are Some Lessons to New Moms That You Would like to Offer When You You You Got Some Real Stripes up Your Arm As a Military Would Save You View a Veteran of Dealing with A Lot Of Parental Issues.

The A Lot Of It Just Involve Me, but What Are Some What Are Some Some Insights You Would Love to Offer to New Moms Today. I Had a Prepared and after I Don't Think so, but We Don't Buy Downright Important to Get Our Paperwork That I Did Not Have Mine Work Began with. I Was Still Strike like It Is Important to Know What Word It Is Important to Know God and Have a Personal Relationship I Have Found over the Years That Sometimes All I Had to Do It and You May Think with God and He Would Let Me Know What You Doing a Capitulation in Those Times When I Wanted to Worry Are Prater Gaps That If I If I'm Back with Him and I Get Back in the Scripture. I Find There Is No Need to Know the Scriptures That I Don't Have To Be Afraid I Don't Have To Worry I Don't Have To Fret Think I Get to Choose to Do so.

If I Don't Have To Do That.

They Want the Alternative, and I Have To Take I Have To Take a Relationship with God Have To Think the Scriptures and Then I Find It Most Exciting Invention Will It Take, I Don't Know That You Can Make It without It Now. Today I Don't Think You Can Raise a Child without Knowing What the Work Is about Helping a Child Get through the Gift of Time Not I Have To Admit Knowing the Scriptures Is Probably the Greatest Path That I Think When I Take a Thankless Event with This Is Susanna Wesley's Mother, John Wesley, Evangelist Also Had a Brother to. Consequently, One Cannot Account out Somebody Came and Criticized Her Lifetime Because She Was Making Her Children Memorize Scripture at a Very Early Age. They Render to and She Said I Don't Teach Them Understand That I Can't Come to Learn That God Will Give Him the Understanding and I like to Think That Maybe That's What I've Encouraged Not Just You and Your Brothers and Sisters That Maybe Some Other People.

God Gives the Understanding All We Have To Do Is Present at Work and He'll Give the Understanding He Says I Am… And Then Met You and I Talked about That Night. It Is That When I Didn't Know Where I Met No Matter What It Isn't What's Going on in My Life in the Midst Keep My and That's a Tremendous Source of Encouragement and Housework, Strengthening Our Loan Are Frustrated or Sick. I Can't Don't Know What to Do. Whatever in the Midst of That He's Mighty Said Gracie. Mike Trust Gracie When You When You Were in the Hospital with My Mother in the Roles Were Reversed and She Was Truly at Death's Door and It Was Very Bleak and You Are in There and What Was Going through Your Mind Is You Sell the Role Reversal Because She Had Leaned over Your Hospital Bed Praying for You Singing to You Kissing on You and Holding You with Everything He Likes.

He Said Then the Roles Were Reversed and You Were in That Position What Was Going through That with You. First of All I Just Could Not Wait to Get over There Because I Just I Felt a an Urgency in My Heart. Take Get over There and Speak to Her Spirit Because I've Been Unconscious and You Know She Was in and Out Of Unconsciousness and That You Can Still Hear a Hearing Is the Is the Last Thing to Go so and and You Know They Would Take the Damper Procedures and She Wouldn't Want You or I to Leave the Room That You Would Feel like You Know on Some Things That You at to Honor Your Mom That You Need to Leave the Room. I Didn't Leave the Room. I Felt like I Wanted to Be There Every Second That I Can Be There and Because She Was There Not Just for Me but Act to Active Voice and I Guess I Just Remember Going over and I and When You Would Leave the Room Know Why Yukon Is Fantastic When You're in the Rain Figure That When You Would Leave the Rain I Would Get Right over Her in That You Not Hold onto the Side Rails and I Would Look at Aaron and Say Mom This Is Not Your Time to Go.

I'm Sorry I Know You Want to Clearly If You Saying Now I'm Ready to Go. I'm Ready to Go and I Said I Know You're Ready to Go When You Know Why I Don't Think God's Ready for You to Go and I Know That Your Children Your Daughter-In-Law's and Your Son-In-Law and Your Grandchildren Here, Great-Grandchildren Are Not Ready for You to Go and Are Are Rarely Found out Dad Really Didn't Want You to Go Didn't Think There Was Just It Was. I Felt so Horrible for Dad.

I Mean He Would Just Sit out and the Waiting Room with His Bible and He Would Just Pray and Meditate on the Word and Let I Want to Say One Thing, Because I Remember I Specifically Took That Read Bible and Mary Rosenberger Inscribed on That Unit Given Peter, John, You'll Appreciate This Everything She Read, Especially Students, and All of All of Those Things While She Was Going Do That with Her Younger Brother Lay She Would Write the Dates in the Cup in in the Margin and She Went down.

She Would Write Questions That She Had or Discoveries. He Felt That the Lord Had Given Her That She Would Write the Dates and Several Times in Job in Particular. I Went See This Pain Day in the March When I Had My Racket Was and That Anyway Got That Meant the World to Me.

So I Read Those Things to You That Was Really Important That Mom Had Written Those Poignant Notes in Her Bible. It Was at the Very Time She Was There with Her Brother but at That Very Time You Had Your Rick Back in 83 and so That Was That Was Really Quite Poignant Because at This Time She Was and She Was Praying the Same Verses for Brother That She Would Later Pray for You and It Was Just It Was Really Quite Meaningful You Were Gasping for Breath. Mom before We Go to Break As Graciously One Verse of This US Gracie to Sing This Hymn and and She Say It Just A Cappella Thing That I Should Sing This for You Today for Mother's Day IWI Really a Choice. Still, As Well. Associate Mom Peter Gave Me No Heads up, but I Thought I Thought I've Ever Seen. This Will Be the Same. Well, Not A Lot like You Know There Are Monster.

I Didn't Know What Was Going on, but There Was a Time When Things Were Bad, but I Got a Kidney and Not in Gracie's Prayer and He Said to Me You Want to Come Home with Me and I Thought What I Done, like a Bad Idea Because I Sure Don't Have Very Good Notes What's Going at but the Lord: You Want to Land and Out Of My Mouth so Quickly That I Could Hardly How Quickly It Came out That I Want You and I Want to Declare Your Work and You Know I Have Opportunities to That McInerney You Do You Do See One Verse Well the Way We Go to Break It Because We've Got to Go Take a Quick Break, so Will Do That Will Break Were Talking to My Mother Mary Rose Order and That This Is Hope for the Caregiver. If I Offer Good Things on the Show's Because She Help Me Learn and so Want to Bring Her on This Is Just for the Special Mother's Day Shall Also Gracie Joining Us with Her.
