I'm hearing any value and worth actually is the root of the problem really perpetuated by the culture of isolationism that were leading and this is family policymakers with NC family Pres. John Weston thank you for joining us for family policy matters expect just about everyone listening to this program through radio, the Internet will podcast would agree that our culture is in need of a serious resurgence of virtue and infusion of decency and dignity. We see the evidence of this need all around us, whether in the media, political campaigns, the entertainment industry, videogames are in our schools and universities, and yes even in our homes is really all around us now, a growing number of young people, however, are taking the initiative to change not just their own lives, but also to encourage their peers in the culture large to engage in meaningful ways to confront these cultural deficiencies had own and to bring back a sense of decency and virtue to our culture. Our guest today is Christina Barbara, founder and president of the culture project international, which seeks to restore culture through the experience of virtue.

The culture project started in 2014 with 30 friends who found today's cultural lacking and they set out to revitalize their generation through community through prayer formation and work Christina who has had a lifelong passion for proclaiming the dignity of human life was awarded the 2016 defender of life award by students for life of America and she joins us today to discuss this exciting mission work that is taking place across our nation and in our own backyards.

Christina welcomed a family policy matters. It's great to have you with us on the show will not get the great joy be on the side so Christina, what is the mission of the culture project and what was the impetus for you to begin this work in your interview. I think the topic today really realized that our culture and not heading in a direction that a lot of them are not in place that would Artie love about needing decency and dignity.

I think that's really on the project started with a group of really tried and lived in our culture and found it wanting, we now get complaining about what we thought around sexuality, eating, family, marriage quality that you and we got complaining about what's going on do something like being changed and now we had locked the goal of the project, the grand one. We are setting out to restore culture to write a letter through promoting the dignity of the human person to promote a healthy dating relationship. Helping Eric get to promoting sexual integrity actually believe that like through little tiny everyday. Stefan deficient her virtue, one person at a high we can actually make a huge impact where a group of young adult missionaries that many community praying together and go out and invite other young people into the joy that we have in life that were letting me speak about sexual integrity and human dignity all across the country and around one half years and spoken to and encountered over hundred 50,000 young people and we have shared with them, virtue, dignity and respect. It is unbelievable the way David onto it so we have this grandiose goal to restructure our art culture. People think how you store the culture and think about you anybody you mean making a decision to live virtue and not being afraid to share that lifestyle and other people and fit to share people to join in a way that I'm living it is big, big vision and a big big mission, but it comes down as you said to just those daily decisions that we make now Christina, I know this you argue that nearly all of the pain and emptiness and suffering that young people experience today and there's a lot of that is rooted in a commonplace talk about the two huge and complicated but actually the same time. I really think that we have forgotten society who we are. Email of our identity by dignity. We are sons and daughters of the King.

We have forgotten we are made in the image of God or me out of love for love, and I actually think that understanding our inherent dignity and value and worth. Actually the root of the problem really perpetuated by the culture of isolationism that were leading and promoted by technology but really when it comes down to it virtue like way of life that allows us to break through all of these things and to live on the free and full that the truth of the matter is we don't know who we are anymore.

Make some yell at so many of these young people believe Their hike long for a lasting relationship.

When they look around man come home with mom and dad together, which is so rare you base that will carry on really thinking the home and in the family the first place that we actually learn who we are. No MEC love modeled on that me know what it's like to live for one another and the way I parent love each other and really like a little kid got for one hard to understand you know reality, really. I really believe that we are anymore and now I know it not only need to be like that whole human experience.

It is completely forgotten and I think it in everyday life. Going back to the total lack of that common to the same thing back to the same place you were listening to policy matters of resource from to listen to our radio show online resources that will be a voice of persuasion in your community to our website NC family.org. I know Christina is you go out and talk to young people across the country you encounter a lot of different situations and challenges that they present. When you speak with young people what all the major challenges that you encounter my last comment, longing and desire that young people you know more and it's really for God and an kit like how your life be meaningful. I think a lot of these young people like fear and apprehension, a lot of them can't even begin that what they long for and what they dream is even possible, no what they're longing for the dream. I can't even picture the dream because they didn't have it modeled in their life. So I think I think really know how challenges were facing one is really just like marriage and family, and there's really not we can do about that. Another big challenge is acknowledging I mean gosh we are in a world that has never been more interconnected than ever, but is more, everyone feels more alone and isolated than ever. Their summary John parents have come to us. Thank you thank your kids but could you get even more basic. Could you talk about friendship of my real friend is completely grown up in a generation. I think I like about social media and you friendship a Facebook friend is someone you like. Not even noticed that the old mutual interdependent relationship.

Young people are struggling any basic basic relationship think that would work getting we take for granted, even when I was growing up so different today. I think There's A Lot Going on There Isn't a Picture That They Can Picture Her Then Fouled the Dream and Take a Picture for Themselves What They Want. Our Our Our Challenge Is to Try to Break through the Newly of What the World Is Selling Them and Offering Them Today, and Drugs and Alcohol.
