Amen. Okay, so we are in Hebrews chapter 2.

Last week we covered the first four verses of Hebrews chapter 1, I wish I could do the balance in chapter 1, but I don't have time to do that and all chapter and we get back in January will be in Hebrews chapter 3's.

I want to really try to take Hebrews chapter 2 and have us all learn something incumbent of the Lord more deeply over the past 17 years ministry that I found back in 2003. Finding purpose is hosted 14 events here in Raleigh at the Carolina country club. The reason we chose the Carolina country club was because a central location and we were trying to reach businessmen with the gospel and I ended up everyone that attended all those events and the number comes to about 6000 primarily me and the women and I hesitate you store the majority hopes that the majority probably the very large portion of those who attended these events heard a clear presentation of the gospel, but I believe that most of them moved on with their lives without giving serious consideration to what they just heard. Sadly, this is the response of most of the people that you and I know they hear the message but they just drift through life with apparently no real interest in the gospel.

They are forever hearing but never understanding and that brings us to Hebrews chapter 2 said to follow along with me begin with verse one.

The writer of Hebrews writes we must pay more careful attention. Therefore, do what with her so that we do not what drift away. Since the message spoken by Angels was binding in every violation and disobedience received its just punishment.

How shall we escape, if we ignore so great a salvation.

This salvation which was first announced by the Lord was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit that horse were distributed according to his will in the tonight man I would answer four questions.

First, what we heard what should be our response. What has Jesus done for us and number four what is Jesus doing for us right now. So what have we heard where we have heard the gospel of Jesus Christ. Remember, the writer of Hebrews is addressing his fellow Jews and he's reminding them of what they have heard the gospel that this Jesus of Nazareth, who lived among them.was buried and was raised again the third day you hear this message from your first this salvation was announced to them by Jesus himself. You may remember that in Luke chapter 4 when Jesus returned to his hometown. He went to the synagogue and the tradition was that whenever a visiting teacher, Rabbi was present that would invite him to read. The reason for that day.

Chapter 61, and here's what he rates. He said I will return to you was talking about his spirit, the Holy Spirit is also known as the spirit of God, or the spirit of Jesus is God's spirit living in us and is his spirit who testifies with our spirit.

For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claim to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like man and birds and animals and reptiles, and therefore says God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. But you know what, you never hear anything about hail in churches anymore because our enemy the devil doesn't want us to know about the existence of a real little place called hell is he wants to know that his own existence.

So Satan has done a masterful job in our country tickly and liberal churches could see both his own existence and the very existence of hell. So here's a warning look at verse three.

That brings us to verses five through 18, which I'm ready get here. We get to see why the gospel offer such great salvation begin with verse five.
