Calling For the Breath of God

Carter's title for today's message is calling for the breath of God. In the latter part of Ezekiel chapter 36 will find the promise of God to his people Israel because the people dealt falsely in the relationship with God. They were scattered among the nations. Verse 20 says when they came to the nations wherever they went.

They profaned my holy name when they said of them. That's the people of God. At that time. These are the people of the Lord, and yet they had gone out of his land. In verse 21 he says, but I had concern for my holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations, wherever they want.

So you see this litany of God saying you you defiled my name you you walked unrighteously because of it. You are overpowered and they were scattered among the nations, and it was even in embarrassment. When the people of foreign lands looked at you and said these are the people of God, though they're not in the place they should. These are apparently the people of God and the Lord now comes to an end of this and says, but I had concern for my own holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations whether they want and if you have time to go to Ezekiel chapter 36 beginning at verse 22 and right through to the end of the chapter and he starts, say I'm going to do something for my namesake and he says I don't do this for your sake, a house of Israel before my holy namesake would you profaned among the nations where US is as I will sanctify my great name in the nations all know that I am the Lord when I am hello then you before their eyes. That was I'm going to do something in you and for you that is going to lift my name again to reputation in the earth. I will take you out of all nations. I will gather you out of all countries. I will bring you into your own land.

I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean and I will cleanse you from your filthiness and all your idols. He says in verse 26.

I'll give you a new heart put a new spirit within you will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh will remove from you. This obstinacy towards for this this unbelief in a sense like in the graveyard of Lazarus that is rolled a stone in front of your future.

This unbelief in your harvest is this is just the way it's going to be this is going to dictate my future. This is as far as I'm able to go and this is no I'll take that heart away from you and I'll give you a heart that is soft and malleable. I'm able to speak to you and you're able to get out of the grave as Lazarus once did and will start walking towards me is as I put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you will keep my judgments, and do that you will dwell in the land I gave to your fathers and you will be my people and I will be your God. I will deliver you from all your uncleanness. I'll call for the grain and multiply it and bring no famine upon you multiply the prettier trees increase of your fields. You will never again there were approach of famine among the nations. Then he says you will remember your evil ways and your deeds, that were not good and you reload yourselves in your own site for your iniquities and your abominations not for your sake, I do. This is the Lord let it be known to be ashamed and confounded for your own way so house of Israel.

On the day that I cleanse you from your iniquities.

I will enable you to dwell in the cities and the ruins shall be rebuilt. The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying empty in the sight of all task by then they shall say this is the people outside of the kingdom of God. This land that was desolate has become like the Garden of Eden in the waisted and ruined and desolate cities are now fortified and inhabited in the nations which are laughter all around her, shall know that I the Lord have rebuilt the ruined places and planted that which was desolate. The Lord have spoken it, and I will do it, thus says the Lord God. I will also let the house of Israel inquired of me to do this for them.

I will increase them with men like a flock. In other words the road they will begin to pray when I have touch them when I have lifted the their focus now will no longer be on themselves but on others and they will start zero God bring increase into the house of God bring increase into the family of God like a flock offered is the holy sacrifice like the flock of Jerusalem and its feast days, so shall the ruined cities be filled with lots of men and they shall know that I am the Lord, and credible promise. The latter half of Ezekiel 36 is the promise of God to his people Israel is the promise.

You dealt falsely in your relationship with men because of it. There were scattered because of it. You lost your strength. You lost your produce, you lost your reputation you lost everything I wanted to give you and you were scattered among the nations, and became a reproach not just to yourself but also didn't to my name, because they said these are the people of God but I'm not going to bring you home. I'm going to do something in you that will cause the heathen nations around into Marvel they will know that only God could have done this they will say the Lord has built the ruined places they will know that it is my hand in my hand alone. So this is the promise unlike I read these paragraphs and a lot of people have seen these promises in the word of God and the hope for a long time for this promise is the reason for God is it possible this could be mine is to because Ezekiel 37 now deals with the reality of their condition 36 is a promise. 22 to the end. 37 were now dealing with the reality of where the people actually are.

Then he says the hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out of the in the spirit and set me down in the midst of the valley and it was full of bones and he caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley and indeed they were very dry and so God takes the prophet Ezekiel takes him into this place where the people actually are first gives in the promise preached in the promise and takes him into the reality where the people really are because me to pass by, and there were very many in the land.

They were indeed they were very dry. The moisture is is almost gone. The South knew of these bows and in chapter 37 verse 11 said Son of Man. These bones are the whole house of Israel and they say, indeed, our bones are dry. Our hope is lost and we ourselves are cut often and if you're not careful with despondency. That's word leads to this very thing we are dry hike. I can't seem to muster even a love for God.

I'm finding it hard to muster a love for God. My hope for the future is so dim and distant but it's it's it's beyond seems to be beyond my reach now and if you don't, God revealed to his mercy than you can get to the point to saying I'm cut off you can get the point of thinking that your salvation is not real but somehow you you believe the falsehood in God has not redeemed you and he does not call you his own and the bones were saying what future could we possibly have an God says therefore prophesy and say to them. Verse 12 thus says the Lord God holding my people. I will open your graves, and cause you to come out from your graves and bring you into the land of Israel. I'm going to break every place of death off of your life. I'm going to take you out of every hopeless place were used.

It's not possible you could ever have hope or see or have a future, or live again. I'm going to do this for you prophesy to that. Another was speaking to them about things you do, tell them what I am about to do in their lives. You will know that I am the Lord. Verse 13 when I have opened your graves all my people, and brought you up from your graves. I will put my Spirit in you and you shall live, and I will place you in your place that I have destine for you from the time you were conceived in your mother's womb. There was a divine plan. God says in my heart for you and I'm going to take you out from the place where you are on the remove all the boundaries and bring you into that place that belongs to you in Christ there is an inheritance that is yours is a victory that is yours is a power that is yours. There's a purpose that is yours. There's something of God that he wants to sell through your life that will be a display to the reality that he is God is the one who moved upon the face of the earth when it was dark and without form is found in the spirit will and he said, let there be light and there was light and God began to speak in this group began to move the unit to resist the voice of God, the Spirit of God get to the place where were no longer resisting the voice of God's Holy Spirit suddenly boundaries come into our lives. I will put sinews on you and bring flash upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you and you shall live then you shall know that I am the Lord in 2003, the Lord took us as a church to Jamaica, inner-city Kingston, a well-regarded dark secret of the island of Jamaica that there was a an area in the inner city of Kingston of 100,000 people 100% unemployed. The whole area controlled by six different drug lords and 76 different factions it was a place of violence in place of killing a place of murder in order to try and bring about some stability into this area.

The government, when in and they plowed down a 30 acre rectangular area it right in the center of the six communities in the called and no man's land. No man was allowed to go on to that land because if you tried to cross, and you generally be shot by somebody from the other side and in 30 years. The 30 years prior to us going there. There had been over 800 murders on that piece of ground 800 recorded. They said there were more murders than that, but there were 800 recorded shootings and violet this with one side trying to cross over to the other.

Everything always about drug control. The area was so violent that when the government wouldn't even dare shut the electricity off nobody would pay their bill. They wouldn't shut the electricity off and I was told stories of employees of the electric company going in to try to shut off the power and they would be killed during the towers came down in 2001 the Jamaican government sent in the military and tried to try to conquer the area and in the ability conflict, the military lost in the drug lords and their cohorts in their own courts in the area.

It was to this area that the Lord sent us in 2003.

People thought we were mad, literally going into this area. We hired a mercenary soldier to go in because he had we had to go to the home of each drug Lord and get permission to go into the area because if you didn't anyone into that area. The odds of them killing your work were quite high and so this mercenary soldier who was, it was feared and he was there serving the government on various initiatives and he told me personally said you guys are nuts on discarding you to have no idea what you're dealing with you going to get yourselves killed. You don't know the area that you come into and so we just endured is says and south comments. We can going forward. I had a meeting with 50 to 60 pastors in the area and the surrounding or no. No passes were there even going to this area, but in the surrounding area nested were going to go in and we can be there for about four nights requires going to sing and preach the word of God and the Lord can send revival into this area. I don't how it's going to happen, but he spoken it to my heart.

I see something ahead of us is going to be a spiritual awakening in this area and after we are done after four nights were going to pack up and go home and is going to be your job to build churches in the areas can be your job to take care of the converts it's going to be that the local churches job to go in and God's going to break the spirit of poverty and violence in this area member preaching the first night the people were so scared that nobody would come on the field there was a little gaggle of Christian people would come out mostly ladies and there was so scared coming out that it is stood there. The people around us on the sidelines on the 30 acre periphery where were lying 5678. The eight rows deep, but there were too afraid to come under that field, because if it was it was synonymous with with murder and violence and killing. And so what happened was on the I guess it was the second night I was actually preaching from Ezekiel 37 and I was talking about what God can do and how God can break the spirit of violence and how God can give new life and what God is going to do in this area and at a certain point I just saw the futility of my words.

That's only way I can describe it.

I just saw the futility and I backed away from the pulpit. I just dared to pray, I started to call it the God is to know God, would you send your Holy Spirit. Would you have mercy on these people. They're all going to die in their sin. God they live in poverty, living violence, they are too afraid to even come on the field. Lord, there's nothing that's going to happen here if you don't send you don't send the Holy Spirit. Nothing is going to happen, your God, have mercy, and I started weeping and weeping and weeping for the people. I felt the Holy Spirit come on me in the weeping of God became my weeping and as I wept. I didn't even I wasn't aware of it because I was too weeping, too hard because it was weeping, the weeping started to hit the front row of the people in the second row of those in the field in the third row, then went to the decides then went to the back lady was working attended the backs of there was a standing there with a gun in his belt was more guns than people in the field will not there's these turn weeping and it was a Jamaican accent. He looked Teresa that mom's brain freeze crying for me that means going for me and he started to cry when I gave an altar call people streamed out from everywhere they streamed out from the darkness. It was amazing they came to that that altar and the night.

I don't know how many people have hundreds and hundreds came to Christ with 2000 converts it after four nights this spirit of violence was broken over the area telling field is a charge there. Now there's a children's playground. Now they play soccer on that field point in trying to make is when God is about to do something, quite often, he will draw some people who can hear him into his presence and declared to them what he's about to do it, declared it to Ezekiel chapter 36 the turn of the 1900s young man called Evan Roberts he was in Wales.
