God has an encouraging word for you and me today. The Bible-based preaching of Dr. Don Wilton in a study of the book of Matthew.

Today we pick up where we left off yesterday in Matthew chapter 6 with this message and unique title. What else can we say to God. Joy is God using this broadcast to let you know he loves you and he wants you discover in a few minutes. Just what Dr. God is talking about in this understanding of the progression we have is continually being changed by Christ is not just something that happens in one else will. Today we discover the ongoing process of coming more like Jesus would like to have someone praying with you before you call us at 866899 word that's 866-899-9673 or online@gwonline.org now Dr. Wilson. These men did a great deal with the Lord Jesus Christ. They were with him when he fed the 5000. If you remember they were with him when he went up and down the highways and byways. They were with him when he died. Great public discourse as they were with him in private moments they had been with him when he walks down the road to the cross, but I think that perhaps under the function and power of the spirit of God. They were being prepared in their hearts for the ultimate doctrines of our Lord Jesus when he looked out on the cross and he said father forgive them for they know not what they do Jesus Christ dialogue with royalty, even though he was and is royalty himself and perhaps one can understand a little someone of their consternation, or perhaps some B desire to do that which was correct and so they turn to Jesus and I said to him, in essence, Lord Jesus.

When we to heavenly father can we say to him, how can we touch and it is at this point that we find in Matthew chapter 6 and right throughout the Gospels that Jesus gave to them what I believe to be and what God used to be the royalty I believe that Jesus Christ was doing with prayer was that he was saying to his disciples to know and understand God's initiative. I don't want you to go through life wondering what it is that you may or may not do when you want to come into the presence of his Royal highness the king understand what it is that he gives you permission to say I want you to know the significance of what it means to touch the hem of his garment. And so it is yet in Matthew chapter 6 that the Lord Jesus Christ with that marvelous compaction that deep insight into the limitation about a human being that Jesus said I want you to know something. This then is how you should pray to be able to play along these lines, why because prayer is looking to God. It is communion with God. It is touching the hem of his garment. It is your entrance into his Royal highness, and I want you to know if you follow these standards that you never going to be driven from public office. I want you to know that when you meet God on God's not going to find you so bound by ritualistic and meaningless expression, but that day to be good into the mastermind of the most unbelievable reservoir of fresh wood that is being given to replenish the first of mankind that Jesus was saying that at this juncture. This then is how you should pray, God has given us permission and I want to give to you, perhaps just a little glimpse into the substance of the character of God. Father which art in heaven, hallowed be your name.

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth just as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread and forgive us our as we also have forgiven our beaches and lead us or prevent us from being led into temptation, but her father deliver us from either one is this possible, the disciples would say to the Lord Jesus Christ. We have been given permission by his timeless because his glory time is the is the manager's and forever and forever. And if you want to touch the heart of God. So let it be. It is written, and thus it is said our Lord Jesus Christ shared with his disciples.

So what is it that we can say to him, where does that leave us visit. Do you suppose the God says we can do young people to visit this blog say that you can say to him insight. How do we tell God how do we approach him please God, please go is one of the subject. Well, Jesus provided us with a marvelous insight into a never ending wellspring of life. Number one, we must establish we must affirm his paternity. We got to come into his presence and say to him you all my father, Jesus established that when he gave us the Lord's prayer, he said. Often these lines, but first and foremost, don't forget who God is, when you talk to him. He's dead. Don't forget that he's due.

That's what Jesus was saying if you understand who the father is. If you are willing to establish his family's paternity. You understand that daddies put them into fear that give basic allow loneliness.

They help us overcome. They take care of our needs and provide our resource. You know, I wonder where the Lord Jesus when he gave us the modes prayer might've had in mind a beer baby later father dear daddy, maybe we could just close the door like this. What you think.

Just think about it. Father which art in heaven. Think of all the things that he means, but you know the Lord Jesus dug so deep into this will I think what he was saying to us is that when we talk to God. We must not only affirm his paternity. But we must establish his primacy. Look again with me in verse nine he did not believe that the father which art in heaven, but he added this loose and most remarkable phrase that we become so accustomed to. Don't you think perhaps hallowed be thy name.

I remember in building school.

We had a little cute phrases about how to interpret hallowed and wanted me, but I'm not going to get into those we could say this in all different kinds of ways but is it about the Lord Jesus Christ that that when he gave to us and insight in how to to God that he not only said we need to affirm his paternity. But we need to establish his primacy. You see what Jesus perhaps was saying to us is that God's name represents that he is the Lord Jesus Christ was so is that when we say the design know we all tapping into the character to the plan and to the mighty God. I think Moses understood this back in Exodus chapter 35 verses five through seven remember what happened.

Moses, in which the respondent God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness and in truth keeps lovingkindness for thousands, gives iniquity and transgression and sin, which art in heaven, there is no Locklin about God in heaven, hallowed be your name. You see, when we talk about the name of God with boasting on his faithfulness when betrothed with God was faithful we tap into that resource which is unchangeable in Psalm 20 in verse seven. Some boast in chariots and some boast in the forces we in the name of our love that go to the psalmist was saying he was side you can have your chariots and you can have your horses and you can have the and you can have everything, but that there is likely why because alone is the use call I made this morning how father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy my desk.

There is affirm his paternity boss. But to put them up there for me establish his primacy number three number three in versus program endorses program related to God. You want to know what a trip to God about Jesus told us, endures his program of adversity in your kingdom, a focus on grade school question, not hands me to go rhetorical?

I know hands go up. How many of you would say in your heart today when you play.

Thy kingdom come, as we both play. How many of us, and I'm putting myself in that boat, I want you to know the magic. Do you think we crying about heaven one day. That's what I think when I played that ritualistically or sincerely this is when you prayed locking them, what you doing is you're actually playing for something that one day is going to be there and we know it's going to be there and that's heaven but you know what Jesus was saying something fall murder significant than that. You see friends pleading is inseparable from his kingdom. You cannot run from the other and our greatest desire God says is to see the kingdom of God, and in the text. When you begin to understand this and in the sum by mentions of the Greek text via kingdom come means. Thy kingdom come, now immediately doesn't mean we want heaven now immediately absolutely doesn't mean we want to be with Jesus right now immediately absolutely folks they want to is that the Bible teaches us that the kingdom of God comes now, you might want to write these down there and what was Jesus saying when he said we need to pray, thy kingdom, what is that it can come right now. One day when we get to heaven one day, when the book of Revelation comes to boss and Jesus Christ comes to rain upon the snow. That is a very important part of what Jesus Christ was saying, but there are two ways in which the kingdom of God comes right now. The first is by conversion by conversion. Remember what happened to Nicodemus in John chapter 3, Nicodemus came to Jesus and he said to him, he said to monster. How can I into into the kingdom of heaven. What did Jesus say to him, he said in Nicodemus unless you all again. You cannot enter and that into means truly cannot appropriate now. You cannot become type of right now at this instant, you cannot be saved, not only now but time and for all eternity version since what is Jesus saying Jesus is saying this when you try to talk to God about you need to talk to him about conversion because it is the absolute primary step to gaining the kingdom of heaven, and the kingdom of heaven begins immediately. You give your life to Jesus Christ. You see folks not just save time cost not to save time present that I am continually being so until I come into God's presence is the kingdom of heaven that wonderful. It is wonderful and I know it's not wonderful interrupt. Dr. Wilton insists I remind you we are here. If questions come to mind. If you like to have someone pray with you, or maybe dig a little deeper in the sum of these concepts. We here at 866-899-WORD 866-899-9673 or online as well.

TW online.org get a brand-new website were working out the kinks@twonline.org come by and take a look. Now back to Dr. Wilton. You given your heart to Jesus, God's kingdom has come in your heart. So the first appropriation of thy kingdom come as soon conversion, but there's a second appropriation of that and that's called commitment.

You see that's why Jesus was saying this to his disciples. I disciple is someone who is committed to following Jesus Christ.

Someone who is committed to doing what Jesus Christ wants us to do when he spoke about when he spoke about conversion. He said this in Matthew chapter 13, he said the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field only right and when is found appropriated that treasure is received, which is conversion. Immediately we move into second and the secondary via kingdom, is commitment so because this means that the corn are responding to the Jesus Christ in their lives. That's what it means to pray for thy kingdom come, folks listen when we trip to the we need to affirm his paternity. We need to establish his primacy.

We need to his program. What is his program, his kingdom that sees program if you'd be so kind as to give me another 15 weeks I'll preach on his kingdom. We gain the we we need to go back and we need to uncover everything about this king and his kingdom.

What is it that God says to those who follow him related to the king and his kingdom. We need to apply his plan. We had a talk to God. One of the things we can trip to him about is the dictation all his plan now want you to look with me at verse 10 of the second part of the Bible says your kingdom come alive for as the embarrassment of his program, thy will be done on just the same as it is in heaven now we talking to God about the application of these plan our willingness to apply his plan in the daily routine of our lives apparent contradiction. Perhaps because we struggle between the sovereignty of God and the free will of man we know that my will is done on just as it is in heaven. I don't understand that I cannot explain it to you completely, but I am day to say to you, my beloved friends in Christ.

You must try to solve the dilemma between the solvency of God and man. You need to understand that God is sovereign only allow us to happen. What happens because of the sovereign, that he commands us to make choices about his sovereign will. God gives us an option see, folks, that's when we slip into this area God's permissive will and God's divine rule. Read on for what God is doing there is God's permissive route, God allows us to do things that are not in keeping with him Betsy's permissive to be his divine will that is doing what God wants us to do so don't try and save this dynamic, believe and act on God's truth. Jesus Christ was saying this, how do we respond we cited generators we listen we go to families paternity establishes primacy and sees program in applying his plan, and so when we talking to him is what we go to Fairways to do ready number one you need to pray aggressively pray aggressively. You need to go for the gold you need to move on the attack. You need to be on the offense of not the defense of when it comes to the will of God, thy will be done.

Let me tell you, folks, that is an affirmative statement that God is giving to us is not only instructional but it is affirmative it is absolutely positive, probably simply in your heart for the God to be done in other words to write concerning the sovereignty of God. You know why there's nothing to capitulate about God is sovereign not open to discussion.

People come up to me from time to time and I say to me is God sovereign.

I said absolutely they say proved. I said I don't have to prove it to use the just is. God is sovereign in every conceived number one pray aggressively number two play expectantly. That is pray with faith. Chapter 18 in verse one to lose Hall play expectantly, not only aggressively for the will of God, expectantly, number three pray specifically what a Roman spring God gives to us when we talked to him. He says pray specifically not only aggressively, he says to us not only expectantly, but you need to find specific, I mean name like Mr. Dillard you need a frightful brick. We know that we will pray for him to because we love them so much apologize, but if you're up there somewhere right now. I specifically call people by my told about everything number for play submissively play submissively. That means that you're willing to acquiesce you willing to accept God's rule. When you apply his plan. Jesus took this one step further. He said when you trip to God request his provision is marvelous your folks look at verse 11.

He says give us today our daily bread nondata conference Steve this morning that I said to myself I'm really going to do an analysis of what Braden really is you know Jesus is, you know, pray for baby bread wheat we need to do for this. Give us this day our daily bread, folks, and it's all good. I've heard people say this is not luxuries.

This is needs and this is not my boat that I want so badly to go down to like body fishing with and is not the new golf clubs that I need.

This is Bridwell.

I began to study and audit great theologian. This is what he said listen, he said everything necessary for the preservation of life is braided everything necessary for the preservation of life is braided, guess what Jesus said. He said when we talk to God.

We got permission from his Royal highness to request his provision. How do we talk to him with families paternity establishes primacy diocese program. We apply his plan. We request his provision. Folks, he takes it even further than that, we must plead for his part, that's what it means right in verse 12. Forgive us our dates just as we have forgiven those who have sinned against us. Plead for his part, God's word tells us beloved friends that confession is a vital part of our prayer line Jesus in his Lord's prayer sees very specifically, we must plead with God for his part, and when we do so, he will readily give us his part. Why because we are sinners business that can forgive us, Jesus Christ often can we do this every steward, every day is premises and we do this because of his righteousness is holiness. He's a loving God. Just think about it, but you know, lost but not least Jesus said we must claim his protection.

He says in verse 13 deliver us from evil that they literally means, please prevent me from being delivered into the hands of the evil one. Please prevent me from being delivered into the hands of the evil one. When we talk to God.

We need to pray for one another. We need to pray for the protection of children. We need to pray for the protection and the godliness about young people about college students on college campuses. Many of our young people grow up in our churches. They go to college campuses and they all bow on the ballot that we got a new God says listen, pray to him for his protection. Pray that God is going to give our young men and ladies enough resources and resilience to take a stand for Jesus Christ. Let the work that's what he says. And when we come into the presence of this God and we Jesus says listen this so much that you can say to him. Perhaps you're nodding yes I know I need to talk to God. I need to spend more time in prayer for do it. I pray that you take what Dr. Donner said today. The challenge from God's word to move forward not to stay not to be content to stay where you are in your prayer life in your Bible study life in your life of just saying yes to Jesus before we get away closing thoughts from our pastor Dr. Don Wilton are you ready to give your heart and life to the Lord Jesus Christ.
