Really excited to welcome a longtime friend and of course that ageless radio host John Kincaid from 97 five the fanatic getting ready to host his morning show at the top of the hour.

Okay John semi serious question. What's better than being a Philadelphia sports fan right now. Not much else and much of the Philadelphia Union of the number one for you to be MLS. I did not. Sorry about that.

We will get to that later. I'm sure there's nothing that there's nothing better and there's nothing better than being home and you and I have known each other for a long time and to get to come home to my hometown last year and to work here and to talk about my favorite teams and all this excitement going on is like a perfect storm right this city is on freaking fire. Everybody is part of it. My wife would never been a full-time Philadelphian, you know, we were at the store the other day and I'm being talked to by the lady checking us out. The guys stocking the shelves and everything and she's just like it different here it's different as this city is absolutely different.

I know that you are able to go to the games over the weekend between the third and send the Braves and take your beautiful daughter. I'm sure that was an awesome experience in and use you point out in social special memories that were made.

What was it like to be in the park at the Phillies were taking out the archrival Braves.

One of the things is that, especially because she grew up in Atlanta. You know she grew up and was born in Atlanta and graduated high school before coming up here to go to college and I Friday just decided you know what I know I do my job for a living. I got the press box but I said you know what, I'll go to the press box. Saturday I will take her. I want to sit in the stands.

I want to really indoctrinate her to be a Phillies fan and she was losing her mind losing her mind. She said that the electricity in this building Friday afternoon. Amy was one of the story. Best fan experiences I've ever had sitting in the stands and it was so amazing and so much energy and when you beat a class act organization like any great organization like the Braves or by the wife to be around for another 10 years.

With that we got that roster.

They you know it could be just the beginning of just years of punch counterpunch that was so awesome and then Saturday I went to press box got a chance to do my job like a professional event last night hosted pregame and then went in the stadium and and and set the box again. It was an amazing weekend. I just feel like I should have a cot so just up to one of the parking lot. It would've made it easier to get in and out all that traffic. All we can we tell you to get out of that game on Saturday. Two hours. Oh man it was crazy because honestly people were on the hoods of cars people were just there was a Flyers game. It was in the third. As the celebration going on somebody think of God, get up for the Flyers game gets out and then they both get out the same time it was mayhem but you know what everybody was having a good time and I may run for mayor is just just affix the traffic patterns around the stadium because it was crazy and it was a great great time 97 five the fanatic morning shows getting sent to talk about all of this with his silly listers coming up at the top of the hour.

Literally the last team into the playoffs, so why now are they putting it all together will weird Amy want to talk about my listener's morning and I talked to about or two of the last three world champions were below 500 in late June 20 19 nationals in the 2021 Braves and the Phillies were under 500 in late May when they fired Joe Girardi and brought in. You know, copper is the fees as it is called her well, they are he change the mood Amy. There was a cleansing, you know, when you know in a job when management changes and there's just a breath of fresh air. There's new communication.

Everybody sorta comes to work feeling a little better. It's sort of similar that the Phillies players started to have fun they were tense group. They actually mirrored Joe Girardi's energy and Joe Girardi's energy for a guy who had already won a World Series had already managed in New York. I was so shocked that everything was with him. I would've thought he couldn't get no shoot to ply between them because he was so tight living with just on the show… It was really he was very tight walk around very stiff and I think people that office energy of he was 10.

Rob Thompson comes in with a much different entered editors change and there there there best players are coming through it big time and honestly with Wheeler and Nolan. They actually have a one, two punch. This is good as anybody left in the post by just about to ask you is there a hotter picture. Right now there are no lot because not only the regular season. He was the one he was on the mall when they had the opportunity to clinch, but the ways but so far the playoffs will and when you have Wheeler Nola and you got to set it up because you took out the Braves and for you not to go to Wheeler in any way in game five and you get to set up your rotation. You can go one to Wheeler Nola in San Diego and you know they can bring them back in 56. I really liked her chances because of that I really, really good about it.

Plus, you got Sir Anthony Dominguez and and you know José Alvarado that and Brad hand of all the sudden just become unconscious in the bullpen and she got three guys you're leaning on your like my gosh there. All of a sudden they've put it all together and it's it's just bond. It's just one of the energy in that building. It's good to be wild Friday Saturday Sunday back here for games three, four, five, and it can be beautiful weather. Yeah, I got a beautiful weekend for it. So the city is just going to be not and the ticket.

It was crazy and and my friends in Atlanta, Vietnam, and Mel list but you could get into the Braves playoff games for 12 and $13 and your here for standing room and hear people were paying for standing room 178 185. It was crazy and this weekend is good to be even worse to be stupid in the college funding yes well coming to college can wait right time to go to college in the government be paying for it, so whatever. So okay so John, all the things that you do a lot of things that you just said about Philly can also apply to San Diego. Their hot obviously their pitching is locked in their bath right now seemingly relentless and they were able to stymie their archrival in the dodger. So what is scary about the Padres. One thing is real scary about the movie star quality big anything the Phillies have the Padres well look at it is, and that's why I really think this is going to be a Google series because anything that the Phillies can say well they got*guys that are coming through right now. I think the Padres can actually help to them.

As far star quality, especially the lineup and and so that's one of those things that the Phillies that's got to be ready for because I believe the Padres top to bottom have a more relentless approach in the lineup as far as guys who can get on base, create endings and do things and still have the power, the Phillies tend to be a little more hot and cold at times, even though it has been better in the postseason that would be my biggest concern pitching wise, I think the Phillies can match them pitching for pitching. I'm not concerned about that in the least. I do believe the stories of the edge. There are slight edge when it is starting to wonder Philadelphia I was good to be Wheeler. The Wheeler man and let Nola go on normal rest and Wheeler will go on Wheeler so pumped for this to use been an unsung hero. I think the Mets could have used is really funny that the that Wheeler and SunGard both help in the pitch facilities into BNL CS two guys that the Mets didn't want and that that you know it that's one thing I think plays in the hands little bit for the Phillies. We hate the Mets more than anything and the Braves have always been this like no godlike figure in the division where there's not the hatred of the Braves in the same way because I don't think it honesty Phillies ever thought I we been in the same class of the Braves where you can win five fixtures or other that one.

Time and they did for the Mets. They just take and they love seeing the Mets in agony and I think that's the one thing I wonder did San Diego win the World Series last weekend by beating the doctors, but they also went into New York and were able to win the reason he feels. I just wonder that once you beat the Dodgers. I have a weird feeling that that was their Super Bowl and will check back on this and we got back. Later on I have a weird feeling that emotionally they won their Super Bowl beating the Dodgers wears for the Phillies. The kid is just money and this team is young, talented, and they're getting more confidence as it goes along and I think it's a great thing that they have political quarter game yet.

That's a great thing because they can keep everybody focus there six and no and if you look at the schedule, it's not. It's not daunting. I don't see any way that they don't want him to start.
