Welcome to the Friday edition of The Encouraging Word featuring the Bible-based preaching of Dr. Don Wilton stay together in these next few moments will be bringing you the conclusion of a powerful message.

Can we survive Dr. Don Wilton as we study the word together. Dr. Donald want us to remind you we are here to praise you through whatever's going on in your life you may feel like you are just barely hanging along. It's hard to survive, but there's no need for you to strive for that alone God is created the body of Christ. The church that we might encourage one another and where to encourage you at the other end of 866899 word that phone number is 866-899-9673 or we can connect online as well. At TW online.org where to pray with you and for you. Matter fact we're just here to encourage you that Dr. will let me just simply say this to you. It is very us to understand the things that Daniel is about to see. There is a Saints in which Daniel Karen chapter 9 you seen singing something God is moving you just think about it for 67 years Daniel has roof so the food from the Kings type strike in the span he's watched the antics of Shadrach me shack and Abednego he has been to the false man in the fiery furnace dreams and maybe meaning technical fossil and even though you still don't know what it means. There was something deep down in the hot ice this of the heart of the sovereign God of the sovereign God. The righteousness of God upon the disobedience of God's people, so Daniel begins to prepare himself and he says to the Lord Lord before I turned to you in prayer. I'm going to prepare myself for prayer. Something that I think we have lost sight of one Oscar rhetorical question of all of us. You I wonder how many of us prepared ourselves to coming to God's house this morning.

I could never understand that when I was growing up.

Brother Jim, my bed would say to me, son done come home so late on Saturday night and scorch the Lord's day tomorrow, went in one ear and out the other.

It didn't matter, but you know the older I become and the more I study God's word, the more I have come to understand something deeply significant about preparing coming to the presence of God. What I want you to notice what he did during I'm just going to outline it for you very briefly. First of all, Daniel turned away from himself. He turned away from himself.

If you are going to turn to God, we go turn away from ourselves.

To begin with we need to become irrelevant in the picture my desires, my own interpretations my own understandings my own preferences my own ways of doing become irrelevant. I need to turn my back on my so number two Daniel turned to God. Verse three chapter 9, so I turned to the Lord, we come to grips with real intercessory prayer we must begin by turning away from ourselves and we going to see how this works out in just a moment and we need to about-face and turned completely toward God.

That means that our focus and out needs to be on the things of God.

I don't want to pick on my bed that was used just really when I was growing up and I know it may sound ridiculous to some of us here but but I grew up hearing this coming from my father's study. I'm telling you morning off the morning if not almost every morning my dad would be in his study on his knees, and you could hear him pray.

You could hear this kind of drone going through the house. That's what I grew up with and if if you would peeping the dad study which we did offer that was on his knees that Eddie's Eddie's desk ready's chair just pouring his heart out and on Sunday morning on his baby. You know, in fact, I kind of almost presented some things in away because I was a preacher's kid and I kind of felt like home resembled more of a more than a bit on. I mean it just it was just so was prayer in preparation.

You know what I'm saying for a teenager. It was kind of aggravating.

I mean, I wanted to get out there and do something, but my father believed that if he was to come into the house of God and into the presence of God and if he was to be able to present the one God was from on high that he needed to wipe from himself God. Any need to focus his attention on God's grace, I will not will go to a ballgame and go to bed late and get up at the last possible moment will rush off and get to church at the latest possible moment). The gong strikes and all these things and believe me, we understand that it happens in my household and we are so busy and many of us coming and we sit down in God's house and we start we might okay let's have church. One of the greatest blessings we have in this church's television ministry wouldn't change it for anything but it's not a total blessing because it causes the clock to control us.

We like that, by nature, with or without television.

I mean we started this time and weekend. At that time and we you know we already oriented people. Same thing God was God was going to do what God was going to do because he is he is complete he turns away from himself to God and he said anything else to interrupt me. I want to be totally focused thing he does is he begins to plead with God verse three I turned to the Lord and pleaded with him. Now that would plead that means big and folks, if you going to bang on chapter 9 you begin to understand this intercessory prayer is punctuated with begging, pleading, talk, talk here prayers and petitions in verse 17, verse 16, all in verse 15 down in verse 19 want to listen let you forget what we believe without hope.

Outside of you really believe that God intends for us to plead for our children really believe that I really believe that one of the reasons today. Why are some of the load is because my mom and dad got on the needs and pleaded like big gall to have mercy on me. I just beg God. Lord, please, please, whatever you do don't punish that boy, have mercy on him, Lord, I know he's a Ross glass Lord just just become God. Now what does the Bible say the prayer of a righteous man of violence much gripe. In fact, I'm going to show you just might be signs on black, jump a little bit ahead and you know something when the angel Gabriel comes to Daniel way down there in verse 23 he says I'm going to give you because you all highly esteemed white cast Daniel on his knees pouring his heart turn away from self to God completing this is what God says about you to say.

He says someone who is willing to prepare themselves to esteem them highly. Intercessory prayer warriors all highly esteemed people really believe that's why mothers got such a very special place in the heart of God as the average mother knows what it means to pour out of hock for sons and daughters model, but many of us dad's we just to masculine, not man thing to do. We prefer to just be a little quiet folks I've heard people and I believe reverence is very important, but I've heard people say when you come to church. You need to be so reverent you need to hear, not according to God's word: God's word God's people need to be crying out to God there's a problem in the house of God.

When people come to church and all I do is sit around and look at each of you know why they many people today who will leave churches that are on fire for God and they'll go to places that quote unquote quiet is because anyone who comes into the house of God, and who worships God. It makes them very uncomfortable. But God says those who plead and big in his presence, all highly esteemed. Well, it was a full thing he did, he might petition says that in verse three. So I turned to the Lord. I pleaded with him in prayer and petition might petition the petition by the way is kind of like having a list. Sort of like getting a list of things and saying about all these things you I've had this year. I've done that I've had to swallow job on this. This person that person a petition is to go to God saying we are presenting you with the facts. News what's on your petition list. He was very specific. Number five. He went through. Her foster that in verse three he says I went to him in prayer and petition in fostering fostering there basically means two things you want to come to grips with spiritual fostering. It means two things.

It means number one that you are willing to do without costing me. Yes, it might be food maybe some other form of pleasure might be without something that you can gain hello Maura motor call. Maybe, without going on a trip somewhere to false means that you are willing to do in your self something about all your time with God. You put yourself out for him, but it also means a second in the Scriptures, fostering not only means to do with but it needs to seek exclusively that's what it means fostering means deprivation of myself in relation to something that would benefit me to seek exclusively the face of God forgive the interruption will be back with more of Dr. Don Wilton's Bible teaching, especially focusing that concept of prayer being a quality of the heart that's coming up in just a moment Dr. Don Wilton remind you to pray with you 24 hours a day were connecting at 866899 word that's 866-899-9673, and online@wonline.org by now, if you visit us online, you'll see a wonderful book Jesus and me and Graham lots one encouraged to consider getting this book not only with your $30 contribution provided that book, but also would provide some fuel to the ministry that we are 24 hours a day celebrating Jesus Christ literally around the country and around the globe with these messages of Dr. Don Wilton conducted on them. Talk about a lot… Receive no salary from encouraging none of his books he receives any that money when you buy one of his books are one of Engram lots books.

That's an opportunity for you to contribute to the ministry of seeing life changed every single day. How gospel or information is online how you can give@twonline.org now that today's message can there was a six thing that he did he mourn it, put on sackcloth and ashes picture morning morning literally means that he closed himself genuine sorrow on the half of those he was praying for.

Now this is very interesting here folks, this is very interesting because what Daniel is teaching us here he sign that if we are going to intercede on behalf of a people group all on be half of another nation are on be half of another person or on behalf of another circumstance water but might be all these things are going to do, but have to not only myself but I have to this morning done full morning is always associated with an someone is doing here. He is morning the children of Israel. Now that takes some doing for a believer, you know that's like you coming to me you'll Sam if I could pick on Sam. I know that I can pick on Sam. Sam and I wanted to what God would be saying is I want you to begin morning for the death of Jimmy. 50 years from now, after the Jimmy's very much alive you love she's your wife what you mean morning for her. She hasn't got well is saying here.

Intercessory prayer is a quality of the hardware by God. So me with compassion, which is going to happen.

God be pleased to change his mind. So what is intercessory prayer intercessory prayer is your and my begging with God to change his mind, and you feel this but this just I think just get a little but let's just pick on Miss Barbara and I pick on you from this precious lighting. Let's just assume for mom and we got to go back. You are a lost Christian you don't know the Lord Jesus. What God invites me to do is to intercede on your Baja is a lost person and installing the seating he puts into my heart. I spiritual condition of morning it is weeping it is. I realize I should, that if Miss Barbara doesn't come to know Jesus Christ that she's going to go to a crisis eternity.

So what I'm doing here folks is Barbara what God said he would do to be a change of heart and a change of mind. Why, because God says those who do not trust me cannot come into my presence will God want you to change your mind about the means by which someone come into your presence like your spirit and get all that lady that I love because every morning for her impending it puts a real passion into my heart.

I should imagine that many of us here tonight sons and daughters and family members who don't know Jesus Christ.

You see, we bought a picture of humility here and then number seven number seven in the final thing he does see confessions now this whole passage is just food with confession so you have your preparation, then from verse four through 19. You have Dupree and that prayer is very simple verse form you get acknowledgment and adoration, whose goal I'm turning to God I'm focusing on God. I'm putting my attention on God. Verses five and six confession Lord I'm willing to say to you, the nation of Israel have sinned morning to tell you that I I'm willing to tell you that I not only do not deserve anything, but I am bringing this up on myself. I want you to know the nation of Israel does not deserve to be set free. You said back in Jeremiah chapter 25 that unless your people turn to God and uphold the statutes and laws that even though I've saved 70 years they will be set free will not be set free because you put a condition verses seven through 10 we have an incredible admission of guilt. And that word shame comes through this so many times but this day we are covered in shame. It is just so powerful. We are covered in shine verse 80 Lord, we are now kings and our princes and our fathers covered with shame because we have sinned against you in verses 11 through 14.

The acceptance of judgment framed God's Word teaches us that we've got to come to the point where we accept the fact that God says what he means any means what he says but accepted we got accept the fact that God is sovereign God will not tolerate sin, and that God is a holy God in all these attributes are to be found in his holiness, and then the final part is this incredible petition now regarding verse 17 really goes all the way back from verse 15 hear the prayers and petitions of your servant, and he begins to cry from the depths of his heart and friends. It's it's it's at this point it's something incredible takes place, the angel Gabriel comes to him second time and stands there over him begins to kill him. Everything that God has in his heart for his people, and then throughout the ages. Let's just give your preview I'm going to be giving you a kind of an outline of how this all works out. It's quite clear if you sit down and really look at.

I'm going to explain to you what the 77s all the decree of God to remove the holy city of Jerusalem.

We got to go back and look at me in my check to see what this was all about going to count the clock down. I'm going to show you something very interesting folks. Can I just cite sites before we leave today you go back and you calculate what God is saying here the 77s. It's 490 years.

Of course I'll let me not getting the details right in the 62 sevens and the Salmon sevens and you calculate all this from the time of the issuing of the Cree you going to calculate almost exactly the year 33 A.D. what happened in the year 33 A.D. Jesus Christ was crucified not going to show you that it actually comes out to about the year 35 3680.

Some of you going to say to me, will foster this a little bit of a miscalculation here, but that isn't.

It's quite simple.

See the Hebrews used a luminous system to calculate the days basically 360 days were in the year. What kind of system do we use the solar system 365 days a year.

And when you go back into the writings of Josephus and some of these other great historical writers Frank you constantly find that they were having to readjust the calendars because the Jewish calendar was all out of whack. I just didn't get onto it. They just didn't get all so we going to calculate this back to about 35 A.D. with the Bible says that the anointed one will be cut every day to see how this is an incredible gap between the caulking all of the anointed one, the crashing of the temple in A.D. 70 on room Ursula Caesar and how that we enter into this church age and how that the clock is going to start taking again with the final seven years.

It is going to be initiated for the Christian Gentile by means of the rapture of the church and it is going to be initiated for Israel and for the use by the signing of a covenant between the antichrist and the Jewish nation. Let's try to all the way back in Daniel incredible you want to know what the activities of the antichrist. All you course go back into chapter 8 we going to do that. Going to see the prototype on the antidemocracy companies came out of the Greek empire we going to see how that God's word correlates precisely with everything that God is folks watch this and are close with this into the middle of all of this. What we see we see the servant of God on his knee, interceding on be half of the people of what an incredible picture and here's what happens.

God hears his prey what happens at the end of chapter 9 is in response to the prayer of a righteous man, but it is tied into the predetermined foreknowledge of God, real intercessory prayer that indeed is the central concept of ministry actions. My own confession I knew about active in my church didn't save when it comes to what really matters in. That's the most important.

That is indeed entrance to heaven knowing Jesus person speak what is to call us at 866899673, perhaps before you call. You just need to act and react to what Dr. Don's about to say right now. Are you ready you pray this prayer with me right now.
