When faced with painful circumstances, we all struggle with reconciling a good and loving God with brutal challenges. Some, however, tend to take it further and look for ways to lay the blame on the individual (or even caregiver).

In fact, Jesus' own disciples did this. In this monologue from the show, we discussed Jesus' response ...and the impact on family caregivers.

Christmas gift why not the one she can have a couple of chicken maybe it's not the get for your family but it is the perfect gift for poor family ninja chicken can break the cycle of poverty for poor family yes chicken chickens and provide nourishment for family and they can sell those exit the market for income when you donate a chicken or any other gospel for Asia. 100% of what you give goes to the field and get the ball went gospel fundraiser to support family.

Jesus family this Christmas, give them 66 when see chickens and camping 588 40 888-589-8840.

This is the show for family caregiver about the family caregiver hosted by a family. It's all things related to being a caregiver.

How are you feeling as Harry do it how you hold up you that's what the show is all about bringing almost 3 1/2 decades of experience to help you stay strong and healthy as you care for someone who is not, and the plight of 65 million Americans is what prompted this show and I'm very grateful that we are leading the charge here on Christian radio to be able to speak with clarity to the situation with the power of the gospel with understanding and help point caregivers to safety. What does this mean to be a person of faith while you're caring for someone who is out of control who is spiraling down who was suffering all these kinds of things. These are important conversations to half and we have them here and if you want to be a part of it is 888-589-8840 that the number for the call right here in Tripoli 589-8840. Don't wait until five minutes before the end of the show. This would love to just get we can get all the calls so if you will be a part of it. Get something on your heart something is troubling you. Something that is you know bothering you or that you're struggling with whatever you solutions because is that what I do here.

I can't tell you how to take care your level anymore that I can.

You can tell me how to take care of mine. But what we can do what we can do is bang out some ideas here put it in the context of Scripture share the light of Scripture on it. What does God say about this and at a promise you everything that is troubling the human heart is dealt with in Scripture. Now there's no situation where it's going to in Scripture. It covers you know my for example exec situation. My wife's double amputee 80 surgeries both of her legs.

Now it was just a horrible Richie had back in 1983 and never-ending pain all these kinds of things hundred doctors there is nowhere in Scripture were that is addressed specifically but the the the turmoil that's in the heart as we struggle with things that is addressed very specifically with great clarity all throughout Scripture the top busted today were going to start off with the verses one to but I'm up just read the verse and then I will tell you what prompted this is Jesus passed by, this is John nine gospel John chapter 9 is Jesus passed by, saw a man which line from his birth and his disciples asked him master who did the sin this man or his parents that he was born blind and Jesus answered, neither have this man sin, nor his parents, but that the works of God should be manifest in them that the reason I'm giving you the Scripture today is because last week I do the broadcast here on on Saturday mornings here at AFR that I also do a lot of podcast that you that's 3D. You can go unchecked. Check it out. It's at. Hope for the caregiver.calm and I interviewed a wonderful author. Her name is Diane Lineberger, Dr. Diane Langford. She's a psychologist of more than 45 years of dealing with trauma victims and we talked about suffering in the heart of God, and you can hear that interviewed I would really really really recommend you go out. Listen to this.

It is a it is I think is maybe the most important interview that I've ever got, and I gave her the entire hour of the podcast without any commercials without any breaks or anything it it is a very important interview to listen to what this woman has to say that I try to get out of her way.

But after the show we talked about how in the show how people can be abused in the church by pastors and and so forth, and how people could say things to people who are suffering there so cutting and so cruel. We got a letter that a woman who has a child born with spina bifida and she was told that this this child was born because of sin in her life and what surprised me before I could respond to her.

My wife Gracie jumped on the them and she because she posted a Facebook group and and cheap she sheep jumped on the debt and she said that is a live from the pit Hill and and I was I was really quite quite moved by grace jumping on that because that is that is a question that has plagued people who suffer who have children who suffer all these things would what did I do that God would do this to me when Gracie was born.

Her eyes were terribly crossed and she had a five surgeries on her eyes long before carrack and she had a she showed up in in in that but just by showing up on this planet. She calls people to question the goodness of God while we cannot do this to such a little baby and her eyes were she had ever bought multiple operations. She still basically legally blind in one eye and she didn't have any say so in this whatsoever just by showing up. It causes people to have a theological conversation. She walks into a room, though with her artificial legs uncovered without skin covering the robotic. It causes people to have a theological conversation in their minds what what what what why would God do such a thing in our minds we try to somehow rationalize this thing out on why this makes sense to us and you know you go back and you look at what Jesus said this man didn't send Nora's parents, but that the works of God may be manifested in so one of the things that I want to do on the show with with great passion is make sure that that you clearly hear this type of message in this passage from Scripture. In these principles of God, so that as you are struggling with this. Or maybe somebody saying to you terrible things about why your loved one suffers that you will be able anchor yourself back in the truth of God to not succumb to those things when Gracie had her car Rick, this is before a better and she was laying in traction and and you know someone came in and said will what would you do that God would do this to you graciously attracted to 17 years old and in and that's a horrible thing to say to somebody that reflects a terrible theology and in then and we weapon I Scripture. Have you ever been the victim of weapon asked Scripture before have you ever had that happen to you. But yeah if you had any kind of track record of walking through painful things, somebody's gonna come along and just as Dr. Lamberson interview and just their their projectiles of Scripture are not meant to comfort your strength you meant to lose you.

And that's what were going to hopefully in the show today and in the coming shows be able to deal with more effectively so that you are better equipped to deal with the cost of and then help others be better equipped to do with how I hate that that we we weapon us the promises of God. We weapon as the word of God against one another, but that's what we do and and and you go back and look at it. Job, go read the book of Job, you know use you sit there with for two of the Job's friends came and sat there with them. They were just aghast at what it happened to him and they sit there with them silent for seven days.

A government is a rabbi who talks about the seven days of silence why that's important and theologically all come off for the next 30 something chapters on Job's ribs try to figure out why this happened. They were quiet just at the core of things to go wrong until he started to trust 589 85 eight American family radio this.

This is the nation's number one show glad silver caregivers.

If you are to say something to American family support is putting out great content to help people in all kinds of situations and don't just be recipient be a participant in and let them know that as a caregiver you appreciate this because we are the nation's number one program for this. There's nothing like what we do here and it is in and why shouldn't Christians be leaving at one of the ghost of Jim Staley who subs in for me on the show. He's the general manager of American family radio and I was talking about this that I and I I lamented a little bit that the world has taken over pretty much every social issue, except this and I was like no wheat we got to start fighting back a little bit and start regaining some ground as believers if we care about these things, then let's let's act on it in the world co-opted everything having our marriages everything is going on the whole LGBT Q editing know what all sick stand for the everything that's out there pro-life group abortion you know that all the stuff out of the world has got a steak in these things planted and RN and Christians are constantly playing defense of this I'm trying to regain some level of high ground to be able to talk about these things but not this issue. This issue, we are on offense and we are moving this ball down the field and we are making progress into the life of the family caregiver and why is it important because it's two-for-one deal.

When you have 65 million people who are struggling with this and then one of things I do here on the show that nobody else does is envelope and bring in the family members and loved ones of alcoholics and addicts into the equation and the mentally ill, so would you dealing with some of you has any kind of impairment any type of chronic impairment wherever there's a chronic impairment.

There's a caregiver and what were doing is were speaking to that massive crowd who feel so isolated feels like they're the only ones that are dealing with this and were bringing the message of the gospel with clarity with precision and were not playing defense plan offense. We are taking it and going into these places where people are so alone.

They're so discouraged and that's what we do on the show. So if you like what you hear and be a part of it. You can go to AFR.net.

You could get involved. That way, or you can go to hope for the caregiver.com and you can and seal a bit more what were doing. I would suggest that you follow along in our podcast as well is there is a 203, we consider 50,000 downloads this week and I would get a 450 episodes that we put out there and we want you to take advantage of.

Why would you say you know caregiving is hard enough want to try to do it alone. Been there, done that and I got the scars to prove it. So it went back to her Scripture today John chapter 9 verse two, and in the disciples came up as good as always, gathers blind and it was you in the coming of amazing out Scripture course doesn't tell us all the details of what they they they were trying to wrestle with why this is happened this guy versus hey, let's do something to help this That that was kind of interesting because you know is a caregiver you been on the root of the receiving end of people who are questioning why this happened to you, but they're not really helping you I don't need people to question why this happened to Gracie or Gracie certainly doesn't need it. We know what is your current okay wheat we got that but but what is God doing it and can you help can you be up can you be a source to help the people that lady just call him right now. She didn't want to go there, but she did call in and she said that the note came with his how can I help my friend who was a caregiver will part of the first way you could help them is just let them know that you see in and some as I don't know what to say. Sometimes what here's the here's the way to start that conversation you look at them squarely and you say, I say very quietly to buy the way for those of you who are of the Pentecostal persuasion, calm down, just say it calmly don't prophesy over them or anything else like that just because they're already on the cliff. Your level scare right off so just calmly say to them, said look I see you I see and I see the magnitude of what you carry.

I hurt with you start there.

But don't fill this need to fill up the entire space with words. You can just learn to be with them.

Just be. Just be you know that's what Jesus does. He is with us in this and and and in it he don't. And if they need to solve it out. Don't try to get them to stop. Let him stop it out sob with them that I help a caregiver is the first way to start is just to let them know that they can they get there in a safe place to get that out. That's what we try to do here on the show's created environment where you're safe as a caregiver. The other thing that you can do is look around them. Look at their car look at their home. If the caregiver is stressed out, the cars probably stressed out the home. The house is probably stressed that the yard is probably stressed out.

The gutters may be stressed out. These are things that can be quickly and if actively addressed with with minimal difficulty for non-caregiver so look at those things, you know, people come up with things that they think what they would like this it all you know when you'd like to be up to go on a cruise as a caregiver.

Are you kidding me. You know I have of serving the covert, 19 with that that is just not something on my radar this at work were caregivers live caregivers often don't know what they want. They don't often know what works. Even if you give them a day off. They don't know how to handle a day off. They're too busy fretting about what tomorrow will bring. Because we gotta go back and pick up all the pieces again. So these are things that that we need to be aware of as we did it interact with the family caregiver.

You're not going to fix the situation and don't project what you think works for you just start noticing things you don't let them know that you're the grocery store and you be happy to bring them something. Okay, give them a copy of my book when I'm about try to be self-serving, but I wrote the book for caregivers. I literally have written the book for caregivers is called hope for the caregiver. You can go seated about website get on that, get that for your pastor because it's always is Rosetta Stone for caregivers. I speak fluent caregiver in the point of it is to be able to speak into people's lives with clarity, purpose, passion and efficacy. We don't want to just just drone on their hurting. They don't necessarily have the ability to articulate some these things. They may be so wrapped up in in guilt that that that they don't want to say anything shy I feel guilty for for say something I don't want to say that because her suffering so much and I I get that but the hurt of a caregivers important to let me put it in context. My wife has two prosthetic legs.

Okay citizenry feet if I cut my foot. I needed to treat what we should do anything she didn't have any feet.

I mean what I meant no duty with this.

That was anything about this particular injury because is nothing compared to hers. That's not the right attitude.

These are the only feet that she can depend on. And so it's important for me to address those issues as well.

They may not be as overpowering as hers are but they're still important and when it comes to matters of the heart were all on a level playing field and so these are things that you can start doing with the caregiver. Let them know. Ask a caregiver. When's the last time you saw your doctor with less than get physical. Those of those reported with Celeste on they went to the dentist that I know that in the covert, 19 world and it's hard to do all those things and I get that but that doesn't mean is not important and that doesn't mean that you can do it or did you shouldn't do it and so these are things that you can do to help a family caregiver offer to sit with her love. What if needed to know they can go and do those things work it out but call them just just check in with these are things that you can do to help a family caregiver
