Welcome to God, we have committed to encouraging you to put God first, while viewing life the window in the Bible. Now, in honor of the one and only true God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob left doing fine. See Thomas for today's message greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My name is Brian Thomas, and I am so honored and delighted that you have taken time out of your schedule to join me today on God first Bible Fellowship. I want to speak with you today on the topic.

The just have a candid conversation on the topic of do you attend a prophecy preaching and teaching church, let me clarify what I mean by prophecy because a few things can come to mind when you hear the word prophecy or once people speak about prophecy in church so there E is the prophetic gospel in which someone speaks a word. A prophetic word into your life.

It could be something concerning your job situation. It could be something concerning your family concerning your health and there is definitely a place for that. I'm deftly not against that of not knocking that and there's plenty of that out there but I'm speaking today on eschatology, meaning Bible prophecy concerning the return of Jesus Christ and concerning the return of our Lord and Savior.

When was the last time that you heard a sermon preached in church concerning prophecy concerning the return of Jesus Christ. Just to give you a moment to stop and think about it because I've talked with different people over the years and in that question has came up, and some people will say is been a year.

Some may say three years. Some may say five, some 10 of her 20 I've heard never does. Right, there are people that have never heard a sermon on Bible prophecy. On the return of Christ preached in the church their entire life. They been there for decades.

Three Ford five decades and they have never ever heard a sermon concerning the return of Jesus Christ.

Someone asked you the question today. What about your church. The church that you attend.

Do you hear sermons concerning the return of Jesus Christ. Do you hear sermons concerning the latter days of what the Bible refers to as the end of the age. What would come before the return of Jesus Christ. There is a major void in churches today and is baffling to me is puzzling to me as to why there is this major void. On one hand is baffling. On the other hand, is not because the Bible actually predicts that that would happen that what we see today.

With that the lacking of teaching and preaching of Bible prophecy of eschatology of the return of Jesus Christ that that would be a sign of his coming that there would be a great falling away with a lot of churches would turn away from that.

So in essence is not surprising, but woods baffling is when I look at the world and I look at the turmoil that is going on.

The Bible talks about pestilences, the things that we see had taken place in our society today. COBIT 19 swine flu, SARS, HIV AIDS. The Bible speaks about these things happening and then when it talks about what we see happening today with the racial tension is in the Bible. The Bible says in Matthew chapter 24 that that would be nation against nation, meaning ethnicity against ethnicity is in the Greek that word is written as F and those which is where we get ethnicity and so our Lord when he answered the questions to the disciples concerning what would be the sign of his coming.

In the end of the age. He gave a long list of things to look for one of the things he mentioned is that there would be nation against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and at first glance that can seem redundant when he says nation against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, but our Lord was actually referring to ethnic groups and as we look at what is happening today in the United States of America. Everything seems to center around racism. You just see it and hear it everywhere you turn now racism is just tension between the races between the ethnic groups in the Bible tells us that would be one of the signs. Then he also said kingdom against kingdom, meaning the different countries against one another, and so as I look at the climate. As I look at the landscape of society and I scratch my head because I see people in the church there going to church every Sunday and there is no preaching. There is no teaching concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As a matter fact I hear from more people who are nonbelievers, meaning they do not confess to be Christians. They do not confess to be believers in Jesus Christ. As far as accepting him as Lord and Savior.

They are more likely to look at what is happening in the world. From a biblical standpoint to look at what does the Bible have to say concerning these things that are taken place. Someone again asked you to question is you are at a church that does not preach and teach Bible prophecy. How are you feeling that void because it is a major void.

The Bible is approximately one third Bible prophecy is approximately one third concerning the second coming of Jesus Christ and so when you stop and think about 1/3 of the Scriptures that you're not getting unite here any teaching from it.

No preaching, no teaching, how are you feeling that void. As I look around what is happening today in churches, God called me to the ministry of eschatology to the ministry of Bible prophecy, and so that is a special focus that I have but that is not all that I need though.

So when I go to church.

I'm not just going to hear Bible prophecy all the time because I would not be a balance Christian, I would not be receiving everything that I need to receive as far as being taught the word of God. And then I would not be able to return what it is that I have received from God and being able to be a servant to others.

If that was all that I was doing so I need a balance. I need to hear about my marriage how to be a good husband I need to hear about how to be a good parent I need to hear about forgiveness. I need to hear about all of those things we need the balance we need the entire Scripture and God did not, you know, give us everything that he put in the Bible to to sort of feel the weight tests you know when you are in school, you have the right papers in the paper had to be a certain number of pages and so once you are finished writing all you really think of your your main content.

Your meat, you just come up with with filler information things, the sort of fuel that quota so you could get 10 pages so that you could pass the weight tests will God did need to do that he doesn't need to do that and so everything that he put in the Scripture.

He put it there for a reason they put it there for us to to read it into to study it. The book of Revelation is the most neglected book in the Bible but it is the only book in which the Scripture says very clearly right there in the beginning of the book that those who read and adhere to the words of that book received a special blessing. It is the only book in the Bible that actually gives that statement, but yet there's so many that avoided like the plague pastor stay away from it titling over pastor who said he told his a family member of years who was a pastor to stay out of the book of Revelation. Stay out of the book of Daniel, and you're asking yourself the question, how could someone who say they love the Lord and is been called to preach and to give his word could actually say they are staying a way from a particular book. That is what we have today and so I asked the question, how are you feeling that wards Darrell. Thankfully a lot of ministries out there that are centered around Bible prophecy. A lot of parachurch ministries that that people are turning to Alta hear from people who will say my church is not preaching and teaching about this. Do you know of a church that is preaching and teaching on Bible prophecy and the sad answer is there very few and far between. You can go and attend a church for many years. As I stated in your entire life and never hear anything about the return of Christ, and it causes me to ask the question, what message do you think that seems to our Lord. When you came to Jesus Christ. When you first got saved you excited you are reading your Bible, you were sharing it with other people. Maybe you thought about the day that you actually see him face-to-face. Then over time that that love that seal the fire began to wane, to begin to die. It makes me think of what you if you are a woman and you have a boyfriend or husband who's been deployed in the military.

He doesn't know how long his deployment is going to last. But he tells you before he leaves that he's going to send back letters and he's going to say they're going to be certain clues and cues free to look for his he's telling you that when you hear about certain things happening on the news that that will be in indicated to you that his deployment will be soon ending but he doesn't know exactly when is going to happen. So first you're looking for those letters if you're watching the news you're looking for those SKUs. Then over time you began to to forget about them matter fight over time you start to look towards other men, other lovers, you become interested in others. So when the time comes for this. This man, who you were in love with. At one point in time for him to return home. Your your heart and your mind is not there you not thinking about him is trying to contact you he's he's coming he's at the airport. He's trying to reach you in. He can't he can't locate you. You're nowhere to be found.

How do you think that makes him feel he's been off fighting for his country's been off trying to bring protection to the nation's been thinking about you that is hard to his mind is been longing for the time to be with you again and when he returns. You are nowhere to be found. You're not looking for him. As a matter fight you off with someone else with another lover that same feeling is how we meet Jesus Christ feels when we are not looking for his second coming is a matter fact it makes Jesus Christ feel even worse because Jesus Christ died for our sins. Jesus Christ suffered, he bled and died as the perfect sacrifice so that we could have eternal life. No other human being.

No man who's been deployed into the military could do such a thing is as much of the sacrifices him as a another human being could make Jesus Christ was God in the flesh. He was the perfect sacrifice he died so that we could have eternal life is much as I commend soldiers and in what they do is a great sacrifice I just I tip my hat to what soldiers do. Going away in and into the military going and voluntarily going to these foreign lands for the protection of other people, for there will be so commendable, something that so many of the large majority of the population would not do what is great is that he is not as great as what Jesus Christ did and that he came out of a perfect heavenly die so that we could have eternal life.

He suffered the dead. He gave the sin debt. He paid the sin debt by suffering the death that we should have suffered but he did it in our place. And all we have to do is accept him, so that we can have eternal life, but yet so many do not look forward to seeing him so many do not look forward to him coming back again. So many are breaking our Lord's heart heart and it just makes me think what are you looking forward to. If you're not looking forward to Jesus Christ. If you're not looking forward to his return would use it that you are looking forward to, because the Bible says that certain things that will come upon the earth. In the last days and we are certainly in those last days to take a short break, don't go away were going to come back and continue the discussion on do you attend a Bible prophecy teachers church you're listening to Brian Thomas only got more crying as if God is not or around the library. There you will find articles and messages available and downloads on various topics such as salvation, Bible lesson is just to name a few.

Also, sign up for our monthly newsletter and visit our web store return back to God first Bible Fellowship. My name is Brian Thomas and we are today discussing the topic of do you attend a Bible prophecy, teaching and preaching church is a major void in our society today is the major void in the church today.

But Jesus said that it would be a sign of the last days. He said there will be scoffers because not only are there are those who are in the church that are not looking forward to the return of Christ in him, even including pastors, but the Bible says that they would scoff at the idea at the topic. We deftly see that today because there are many debtor in church and they become hostile toward the topic of the return of Jesus Christ. They become very bent out of shape when you start to talk about Jesus Christ and his return and you ask yourself the question, why is it that you are in the faith. If you're not looking forward to the founder of the faith which is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ returning what is it what is your purpose. Why are you in the church.

If you are not looking forward to Jesus Christ. There is a very well known pastor nationally and internationally known pastor who made the statement some years ago. I'm not going to call his name, but you can do a quick Google search and you can find it.

He said the Bible prophecy was a distraction. That's right, a pastor of a Christian church, a church that has thousands of members a church that is known worldwide actually stated Bible prophecy is a distraction so that makes you think to yourself, God most wanted us to have a lot of distraction because he placed a lot of prophecy in the Bible is a ludicrous statement. It is a sad statement. It is a heartbreaking statement because, again, prophecy surrounds the return of our Lord I'm looking forward to him coming back again, I'm look out I would be I would welcome Jesus Christ returning back right now to bring in Ian to all of this turmoil that is going on in the world. I know he will one day is going to be in his own time and I have to patiently wait. We all have to patiently await our Lord's return, but he is going to come back again in the world is not going to come 2010, as so many people think our I remember hearing that, as a boy growing up, who's going to press the red button does going to destroy the whole world. When is the world want to come to an end, but know the world is not going to come, 20 and it may appear that it will. Once the tribulation is is really ramping up is going to appear that the world would destroy itself and matter-of-factly. Bible even says that would happen if it were for not for the fact that Jesus Christ is going to return and bring an end to it all and then he's going to set up his eternal kingdom and this is where we will live for eternity on the earth, heaven new Jerusalem is going to come down and be on this earth but is going to be a renovated earth is going to be a new and improved earth. He's going to burn away all the things that are contaminated all the things that are corrupt and he is going to to renovated in the sense and is going to be this earth is going to be a new and improved earth, and that is where we would will for all of eternity. He is coming back again and I am so much looking forward to it.

But there are so many today that a scoffing at the idea and if we just open our Bibles.

These things that we see taking place today. This racial tension.

The controversy around the nation of Israel. The pestilences that we see economic worries and troubles that we see wars and rumors of wars that we see the Bible says all of these things would happen. Earthquakes in various places. He said when you see all these things begin to happen to look up and watch, because your redemption draws near.

I'm looking forward to my Redeemer drawing near, because he is coming back again now that people asked me to question about why do I have a heart and a passion for Bible prophecy one I love Jesus Christ and I look forward to being with him is just like I gave the example earlier look of a lover that has been deployed in the military but is just like with my kids. I love my kids and when they go to spend the night with my parents know we talk about one night, but I look for the Lord to that next day, going to pick them up again or will my parents drop them back off it and at home. I look forward to being with him again because I love them along to be with them and so I in the same way alone to be with Jesus. I love Jesus and people asked me to question what calls me to become so interested in Bible prophecy that's that's the first answer but but secondly there are those out there who are devoted committed teachers and preachers with the emphasis on Bible prophecy. They'll say something that may have happened in their life that really turned them onto the topic for me it was just something that the Holy Spirit putting me at a very young age. I can remember when I was about 10 years old and I was out playing with my my cousins and we were riding bicycles. We stop for rest break and for whatever reason I started talking about the seven year tribulation that is coming in.

My cousins were a little younger than me. There were about the ages of seven and eight and I still remember them just to have been that glass over look on their faces as if they were thinking this guy has really lost it.

But the Holy Spirit just put that in me at a young age and and I have committed my my life ministry to teaching and preaching on the return of Jesus Christ. But it is just a topic that I cannot get enough of. But I have seen over the years and how the interests is waning, even in churches, there was a time when you would hear about Bible prophecy conference is happening. So even if church is that the pastors of churches were not delivering messages themselves, they would hold conferences in which they would invite speakers who have that that emphasis of their ministry to come in and to to give me a series of messages throughout the weekend to the congregation concerning Bible prophecy that is become rare.

Now you don't see and hear of that much anymore.

So you see the interest waning, and again this is what our Lord said would be a sign of his coming. There would be scoffers there would be markers that would be those who would say, people have been talking about is coming for all of my life and it has not yet come. He's not yet come. He said that will be a sign but I want to challenge you today is you attend a church that never or very rarely speaks about the return of Jesus Christ. I want you to address the issue, but you need to address it in the proper manner.

You need to do is respectfully, I want you to approach the pastor asked him. Can we have a series on Bible prophecy.

On the return of Jesus Christ is pastor feels like he's just not well-equipped which to be honest, I can understand how a pastor. If he says he's really called by God to preach how he could not feel equipped to preach certain parts of the Bible, but if he feels like he just has too much on his plate or cannot do, would then suggest to him that he brings in a Bible prophecy minister evangelist who can come in and and deliver a conference because it's something that assume so needed and I know there are those out there that will say well you know that is a topic that maybe is best for a Bible study or life group but II want to to challenge challenge people to feel that way, to say the know we needed in the Sunday morning sermon because one that is when you want to get the biggest crowd and everybody needs to hear it, understand it may be within a Sunday morning sermon that the details the ins and outs lead the intricacies of Bible prophecy. It is, it is definitely a very in-depth subject and it may be that you cannot go, but so deeply in a single sermon or even in a series of sermons, but at least presented from a high level and then you can carry it to the Bible studies into the life groups and you can dig deeper into it but a seed needs to be planted and what I've actually found is that there are people out there that do want to hear about it, especially when we have things taken place in the world like over 19, we saw our employment unemployment just skyrocket. All of a sudden, after the employment have been doing so great. A lot of people started to ask questions. What is happening. Is this a sign of the end.

So there are people out there that want to know so I wanted to challenge that the leaders of churches to to feed the people what they are seeking concerning the return of Jesus Christ concerning the signs of the times because he said don't be like it like those who were in the days of Noah in which they they went around about their daily lives as if nothing was going to happen. They went about their daily lives.

Even though Noah was building the ark. Noah said it was going to rain and they laughed and they mock the sender was never Ranger crazy there people out there today that also laugh in a mocking about the return of Jesus Christ. But he is coming back again and just like in the days of Noah were there were those who were found to be left outside of the ark. It was too late and they perished. They were destroyed and they're going to be built those today there want to be left behind because there they will be ready for the return of Jesus Christ. Even those who are sitting in the church pews every single Sunday, meaning will not be ready for his return.

He is coming back again and I want to challenge you today to get excited about it to become interested in it to look for forward to his return. And again, if you are at a church that does not preach and teach on it start to ask yourself the question, why is my church only given me this percentage of the Scriptures. Matter fact I heard someone a preacher who gave a very staggering statistic. He's a truth seeker and he preaches and teaches on Bible prophecy amongst everything else in the Bible and he actually stated that only 2 to 5% of the Bible is preached on a regular basis to let that sink in for moment only 2 to 5%. So if you are not one who is devoted to reading the Bible yourself to to study in Scriptures you are missing out on a huge part of the Bible, but the Bible is made up of 33% prophecy and we needed we needed. We needed that we needed today more than ever we look at what is happening in the world. The Bible talks about a great delusion that is coming a great deception that will come upon the earth and we see it happening. It also talks about the depravity that will come in Romans chapter 1. This is all prophecy and if you're not hearing it. If you're not studying studying that your are missing out.

You will not be ready so I want you to get excited about Jesus Christ. If your church is void in that area. I'm not telling you to pack your bags and leave. But I am saying to address it now. If you are there and and Tom continues ago body and the pastor refuses to to address the topic refuses to preach and teach on it, then you may very well need to go hidden and pack your bags and and find a church that we'll preach and teach on the on the return of Jesus Christ. Because I believe that anyone who is called by God is going to long for his return. Yes, it is a topic that is very much in-depth and I was talking with a pastor once about it in. He sort of sat back in his chair and he said well you know Bible prophecy takes a lot of studying and he was much older than me knew he was actually old enough to be my parents. So what went through my mind.

I wanted to say well studied in, but because he was much older. Out of respect helmets on but yes Bible prophecy require study and understand passes have a lot on their plate. You counseling your your teaching on various aspects of the of people's lives and people wore or wanted to have answers to their problems. Now, what better answer. Can you have, to a problem than to say Jesus Christ when he returns is going to bring the problem all to any and that is if you have placed your faith and trust in him, so I encourage you to do so. Yes, it is a subject that requires in-depth study and understand that again people have things going on in their lives, but the deceit, the devil is deceiving people into focus on the here and now we are created to be eternal. Don't get so bogged down and caught up in your problems that are going on today that you forget about the long term. Did you forget about the fact that we are going to live for eternity in the presence of our Lord in a trillion years from now the problems that you're having today are not going to matter. Trust me, it'll be long, long gone when shortening eternity. So don't get distracted by the things that are happening today.

Don't allow that that pastor that I mentioned earlier, the well-known pastor who said Bible prophecy is a distraction.

This a trick from the devil is not a distraction. It is actually something to give you a lot of hope it gives you a lot of joy when you know there's something better coming in the union when you know that you have a diagnosis of terminal cancer you know that you are out of a job.

You own the streets, knowing the Jesus Christ is coming back again and that he's going to take us to a place in which were going to have a mansion in the father's house that gives you so much hope and joy.

So don't allow the devil to deceive you into it being a distraction put in the work to study for putting the effort to understand it because when you do you will have a heart for evangelism. You will be on file you to live a righteous and holy life. We do know that he could return at any moment you will think twice before you sin you want or you will think twice before being called an act of fornication because you may say to yourself what if Jesus Christ comes back during the season and then you will be on fire to evangelize and to share the word with others. I want to thank you for joining me today.

Please come back again and join me next week as we close.
