Is Obama on the coffee table profitable.

It is a video and read from it. I want you to get the maximum benefit because this book has the power to change on this book has the power to change the way we think, the way we act the way we live the way we love is will open.

Looking across the bridge with David is the senior pastor of the bridge includes new North Carolina. It's true that most of us have Bibles all over our houses. But the question is reason find out why a Bible is better for you if you open it up today as Pastor David continues in the book of Romans chapter get into today's teaching from beginning to end.

The Bible shows the special nature of God's relationship with the nation. But what does that have to do with you today. Romans chapter 11 tells us that God covenant relationship with Israel has huge applications for you to help you understand more. Pastor David Singh to video record and called his Bible. This powerful resource will encourage and strengthen you as you learn how connected you are God's chosen Bible and is our gift donations to help the station and beyond cross the bridge from death to life visit the bridge.com to request again next cross the bridge. Now, here is teaching the word of God turn with me to Romans chapter 3, and remembering that this book is written by Paul. It was written to the Romans before Paul had been to Rome to see again today why he wrote the book and in the way he expresses himself himself in this book and it's just an incredible book.

We talked about before, that this book of Romans has impacted not only personal lives, but is also impacted human history because Martin Luther was so impacted by this that he helped fuel the fires of the Reformation. A few hundred years ago and the whole landscape in Europe changed church government change. Human governments change something is saying about same Holy Spirit is here today to change your life. The same words. Romans chapter 3 verse one says what advantage then has the Jew. What is the profit of circumcision now for context. Like let's understand the divisions of the chapter and the verses came much later.

Times are in very good places it in time the counter breaks the continuous thought. Let's hop up to 28 chapter 2 verse 28 for he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh, but he is a Jew who is one inwardly and circumcision is that of the heart and the spirit not in the letter. His praise is not from men but from God then continues the thought what advantage then has a Jew are what is the profit of circumcision so we talked last week when there's a little play on words in the sense that the word Jew comes from Yehuda Judah, and that word means praise and sing literally.

Paul is saying in chapter 2 hey you know you really circumcision if you will, your God praise or literally of your God praise or any starts in verse 20 says well if if everybody stands guilty before God. Then what profit is there to be in a Jew and try to do in this in this work. In this chapter, and I know that there are some people who are Jewish that are here to try to make a little wider application because there is something here. I've heard people say what what what advantage is there to be a part of a church is there an advantage to be a part of well if you are not saved, there's really not an advantage to going to church, but if you are say there's a huge advantage to going to church. In other words, if you're just going to the motions of going to church. Is it really not benefiting you probably heard some people, but if you know the Lord and you're going to church and obviously there's a benefit you here this morning and your not yet believing, you just got a check in the whole church thing out and check in this place out, and you are welcome guest but at some point you have to come to that personal decision to push you throw things that you yell at you point at your to push you to that decision but you need to come to that decision.

Not obviously I believe that there's a benefit and going to church but is there a spiritual advantage until you come to that place of asking Jesus to forgive your sins.

And you're not trusting in Jesus yet there is not a real advantage or a really good question. Is there any advantage to being a Jew and a lot of us because of her church upbringing or whatever would Satan. I don't think there is less understand Paul's rightness, and 58 A.D. something like that.

So what applies here also applies modern day. Let's look at Paul's answer first to much in every way, chiefly because of them were committed the oracles of God upon the book of Romans is going to tell some of the ways of the Jewish people have been blessed throughout history.

Paul says he answers his own question is absolutely there is an advantage to being Jewish in their advantage continues today because this is 58 A.D. Theologically, the same truth applies to us now. Do they need forgiveness like you and I absolutely absolutely Paul's model here Zach is a great one use because acknowledging God's blessing on the Jewish people. If you have an opportunity to witness to a Jewish person acknowledging that they were given the oracles of God the Word of God. The Hebrew Scriptures we sometimes refer to the Old Testament if you're talking to a Jewish person. Don't call it the Old Testament, called the Hebrew Scriptures. Great way to have a conversation is the thank them for preserving the Hebrew Scriptures.

But here's the thing in endless understand something the Bible is a collection if you will of many stories and real flyover brief overview. The Hebrew Scriptures are the story of God selecting a people a group, and nation to spread his word among many nations in the New Testament the story changes in that God has selected people out of every nation to tell everybody else in the world about Jesus Christ, the Messiah, see how the Hebrew Scriptures.

Looking forward to the coming of the Messiah in the New Testament. Looking back, that he has, and we want to tell other people about the Hebrew Scriptures were a blessing and a benefit to the Jewish people of how to prophesy. Look forward to the coming Messiah. Now again to make application. Here Paul in verse two says they were really blessed and they were in a place of blessing one, verse two, because they had the oracles of the word of God.

So the semi was a blessing in heaven. The word of God. Remember going back years ago.

Not everybody had the Hebrew Scriptures, mainly the Jewish people different today. A lot of people at Bob's with that Bible comes a responsibility to see their people in this world right now.

They don't have Bob in the Bible. They could be charged. They could be imprisoned and in some places they could be executed for having about wonder how many Bibles average American has 12345 maybe got the big one that sits on the coffee table that you just often sit out there somebody in ministry or the pastor comes by. Maybe it is big enough income to the kids, whether they mess up the disk. It is, is that Bob on the coffee table profitable it is to be open and read from. That's what we do here. I want you to get the maximum benefit from this book because this book has the power to change lives. This book has the power to change the way we think, the way we act the way we live the way we love is we open the printer begot Obama understand there's a responsibility.

The Bible talks about this responsibility, accountability, Luke 1248 but he who did not know yet committed things deserving of strike shall be beaten with few everyone to whom much is given from him much will be required and to whom much is been committed of him they will ask the more.

Or the new living translation puts it like this, but people who are not aware that they were doing well will be punished only lightly, much is required from those who whom much is given much more is required from those due to much more is given about on your agreement and your studying it than the requirements are going every time you sit in the Bible study here requirements are going up. Why because your hearing about these things in your learning about these things first. Life lesson here is there is a blessing and responsibility and having about.

There is a blessing and responsibility and have a Bible we are committed to reach people and teach them how to follow Jesus teaching the Bible was very serious about that very passionate about that because again we believe that's what the church is, why don't I don't understand. In some places where they say that we believe the Bible is the word of God within. They don't they don't really take the time and and placed emphasis on the teaching of the word of God, and maybe sit near the line I don't I don't see how the Jews were really blessed because they have the word of God that when we walk you through a couple incredible weight. First of all, they had laws of human interaction long before anybody. In fact, the later governments the Roman government. The whole way that the Grecian society was set up a lot of that borrowed heavily from Judaism and in the Hebrew Scriptures and also it's interesting because these things were given long before man realized he think about the sanitary. The dietary laws that are contained in the Hebrew Scriptures things about Leiden and infections in all these things will get long before we realize that blood could be infectious. We didn't realize that God knew it. God told these Scriptures factors can interesting in the Middle Ages when these plagues were going around bubonic plague black leg and whatnot. The Jewish people because of their sanitary and dietary laws were largely unaffected word most of the population lost huge percentages.

The Jewish people did not want and they actually started being suspicious and thinking the Jews were called in the plagues and blame them for but the reason they were kept from those things because these dietary laws that they Can interesting keep it out of insurmountable debt again blessing of your reading the Bible and apply sexually-transmitted diseases. STDs again if you apply in the book don't have to worry about this book will keep you so much out of trouble if you read it and you apply if your knees are on the ground in your noses in the book and avoid a lot of heartache in this life. Promise. There's a blessing in book of Revelation says chapter 1 verse three says it.

Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it for the time is near.

So he who reads he who hears his blast and here you keeps knocking make sure he got first make sure that you read it and that you hear shopping on Sunday morning.

I will read it with you and I will make sure that you hear as far as keeping it well. Let me encourage you to keep it, but that that is up to you. We often quote that verse. The truth shall set you free. You hear about on television here onset, the truth will set you free.

That is in the Bible, but there's a context about the true set you free.

That we need understand John 831 says that then Jesus said to the Jews who believed in him. If you abide in my word, you are my disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. So there's a couple what you call qualifiers in there if you abide in his word stay in the word of God then you are the site and you will know the truth and because you know the truth. The truth will begin the set you free. We see that over and over and over and lives are and see this is a promise that God is a blessing in this book. Now understand all go and be up front because some people some some people teach that Israel has been replaced by the church and when you read in the New Testament about promises to Israel are things about the Jewish people that that actually doesn't apply to the Jewish people anymore that now applies to the modern-day New Testament church need understand that heresy. And that's not too strong of a word that is heresy. You cannot show me in this book, you cannot say will. The reason we think that people just came up with that they invented that skull replacement theology. If you ever hear somebody say that you need to challenge them or you need. We have a little after pastor thing on the website say how can I do with this person. How can I talk to this person because I think God is done with Israel. Now here's the reason that the problem fact it's very interesting, sympathetic teacher.

I love prophecy sympathetic teachers I get to Revelation 7 talks about the hundred 44,000 and some prophecy writers go out one or the 444,000 of the there's 12,000 for each of the 12 tribes you have to sit or go to the one who thought about it and anything that when enough it actually names a drop in the morning to go on the restart what you know. I'd rather get to heaven go you know got I took you literally and when you said 12,000 from each tribe. I thought you meant 12,000 from each tribe, rather than going got it took like every seventh letter when I joined it together my disclaimers and and and and to because here's where that argument really falls apart. People say we got some of the Jewish people say what he believe is because they acted up they were basically didn't know what the also that happens, then God knows I'm done with that, the God you serve is from the master recording question you ever messed up. You're not done what you were supposed to do. Ever done what you were supposed to do in the godlike agenda I'm done with you always promises that offered you not doing tonight how real theological wish. Don't take my word for were going to get there sometime this year. But let me go to Romans chapter 11 it says this then has God rejected his people, the Jews, we stop it. This was written about 58 A.D. so theologically it's consistent with what we should know and believe I asked Dennis God rejected his people, the Jews, of course not. Remember that I myself am a Jew in the center of Abraham and a member of the trauma management know God has not rejected his own people, and we chose from the very beginning.

Do you remember what the Scripture say about this.

Elijah the prophet complained God, but the people of Israel that goes on and on and out encouraging if you want about this if you wonder God is finished with Israel. Read chapter 11 of Romans. There's obviously pulses there is a benefit you listening to Pastor David McGee on cross the bridge will be back with more powerful insight from God's word in just a moment but first, God's grace and mercy is greater than any of us could ever fathom. That's why he's been so faithful to the nation of Israel throughout the ages. He's not finished.

He's promised to remain true to them to the end.

We want to show you what God's faithfulness toward Israel says about his relationship with you by sending you Pastor David's teaching video Israel the Bible and you in this exciting teaching recorded in the heart of the holy land. Now back to today's teaching verse three chapter 3 verse says for what son did not delay while their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect.

Some Jewish people didn't believe in Jesus the Messiah. They didn't receive him as their Savior. Paul is making the argument that we all stand dissenters before the God before God and everybody Jewish or Gentile has to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and that when we do, were on equal footing on the rundown retro for just a second. Help us make personal application because I think it will help us understand the context I believe this country United States of America is a blessed country seen the bumper stickers and I appreciate… God bless America. I don't mean to sound unpatriotic.

God has blessed America. What are we doing with those blessings.

That's the bigger question, not God. Please bless America more you bless this country were sitting here this morning. We got Bibles open were not worried about people rushing and coming into restaurants or executors present in here about a study worshiping God, then this is a blessed country. What are we doing with the blessings is the question just kind of the same thing here. One of the Jewish people doing with the blessings.

That's what matters.

Some Americans don't believe in God. They don't believe in the Bible, and yet they still think there's a spiritual blessing outside of the if you doubt this share this before, but I was working in music store years ago the sky was about equipment first church in his. His language was just peppered me you know I'm not a prude but menisci languages just file and I was like for the church is using all these words well so I said I set up are you Christian anything course, I am an American.

It was one of the few times in my life of actually speechless for a few seconds godlike 15 feet away before thought of response is like in my mind I'm going what you you going to heaven you got give me a green card or sent me out of what what in the world did you just say to me. I'm America not only the gospel is all them foreigners need to gospel there's a blessing being an American.

There's also responsibility. There's thirsting at what there's that. That's why some people to consult Christians don't believe a word I how can you call yourself a Christian, I believe Laura got. I don't think they that's what they call themselves.

I don't I don't get but here's the thing. If somebody doesn't believe it. And this is what policy somebody doesn't believe it, doesn't mean it's not true as a bumper sticker which you should never get theological truths from bumper stickers, bumper cigarette, there is the Bible said it. I believe it, that settles here's what it doesn't matter you believe it or not. Bible said it that settles it to you.

You can say well you know the law of gravity. You know, somebody taught it.

I believe it, that settles it doesn't matter if you believe it or not you. You can say I do I don't believe a long gravity and go out here on the roof and step off the roof and at that point. When you step out in the center. It doesn't matter if you believe in the law of gravity going to go at the end of that short order and you can sit there and enroll around doesn't matter. Still, the truth is that there go out only to Boston for doesn't matter still for doesn't. I don't care about God's promises depend on our belief that the Bible says he remains faithful even more faith that was certainly not in the let God be true and every man a liar great verse if you don't have another portion memorizing me to commit it to memory. What got me through that her mental is written that you may be justified in your word, and may overcome when you are judged. God be true and every man a liar. Now let's understand the setting that Paul was writing and again this is somewhere 54 to 58 a, 80, and part of what happened in and were told about this acts chapter 18 verse two says and when he found a certain Jew named the quit was born in Pontus who recently come from any Italy with his wife Priscilla because Claudius who was that the Caesar had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome and he came to them. Claudius ruled in 41 5480 after him, Nero came along and again I believe Rome is about 57, 58, eight. Some people put a little bit later to be below bitterly. I think the and Nero told the Jewish people that they can come back so you have the problem that there were Gentile Christians that remained in Rome. The Jews in the Jewish Christians got kicked out and then they were welcome back. And so there was these tensions between the Jewish Christians and the Gentile Christians. So at that point he already had two denominations and we've since split it into about a thousand supposed to deal with this aspect and and bring unity between these believers let God be true and every man a liar.

People been trying to disprove the Bible for hundreds of years, like the saying the Bible is the animal that's worn out many Voltaire French philosopher predicted the demise of Christianity and the end of the Bible, long time ago I was still here were believers and I got Richard Dawkins who wrote the God delusion. I don't trust this guy.

I've seen them. I listen to I trust this book, I trust God. There was one man, William Ramsey, as he read the book of Luke. He saw all that the different geographical cities and Stephanie thought this is I can disprove the Bible by going these different cities and and disproven what it says because they don't exist or they don't exist in the places and so he set about trying to disprove the Bible going to the gospel about six years later, William Ramsey gave his life to Christ because as he went to the book of Luke. He found it was incredibly accurate down to the detail get to know the word of God and you know for sure that your sins been forgiven. You can know right now own Legion. A short simple prayer simply telling God you're sorry and asking him to help you to live for him. God wants you to pray this prayer so much that he died to give you the opportunity and the ability to ask him to forgive you.
