There was a time when you could hitchhike from anywhere to anywhere but now we don't want anybody in the personal space where we cannot quickly get away from them. Same thing at home. We make sure our doors are locked and then there is the people we want to make sure you know the person on the other side before we open the door and then there's a screen door and then there's a lock on the door and now they even have the video doorbells where you can look to see and make sure that the person is someone you recognize there is facial recognition technology with those video doorbells. We do all kinds of things to make sure that we are discerning, will lead the wrong people into our personal space, but unfortunately the one place where we are the least discerning is in the area of our mind. We let anybody and anyone speak into our lives we we let anyone no matter what their beliefs are, no matter what their agenda is where light come on and talk to us and were living in the age of social media and even prior to that the news media. Whatever we let anybody and anyone get into our lives and into our minds in the Bible commands us to be discerning and to know what is the truth, specially regarding doctrine specially regarding who Jesus Christ is, how he came into this world why he came in this world we need to be very very discerning. Failure to do so is to become a participant in the evil works of others. Failure to do so will be even jeopardize your salvation. As of this evening we gonna talk about this as a standalone message next weekend we begin a series called hosannas. You see, the palm leaves beautifully decorated behind me, but today this is a one message call discern from second John, you have your Bibles with you. Go ahead and turn their second John, there's only one chapter so it's a verse seven and let's all stand together for the reading of God's word. Second, John verse seven. For many deceivers have gone out into the world while right. There's we should stop many deceivers. People who are here to fool you have gone into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist look to yourselves that we do not lose those things we work for, but that we may receive a full reward.

And so they were misleading people and John says hey listen, don't be gullible doing just let anyone into your personal space and amazing don't open the door don't even say hello to them. John led them into your personal space. Pay attention to what they are teaching recognize that they have an agenda and ulterior motive. In fact, don't even engage them. Don't engage them. Now keep in mind that does not mean that you don't witness to lost people there be things that I know I know what I believe a number tell you be careful, it may be the other way around. They may convince you and so is so critical, so vital that we refuse to let them into our personal space. Truth is vital truth is critical, and failure to stick to the truth is self condemning.

So guard your mind and specially folks in this generation of social media having this technology this computer in our hands that we don't have to have someone knocking on doors again become in and talk to you about our faith is coming to you right in the palm of your hands and don't just immediately think I'm talking about the Jehovah's Witness or the Mormons I'm talking about people with agenda don't have the same beliefs regarding Jesus Christ to have easy access to everybody don't overestimate your ability to recognize their so the question for us before we dive into this messages do you guard your mind. Do you really guard to use selective as to who you listen to are you being misled not just about the doctrine of Christ, but other areas of the Christian life. John wrote three letters for second and third but if you want to know what the definition of truth is you have to back up and read first John didn't have time to do that but but in first John the definition of truth is given in three points color-coded from it. He died so we could go free. He died so we can have forgiveness of sin in this book, when John says you should walk in it. You should walk in the truth. Truth has three parts number one Jesus is the Messiah number two. He came son of God became fully man.

Number three. He died for our sin, for atonement. So the question is how seriously do you take those three things you listen to people who don't adhere who don't believe those truths do you have people in your life who are influencing you who do not believe that Jesus is the son of God, do you have people in your life who do not believe that Jesus was fully God and fully man. Do you have people in your life who do not believe that he died for the sins of every human being. If you do and you're listening to them. Be very careful because they do not have the truth in them.

Can I work for a company cannot work for an Institute or institution dental believe Jesus Christ yet. You can but keep in mind when they begin to guide your decisions. They will have an ulterior motive. The only person in the Bible who talks about the antichrist and actually calls that name antichrist is John and he only does it in his this first John and second John, he didn't even talk about the antichrist. In the book of Revelation. Three. To be kind of careful how quickly we talk about the antichrist. But what can we learn about the antichrist. Based on this letter. Well, let's listen to first John chapter 2. What is John say in verse 18 is a little children is the last hour as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, means there is someone coming who's going to be contrary to who Christ is. Listen again is the last hour and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now, listen to this. Even now many antichrists have come by which we know that it is the last hour where related I thought there was only one antichrist.

Well, not when you read this passage, not just one.

There are many pairs of more than one that is not just one big one in the air in there also many even now folks, even now in this world in which you and I are living in the year 2020. Love is obedience. When you obey, you will be the truth. Truth about what truth about Jesus Christ okay are the cells would not wait. There are deceivers who will try to confuse you. They are the antichrist. They don't believe in Christ. They want to steal, kill and destroy. Pay attention because are coming from your ranks. How much do you listen to people about politics and current events was happening in our world do you lend your ear to every body I we are far more discerning who we let into our homes but we let people into our minds sitting inside closed doors, log doors and yet they're coming in and talking to us and getting us to change our minds and do what they want us to do.

Are you walking in the truth. Are you remaining in the truth. Do you know the true do you know Jesus Christ. And tonight, as we go in a time of invitation.

If you do not know Christ as your Savior. Today's a day to give your life to him today is a day to invite them into your life and the Holy Spirit has promised that he will guide us. He will direct us to help us discern. It is amenable to be perfectly to make mistakes when a slip at times it doesn't mean that all our obedience is good be 10-10 many days is like .5 but the desire is there to obey and the Holy Spirit gives us the grace of God, to obey.
