The Bible is clear laws, generosity from a worshipful heart and driving as a pattern clearly shows us that that's the baseline that's the beginning of this generosity from a worshipful heart and it increases from the if you think tithing will stretch your wallet waiting to see what comes next. Hello and welcome to this month. The addition of Destin for victory with pastor Paul Sheppard. Today we have a word of encouragement for you when you obey God in the area of giving it only blesses you every single time he blesses you beyond what you gave today's message is coming right up there with us here. Remember you can always listen to or download the podcast of Pastor Paul.net at Apple, podcasts, or wherever you get yours now is Pastor Paul. Today's Destin for victory message money matters made me a title before God and what he chores she would give it to us in change three quarters 2×1 nickel and she looked at one of the dimes and said that belongs to God.

Take it the Sunday school with and give it to God and end of $0.90. He will bless you taught that as a child I used to get up in our church. They would take the money a certain lame and had kind of a covering on the Windows and it was a little crack and I remember one day looking through.

There's a little boy and the trustees when there is no money because I wanted to see the Angels come down and pick up sleep number six. Remember, we will see some angel looking for it was said that belongs belongs to God and he said you cursing yourself.

Matthew 2323 Jesus is speaking to the Pharisees and he says well you teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites what you give 1/10 of your spices meant they all the stuff you have but you have neglected the more important matters of the law, justice, mercy and faithfulness practice. The matter without neglecting the former is rebuking the seas for not being just and merciful and and taking good care of people in God's ways. He said it's not your time and was well liked that you don't neglect the other stuff while you time so the Bible is clear. God loves generosity from a worshipful heart and tithing as a pattern clearly shows us that that's the baseline that's the beginning of this generosity from a worshipful heart and increases from there.

That's the beginning when Jesus mentioned giving other than here in Matthew 2323. He did mention in this tithing.

He mentioned it is giving so generously above the time that there would be no point in mentioning the time. For instance, Jesus in the temple is watching people give can you imagine the emails I would get if I told them the baskets have one basket where body gives put it right here by me and oftentimes bring your dog. I'm watching what you put it to imagine that anger would face standing here watching people evaluating what they are giving. I wouldn't think to do that. But Jesus did you know Jesus better than because he does it every time you do. He's watching you every time you do. He will let me watch you because he knows that y'all are mature enough to have that happen. He sets on basketball is gone with the baskets.

I let him give or not give but tell him I'm watching I'm watching and he said this window I gave all you wife.

Wealthy people are giving more, but the giving lesson sacrifice when it really doesn't hit them. If you're given and you don't feel that you're not worshiping yet you don't feel it yet. This woman is the level which by the way, is why you can say, well, that must be for the wealthy people in the church don't know how little money I had, you would talk to me about giving.

I beg to differ.

I talk to you, probably more about giving there comes a time when you have to realize God excuses no one from the principal the principle is everyone has his resources in a call to give generously out of bed generosity for poor person looks different on paper looks different on the giving statement, but in heaven. Jesus said that person gave more. They gave more because they gave out of what they needed and they gave generously out of what they needed preach on pastor Paul now when you move into the early church and the letters so suppose I see you still see tithing there. What you see in the early church. Acts chapter 2.

They gave sacrificially as they were beginning to come into the kingdom of God been an accident before you even see them selling property to finance the work of the kingdom of God. Imagine selling houses and land to support the kingdom of God was last time I got is I may all all sell a house sell some property sell sell it and bring it all that said property and bring it all before they brought it and put it at the apostles feet said this is for the kingdom. Use it as the Lord leads us to use properties. It was so important a move of God that the next chapter acts chapter 5 there was a couple that wanted to appear to be generous, but when they sold their land and that Jack is gone to Peter so that some of it back put himself took the rest and brought it at the apostles feet but God saw it. So the Lord sends Peter. Peter asked Ananias the job give everything here is what the problem was and Peter said Ananias why have you thought it a good thing to lie to God. He said it was hard to do with what you wanted, making you do it. He was giving you limitation to join the other Saints in this particular project of selling properties and giving the proceeds entirely to the work of the Lord you wouldn't have to join in, you chose to join in but you did it falsely trying to lie that's what God hated God said you ever lied to me and you lied to me and Ananias dropped it on the spot his wife came in little while after that, read accept five to get to wife, came in always put your hair with Macy's Nordstrom bags as well picture in my mind isn't coming with the bags and Peter asked her the same question given her a chance to know her husband be given her chance to be truthful all God want you to do is be truthful, which are from there.

Even if you will, truthful bit wall but not all like it's not what it is. Lord, help me to get right to work, which to stay alive in the bag. Peter said the same brothers coming back from burying your husband are looking for you she dropped it to this she wasn't that they chose not to be generous this year was that they chose not to be generous and lied about it and it insulted God. So when you look at the early church. So say all is a big deal. Will try selling your house and believing God for when you will stay from here right now and also into the king will be right back with more of today's destined for victory message from Pastor Paul Shepherd, senior pastor at destiny Christian Fellowship in Fremont California if you enjoyed destined for victory. We know you love watching some of Pastor Paul's best video clips subscribe to YouTube or find out more get links to all of the social media@pastorpaul.net Pastor Paul.net know when you give generously from your lack God returns everything you gave and then some studies prediction. That's his promise stay with us after today's message Pastor Paul Joyce with the studio right now. Let's join him for the second half of this message. Money matters from the church so people try to use a verse of chapter 9 that says each one should decide what they want to give in their heart and give it not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver standard.

They ignore everything else in the Bible and the gravel processes decide what you want to give and give it because God loves a cheerful giver. Look at the context never look at the text without a context. Second Corinthians 9.

He ends up. Among other things, same decide in your heart what you will give the context begins in chapter 8 where Paul spends a good deal of time trying to make the Corinthians jealous and envious. He says look at the Macedonian churches they out of their extreme poverty have given extremely generously and they couldn't wait to do it.

He said now if they can do that in extreme poverty.

You all should show are becoming through some major funds to support the work that I've been talking to you about the context is he talking about generosity and in chapter 9. In the same chapter what you see. Decide what you want to give in your heart.

He says he who souls generously will reap generously ignore that just make a point to try to prove that you can ignore Genesis to Revelation. When you exhorted to be generous and find one Scripture that you want to make out to mean you don't have to be. That's not being true to the Scriptures and its cursing your own life. In other words, brothers and sisters. The Bible throughout, teaches that it is important to God that we so generously in light of all of this.

Here's a statement I want to stun you with. You are not a generous giver if you give less than a time. You know what generous is generous is how much you give the IRS when you get paid so I took it as a system was that unless you're self-employed, you didn't have the option to give it because if you're employed by the Corporation, they take it so the fact that you get yours Jack before you get your check is really not the issue. The issue is you made it they took it and look at what they took the time this garble in her good. What generous is a blessing in your life and your lines yourselves and I'm generous and do not even give got 10% of all that he's putting your hands, but the document is taken depending on what your income is everywhere was the lowest income rate 1720. Maybe I don't know. I will look it up.

Even if your low income and it will take a lot more than the time I promise you that most of us are not being taken 1517 20%. Most of us up in the 2327 33. Some of us 40+ percent of what we earn same job that you job comes along and says thank you very much and Sam is taken a generous portion. You know what generous is what you give to your landlord. The average winter of an apartment or house is giving at least 20% of his or her income to the place they stay at least at least a double tie to your landlord. 20% manual written are paid 25%, 30% some of your written are one third of your income. 33%. Some of you renting at 40 or more percent you don't even own the house. That's generous, you know what generous is homeowners generous is what you send Bank of America, Wells Fargo, where it is and you you send it faithfully will have a worshipful heart when you're doing but you do it because you want to stay there no future for us in the average America is given 1/3 of their income to their mortgage and most of us homeowners are giving more than 1/3 of our income is not uncommon now to see people given 4045 50%. I've heard of a few people more than half of what they earn pays their mortgage that's generous. So if we want to meet God at the point of generosity and he's saying just start with 10 look at what is now saying he's not saying give me one you give me God. Good start with anti-Jackie money I gave you the and will blessing you to see it in this season of your life to me.

45% to 33% sales start with 10% to me and watch how I will bless you with the 90% so by saying here's a challenge. Calculate the percentage of your income you're currently giving and see what it is calculated. Just tell yourself stuff that's not true to yourself. Either you know why because I will know if you answer that question because you know the next question will be so much you give to the Lord, don't tell me you give some examples 24,000 a year. That's what I mean when I first came to California 1989 and got the culture shock of how much is going to pay rent talk about when I just think when I first got here five dollars short of 50% of my income went to a lady I didn't even know my landlord I'm a preacher when I am done. If I was not rent 2000 a month was my pay double said I know you like and try to time Your money and you got a wife and two little kids at school and you live in California and all this crazy expensive. You can't afford the time and I could not afford not to date Lord is $200 every month to see how you pay bills this month. If you tell me like and 24,000 year then you're given God 200 a month once a month or break it up into but but at the end of the year when you get your statement from the church it all reflect 10% of what you actually earned.

If your 52,000 year type is 5200 year why tithing is wonderful.

You move the decimal one space to the left. How seamless is that to make about Beyoncé so there's no all that God has done for you and all the things he brought you so all God has done for you all not just give you more money and make you decimal to and see what I'll do is you make that you like. Thanks so much for being here for today's message. Money matters Pastor Paul Joyce Meno from his studio in California pastor dealing with a sensitive subject today but why is it that money is such a touchy subject for us. We hoping people take away from the series. Well, my hope is that they will understand a critical piece of information that Jesus gave us in Matthew six he said where your treasure is, that's where your heart is and since he stated quite matter-of-factly. We need to say okay the Lord knows that there is a direct connection between our priorities are values and our money and my job in this particular time of preaching is to share principles that will help us know. Here's the way God wants us to view and use the resource of money. Very often we call it our money, but the more I look at the Bible I say know the Bible never calls it mine. He calls it. My Masters and I'm the servant that has to take care of something that belongs to my master and so as I get my check every other week.

I remind myself that this isn't mine. It is a resource God is entrusted to me and he's going to hold me to account for how I use it I don't mind telling you Wayne that and and you know people can do it the way it works for them for me.

I have a separate checking account where my ties and my offering above my ties go away and automatically it's a good idea.

I never see it because the way my direct deposits are set up my ties and my offerings go into an account. I never even look at the start looking at him. I think all man. I got some money in here so I can't do that as God's money, and every time I got a gift to the kingdom of God with its local church Imo legacy builder for Destin for victory and I give to other ministries as well, and I do it right out of that account because that's not mine that's God's money, and I think we gotta learn how to use the resource in a way that he is pleased with you so many times we fantasize what would happen if we had all the money we needed. Instead of putting that effort into stewarding what God has given to us of me that's that's what he wants us to have salutes. Let's make the most of it. The thing I love about God is he just asked me to be generous. He didn't say I wanted all he says I want you to be generous as you support the kingdom of God. We are giving what we cannot keep in order to gain what we cannot lose when we give to the kingdom where giving to something that has eternal value and God is pleased because of that. When you think about it.

God doesn't need anything from us. He wants something for us as we honor him with our ties and offerings, he's faithful to bless us, beyond all we can ask or think. Keep in mind that as you are able to be generous today with your gift. It is profoundly important that we understand God's will as it relates to sewing generously. So much of what God wants to do in your life is going to hinge on how you will obey him in the matter of sewing generously. That's next time and pastor Paul Shepard's message. Money matters until then. Remember he who began a good work and you will bring it to completion. In Christ, you are destined for victory
