God wants to do some things in your life.

That's why some of the things you go through because he wants to workout his own purpose in God says that's because I want you to trust me and follow my purpose in your life. Hebrews 11 verse six tells us that without faith it is impossible to please God. As part of the reason why God allows us to go through some tough times and challenges because these are the times when our faith is truly tested today on destined for victory.

Pastor Paul reminds us that God has a unique and special purpose for each of his children is why sometimes places obstacles in our way to strengthen our faith in him.

So now here's Pastor Paul Shepherd. With today's destined for victory message Ishmael versus Isaac some of you want success. God bless you with all things, but you need to know his purpose for what he's doing in your life and what he gives you because you spent all your time making a living and making a life. You have a bunch of stuff and you don't have God's perspective on what the stuff is and will just be honest, some of us were better off in terms of T of life when we were so fixed on the line is about people happier than we are with you know is true some of us are parents and grandparents. We have my grandmother lived in a house like I live in, but she was happy where God had blessed she would see what say and have a grand thing and then feed us, and what have you just happy because my God and my family as well. With that track and we think it's all about what we can accumulate the power to obtain one Scripture says God may bless you with some material thing, but to discover his purpose. Whatever he brings into your life. You gotta learn how to give generously to learn how to invest in the kingdom. Learn how to support those things that are making a difference. To make sure that everything in your life is in Bible order because when it's all said and done, it's really about purpose and Christ offers us purpose. Ephesians 210 says we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. He knows what he wants out of your life and it is on the basis of his purpose for you that he brings into your life. What he does and it is our job to say Lord. My only desire is to give you a good return on your investment in my life and to hear you say well done good and faithful servant.

And so God offers us purpose. Don't spend your time this last pursuits. A person in your life will quit trying to dry them in their God knows how to look you up with the right person.

God have no problem making God need your help in living a life of godly purpose, and he knows how to intersect your life with the right people, you determine the you're single or divorced and you want a relationship and you see somebody and you go think you go to being friendly and interested didn't believe him know that no in the right people will actually want to be in your life to be God they want to be with you all know know what you at least say okay now this just might be God then you want to be with you have the right motive want to be with you.

You still got some want to be with you because you mold you into their image or make you into their likeness and do what they want to do God of the people in your life so that you can be what they want to bring people in your life so that you can be what he wants help when you become the person the Lord has ordained for you to be God of the one God knows the purpose is to drag somebody kicking and screaming. You you right written by believers, but they got this much revelation. He's not that into you learn God's purpose will bring many plans in a man's heart. One proverb says, what is the Lord's purpose that prevails if you don't want to be learned want people to the door of your life for something convincing and killed them in the state, but you said you'd always know if you're not married to them the marriage were supposed to live up to that commitment used to God knows when this is not you get on my nerves and sure there's some extenuating circumstance in the Bible makes clear, there are some exceptions to the role of the general rule is you make that commitment for life and so you can just train them in his car. But the fact of the matter is you want in a marriage relationship don't have the commitment and somebody is shaking and shading and you think you want to marry him. I promise you, you don't promise you, you don't.

If you see signs now on their best behavior a long time. What you see all day and you don't really get down to business and the right questions and find out what you're really dealing with all worried about romantic environments and we went to dinner. You went to dinner with you are the person you're dating their representative you're dating who they want you to believe they are and so they'll take you have and hold the door and open to and run around the car and get in and be real nice treats his sister, his mother ordinary people everyday people. How does he speak respectfully to personally don't think there's anything in it for him. That's what you want to check out and so you want to discern God's purposes, and if somebody is proven that really not for you believe him welcome to the door of your life. You know it's been really nice with wonderful time in your heart you will be okay original thoughts and ideas and hold is not what God wants. But no, will be right back with more of today's destined for victory message from Pastor Paul Shepherd listen to the broadcast on demand@pastorpaul.net that's Pastor Paul.net. We'll find a host of great resources in our online store or you can always listen to or download the podcast at Google podcast or wherever you will David spare the life of the king who was trying to kill him.

But King Saul repeat David's gentleness by doubling down in his own jealousy is Pastor Paul was arrested today's message, the power, gentleness God in our lives purpose.

Christ offers us purpose and that's what we learn from Ishmael versus Isaac Isaac was God's best son, and God wants to give you that level of significance. The last thing you learn in this passage is Christ offers fulfillment instead of forfeiture fulfillment instead of forfeiture smell was growing up. Look at what happens in Genesis that Paul refers to your deletions for growing up. When the Lord spoke again about the son of promise is already a teenager. He's already 13 years old. Now think of the impact of that on Abraham at that point he was being referred to as Abraham's son has gotten into his heart. He's now had the son of his old age.

He's growing up. The boys get strong developing physically and developing mentally and socially, but is not the son of purpose and God said… Fulfill my purpose in your life and if you let me do it, you will experience a fulfillment that you never had before and so the Lord says not ready to bring the son of promise of you all are ready to say yes and they surrendered to God. And when Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90.

They had a bouncing baby boy. You know Sarah was a mess with that boy. Think about it first. She put germs on she was walking around though. What I be. I want you to see something though the Bible says that on the day Isaac was being weaned. They had a party of celebration that he was being weaned from being nursed and on that day. The Bible says and Paul refers to it here in Galatians 4 that Ishmael mocked Isaac big fuss will be made about the new baby and household and so Ishmael probably would've little friends around just making fun of the event and of this other child. Problem is Ishmael is the child of the slave woman, the one whose babies market is the real lady of the house you can relate to what it would've been like for you to be holding your first child and go and see a child that you your job, you know Sarah is like see you. Sarah called Betty.

You understand what the problem she said that woman has got to go and Abraham said well there's a problem sweetheart.

Problem is, she's the mother of Ishmael. My older son Sarah said, I'm glad you brought him up because he has to go with and the Bible says in Psalm three Abraham went to the Lord would say don't worry man, I got your back. I'll talk to Sarah Lawrence I got now.

I got said to Abraham listen to your wife why because God wanted to bring a fulfillment into Abraham's life. Remember the original promise was through your seed all the nations of the world will be blessed if you fixated on a child that is not the child of promise you will have for you. Some of us have got our focus on all the wrong thing and so had this right, Ishmael, Abraham sold that were attributed to Isaac could come to pass. The Lord said, listen to your wife and he said don't worry about Hagar and Ishmael will take care of the I'm here to tell someone the Lord is saying to you.

I am bringing a separation into your life of some things you've been holding onto depending all and I am going to set them from you so that you can focus on my purpose. It is very important that you listen to God and that you follow him in the details of your life because God will not allow your mistakes to keep marking your miracles. Ishmael was a mistake individual. God made a promise to Hagar. I will bless you bless your son and he did, but they had nothing to do with the promise he had made Isaac and so you gotta realize that sometimes our mistakes in our lives try to coexist with the miracles God what your mistakes are older and louder, and they try to dominate like Ishmael tried to do in that household. And God will not allow your mistakes to mark his miracles, so he will bring about a separation sometimes you see the Lord separate you from things you held severely it could be a job or career that you're so focused on your missing God's purpose. It could be a vocational plan. You have a career path you want to take. And God says I have another plant I told you many times that I did not want to be a pastor but God said that's not my problem or danger to be a pastor.

So the only issue is how long it will take you to say yes and you know from that story. If you miss God while and so I learned enough of the Bible and read the story of Jonah things for you.just got the box would go was a fine take the snow try to go to Joplin want to got stirred up a storm.

He was on a boat full of pagans, people who didn't know God. They said let's all pray to God. Everybody pretty God will listen no help from Celeste cast lots. Call somebody on this boat is in trouble. They know God, but they knew God was speaking to somebody who don't know God are given out to call. We'll talk to see what is on Joanie's against me and I will try to roll him the safety let's get him back on a shortage to get back to shore.

But God just made the storm impossible is that we try to help you is all we can do with your God. So don't yeah you're right is going to throw me over. We don't do we think and say picked them up the removable listen, God has a plan for your life and he will fulfill it with you what I have to say yes even when he separates your mistakes from your miracle.

You gotta say yes even when he brings you to a place where things you once depended on the people you once depended on you can no longer count on what you can count on is that Christ offers fulfillment. He began the good work in you and he will bring it when your closest friends abandon you. God won't put your spouse leaves God's days, he is faithful when others are not.

He is faithful when you are not focus on what you got left instead of what you've lost.

As God says in Hebrews 13 verse five. I will never leave you and I will never forsake you.
